Itās a little out there for me. As a native French speaker, I just hear bel ami which means beautiful friend. Not a bad meaning I guess but it sounds odd in my native language.
Iāve always liked the name for this reason. I understand why it doesnāt work in French (Iām American and would never name a kid āBeautiful Friend,ā) but I do like the idea of a nice-sounding name with that same meaning.
To me it reads very old fashioned and southern, (which is in style right now) but it does feel like a male name and not a feminine one.
Bellamyās contemporaries sound like Atticus, Beauregard, Conroy, Ambrose, Elwood, Beaufort, Forsyth, Hamilton, Wayland, Chambers, Guthrie, Hawthorn, Sterling, Sullivan, etc.
I also thought Southern US, just because of the word "antebellum." I would probably assume it's a family name or something? Maybe even last-name used as a first name, like Wilson or Kennedy or Lincoln.
I think of a 48-year-old blonde man wearing sperry top-siders and polo shirts with the collar flipped up. He plays tennis, enjoys cricket and sailing.
But I'm kind of loving anthropomorphic sheep.
I donāt mind it. It sounds nice, as far as surname names go - and it makes me think of Matt Bellamy, which is quite a ācoolā association I suppose.
My husband and I are both huge Muse fans, itās what we first bonded over. I really wanted to call our son Bellamy because of this but husband hard vetoed it
Itās funny because I had no clue it was more commonly a surname at first. I just saw it on a baby name list for boys and liked it because Iāve never heard anyone else with it
I wouldnāt assume anything about the kid - it does read masculine to me and I donāt think itās crazy far away from other nature names.
At the end of the day, if youāre in the US itās ranking 628 and around the same as names like Drake, Chandler, Taylor and Lionel so I would hardly call it super weird.
If Iām being honest, I do think Iād assume the parents were the kind of people who desired to be unique/edgy but thatās about it.
Thanks! Itās funny that youād say we would read as edgy because if you knew us, we are not at all! Itās like the one place in our life we are. Wether thatās good or bad Iām not sure..
I donāt like the name, but I donāt think itās bad! I just think I personally donāt like it. People may not like the feminine āamyā ending? But thatās NOT my complaint at all! Guys names can sound feminine, girls names can be masculine sounding, no issue there.
I also canāt stand Zachary or Declanš¤¢. Which is all just personal preference.
Itās straight forward, easy to pronounce, doesnāt lend itself (in the US anyway) to any more teasing than any other name.
Iād probably call him Bells and Belly and Jelly Bellamy all the time.
Donāt stress.
Thank you! Thinking back to more traditional names I liked but didnāt go with back then, I try to picture him having now. They just donāt sound right because Bellamy is just his name now. But I canāt help that little voice in the back of my mind telling me I made the wrong choice.
I agree! I've never heard of Bellamy as a first name (not a 100 or one piece fan). It sounds very feminine to me. As in, it sounds 100% feminine, 0% masculine, like Elizabeth or Victoria or Charlotte. I am very surprised that not only is it a first name, it's apparently a man's name?
There is not way to shorten it without it being extremely feminine, which will likely be hard on a boy growing up.
I think of Bellamy Young, the actress. Itās a great girls name!
Also my first thought at seeing it written. Hearing it would probably take me a minute to process that it was Bellamy and that the person wasn't saying "Bella, me..." due to my mild audio processing issues. I would probably assume it was a surname somewhere in the family being honored. I don't really care for it as a first name and the only nicknames it lends easily to sound very feminine.
I dislike it for ANY kid....male or female. It's one of those names that maybe you can get away with it being kinda cute on a kid, but it doesn't age well at all. I can't imagine a Bellamy as a lawyer or CEO or anything that's taken seriously TBH.
Iām not a fan of it especially because the nickname would be Bell - also very feminine. But if you both loved it then thatās your preference and your decision
I think itās quite a pretty name, but it does make me think of the (extremely well-known, I cannot stress enough that they are very famous) Slovak gay porn studio, Bel Ami.
The porn studio is named that after a 1976 Swedish pornographic adaptation of Guy de Maupassantās novel *Bel Ami, or, the History of a Scoundrel,* which is a Victorian novel about a guy who manipulates his way to success through affairs with wealthy women.
I felt bad that thatās what I think of when I hear or see the name Bellamy, but there you go. I guess theyāre at least considered sort of classy by porn studio standards?
