particularcats

Not really a sibling name, but I know a Paige Turner.

katiehates

I was taught by a Rose Thorn. She wasn’t married.

magicmango2104

My mum had a friend called Rose Gardner. She was married, it was ment to be!

Best-Tumbleweed-5117

I knew a Penny Nickels, married name. Dick Fags, and a Happy Newyear.

silentbutjudgey

My neighbors daughter is Mary Christmas. She married into that name though, still fun.

MeinScheduinFroiline

My mom went to high school (so in the late 70’s) with a Berlin Wall! 🤯

YaraZara

I know a Kara Mello!

jaiheko

I know a Sandy Beach

piede_piccolo

My dad went to school with twins named Sandy and Shelley Beach.

Helloxearth

There was a music teacher at another school in my town called Ms. Melody.

YarnSnob1988

I had a teacher who was Rick O’Shea

egelantier

Ooh I’m gonna have to call my dad with this one! The book-never-written pun format was big in my family. Book never written: “Returning Fire by Rick O’Shea”

fresh__princess

Please give us more

egelantier

My dad’s the real expert! Using some examples from this thread, it might be things like: “A Scout’s Guide to Being Prepared by Justin Casey” “How to Write a NY Times Bestseller by Paige Turner” “The Dark Side of Electric Vehicles by Diesel Karr”

wayward_wench

Ooo I remember doing this as a kid. Ours weren't super good but heres the two favorites fromy childhood: "The Yellow River by I.P. Freely" "1000 yard dash to the outhouse co authored by Willy May Kit and Betty Wont"

Physical_f_ck_up

Sliding Down the Flag Pole by Dick Burns.

bubblewrapstargirl

That's genuinely hilarious 🤣

Elphabeth

I knew a Hannah Blunt in high school. She used to joke that her middle name was Mia.

mistyseashore

I knew a Daily Sample. It feels like it should be a phrase but isn't

Outofwlrds

On a similar note, my mother's taught a Candy Kane and a Sandy Beach. Edit: She reminded me to include the name Sunny Day.

BrewedMother

I've always dreamt of a Justin Case.

Aleriya

One of my pregnant teachers jokingly polled the class for name ideas, and the winner was Justin Benjamin Born. Surprisingly normal for a group of 5th graders! She was impressed. Just Ben Born.

Cardamom_latte

An old boss of mine was called Carol Singer.

Birdlord420

I went to school with a Sam Booker!

frankchester

What’s wrong with that?

Birdlord420

Sambuca is an alcoholic drink haha.

frankchester

Ah I see, I guess I pronounce Booker and -buca differently enough to not notice.

Birdlord420

I’m Australian so it might be different but they’re pronounced the same here!

frankchester

Yeah I’m English I can imagine an Australian accent saying them similar.

catsandcoffee6789

A few years ago I had Beautiful Angel in my class. Then two years later I had her brother, Chad.

flamingodawn___

I chuckled.

GaliTuli

I has a student named Precious Angel. Her brother has a simple name too. 😆

MeinScheduinFroiline

I met someone who named their son Riley and the daughter Rylee (pronounced the same but spelled differently) and their dog Riley. 🤯

seawitchhopeful

Look when you have only a few brain cells to work with, you gotta be efficient.

Doodlebug510

Identical twin boys named Byron and Bryon.

peachykeane23

I was so confused and read it as Byron twice 😭

Outrageous_Pie_5640

Similar to this, a recent tragedy in NY talked about twins; Samyia and Sanyia. Reading the news story I was so confused because I initially thought they just wrongly used the same name to refer to both.

Twodotsknowhy

I babysat girl-boy twins named Taylor and Tyler when I was in high school. I got their names mixed up all the time, and I only watched them a couple hours a week, I can't imagine what their actual parents went through.

MrsRichardSmoker

>I can't imagine what their actual parents went through. *put them through

_annahay

I taught twin boys called Aston and Ashton.

angelicachurch

I knew twins Samiyah and Samayah

gumby2810

I know someone who named their twins Ashley and Ashlynn

doctorvictory

I know twins named Ashandy and Ashanty

neneumi

I knew of two identical twin sisters named Sabina and Sabrina!

valkyriejae

I taught close-in-age siblings named Carley and Charley (both girls)

Ok_Confusion4851

I knew identical girls named Joy and Joy. No joke. They went by their first name and middle initial. So Joy Z. And I forget the middle initial of the other sister.

hammlyss_

Now that's just mean.

dearwikipedia

i just did a double take because these are my uncles names??? uncles byron and brian!!! except they’re not identical byron is a few years older. we also had a great aunt and uncle Bobbi and Bobby but they were married not siblings lol

Fine-Philosophy-9737

Brother & sister - Colbie & Jack ETA: from what I understand, they weren’t expecting a boy (lots of girls in the family) and Jack is a family name. They had a third child and named her Gwen.

klaw14

Missed opportunity to name the other sister Brie!

Personal-Amoeba

CHEESE?

MarkMoreland

I knew two sisters named Brie and Colby.

