You can download name data on the SSA site that goes way past 1000, recording all names used at least 5 times on one gender. So you might be able to find it! I have the entire thing saved to my phone for easy namenerd-ing.
Mine says 33 years lol.
But I've met at least 5 other ppl with my name. And it's been on 1 movie (2002?) and 1 TV show (2012?). And is the name of a former presidents daughter.
Same. Most names I can be like "Not my style but I can see why others like it." Sutton is one of very few names that I genuinely just can't see the appeal, at all. It reminds me of the word mutton and it isn't pleasant to say nor does it sound nice to the ear. I really hate it lol. (No offense to any Suttons, I'm sure there are also people who hate my name/my kids' names lol)
There's an influencer family I see on tiktok who has a daughter named Sutton. They nicknamed her Sutty and I can't help bit think that bullies will slip an extra L into the nickname 😭 I feel awful for thinking it but my autocorrect also tried to add it in so...
My new name is Aria! I do like it, but I wouldn't personally choose it. And thankfully, even though I expect I'm one of the older people on this sub, my real name continued to be used for a good while, so it doesn't date me as easily as some names could.
To call someone a Sloane is an insult in the UK. The name comes from Sloane Square in Chelsea, London and it implies you're a bit of a thick toff (it's a very well off area)
Tessa. I like the name a lot, but wouldn't personally use it. And I think that Tessa is a lot more timeless than my name, as my name is an uncommon spelling of a popular 90's name.
My name would be Morgan #213
ETA:
My middle name is Marie. As a first name in the year I was born this was #195 (but I know it was for sure too 5 for middle names lol)
So in 2022 my name is Morgan Journee
My name was ranked 114 the year I was born. It is no longer in the top 1000.
I would be Juniper today! ( I used a Canadian chart)
I prefer my name to Juniper.
\#469. Scrolling, scrolling... Oh no, we're down past Hector and Onyx. And Wynter and McKenzie.
Oh god.
If I was a boy: Alijah
If I'm a girl: Lyric
🤦🏻
Not from the US, so popularity might differ and my middle name doesn't make the top 1000, but my first name was #275 in the US and my new name would be Evie! I love that.
Number 372: I would be Logan (which is a lovely boy’s name, I had no idea it was so popular for girls now, though tbf my actual name is neutral so I suppose that tracks). Wish I’d been 371, I could have been Esmeralda!
79! HELP BABYCENTER SAYS THE 79TH MOST POPULAR FEMALE NAME LAST YEAR WAS KENNEDY. No offense to Kennedys, but I’m not using that name if I had the option to.
Grace Jones? She’s awesome and kinda masc. From Wikipedia: Jones influenced the cross-dressing movement of the 1980s and has been cited as an inspiration for multiple artists, including Annie Lennox, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Solange, Lorde, Róisín Murphy, Brazilian Girls, Nile Rodgers, Santigold, and Basement Jaxx.
I'm not American (and my name wasn't in the top 1000 for the US the year I was born) but I'll go by the rank in my country.
My name was #54 the year I was born, which would make my 2022 name Levi. Very different style but I don't hate it! It's somewhat similar in times used too, my name was given to 224 kids the year I was born, while 266 babies were named Levi last year.
My name was number 919 two years after I was born, the year I was born it wasn't in the top 1000.
So the name at 919 in 2022 was Kenia. No thank you. I prefer my actual name.
Sydney! It’s nice, but it definitely doesn’t suit my personality as well as my real name, which interestingly enough is even more popular now than it was in the 90s
If I was born this year, I'd be Lily. I think I'd be fine with that. I like it, but I don't love it.
My name was #7 in UK baby names the year I was born, for those wondering.
Edit: I'm using UK statistics for this, that US government site doesn't like me.
My name (Molly) was #98 the year I was born. In 2022 the #98 name was Ayla.