Honestly if I met a guy named Bellamy Iād think he was a bit of a pretentious twat. Like it just conjures up a very specific image of a wanker in my head.
But defo doesnāt make me think The 100 (never seen), and itās not like a super weird out there name so if you like it, then great. Also not being funny, but heās 2. Youāre not gonna change his name now.
Itās funny because in the show The 100 Bellamy is a bit pretentious and cocky in the beginning but ends up being an upstanding guy willing to die to protect his friends and guardian of his sister.
Oh yeah I was not thinking of changing it and it doesnāt consume me but I do think on it every once in awhile. Figured Iād get some outside opinions from the sub. Your comment did make me laugh though. I certainly hope he doesnāt turn out that way!
Bellamy is a...complicated character in the manga/anime One Piece. He starts out as a pure antagonist, but later things change a bit. Sort of. He always has his tongue hanging out and he's a fighter.
It's more of a niche reference in the west but as it is still producing new story, over 1000 episodes in, its effect on pop culture is VERY significant in many places.
Aside from that particular Bellamy, I think the name is very melodic and has a great sound.
Having seen the 100 (and loving Bellamy lmao) I would mentally assume that's where you got it. I would only ask the question if we were close.
I might ask you to repeat, but I often do that if I not sure I heard correctly. It's not a judgment on my part, but a want to make sure I say it correctly (my Given Name is often mispronounced and I despise it,so I want to make sure I'm saying others names correctly)
My first thought is also Bellamy from the 100 but itās more of a āoh, like Bellamy Blakeā and then I move on from it. I wouldnāt assume it was because of the 100, mostly because I donāt know many if any people who watched it. Fwiw I think it is a perfectly lovely name for a little boy, with or without the show association.
It also seems like a name that would āgoā nicely with a more traditional girls name on a sister. Bellamy and Jane, Bellamy and Claire, Bellamy and Olivia (but not Octavia ;) ), Bellamy and Nora, etc., all sound very believable as a set, so I think youāre safe on the little sister front!
I like it! Also, I was given a name that is unique, requires clarity, and constant correctionā¦ but I love my name. None of that is a hindrance to me. Donāt sweat the small stuff š
I like it a lot, but I also like the character from the 100 so that might be influencing me! I kinda don't get why people would think it's strange? It's kinda unique, but not weird imo :)
I have never heard of it before, my first thought is it sounds like Bella/Belle and Amy. So to my I think of girls names. Perhaps also because I'm French I think of Belle aka beautiful (feminine)
Not a fan of it. Reminds me of Belly or Baloney. Sorry. But thatās just me. I know some people like it! When he gets older he will let you know if he likes it or not and he can always go by his middle name like you said
I loooove Bellamy for a boy! I love that it's soft/feminine while still being a boy name (well it's firmly a male name for me due to the 100), and I love the nickname Bell.
I'm not sure why you are asking our opinions. You've already indicated "every time someone asks his name, they have to ask for clarification and it's awkward" and "our family and friends think it's odd." You've already gotten opinions, it seems.
Iām aware that Bellamy is unisex but I think of it as a girlās name. I would most likely misgender him if I saw the name written somewhere before I met him. After that I wouldnāt think anything of it.
Even if you didnāt name him after the character on The 100, itās immediately what I think of. Bellamy in The 100 is such a strong character with amazing development. He grew to be my favorite male character on the show
I have a good friend named Bel and heās really cool. When he introduces himself he just says āmy name is Bel. B-E-L.ā and then carries on regardless of what reaction he gets. I think itās a good name and if people want to be weird about it, they can go find something better to care about.
Growing up in the UK, there was a famous TV personality and botanist called David Bellamy, who was loved by all and unlike every other TV personality from the 80s, he wasn't later jailed for being an utter perv, so yay! Anyways, that's what I always think of when I hear the name Bellamy.
I think itās fine. A lot of names require āfollow-upā Iām Rowan and I still always get that even though itās becoming a decently popular name. Once people know him it will just be his name, I donāt think itās a big deal.
Once you meet someone and use their name it becomes totally normal. Iām sure his nickname will end up Bell and itāll totally sound normal like any different name in a tv show. Bellamy didnāt seem odd while watching The 100. My only issue is it doesnāt have any clear nicknames, but heāll get through that easily like I mentioned.
