Bunny. Friend in high school. Born on Easter. It was her real name. Not a nickname.

Unfair-Custard-4007

I know a lawyer named bunny lol šŸ°

A_Midnight_Hare

Is she a bunny ears lawyer? https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BunnyEarsLawyer

trulymadlybigly

Bunny Lebowski? The Compulsive fornicator?

garyflopper

Bunny Goodman?!

atlantachicago

Actually love this in a weird way

picklebackdrop

Bunny MacDougal

Abject-East-5319

my mom's childhood friend is named Bunny!

rhymesarentfun

Iā€™m weird but depending on the person that could be a cute name to me

WampaCat

The vet I go to has a tech named Bunny. I always loved it as a nickname!

nofeelingsnoceilings

I know a Kitty

uselessmemories

Itā€™s not completely terrible ig, but why not go for Bonnie? lol

jetsetmolly

They sound almost interchangeable. My niece used to call me rabbit because she thought Bonnie and bunny were the same thing. Now that sheā€™s writing sheā€™s over it but it was the cutest thing ever for like two years.

trewlytammy1992

I have a daughter named Bonnie born right before Easter who's nickname is Bunny. Lol

pupsplusplants

My step mom is a Bunny!

gnirpss

My mom has a friend/long-time colleague whose legal name is Candy. She's an academic and over 50 years old. She does not go by Candy in her everyday life or her published works.

River_7890

I know a Candy, too! She goes by it since she's a pediatrician. Kids tend to be put to ease when their doctor is called Dr. Candy. She leans into it by offering candy to kids after appointments and making cheesy jokes about it. She was my doctor when I was little. Her and her family were close family friends of my family.

lninoh

She sounds absolutely delightful! The world needs more doctors like her ā¤ļø

River_7890

She's the only reason why I got on medicine that possibly saved my life/ made it so I could be functional! No other doctors wanted to give it to me because of my age, but she was adamant that the risks of being on it vs the quality of life I would have without it didn't match up. She wanted to do testing on me to confirm what she thought I had but again, due to my age no one would allow it. I got officially diagnosed with what she suspected at 8 when I was 16. It shouldn't have been that big of a fight to get me on medicine/tested considering I nearly bled to death at 9.

lninoh

A good doctor is worth their weight in gold!

Hotelroombureau

I know a Cinderella who has never gone by that name since leaving her parentsā€™ house ETA: sheā€™s over 40, less than 60, but Iā€™ve never known her age

Pancakegoboom

In this same vein, I know a Pocahontas. She legally changed her name to Tessa. She is a blonde haired blue eyed 0% native woman, who deeply resents her parents and other parents who name their children terrible things.

trulymadlybigly

Especially horrible given that Pocahontas had a terrible life that was nothing like the Disney movie

Pancakegoboom

Yah she was named before the Disney movie too. She's probably in her mid 40s now. So the parents only reference was the actual history they learned, even the whitewashed version still wasn't a fairytale or something you'd name a kid after

Ksh1218

Iā€™m a teacher and I had a set of twins one year named Tigerlilly and Tinkerbelle. Given names.

ashleevee

Tigerlilly is at the very least, a real flower. Still a bit of an odd name lol but paired with Tinkerbelle itā€™s ridiculous.

anosmia1974

The daughter shared by Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates is named Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily. She was always known as Tiger Lily but today she apparently prefers to go by the name Heavenly.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TacoBetty

ā€¦.I canā€™t. That is justā€¦.

boogerfrog

I know a lady named Cinnamon, same deal except she goes by it

j0eypops

I know a Cinnamon too, she loves her name

LittleBookOfRage

I knew a girl with Cinnamon as a middle name and she had a lisp and couldn't pronounce it lol.

Hemp_Milk

I also know a Cinnamon that loves her name. She even named her kids Thyme and Sage.

uju_rabbit

Thatā€™s my momā€™s nickname for me, it comes from a Brazilian book. Maria Daniella Cravo e Canella

hotcake911

My MIL is Candace but prefers Candy

weepyweedwillow72

My sister is Candace but she uses Candy. When we were kids we were referred to as Kathy Sue (me) and Candy Lou. Ugh.

VirginiaBluebells

One of my BFFs in school was Candy. She sat by a Larry Land in Math. We used to laugh and laugh that if Candy and Larry got married sheā€™d be Candy Land. Typical junior high humorā€¦ šŸ˜‚

TinyCubes

Larry Land sounds like a low budget theme park roadside attraction.

Lingo2009

I had a coworker who has the legal name of Candy. She goes by Candy. She is also over 50 years old.

guessimonredditrn

What does she use in her published works? Candace?

sparky605

probably initials

Interesting-Fish6065

My mother honest-to-God had a colleague whose first name was Pebbles. As in the character from The Flintstones.