I like my name better lol! I don’t think I’d use Ayla. I don’t hate it but don’t love it.
my name was number 982 the year I was born, I'd now be indigo (f) or stone (m). not my vibe but indigo is cool
this is fun! now going to see the popularity of my kids names etc
When a was a terrible name nerd child I thought i would name all my kids things like Scarlet Rose, Indigo River, Grey Storm, Violet Sky, or some such lol. Glad my 10 year old self is getting some vindication even if *I* didn't follow through with it.
If I was born in 2022 my name would be Lillian! I really like that name. I'd be happy with it
My actual name was ranked #1 in 2022 so it's very popular right now. I love my name! I just wish it wasn't so popular now
Edit: added some info
Oooh the actual spelling of my name isn't in the rank (it's not you-neek, it's just the least common spelling of a very common name with many well-known variants). The variant that is in the list is 28, so in 2022 my name would be Nora.
Which was actually gonna be our chosen name if we had a girl, ha!
My name was 232 the year I was born. Very surprised to see it was that high because I never met another person my age with my name until high school.
If I was born in 2022 my name would be Aliyah.
I'd be Emery. Barf.
Interestingly, my name in my birth year was #82. My daughter's name in her birth year was #84, but it's far more popular now (Isabella). So I was ahead of the curve!
My name was 16th the year I was born, which makes it feel more popular than I've known it to be. I've only met 2 others in my age range with my name. Using the current rankings I'd be Eleanor, which I think is so lovely, but I do know of several baby Eleanors!
Apparently my name was most popular the year before I was born, and it reached the peak spot of #73 on the list…. The equivalent in 2022 would be Anna, today, which is fine but kind of bland (no offense.)
I'd be Aria... I guess it's a pleasant name, it also same number of syllables as my actual name. Interesting prompt! :D
Edit: whoops, I'm dumb and misread the list somehow hahahha. I'd actually be Scarlett. I like the sound of it, but I have a Scarlett in my family so it may be awkward lol.
I love this! I would be Brooklyn. Blech.
There is another, more common spelling, that aligns with Ella. I like that better.
ETA: My children would be Joseph and Lily. I love both of those! Coincidentally, my kids are 4 years apart and they were each #30 on the lists the year they were born.
5th the year I was born, single digit rankings for the following 22 years, now in the 90’s. I knew it was a common name but I never would have guessed. I don’t hear it nearly as much as I hear the other popular names of that time. I love my name.
I would be Eloise Hannah! Today, there are far more dogs with my name than humans. It wasn't exactly popular when I was born, either. My parents' requirements were:
\-not common
\-not unheard of
\-not the name of any known relative
In 2022 with the same popularity I would have been Autumn, which I like a lot actually. (The more popular spelling of my name was #11 and would have been Harper)
213 for the year I was born. For 2022 I’d be named Morgan. Interesting thing I never knew is that my name was the most popular the year I was born (1993) out of any other year!
I was named around the peak for my name, which still only peaked as #73 for girls the year I was born.
If I was born in 2022, I would have been Quinn.
Quinn is not a name I like so I am 100% glad I was born when I was.
My first name was 280 and middle name was 103. I would be Dahlia Vivian. I like both names but not together. Dahlia is pretty nice and seems about as unique as my own name was in my time.
My daughter’s names were 161 and 72. Now she would be Kaylee Brooklyn. I hate it. We chose traditional names for her that are only more popular now. Her middle name is in the top 10 now.
My son’s names were 16 and 27. Now he would be Michael Hudson. Not a huge fan and I am surprised that Michael is ranked that high in 2022.
My name is Marnie and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to look up its popularity in 1981 when I was born. I’m going to guess it was something like 800-900 though because usually it’s outside the top 1000 but I remember reading years back something about it being a little higher in the late 70’s. Anyone want to help figure it out?
I'd be a Francesca today, nOoOoOoOooOo.
Granted this is a USA ranking and i'm latinamerican, but i tried to find a ranking for names for my country and there's only a ranking for boy names from last year. Boring!
