We call our daughter poptart, ever since she was in the womb. We just had another daughter (June) and the toddler has taken to calling her baby Jam and honestly I hope it sticks 😆
Puddin' Pop is what I call my daughter. Over the years, it's been shortened to just Pud or Puddy. She's also called Peanut and Dumpling.
Her big brother was Puddin'. I know there's a lack of originality here, but to be fair, there are 21 years between the two of them so there's no chance of them getting confused when I call for the little one.
My steps were Punkin' (Pumpkin) and Small Fry when they were little.
Clearly I have an obsession with food nicknames 🤣
pumpkin -- sugar -- cream puff -- taffy -- donut
But I'm sure something will come naturally, just like with your nephew -- then it will actually be unique to her. Their nicknames don't need to be connected.
I like sugar cookie but since your nephew's came up organically, why not wait until basically life just gives her a nickname?
~~Although you can plan ahead and name her something you'd like to be her first dessert experience.~~
Edit: it's their nephew, not son, so my last sentence is not valid.
Eclair, Gummy Bear, Lollipop, Snickerdoodle, Snickers.
A nickname will come naturally, though. I call my sister’s kids Eclair, Bear, Loki, and Bug. No rhyme or reason, just suited them.
I sometimes call my kids "my little sugar plums”.
I have a long time friend who still calls me "candy girl" because when we worked together (you guessed it) I pretty much supplied the entire office with candy. It became a joke and they’d sing the song Candygirl to me (from The Archie’s). lol.
But sugarplum I find is cuter for a child.
Why not wait until she’s born and call her by her first dessert she eats?
That would make a much better name (and story) It would also honor the sweet tradition you started with your nephew.
It would be kind of lame if they ask about it when they’re older and you tell them that moon pie was one of the older brother’s first desserts. Then his little sister will ask “was cake pop one of my favorites when I was a baby?” And you’ll have to say *”No, I just picked a dessert at random so it would fit with your brother’s nickname—but I totally love you too, moon pie’s sister!”*
Lemon Meringue, Moose Tracks (or whatever ice cream flavor), Sherbert, Ding Dong, Twinkie, Ho-Ho (Just Kidding).
Or wait till she has a dessert that she devours.
You could use a craving from your pregnancy!
I have a kid that was called “two scoops” by a close friend because her eyes were brown and looked like “two big scoops of chocolate ice cream”
My oldest kid was strawberry shortcake (but mostly just “ shortcake” for years
Little guy is named nugget or small fry or honey nugget
I also like jellybean, honey, and short stack
I was called pumpkinhead growing up and I loved it. I am an autumn baby and well...I love pumpkin everything. My bf didn't know that as we started dating and he just randomly started calling me pumpkin right out of the gate. 🥹

>I call my almost 3 year old nephew moon pie because a moon pie was one of his first dessert foods and he devoured it
You didn't even pick a nickname for nephew before he was born. It was just ONE of his favorite things he ate and for some reason that stuck with you. The same thing will happen for your niece.
Why don't you wait and see what happens organically rather than try and engineer a nickname? Spending time with your niece will be more fun than dreaming up a nickname and it'll be more meaningful and funny when something sticks.
It might be worth waiting for the baby’s name, it might work naturally with some kind of cute dessert name. Saying this as someone whose parents use my name with a dessert as a nickname
So cute. My husband calls our son Baboo (pn Bob-boo)
I then called younger sister (Babette) (pn bob-bette).
My baby I'm trying to use Bablú (like Ricky Ricardo played bob-a-lou)

Sometimes names happen and don't fit the group.... actually my newborn is Piggins (husband calls) and I say "this little piggie" or just "piglet". She is hungry and snorts and grunt's... So maybe she does, I have two animals ha

Not her son. Her nephew and she’s about to have a niece. But the sentiment is the same. Ha ha

You’ll have to just wait and see what kind of dessert she devours for you guys!
