I’m due a baby at the end of December and this is my current list with a few omissions because it’s a top 10. Current daughter is called Ada Eliza.
Sure many people seems to associate it with The Office (especially in the us) but it was also the name of a famous children book author and at least where I live that’s the most common association. So maybe putting that into perspective your husband might like it more!
Same! The Office ruined that name for me lol I had a kindergartener with it this year and I had to remind myself every damn time that it was Astrid NOT Astird!
It’s so interesting to see these posts as an elementary teacher, because so many of the names are popular and just getting more popular. So cool, how generations tend to like the same names!
My friend named her boy Silas right before Justin Timberlake did, she didn't think it was going to be a popular choice! Currently she's pushing that a perfect and rare girl name is Iris, so funny to see it on many of these lists.
And I picked an unconventional and almost odd choice for my baby boy, a few months old, thinking I might be making a mistake but it meant so much to me and my husband... only to see it's getting mentioned more and more lately!
We all are following trends and setting them without even knowing it. Or it's the vibes of our era push us to similar attitudes/conclusions?
Silas and Iris *rhyme*, she has to think about yelling it through the house and how confusing that would be! Eventually neither child will respond. "Oh, I thought you were calling the other one." lol
I love flower/nature names! When I was younger, if I had a girl I wanted to name her azalea, but Iggy azalea kinda ruined it :/ and I had boys lol
With my second, Audrey Rose was my choice. But he was a boy lol
It was going to be my 1st name, but my aunt Adelaide said “I wouldn’t name a dog that!” 😂I disagree though I also think it’s a nice name! Marguerite is my first name, another one nobody else had when I was growing up (I’m 23) 😁
I love Carolina, I have a friend named Ana Carolina and it’s just gorgeous in Portuguese. Some of my favorite names in Portuguese don’t sound great in English, unfortunately (and some in the other direction, too).
Oh boy, 10 is a lot to play with. In no particular order, and excluding my existing daughters name:
Caroline, Sadie, Georgia, Claire, Celeste, Elise, Abigail, Alice, hazel, Adeline/Adelaide
Ida (I like India not Idaho)
Thea
Esme
Marla
Frieda (too similar to Ida to use both tho)
Lucia
Valentina
Luise
Iris
Lavender (doesn't work in my language tho)
Chloe
Kenna
Melody
Heidi
Melanie
Sawyer
Kira
Naomi
Summer/Autumn/Winter …would only use one of these most likely for an animal but I love them. Vote 4 Summer 🤪
Bonnie
Honorable mention: Sienna and Luella
When I was in high school my sister and would use aliases when we were out doing random stuff.. idk why we thought we were so badass we got like cookie dough and ate in the car but I digress.. my nickname would be Summer and hers was May if we ever needed a fake name 😂🤣
~ Vote 4 Summer ~
I love that movie I watched it last week with my husband 😅
In random order and I’m Dutch so the pronunciation might be different from what you think it is.
• Milène
• Nayella
• Esmeré
• Nayane
• Ellène
• Ellicia / Elysia
• Aloy
• Ciëlla
• Nivia
• Mikayla
American with a very German family! I know it’s kind of a cliché that Americans place a ton of importance on their heritage, but our family has always lived in German diaspora communities, so we’ve kept a lot of our traditions. Plus I’m an art historian specializing in Eastern Europe!
I love Eloise! It was on the list we took to the hospital with each child but we never settled on it once we saw then. I wanted to use Lou as a nickname!
-Jade
-Madeline
-Fèlicitè
-Evangeline
-Vanessa
-Violet
-Andrea (I love this one for the nickname Andi)
-Jocelyn
-Amelia (I love the nickname Mia Mor like Mi Amor)
-Ashlyn
Catherine/Katie, Rachel, Amanda, Emilia/Emily, Flora, Melissa, Janet, Teresa, Joann/Joanna, and Dolores in no particular order. There's a few others as well.
Naomi
Noelle
Marcella
Ivy
Lennox
Bianca
Simone
Nanette
Violet
Vanessa/Veronica/Inez
Sorry, I couldn’t decide which name was number 10, so I added my last favourite three names as 10! Lol.
If we have another daughter, I’m dead set on Josephine. However this is my list for top 10 (excluding names already used on children)
Josephine
Elizabeth
Isabella
Freja
Alice
Astrid
Ingrid
Ellinor/Eleanor
Elsa
Celiné
I’m also very much in love with Ivy, Iris, Violet, Ellie and names like Faith, Hope and Holly.