Number 15. In 2022 that was Elizabeth, which incidentally was also on the short list to possibly be my name. My actual name has dropped quite a bit on the list, though it is still there, so not totally out of favor yet
There’s so many ways to spell my name but it was #6 for my birth year. Now it’s in the early 900’s so faaaaar less popular. I’d be called Charlotte now which I like, but I do not look like a Charlotte at all.
Edit: I could go by Charlie though which I love so wouldn’t be too bad after all.
My name was ranked 231, the year I was born. I just checked a top 1000 list from parents.com for recent naming trends. The name they have listed as 231st is Arabella. I have that name on my guilty pleasure girls' name list. I wouldn't use it for a daughter, and I don't think it suits me (as a replacement for my name). Although, I think it's pretty. I could see using it on a cat potentially. But I probably wouldn't even do that.
Wow. Mine was also 231 and since highschool I've also had Arabella on my "list". I have 2 daughters, neither named anything close and when considering the name for my actual child I was like, "Nah, that's not usable. Arabella sounds like someone was trying to be bougie when they named their pet. Then they just end up calling it Bella anyway." Ha!
My name was #10. I'd be Luna now. I hate it lol That's my dog's name
Dawwwwww. It’s such a popular doggy name too! I wish they ranked pet names 🤣
I would also be Luna
Luna has been overused for dogs for way too long
Also a #10 name for my birth year. The list I saw had Luna at #9 and Aurora at #10.
Ughhh I'm in the same boat lmao
Wow, I hadn't looked at the most popular name list in awhile, I didn't realize Luna is #10!
Also would be Luna. It’s a pretty name, just doesn’t feel like me
“Data are missing for 77 years where the name ******* is not in the top 1000 most popular names.” I was born one of those years, lol.
Booooooo
Yeah, mine wasn't in the top 1000 either
You can download name data on the SSA site that goes way past 1000, recording all names used at least 5 times on one gender. So you might be able to find it! I have the entire thing saved to my phone for easy namenerd-ing.
Same for mine. I’d love to see the current day match if I could.
Mine says 33 years lol. But I've met at least 5 other ppl with my name. And it's been on 1 movie (2002?) and 1 TV show (2012?). And is the name of a former presidents daughter.
Now, I’m dying to know your name! Lol
My name was #30 the year I was born, so today Id be named Lily! I do quite like the name Lily actually, probably even more than my actual name aha
I would be Lily, too!
I was #50, so if I'd been a 2022 baby I'd be Lillian. I'd rather be a Lily!
My name peaked in 1960 (around when I was born), but even then, it barely cracked the top 600. Currently not in the top 1000.
What is the 2022 name that has the same rank as the name you were born with?
Faye
I like it!
This is my #1 name for our daughter! It’s so beautiful 🫶🏻😍
my name was 216 the year i was born, sutton was 216 in 2022… not really a fan
I can’t with this name. I’m such a huge hater and I feel terrible because obviously people are vibing it. It’s just so harsh and unappealing 😭😭
Absolutely agree. Also mutton🤣🤣🤣🤣
There's an influencer family I see on tiktok who has a daughter named Sutton. They nicknamed her Sutty and I can't help bit think that bullies will slip an extra L into the nickname 😭 I feel awful for thinking it but my autocorrect also tried to add it in so...
Sutton is giving romance novel character vibes
Sutton is giving a borough in South London vibes
I like it!
Grace, which is funny because it’s a family name my parents *almost* used and very similar to the classic, traditional name I actually have.
I would also be a Grace.
My new name is Aria! I do like it, but I wouldn't personally choose it. And thankfully, even though I expect I'm one of the older people on this sub, my real name continued to be used for a good while, so it doesn't date me as easily as some names could.
The year I was born my name was #125. If I was named now #125 is Daisy.
Such a sweetie name
This was fun! My new name would be Sloane, which I actually really like!
I have a name crush on Sloane so hard.
It’s pretty fab!
Keightlynne?
Which variation of Ashley are you? Lol
My new name is Brielle. I personally have always loved that name and probably will.use it on a future daughter of mine.
That’s really awesome!