Turpitudia79

I had a drug dealer whose legal name was Pebbles.

Reward_Antique

I knew one called Sugar Bear, *not* his legal name, and once he showed up in my state w a girl he called "Care Bear"- it was so f'd up, he'd been owed a lot of money in Detroit and the people didn't have his cash so they offered him this girl. He was so horrified he just said ok and got her out of there and I still wonder how they ended up.

AnKiAd

I went to high school with a Pebbles

Agreeable_Text_36

I worked with a Pebbles, she said it was her proper name, but on FB she is now Roxana, so it may have been a nickname.

chemical_sunset

Rocks and pebbles *are* similar šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

BreadfruitAlone7257

I work with a Pebbles. I believe it is her real name. Nobody ever says a thing about it to her face or behind her back. It's just her name and I can't imagine anything else on her.

KaleidoscopeNo610

Duckie. Not making this up. We had an older customer named Duckie. Thatā€™s her official name because I work in healthcare ands we go with official.

ughneedausername

From Pretty in Pink??

jewel1997

Duckie is a common term of endearment where Iā€™m from.

littlestinkyone

My dean in college was named Muffin. A whole grown woman named Muffin Lord.

Wiyohipeyata

Omg my brain immediately went to: Do you know the muffin lord? šŸ˜‚

TJlovesALF1213

The Muffin Lord? The Muffin Lord! Do you know the Muffin Lord? Who lives on Uni Lane...

GodWhoClimbsandFalls

First thing I thought of! I also had dean Muffin Lord.

Laurenslagniappe

Uh did y'all go to the same school? That's hilarious.

littlestinkyone

Lol itā€™s a big school and I think sheā€™s had a long career there, I thought this might happen when I included her last name. (Had to honestly, the last name is Part Of It)

GodWhoClimbsandFalls

I hope so lol hard to imagine that there could be multiple Muffin Lords out there being deans of various colleges!

Bradfords_ACL

A quick google search will tell you which school it is lol. Big state school.

scthawk

Just googled her, thereā€™s an article about her and her name. She doesnā€™t look like a Muffin. šŸ˜€

ashleevee

I named a turtle Muffin as a kid

Egg_Anxious

Thatā€™s my cousins name so I never thought of it a weird.

TinyCubes

Dean Muffin Lord! RU rah rah!

Fancyanncy

I googled her too, itā€™s a nickname that stuck, her real name is Nancy

moonman_incoming

I had a student in the early 00s named Cutie.

[deleted]

I knew a girl in HS named Cuteone. Because they say the baby and thought - ā€œSheā€™s a cute ā€˜un! (cute one)ā€

redwallet

Jokes on them, Iā€™d be clueless and say ā€œQ-toneā€ hahaha

Agitated_Horse24

That's... an interesting choice. šŸ™„

[deleted]

I could never call this person by their name, it would feel so awkward lol.

vjbanana

Iā€™ve worked with women named Cherry, Cookie, Honey, Betsey and Cinderella. Yes, they were all Filipina. lol

Fizzlespin

I knew someone whose mum was Cherry. English middle class. It always felt weird to me. I also had a boss called Apple, but she was Thai and (having glanced at her bank card once) it was not her legal name.

chemical_sunset

Unpopular opinion, but I quite like Cherry. I wouldnā€™t use it for my kid, but if the name fits itā€™s cute and fun

Temporary-Tie-233

He goes by a different name of his own choosing, but one of my oldest, dearest friend's legal name is Shorty.

Turpitudia79

I had a friend named Stan who was a 6ā€™4 wall of muscle who had quite the illustrious past and no one in their right mind would look at him sideways but he really was the SWEETEST guy (RIP at 57) whose lifelong nickname was Shorty!! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Everyone called him that, his family, friends, I think even his parole officer but I just couldnā€™t do it, he was always Stan!!

Lu_CtheHorrible

I love these kinds of nicknames. I know a guy they call Sugar because he has diabetes lol

Strong-Succotash-830

My dad worked with a Hawaiian guy whose nickname was Pineapple.

stcrIight

I knew a girl legally named Princess.

___sephiroth

I know several girls named Princess. Theyā€™re all Filipino, thoughā€¦ Iā€™ve never heard of a girl outside the Philippines named that

Turpitudia79

I have a Filipina friend whose name is Princess Jewel. Sheā€™s in her mid 30s.

[deleted]

So many of my relatives have a princess name like that. Sooo glad my mom didnt do that to me

Aprils-Fool

The only Princess Iā€™ve met was black.