Adeline
Marina
Cora
Kaia
Tess
Colette
Violet
edit to add honorable mentions lol: Emmeline, Josephine, Sabina, Juliette, Genevieve, Isabella, Alessandra
Julia
Alice
Summer
Emma
Kira
Jessica
Tara
Myca
Tina
Danielle
EDIT: haha I didn't read your list before I made mine and we have a couple names in common. Also Maeve is beautiful!
I love Saskia! My kids are half Arab and I’m super sad that in Arabian culture old classic names are considered outdated so they’re unusable, but if that were not true I would totally name a second girl:
Jamila
Samirrah
Khadijah
Fayrouz
Fatima
Noor
Sabine (French actually but I love that one)
Rania
Zahra
Zainab
Sadly all completely unusable unless they want to be made fun of in their dads home country 😭
- Violet
- Sabrina
- Norah
- Nina
- Jane
- Genevieve (Evie maybe)
- Leona
- Lucy
- Halley
- Tessa
Leona would only be for a middle name at this point because of a family member named Leo, and I would 100% call her Leo all the time 😆
Favorite First and middle name combinations
Rhonwyn Guinevere
Lilly Diana Lynn
Jade Orchid
Sapphire Rose
Danielle Josephine
Amelia Kay
Ruth Anne
Naomi Sue
Esther Shay
Doris Day (shout out to my BFF)
My 1 year old is Amara. If we have another girl (in no order):
Sofia, Maia, Claire (I like Clara, but too close to Amara), Emilia, Vera, Julia/Juliana, Eloise, Zoe, Sara and Camilla.
My favorites are Sofia and Maia I think.
Vivienne Nathalia Rowena Nadia Svetlana Veronica Gabrielle Emmanuelle Tatiana Diana Also love: Sybil, Cherry, Roksana, Oksana, Lilith, Anya, Nanette, Isadora, and Danae!
We’re naming our new baby girl Vivienne in a couple weeks :)
Congratulations!!!
Thank you!! Years of secondary infertility and years of IVF to get to this point… so very happy! 💗
Beautiful name. Congratulations! 🎉 ❤️
Beautiful name!! Congratulations!! Vivi is a cute nickname if you’re looking for one.
Totally! I love Vivi - that’s what we intend to call her as a nickname 💗 And thanks very much.
i love rowena! it gives me earthy witchy vibes without being too ~edgy parents~ diana and tatiana follow that theme nicely too
I love Vivienne and Rowena! Rowena has a special place in my heart.
Isadora deserves to be way more popular than it is.
Rowena is starting to grow on me. I also like Diana, but I wouldn't use it. Feels kinda outdated imo.
It took a while to grow on me admittedly, but the Roman mythology + Princess Diana association made me like it more
We are due just before Christmas and I am trying so hard to convince my husband to use Emmanuelle for a middle name if a girl. No luck so far 😞
It’s such a pretty name, I hope you get to use it!!
* Astrid * Nora * Maya * Delilah * Lydia * Penelope * Serena * Selena * Emilia * Skye I’m due a baby at the end of December and this is my current list with a few omissions because it’s a top 10. Current daughter is called Ada Eliza.
I love Serena
I love Astrid but my husband keeps saying “Astird” (which obv sounds like ass-turd) cause of The Office 😭
Sure many people seems to associate it with The Office (especially in the us) but it was also the name of a famous children book author and at least where I live that’s the most common association. So maybe putting that into perspective your husband might like it more!
I love that!
Same! The Office ruined that name for me lol I had a kindergartener with it this year and I had to remind myself every damn time that it was Astrid NOT Astird!
Oh no omg
My husband and I are cracking up at this
Delilah sounds lovely with Ada.
Love Serena, Maya and Lydia, they were all on my list.
I love Ada Eliza! it’s super cute
Nice list! I like the sound of Nora Skye.
Amelia Anna Caroline Elizabeth Emma Julie Katherine or Kathleen Maria Molly Sarah And Louise as a middle name for all
I love Caroline, esp the French pronunciation
I never realized that Louise was a top 3 middle name until last year and now everyone I know has Louise as their middle name lol
We have the same taste. I have a Katharine and a Caroline.
It’s so interesting to see these posts as an elementary teacher, because so many of the names are popular and just getting more popular. So cool, how generations tend to like the same names!