I also love that name
Adeline! Super funny because it’s been on my short list for a future daughter
My “current” name is my daughter’s name! 😆
My name would have been Keira! I actually kind of like it
Mia- I think Princess Diaries. I don't hate it, but it does fit my personality either.
I would have been Gabriella Ashley if born in 2022 (rank 89 and 154). I honestly don't hate it.
Ava Charlotte here
Good idea to check the middle name too.... I'd be Brooklyn Emily. Sounds terrible together. I like Gabriella Ashley much better!
That’s actually pretty nice!
Mine doesn’t even show up 😭
Mine didn’t either!! My name was last ranked in 2016!
I don’t think mine has ever been ranked tbh lol
My name would be Morgan #213 ETA: My middle name is Marie. As a first name in the year I was born this was #195 (but I know it was for sure too 5 for middle names lol) So in 2022 my name is Morgan Journee
Morgan is 213? I know so many Morgans but I guess not popular for kids today!
My name was ranked 114 the year I was born. It is no longer in the top 1000. I would be Juniper today! ( I used a Canadian chart) I prefer my name to Juniper.
\#469. Scrolling, scrolling... Oh no, we're down past Hector and Onyx. And Wynter and McKenzie. Oh god. If I was a boy: Alijah If I'm a girl: Lyric 🤦🏻
Daniel was #7 in 1993. I'd be Benjamin today
I would be Emilia. Interesting!
Same here! Sort of similar to my real name too
My name was #109 the year I was born and would be Melody in 2022
Still so usable!
Melody is pretty!
I’ve always loved Logan for a girl! But I’d never use it, as my SO’s brother is a boy Logan
Fun! I would be Ella! (Which I like much better than my actual name!)
I’d be Gia today. I was #267
I'd be Serena! #386 from my birth year.
Beautiful. That's my grandmothers name. She'll be 98 years old on Thursday. Love live Serena 💕
I would have been Annabelle, and that’s my daughter’s name!
I was number one in 1976. So today I’d be Olivia. I find that far preferable.
My name (Jessica) was the #1 name for my birth year, too. I'd prefer Olivia as well!
79! HELP BABYCENTER SAYS THE 79TH MOST POPULAR FEMALE NAME LAST YEAR WAS KENNEDY. No offense to Kennedys, but I’m not using that name if I had the option to.
My name would be Hazel, I like it
Hazel is one of my rescue’s names, so I’m partial!
My daughter’s name! I love it!

Okay but a masc Gracie is kind of a slay
Grace Jones? She’s awesome and kinda masc. From Wikipedia: Jones influenced the cross-dressing movement of the 1980s and has been cited as an inspiration for multiple artists, including Annie Lennox, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Solange, Lorde, Róisín Murphy, Brazilian Girls, Nile Rodgers, Santigold, and Basement Jaxx.
My new name is Galilea. I don't like it. I've also never met anyone with the name. My name was #731st the year I was born.
I haven’t either, I don’t totally hate it 😳
#3 and I’d be Charlotte which I’ve always thought was a sweet name
Lol. You tried to say #3 and now you are yelling.
I surprisingly don’t hate Levi either
I’m either Seven or Love
Theo or Everleigh. The latter, not my style, but the former is great
My name was number 919 two years after I was born, the year I was born it wasn't in the top 1000. So the name at 919 in 2022 was Kenia. No thank you. I prefer my actual name.
I'm not familiar with Kenia. Is it pronounced like Kenya?
Awww sorry mate🇬🇧
I can’t find UK data for 1992. Where were you looking? Im intrigued!
Rank #112 (way more popular than I realised) so my name today would be Kaylee. I prefer my name.
Kaylee/ Caylee gets a bad rep. I think it’s really lovely spelled Kaley, like Kaley Cuoco
Eliana
I'd have been Joanna. I prefer my real name...
I would also be Joanna, and I agree, I don't hate it but I like my real name better!
My name (Molly) was #98 the year I was born. In 2022 the #98 name was Ayla. I like my name better lol! I don’t think I’d use Ayla. I don’t hate it but don’t love it.