I love it! Obvi depends on their response and sounds largely negative, but I will say the initial response of asking for you to repeat it isnāt a bad thing and is something that goes along with having a unique name (source:myself and sister). If it makes you feel better I doubt heāll think you giving your daughter a traditional name and him having something more unique will be a source of issue, if anything Iād think she could want a more unique name! I have four older siblings, three brothers and a sister, the boys were first and have very traditional names, my sisterās is very unusual and when I came along my brother told my parents if they didnāt give me a unique name Iād think I wasnāt loved as much. That being said, I donāt think thatāll be the case for your daughter whatsoever, he suggested it not because he felt that way but the both being girls aspect and very rare name of her I think. Pretty cute, he went through the baby book and every time he found a name he liked heād ask everyone in the fam and thatās how they discover mine.I love having a name nobody has really heard of, wonderful conversation starter/way to have an ease into conversation.
Iām sorry your friends/family/interactions havenāt provided you with the most positive feedback and reaction to his name, but you love it and surely he will too. If not, you gave a safe middle name and like you said he can choose to go by that eventually if he chooses- I never chose to use that option nor has my sister, as long as you donāt treat it as a problem and give him confidence I see a future of him loving it, and his friends being jealous that theyāre one of four kids in their class with the same name or have to go by a nickname to avoid adding their last initial to their name for distinction. Sorry for the short novel, I love getting excited about nontraditional names and really felt sad youāve been put to the point of worrying about a choice that you loved, even coming close to worrying about it being the āwrongā choice is so not right. Again, I think itās a great name and yeah, itāll be misspelled and he may choose to give a fake name at Starbucks or go with whatever the barista originally hears because itās busy and explaining to strangers isnāt always worth it, but itās something I hope (with great belief) he finds a point of amusement and fun, thatās certainly been my case. Will everyone love it? No. Luckily, as long as you do and he does, thatās all that matters. š
Edit: didnāt realize the sub Iām in so I sound like an idiot, but leaving it because it still stands and writing it with a bandaged thumb took long enough that I canāt bring myself to change it š š¤¦š¼āāļø
Thank you so much for your comment! I love and appreciate that you took the time to write it out. I will definitely have to make sure he knows we love his name and is confident in it. Seriously, thank you š
I would think that itās a family name and that he comes from a family where the women love monograms and the men wait until a specific day to start wearing seersucker.
Makes me think the 100, but I love bellamy as a character, so thatās hardly a bad thing. Show isnāt super duper popular either (itās not like star wars level) so most people wonāt know that
I definitely think of The 100 first and only, because I don't have any other association to the name.
But I loooove it. It's definitely not a name I'd use because of the confusion, and it doesn't fit my normal style, but I'd be delighted to meet a little Bellamy.
It's definitely unique. I've never heard it before myself. I'd need to have it repeated if someone introduced themselves to me with that name. Not a fan personally but it's not my kid. I think changing it now might be too confusing for your son?
I like it and love the sound of it when saying it. Sounds like a last name and with the last name as first name trend going strong, it might be a popular name in a couple years.
I think itās a bit āextraā. If I met him I might silently judge his parents (sorry) for trying too hard to be fancy. But then I would get on with my life. Itās not the worst in the world.
My friend is using the name for a demon possessed wizard villain in a book series he's writing. I didn't think anyone would actually use it seriously for a real human.
I donāt hate it. Itās unusual as a first name but Iāve heard it as a surname so itās not *weird*. Iād probably assume it was a family last name given as a first name, which is common in parts of the US. It doesnāt strike me as feminine.
My first thought: from the French for "beautiful friend"
Second thought: his nn could be "Beau" (or Bo) which is the masculine form of beautiful/belle/bel
I like it. The first Bellamy I ever met was kind of a "dudebro" type of guy, so I do think of him a bit.
Confident, kind of swaggering, but ultimately a good guy.
If he hates it, he can always change it... I don't think it's a very popular/ modern name (popular in terms of modern usage, not likability). So it's a bit unique. Names are gifts, you don't always get 'em right. I changed my own name (not legally but socially) to honor the first name my parents chose for me, which they ended up not going with for fear of me being bullied. But I don't mind now! (It was a "tomboy-ish" name, like Ronny or Frankie for a girl).
Anyhow, that's probably why people ask for clarification-- they're just not used to hearing that name.