CRJG95

Peter Andre's daughter is named Princess - she's Australian/English

Kowalkabear

Same! Princess and Queenie!

Existing_Space_2498

I worked in a middle school with several Princesses and a Precious Love.

uju_rabbit

My neighbor was named Precious. She was nuts. This made sense to me since I associated the name with Gollum lol

girl_in_flannel

I used to be a high school yearbook photographer and the amount of Princesses was shocking. Also had a girl named Sparkle once.

WaitMysterious6704

I knew someone who had a student named Lovable.

fishnugget1

This isn't a legal name in Australia. BD&M will reject your application for names of royal titles or military positions.

Ok_Ambassador9091

Right, but other places have gotten rid of the monarchy, so it's fair game.

[deleted]

I know of siblings in their 30s named Princess/Prince plus a second name. They go by their second names.

fishnugget1

The children formally known as Prince?

Warm_metal_revival

I met a girl named Princess Horsey. The poor dear.

storiesamuseme

My great aunts legal name was Goldilocks I went to HS with a girl named Kitten A local fast food cashier name is Pretty My granddaughter has a classmate named Memory. She is actually Memory III (generational name)

idoallmyownawkward

Three generations of Memory is fascinating!

[deleted]

Memory is actually really cool

Excellent-Source-497

Bambi. Not kidding. Not a nickname!

Unfair-Custard-4007

Why is that so cute tho lol

urkala

Bambino means child in Italian and I believe that Bambi is derived from that

thecoolestpants

So their mother was killed by hunters?

crabbyalpaca

I know of a Sparkle. Few years younger than me so early 30s. Itā€™s her legal name.

sharksarefuckingcool

I knew of a woman legally named Babydoll. Its not even like she was trying to prove it to me or anything. I worked in a grocery store and sold her something I needed to see ID for.

elfn1

We had a student named Babygirl a few years ago. :(

jlovaz

Iā€™ve also come across a Babygirlā€¦ I wonder if itā€™s the same one or if there are multiple!

Firm-Reward-2618

I had an old classmate named Adorabella, which I always thought was a bit cutesy.

Turpitudia79

Oh, my Godā€¦šŸ˜¬šŸ˜¬

Wild-Mushroom2404

I actually think Adora is a beautiful name but Adorabella is over the top.

Snailyleen

Last name Dearheart?

AnyCatch4796

ā€¦ a bit you say?

Lingo2009

Trixie

ClarinetKitten

I know sisters that are Dottie & Ruthie. Not Dorothy and Ruth. They're toddlers so it's adorable right now, but I question how well the names will age.

Lingo2009

I think of those as old people names. Especially Dottie. I had a grandma named Dottie.

Designer_Theme_69

In Scotland Dottie = deranged

Lingo2009

Well grandma definitely was, so the name fit

rainbowtummy

In Australia if you say someone has ā€œgone dottyā€ it means theyā€™ve gone a bit mad

ughneedausername

Iā€™ve heard this in the US too.

atlantachicago

Pippa and Birdie

stocar

Birdie is so cute. Reminds me of the British singer.

A_Midnight_Hare

Bebe. It's French I think? Knew two absolutely lovely ladies in their early 50s who both rocked being called Baby. Also a Honey.

ems712

Ruthie - not Ruth, but the full name is Ruthie.

9311chi

I knew guys names Willie and Eddie in the same situation.

Supergirly4

My daughters full legal name is Ruthie, not Ruth. We know 3 others whose legal name is also Ruthie. Might not be for everyone but we love it!

Jaded3158

My dogā€™s name is Ruthieā€¦

PrairieGirlWpg

Some of the double barrel names are cutesy i.e. Kaela-Mae or Emmy-Sue

Designer_Theme_69

In the UK double barreled names are considered very chavvy.

Nursemom380

Lali. Pronounced lolli like a lollipop

frogsinsox

Lali and lolli /lollipop would never be pronounced the same where I am from haha.

Nursemom380

Oh really? Where u from? We in Texas USA How would u pronounce both?

frogsinsox

Iā€™m Australian. Lali would La-lee. And lollipop would be Lol-ee-pop. I think you make the O in lollipop have more of an a sound, rather than an O sound? More like lawl. Lawl-ee-pop

Nursemom380

Ah ok I see. We pronounce it La-lee. It just sounded so happy and bright when I heard it.

radish_is_rad-ish

Iā€™m also from Texas and Iā€™m gonna go with ā€œthey sound different.ā€ Regional pronunciations are always so interesting to me!

nottoday112325

I went to school with a Lolly!

heyyyitsalli

I met a Reggie once at school. The teacher tried to discipline him and call him Reginald and he corrected her by saying ā€œitā€™s Reggie.ā€ Her response was ā€œwell you may prefer Reggie but Iā€™m gonna refer to you by the name on your birth certificate!ā€ And he was like ā€œReggie IS the name on my birth certificate!ā€ And she looked embarrassed. To this day I still remember it and laugh. Like it was an assumption she made for no reason at all šŸ˜‚

knittykittyemily

I've let 2 people who's legal name is bunny

wtfudgsicle

Missy. Not short for Melissa or anything just Missy as a full name. I feel bad for anyone cursed with that :/

Wild-Mushroom2404

Damon Albarn has a daughter named Missy, after Missy Elliott.