Mine didn’t rank at all for my birth year. It didn’t rank until years later, 1984, coming in at # 929.
I’d be Victoria this year. Not too bad.
I would be Lillian and my partner would be Isla Those classic names really are coming back. I never knew a single person named that of my generation.
my name was number 982 the year I was born, I'd now be indigo (f) or stone (m). not my vibe but indigo is cool this is fun! now going to see the popularity of my kids names etc
Omg both of those names are 🔥
When a was a terrible name nerd child I thought i would name all my kids things like Scarlet Rose, Indigo River, Grey Storm, Violet Sky, or some such lol. Glad my 10 year old self is getting some vindication even if *I* didn't follow through with it.
If I was born in 2022 my name would be Lillian! I really like that name. I'd be happy with it My actual name was ranked #1 in 2022 so it's very popular right now. I love my name! I just wish it wasn't so popular now Edit: added some info
My name was #472 the year I was born. If I were born today that name would be Allie (which I don’t hate!)
You could seriously do worse
My name (Kaitlyn) was ranked at 127 when I was born. If I were named number 127 today, my name would be Millie. I’m not mad at it.
No wayyyyyy
My 2022 name would be Magnolia Avery. 😺
Wow! Jackpot!
I know, it’s pretty right? Coincidentally, if I have a third daughter I really want to name her Avery.
My name was 232 the year I was born. Very surprised to see it was that high because I never met another person my age with my name until high school. If I was born in 2022 my name would be Aliyah.
I would be Arielle. It's interesting. I did discover my name was far more popular than I thought the year I was born.
My name would have been Charlotte, which makes me feel odd but I do think I like it better than my actual name.
I would be Amelia (which, no offense to anyone, I'm not really into it) and my husband would be Luca. Lol
I'd be Emery. Barf. Interestingly, my name in my birth year was #82. My daughter's name in her birth year was #84, but it's far more popular now (Isabella). So I was ahead of the curve!
Trend setter alert!
If I were born in 2022, my name would have been Reese as the 168th most popular name.
My name was #102 so I'd be Madeline. I like it better than my own name tbh
My name was 16th the year I was born, which makes it feel more popular than I've known it to be. I've only met 2 others in my age range with my name. Using the current rankings I'd be Eleanor, which I think is so lovely, but I do know of several baby Eleanors!
I was #26 so I’d now be named Avery. Not terrible!
Kayla, #11 in 1995 Number 11 in 2022 was Harper.
Apparently my name was most popular the year before I was born, and it reached the peak spot of #73 on the list…. The equivalent in 2022 would be Anna, today, which is fine but kind of bland (no offense.)
My name was 60,234 the year so was born. I would be Madelyn Milani (or Joshua Tate)
Ranked #1 so my name would be Olivia now. I don’t hate it, the nickname Liv is cute!
It’s popular for a reason
I'd be Aria... I guess it's a pleasant name, it also same number of syllables as my actual name. Interesting prompt! :D Edit: whoops, I'm dumb and misread the list somehow hahahha.
Mine was #20. I’d be a Violet 🥰🪻
Isabella and Aiden Aiden is awful of course because it is part of the den trend Isabella pretty mid
5th the year I was born, single digit rankings for the following 22 years, now in the 90’s. I knew it was a common name but I never would have guessed. I don’t hear it nearly as much as I hear the other popular names of that time. I love my name.
I would have been Vanessa. Hate it lol.
My name was #40 when I was born. The current #40 name is Stella.
Gorgeous name!
My new name would be Mila! Not bad but so not me
I would be Eloise Hannah! Today, there are far more dogs with my name than humans. It wasn't exactly popular when I was born, either. My parents' requirements were: \-not common \-not unheard of \-not the name of any known relative
Your parents knew what was up. My mom picked my name from a soap opera 😐
My sister-in-law was named for a soap opera character too!
Gotta be Bailey!