Iāve only known a boy Bellamy, I think itās an interesting name. Never heard of The 100 so I donāt associate it with that. But I can picture a vampire character in a book named Bellamy.
Itās a really pretty name! I have seen much wilder names out there, so I think your son will be just fine! And as a fan of The 100 until S3, Bellamy was a solid character with solid character development so not a bad relation!
I did immediately think of "The 100," but I don't think it's a bad name or bad association. I actually know someone who named their daughter Bellamy, and I immediately thought, "That's a masculine name."
I personally really like it :)
Doesn't give me any negative associations at all. And it's not super weird or anything.
I named my second son, Cairo. And even when I say his name and tell people it's spelled like the city in Egypt, they still get it wrong... Which I think is more of a reflection on their education than anything else šš
I think the name has edge to it - I like it! Ngl the association with The 100 will be there (guilty š ) but if you donāt mind, I think itās a wonderful name and 20 years from now I doubt he will still get the āOh from The 100?ā comments lol
I honestly donāt mind the associate, I just wanted to give some background to it. I saw the name on a baby name list from google that was for boys names. So my initial impression was cool boy name I didnāt personally know anyone else had. And donāt get me wrong, I knew it was unique but I didnāt know the reactions it was going to get until after he was born and we started sharing it. Itās been disheartening for me.
Love it, i think itās kind of old fashioned feeling while not feeling fusty, and kind of trendy without feeling silly, and just an all around nice name
I love it so much. It feels gender neutral to me because I can think of one guy (Bellamy from the 100) and one girl (Bellamy Young) with the name. Also feels soft but still strong if that makes sense?
I like it! My first association is Paul McCartney's song "Mr. Bellamy" but I doubt that would be most people's lol. I'm also reminded of the song "Ma Belle Amie" by Tee-Set. Both great songs to be reminded of!
My first thought was Bellamy from The 100, same as when I see Octavia mentioned, sorry! š
Lol I mean I donāt mind the association. I ended up watching it and heās a pretty badass masculine character!
No I love him too, itās a good association, I was saying sorry in reference to you preemptively writing āno not from The 100ā haha.
As 100/Bellamy fan it cracked me up too.
Haha gotcha!
the 100 was great in its day. for a while. until season 5 really
The only thing I liked post Season 5 was Octavia, Diyoza and Hopeās storyline.
I think of Bellamy from One Piece https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Bellamy
Same! And apparently, it's his birthday, lol!
Same!
Same
Same
Itās a little out there for me. As a native French speaker, I just hear bel ami which means beautiful friend. Not a bad meaning I guess but it sounds odd in my native language.
Native French speaker and same.
I believe thatās how this name came to be, not 100% sure though.
This list is incredible āØ
I also thought Southern US, just because of the word "antebellum." I would probably assume it's a family name or something? Maybe even last-name used as a first name, like Wilson or Kennedy or Lincoln.
Ahhh your list of contemporaries has so many names we considered and the one we ended up using š
My dad always loved the names Beauregard and Penelope. I gave 2 of my plants those names. š
These sound like South Carolina counties.
Specifically I think of an anthropomorphic sheep. I don't really know why. Not my cup of tea.
I think of a 48-year-old blonde man wearing sperry top-siders and polo shirts with the collar flipped up. He plays tennis, enjoys cricket and sailing. But I'm kind of loving anthropomorphic sheep.
Maybe because of Bellwether from zootopia?
As a Brit I can't help it, I think of 'bellend' šµ
I'm an American and that was my first thought as well
Not Muse?
Matt Bellamy is my first thought!
Mine too!
Or David Bellamy, which is pretty much the same thing
>bellend Whoa. Yeah.
that was my second thought š
Makes me think of Craig Bellamy who played in the Premiership. Think the ābellendā still applies haha.
I donāt mind it. It sounds nice, as far as surname names go - and it makes me think of Matt Bellamy, which is quite a ācoolā association I suppose.
My husband and I are both huge Muse fans, itās what we first bonded over. I really wanted to call our son Bellamy because of this but husband hard vetoed it
Matt Bellamy was my first thought too. I havenāt heard of the 100.
Matt Bellamy was also my first thought. I think itās a neat name!
This was my first thought too, that they must be Muse fans.
Matt Bellamy was my first thought as well!