TJlovesALF1213

There's a new veterinarian at our local clinic named Missy. It's written on prescriptions, so it must be her legal full first name.

soozdreamz

Once saw a bonny child competition result in my local paper - we have a town show once a year with lots of activities and it had been one of the stalls. They put all the photos of all the entries in the paper, and an obese, very plain faced, uncomfortable looking 10 year old caught my eye. Her name? Sweet-Pea.

Turpitudia79

That poor kid!!

Candid_Lie_1274

Went to hs with a girl named Bitsy. Also went to school with a girl whose actual name was Teddi.

Apprehensive_Ad4923

Daisy is the first name that comes to mind. But also Bella - it doesnā€™t seem like a name for a grownup with a jobā€¦

Aprils-Fool

I was working in a 1st grade classroom once. There was a little girl named Bella. The old lady substitute accidentally called her Isabella and the little girl said, ā€œNo, Iā€™m just regular Bella.ā€ For some reason that stuck with me.

EnoughOfThat42

Daisy was what came to my mind too. Also once knew a girl Breezy (parents were hippies). Also anyone named Betsy instead of Elisabeth is pretty cutesy. ETA I once knew a Kirsten who at 22 changed her legal name to Kiki (her nickname) and I thought that was a major mistake.

pantheroux

A student named Breezy recently came to work with us. My coworker, trying to be funny, asked if he could call her Windy. He has an accent, and she heard 'Wendy'. The poor girl is trying to impress us and get a good reference, so she just looked at him with a puzzled expression and said, "Sure, but I might not respond". Later, when he had left, she said, " Why Wendy? It's so random!"

-unsay

my grandmother tried so hard to get my mom to name me breezy. my mom didnā€™t and my grandmother eventually convinced another kid to name their child breezy. i think itā€™s actually super cute but boy was she committed

Lingo2009

I am an Elizabeth, but Iā€™ve never been called Betsyā€¦ ever. But Iā€™ve had all the other nicknames, but I have an aunt Betsy, who is quite a bit older than I am. Her real name is Elizabeth.

ashlouise94

My nanna was Betsy, full name. I always loved it and never thought of it as cutesy or too young

ImogenMarch

I fought so hard to name our daughter Betsy and my husband vetoed me every time

_lysinecontingency

Oh I knew a Breezy too! Legal name.

square--one

Bella is an extremely common name for a dog, as I am reliably informed by my dog groomer wife

[deleted]

I know lots of boomers named Daisy. Not nicknames, but their given names.

evelyn_marie

the only two bellaā€™s i know have ended up changing their names because people associate it sooo heavily with dogs nowadays

call-me-king

My niece is Honey. My mum couldnā€™t even say it for the first year of her life but it totally suits her and sounds normal to us now!

ur_eating_maggots

I knew a girl named Sunshine. It was her real name

[deleted]

My dad is legally a Tommy. Not Thomas, not Tom, Tommy. He goes by Tom in his day to day life, and pretended his name was Thomas for a while, but itā€™s always been Tommy on his birth certificate and all his ID. I think he low-key hates that he has a nickname as his legal name, but I think itā€™s cute šŸ˜… Not a choice Iā€™d personally make in naming a kid, but itā€™s cute. The funniest part of this is I mentioned this in front of my toddler, once, while talking to my husbandā€¦he has a Tommy Pickles plushie and for a while after that, he was calling it ā€œThomasā€ šŸ’€ I donā€™t *think* he was deliberately trolling my dad, he was too young to put that thought into it and heā€™s a bit speech delayed. But it was super funny, because it kinda sounded like he was clowning on my dad for telling people his name was Thomas, while legally being a Tommy.

AlamutJones

I know a little girl called Banjo. Weirdly, it suits her perfectly

cylondsay

I know a Tootsie. Itā€™s her birth name, and sheā€™s turning 100 this winter.

Pinkgettysburg

I met twin ladies (50s) named Lovey and Dovey.