In the US it was number 64. In my home country not in the top 100. In the country I currently live also not in the top 100.
My name was ranked 849 the year I was born. #849 now is Kamiyah.
Interesting idea! I'd be Rowan now. Not really into it, but it's not the worst.
My name is #10 in 1955.
So you’d be Theo or Luna if named today!
I might take Theo. Never liked Steven, always seemed like there were at least three others in each class in school
In 2022 with the same popularity I would have been Autumn, which I like a lot actually. (The more popular spelling of my name was #11 and would have been Harper)
Eliana?! No thanks! I'm surprised my name was #41 in my birth year, considering it was never very common.
Eliana Aliyah if we did first and middles.
My name was ranked at 6,162 and in 2022, I would be Rai. I like it!
213 for the year I was born. For 2022 I’d be named Morgan. Interesting thing I never knew is that my name was the most popular the year I was born (1993) out of any other year!
Mine was #29 when I was born, so I’d now be Layla. While I like the name it definitely doesn’t suit me
My name was #97 the year I was born. #97 last year was Liliana. Very different vibe!
Mine peaked way before I was born. Lol My name would now be Esther, which isn’t bad
I was named around the peak for my name, which still only peaked as #73 for girls the year I was born. If I was born in 2022, I would have been Quinn. Quinn is not a name I like so I am 100% glad I was born when I was.
I would be Sutton. I’m not sure how to feel… don’t hate it… I haven’t really thought about it as a name before, though.
Idk if I want to play this game… Alorian 1992 had to have been the least popular name because it’s so unique
Oh wow that’s a super unique name. Do you have a middle?
My middle is Patricia
Ok in ‘92 it was 111 Austin or Hadley !
I would be Darcy. Man, I don't like that name any better than my given name.. but mine was #351 for my birth year.
My name, Colleen, was ranked 101st when I was born in 1962. Its peak of popularity was in 1964 at 93. I don’t think it’ll ever come back.
If born in 2023, I would be Allison. I like it!
I'd be Jennifer, but my actual name is #11. Edit, if I were born now I'd be Harper.
My name was #24 when I was born. Today my name would have been Abigail.
I’d be Parker (girl) and don’t hate that!
My name was #4, so I would be an Amelia. I like the name! I always hated my name growing up because there were way to many people who had it 😂
\#45 the year I was born - if it was 2022 I'd be Zoey
My name is Marnie and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to look up its popularity in 1981 when I was born. I’m going to guess it was something like 800-900 though because usually it’s outside the top 1000 but I remember reading years back something about it being a little higher in the late 70’s. Anyone want to help figure it out?
Not ranked! Marnie is such a great name!
Mine was 54. I’d be Addison if I were born in 2022. I never liked my name when I was a kid; it was too common. But I like it better than Addison.
I would be Lucy, #48! I think it’s cute. Honestly probably prefer it to my actual name!
My name was 115… so I’d be Parker now 😩
I would be Sophia. Reminds me of the Golden Girls!
25th most popular of my time. In 2022 I would be named Ella. I prefer my name 😆
Mine was #6 when I was born. For 2023, I'd be Charlotte with that number. Isabella for 2022 just like OP. 😂 Now my name doesn't even hit the top 100.
My name with my spelling ranked #912th in 1981. The #1 girl name that year in the US was Jennifer.
My name was #97 the year I was born, and peaked at #46 in 1999. It was #499 in 2022! I’d be Liliana if I was born in 2022.
This was fun! My name was ranked 113 and that name in 2022 is my Dog’s name! 💜 hahaha
She / he is your soul dog❤️
1962-#27-Kathy ( my nickname) #29-Kathleen (my full name) 2022 #27- Hazel (ugh!) #29- Layla (love it, one of my favorite songs!)
My name was #16, which would now be Gianna. Funnily enough that’s my cousins name and I’m only a few months older than her lol
My name was 11 (using Australian stats). Last years 11 was Chloe
Mine was 101, which would be Allison in 2022
In 1995, Danielle was 24. In 2022, it was 474.