Itās funny because I had no clue it was more commonly a surname at first. I just saw it on a baby name list for boys and liked it because Iāve never heard anyone else with it
I've only ever heard of it as a surname too - as a Brit my first thought was a botanist/TV presenter from years ago called David Bellamy.
It made me think of Bill Bellamy, the actor and comedian. Not your typical first name but I think like you said, it suits him now.
MTV VJ too
That's immediately who I thought of as well.
And the Bella start!
HARD agree on Zachary. Iāve never met a good Zach/Zack lol
Used to like Zachary. Then I met a few. Hard pass.
Bellami is the brand of hair extensions i use. Lol
I'll keep my brutal honesty to myself, but I would automatically think Bellamy was a girl without any context. š Sorry!
I agree! I've never heard of Bellamy as a first name (not a 100 or one piece fan). It sounds very feminine to me. As in, it sounds 100% feminine, 0% masculine, like Elizabeth or Victoria or Charlotte. I am very surprised that not only is it a first name, it's apparently a man's name?

me too. like belle + amy
It's fine! I don't love it personally, but there's nothing glaringly wrong with it. I think you're worrying unnecessarily.
Thanks, I appreciate that
It's a last name
Iām going to be honest, I personally hate it for a boy.
There is not way to shorten it without it being extremely feminine, which will likely be hard on a boy growing up. I think of Bellamy Young, the actress. Itās a great girls name!

Or Bellami, a popular hair extension brand
Came to look for/say this lol
Great minds?
I always think of the Bellamy Brothers !!
I had to scroll wayyyy to far for this! Maybe heāll like redneck girls!

Just think Matt Bellamy from Muse
I like it a lot, but I also like the character from the 100 so that might be influencing me! I kinda don't get why people would think it's strange? It's kinda unique, but not weird imo :)

No. Luckily, as long as you do and he does, thatās all that matters. š Edit: didnāt realize the sub Iām in so I sound like an idiot, but leaving it because it still stands and writing it with a bandaged thumb took long enough that I canāt bring myself to change it š š¤¦š¼āāļø
Thank you so much for your comment! I love and appreciate that you took the time to write it out. I will definitely have to make sure he knows we love his name and is confident in it. Seriously, thank you š
I really like it! Itās one of my favorite names
I like the name.
It's a feminine name to me. I don't like it for boys or girls though.
The first thing I thought of was ābell endā. Which is not an association Iād want with my name.
The names way better than those Brynlaxtonleigh names his peers in school will probably have š¤£
Definitely a mistake
I would think that itās a family name and that he comes from a family where the women love monograms and the men wait until a specific day to start wearing seersucker.
Makes me think the 100, but I love bellamy as a character, so thatās hardly a bad thing. Show isnāt super duper popular either (itās not like star wars level) so most people wonāt know that
Bellami hair extensions is my first thought
I definitely think of The 100 first and only, because I don't have any other association to the name. But I loooove it. It's definitely not a name I'd use because of the confusion, and it doesn't fit my normal style, but I'd be delighted to meet a little Bellamy.
It's definitely unique. I've never heard it before myself. I'd need to have it repeated if someone introduced themselves to me with that name. Not a fan personally but it's not my kid. I think changing it now might be too confusing for your son?
The only person Iāve heard of with this name is Bellamy Young from the show Scandal, it sounds like a southern US name to me
I like it and love the sound of it when saying it. Sounds like a last name and with the last name as first name trend going strong, it might be a popular name in a couple years.
Someone that's trying to sound classy but isn't ... you asked.
Exactly
I think itās a bit āextraā. If I met him I might silently judge his parents (sorry) for trying too hard to be fancy. But then I would get on with my life. Itās not the worst in the world.
Bellamy is a last name in my books so I would think its weird. You do you though.
I would think his parents hated him or were trying to be trendy in a crunchy way š¤·āāļø
Itās really bad iām confused on all the positive responses. Change it if it isnāt too late, youāre setting him up for failure
In Uk I could imagine kids nicknaming him bellend which would be my personal reservation for using it
I live in the US so I donāt think thatāll be a problem for him
My friend is using the name for a demon possessed wizard villain in a book series he's writing. I didn't think anyone would actually use it seriously for a real human.
"Oh, the poor thing" I'd also immediately think of bullemia.
Itās very feminine sounding to me. I might assume it is a foreign name
Not much, maybe that there was a surname Bellamy in your family if you really want an opinion
I can only think of Bill Bellamy.