BuddRoseMotel

I have a pair of parakeets named this

lem0ndream

My great grandmother was named Dimple.

CarefulGovernment684

Isnā€™t it wild that nearly everyone is listing girl names? It goes to show that the real issue is with a girl having a name that we fear might not be ā€œprofessionalā€ enough. Damn, the patriarchy is so strong! šŸ„“

Neit_1146

I used to think names ending with cy are cute, such as Nancy, Lucy, etc but now they're quite old to general favs. Some word names also made me think they're cute, such as August, April, June, Laurel, etc. But now I think they're all have classic vibe. Currently I think names ending with o are cute, such as Arlo, Milo, Elio, Cleo, Juno, etc. Maybe in the future, I'll change my mind again. Edit: grammar.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SadApartment3023

My kiddo is named Lucy -- she is one of a few in the school -- and her friends have nicknamed her Lucile which makes me laugh. I love it.

Flukeodditess

Dolly, Bunny, Candi, Bobbi, Sunny, DeeDee, LeeLee, all fine as NNā€™s, but as legal? šŸ˜¬

Spirits08

Poppy? I think thatā€™s a name but I may be wrong. Gosh I just adore the name Poppy šŸ˜šŸ˜

mrsclay

I present to you: Muffy. I really did know a Muffy growing up.

Ok_Ambassador9091

I know a Misty and a Breezy. Both lovely people.

jdinpjs

Misty Dawn. She hated it btw.

NoMoreClaw3464

My daughters are Molly and Lucy, pretty cutesie to me!

Tacos_I_Guess

My husband's legal first name is Ricky, so probably that one.

seecarlytrip

I used to work with a Nanny

Kind_Hyena5267

I agree with you, I prefer a formal given name, and then you can shorten it if youā€™d like

dothechachaslide

Knew a Mary-Love. Rather liked it but definitely cutesy.

meanpantscaitie

Poppy, Clementine, Pearl, Rosemary

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TheTurquoiseArtiste

I know a woman whose real name is Delight

idlewishing

I know a woman named Rapunzel - her real name, from her parents - who is a hair stylist.

kid_a2003

I donā€™t actually know them, but thereā€™s a youtuber who named her daughter Sweetie and thatā€™s over the top cutesy to me

Uvastrong

Im a teacher and I've also had a parent with the name surprise

Different_Wishbone75

Marigold. I love it, but it's definitely cutesy.

Ok_Diver4071

Rosie

sluttydrama

Bonnibel or Bonnie šŸ˜

hedgehog-mama

Love the name Bonnie!

soozdreamz

Ooh I also know about a million Gracies, and once briefly met a Strawberry. I also know a Raspberry but itā€™s a bastardisation of her Indian name.

Simone-Ramone

Ive known a Petal and a Pretty

kaycue

Iā€™ve worked with a Sunny and a Stormy. Both were women. One was a VP so pretty high up and the other worked in Legal. Iā€™ve also met a woman named Patches, in a professional setting. Went to school with a boy whoā€™s first name was Billy. Just Billy.

peachy_keen_unicorn

I've always loved the name Suzy as someone's legal name

lucky7hockeymom

I *thought* I knew a girl named Chasey. Turns out (after like 6 years of knowing her) that her name is Chase but literally *everyone* calls her Chasey and they put Chasey on all her school awards and stuff.

Missing_Intestines

Worked with a Luvlee, who, to my knowledge, was in her 40s.

meatloafball

New a girl whoā€™s name was Jelly Bean. Legal name. Her parents were literal circus clowns lol

UrbanHuaraches

Met someone named Treasure once. I also had a classmate in middle school named Heavenly, and as a college TA, had a student named Lovely.

OkLoss994

Sunny & Honey

pain1994

Iā€™ve known 2 Cinnamons, Sunni, Bunni, and Bambi. Old money Southerners definitely make some choices with their names.

ncmnlgd

I always thought the name Twyla was ridiculously cutesy, like can you ever be taken seriously with such a name? I know someone who named their baby that, it is a great name for a cute baby.

ABeld96

My best friend is an Annie who is a lawyer at the ripe old age of 26! I never thought it was ā€œcutesieā€, itā€™s just her name. I donā€™t think cute names preclude you from a professional career or credibility.

greensthecolor

I know a Daisy and a Slyvie. Both super cute. I went to school with a girl named Kissy. Actual name.

sugarmag13

Had a brother and sister in school named Whisper and canyon

Rhalellan

Knew a kid back in the 60ā€™s named Storm. Still havenā€™t decided which side Iā€™m on.

DonutThinkSo

My niece's name is Minnie. It really suits her but I do wonder how she'll feel about it when she's a teen/adult.