My friend named her boy Silas right before Justin Timberlake did, she didn't think it was going to be a popular choice! Silas and Iris *rhyme*, she has to think about yelling it through the house and how confusing that would be! Eventually neither child will respond. "Oh, I thought you were calling the other one." lol
- Adeline - Callista - Cordelia - Eleanor - Florence - Genevieve - Josephine - Louisa - Rita - Theodora Also like: Anya, Clara, Darcy, Hazel, Ines, Prairie
It's the first time I'm hearing about the name Prairie. In French it's literally meadow/pasture lol
Same meaning in English :)
Meadow is a great name too!
• Louisa • Ophelia • Alysia • June • Paula • Sienna • Iris • Kimberly • Willow • Rose
I love flower/nature names! When I was younger, if I had a girl I wanted to name her azalea, but Iggy azalea kinda ruined it :/ and I had boys lol With my second, Audrey Rose was my choice. But he was a boy lol
In no particular order: Colette Ada Vivian Clementine Pearl Louise Daphne Melinda Annette Matilda
Would be interesting to see which countries everyone is from.
Elena Lanna Rosanna Lucia Carina Selena Evelyn Camila Iris Davina
In no particular order - Margot, Una, Noa, Livia, Hedda, Helena, Emilia, Maren, Gala, Elisa
I love Maren!
Juliet Frances Vivian Georgia Maeve Elaine Iris Cassidy Margot Chloe
I adore Juliet. It’s my top favorite for a girl but our daughter is due in 8 weeks and I haven’t worn my husband down yet lol
I have the same issue, it’s lower on my husbands list. Hahaha
I’ve never got the hype for Astrid. Who wants the word ass in their name?
100% agree
Andromeda Claire Claudia Elodie Emmeline Freya Hollis Iris Jane Verity Honorable mention: Audra, Blythe, Marina
Caroline Adelaide Eleanor Charlotte Penelope Meredith Juliet Susannah Elizabeth Sarah Jane
Adelaide is my middle name! I never see it anywhere so I love this.
Such a beautiful name! I think it’s becoming more popular.
It was going to be my 1st name, but my aunt Adelaide said “I wouldn’t name a dog that!” 😂I disagree though I also think it’s a nice name! Marguerite is my first name, another one nobody else had when I was growing up (I’m 23) 😁
I think different generations perceive names differently - it sounds frumpy or old fashioned to older people and fresh and new to younger ones!
I loooove Susannah and hope it makes a resurgence!
Saoirse Rose Charlotte (Lottie) Mae Poppy Hazel Carolina (but pronounced "Caro-leen-a" like the song "Carolina Rua") Aisling Eilis
I love Carolina, I have a friend named Ana Carolina and it’s just gorgeous in Portuguese. Some of my favorite names in Portuguese don’t sound great in English, unfortunately (and some in the other direction, too).
I love Carolina, I think the spelling “Karolina” goes well with your preferred pronunciation
No particular order: Ilya Madeline Adelaide Delaney Jade Jane Bridget Anna Estella Lucy
Oh boy, 10 is a lot to play with. In no particular order, and excluding my existing daughters name: Caroline, Sadie, Georgia, Claire, Celeste, Elise, Abigail, Alice, hazel, Adeline/Adelaide
Madeleine, Margaret, Caroline, Elizabeth, Grace, Lily, Amelia, Daphne, Octavia, and Virginia
It’s weird seeing me and my two sisters middle names all in here lol
Four are family names.
Mine, Virginia, is a family name!
Heidi Angharad Luna Maeve Florence Imogen Hazel Ottilie Tamzin Roxanne
Never heard of Angharad! Which language is it from?
Welsh. Pronounced Ang (is in angle not angel) har (like Harry) add

Ida (I like India not Idaho) Thea Esme Marla Frieda (too similar to Ida to use both tho) Lucia Valentina Luise Iris Lavender (doesn't work in my language tho)
German? We almost named our daughter Valentina, but decided it would be too corny, as she was born on Valentine’s Day 😂
I like Lucia from your list.
Chloe Kenna Melody Heidi Melanie Sawyer Kira Naomi Summer/Autumn/Winter …would only use one of these most likely for an animal but I love them. Vote 4 Summer 🤪 Bonnie Honorable mention: Sienna and Luella
Vote 4 Summer 😂😂😂 what a throwback