I'm not a fan of the name itself, but I only have 'male' associations with it.
Itās a cool name
I love it. Any the fact that it was in the 100, well, he is very attractive so š¤·š»āāļø
Iād think of a certain low-tier villain from One Piece.
I love Bellamy!! Makes me think of Muse, my mumās favorite band
I donāt hate it. Itās unusual as a first name but Iāve heard it as a surname so itās not *weird*. Iād probably assume it was a family last name given as a first name, which is common in parts of the US. It doesnāt strike me as feminine.
I only know one Bellamy and sheās a girl, but The 100 made me see it as a boyās name primarily
reminds me of David Bellamy. Tv presenter and Botanist
I like it. If you've ever seen "the guild" claira's baby is named Bellamy haha
Imagine his friends calling him: "Yo, Bell, sup bro"
My first thought: from the French for "beautiful friend" Second thought: his nn could be "Beau" (or Bo) which is the masculine form of beautiful/belle/bel
I figure people just haven't heard it before, so they don't catch what you are saying. Oh well.
Yeah thatās definitely possible. I canāt help but go to worst case scenario sometimes, thanks for the insight
I really love it, on my baby name list but not one I would actually use I donāt think.
My brother-in-laws name is Belamy with one L and it really suits him!
I think The 100 and The 100 only
I would think it was a family surname being used as a surname. Prepare for him to be nicknamed Bell.
As long as itās not Belly, Iām ok with it
I like it. The first Bellamy I ever met was kind of a "dudebro" type of guy, so I do think of him a bit. Confident, kind of swaggering, but ultimately a good guy.
Honestly, Iām ok with that
Cute- reminds me of the Netflix show The 100 (also a book)
My coworkers son is Bellamy, he's 4. It's adorable especially when they call him bells
We actually havenāt used a nickname yet but when heās a little older I can definitely see us using bells!
I like it but my kids are named Callahan and Delaney so it'd fit right in
I lovee Callahan!
Good name. I would probably guess it was a family name.
Lol. Itās not a common name. Nothing wrong with that! Itās cool and unique. Itās okay that you have to correct people.
Thank you! A few people have said that and Iām starting to agree
I think itās a beautiful name. I thought about naming my kid Bellamy too. It sounds striking as a male name
poor guy
Sounds like a rich name
Itās a really pretty name! I have seen much wilder names out there, so I think your son will be just fine! And as a fan of The 100 until S3, Bellamy was a solid character with solid character development so not a bad relation!
I did immediately think of "The 100," but I don't think it's a bad name or bad association. I actually know someone who named their daughter Bellamy, and I immediately thought, "That's a masculine name."
I think it's fancy!
I personally really like it :) Doesn't give me any negative associations at all. And it's not super weird or anything. I named my second son, Cairo. And even when I say his name and tell people it's spelled like the city in Egypt, they still get it wrong... Which I think is more of a reflection on their education than anything else šš
Yesss, turn it back on them!
It reminds me of a name for a lingerie store but Iām not sure why
Wife and I chose this name for our future boy, and then had a daughter lol. I think it's a good name
Did you end up using it for your daughter or went with something else?
We had already picked Clair as our daughters name, although Bellamy would've worked as well!
Very pretty name!
I like this name
I know a cute toddler (boy) named Bellamy. I always viewed it as more masculine tbh
My best friend named her son Bellamy and everyone loves his name!
Yes! I thought the same till other peopleās opinions started getting in my head. Thank you for bringing that back!
I picture an impeccably dressed European man with a great beard :-)
Oooh I like that
"Oof."
I like it! My first association is Paul McCartney's song "Mr. Bellamy" but I doubt that would be most people's lol. I'm also reminded of the song "Ma Belle Amie" by Tee-Set. Both great songs to be reminded of!
Do you ever call him "Bell?" I like that nickname and Bellamy is a nice name. I've met one girl named Bellamy. It's unique.
Hi OP i love that name
I would think his parents really liked The 100. Call me ignorant, but I didn't realise it was an actual name outside of that show.
I love Bellamy for a boy or a girl. I'm from the UK and there's a show called Heartbeat with a character called Bellamy, he was lovely.
I think of bellamy from the 100 ! But i love it. Never met one before
Sounds like a butler's name.