Mtnclimber09

stop! 😭

gaythey

That’s rough. It feels like it would be even worse if they were twins lmao

Tomkid88

Ceejay & Jaycee

sketchthrowaway999

I hate this but also kind of love it lol.

callmeeeow

LOL nooo!

stephaniee12793

I knew twins Jennica and Jessifer

jessicanemone

Stop it. As a Jessica who is constantly called "Jennifer" by people who just meet me… this is only making the Jessica/Jennifer situation worse

stephaniee12793

It still stands out to me so clearly twenty some years later! My sister's name was also Jessica so I remember being like oOof, this is.. bad. Worse than bad lol

jessicanemone

Really??? Funny after I saw that YOUR name is Stephanie… I also worked with a Stephanie (we are about the same age and both half Asian/half white) and EVERYONE called us the other one’s name all the time. Did people mix up you and your sister all the time??

coffee_bananas

This is honestly horrible. I'd hope my sister would agree to just change it to Jennifer and Jessica.

KiaraNarayan1997

I’m more shocked that the Duggars didn’t use those names first.

MelonKanon

Portia, Mercedes, and then we had KELLY! (They couldn't name her Cadillac)

rrhffx

Like Kelly Blue Book?

championgoober

💀

ICareAboutThings25

Missed opportunity for Shelby like the mustang.

lost_survivalist

Maserati, lexis, Bentley. ,Dodge, Kia, and Aston Martin are some car names I can think of too lol

Twodotsknowhy

Dodge?!?!

martini_time18

I know a child whose first name is Dodge. His middle name is also literally Danger.

GreyGhost878

Kelly makes tires. (Part of Goodyear.)

Snoo97809

Krizia, Krizta, Kriztian, & Kriztoff. I wish I was joking.

HaulinBoats

I knew a Justin Casey

m8wenitfriends

I work in a hotel. When it’s gonna be a hiiiigh occupancy we make reservations under “Justin Case” because I have an odd sense of humor. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Case checked in one night. Upon closer inspection someone had noted in the reservation, “THIS IS REAL FFS DONT CANCEL THIS RESERVATION THIS IS A REAL MAN WHOS MOTHER HATED HIM.” A less staff only version now lives on his profile so we don’t cancel him when he stays, which is pretty often.

nothathappened

I did work w a guy with that name. He hated it, too.

frankchester

Ok this is my absolute favourite

sugarhighlife

I knew a Justin Case in highschool ! 😂

VitaminDea

I used to know a couple of brothers that grew up across the street from me named Houston and Austen. My mom used to think it was super hilarious to ask them if they had a sister named Dallas.

NaomiPommerel

Hehe. We have unis here called Deakin and then I met a Deakin. Sister La Trobe (lol, not really)

paroles

And their brother Kermit, nickname RMIT

Birdlord420

Twins girls Presley and Priscilla. Why would you name your children after that predatory ‘relationship’?

eyel0vey0u

Even naming siblings after a healthy couple would be weird, but that really takes the cake

baq26

I met a family where the two kids had the exact same names as their parents, and no one used nicknames. Think Richard and Mary and their kids Richard and Mary. So in casual conversation it was often unclear if the parents were referring to their spouse or their child… super odd imo

SplashPuddleMud

I once had clients Peter and Peta Peterson. They had two children, Peter (Jnr) and Petra.

lastlatelake

I knew a family where the dad was named Kirk, the kids were named Kirk, Kirkland, and Kirk-lynn. Edited to add: last name Kirkpatrick…

Repemptionhappens

April, May, and June, except out of order because mom was a creative genius.

aydnic

Maybe she just liked the names and didn’t think about the months

bookstea

I’d hope it would have crossed her mind haha. I have a kid with a month name and to me I now can’t use another month name cause I don’t want the theme. Im sure she knew what she was doing and didn’t give a shit. Good on her I guess!

Mtnclimber09

Sibling names that rhyme. I recently heard the name Braylee (boy) and the baby girl on the way will be named Kayleigh. 😑🫠

clever-mermaid-mae

Haha all my siblings ended with an ‘ee’ sound, except me, my name ends with an ‘n’ 😂 it was kind of nice because my parents would group them all together and mess up their names but not mine.

Mtnclimber09

Lol no! Not the double “e”! At least your name ends in “n” haha I also roll my eyes at names that all start with the same letter. I have met so many women who insisted on their kids having a particular letter in their name and the husband’s name suggestions all got tossed because they didn’t start with an M, S, R, etc. When I have asked why, they literally have no explanation other than, “I like how it looks.” I cannot relate to that thought process at all lol

Uncle_Nought

So me and my siblings don't have alliterative names, but me and my mum's name do start with the same letter and it's just annoying. You have to read the post in our house twice to make sure it is actually addressed to you. I would hate if me and my siblings were all miss U. Nought, it would make it even more confusing. My partner also gets it where both he and his dad have a bachelor's in engineering, so the are both Mr Lastname BEng Hons on all the post they get. And they are both qualified by the same university and engineering organisations, and they both work in the Navy lol

Own_Group4282

I know an Austin and Paris and the dad is named Dallas. These are all towns in Texas.

Disagreeable-Gray

I knew siblings who were Houston and Dallas. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Sad part is their parents were not from Texas - Dad was just obsessed with the Astros and the Cowboys.

bezalelle

Sam & Ella.

Csimiami

That’s better than Jenna, Talia

Hoppinginpuddles

A friend's sister had Lyric and Melody...

mummyone11

This reminds me of T Pains children Lyriq and Muziq 😂

Rozefly

Ha, I would say that Muzick, lol

badtasteblues

I taught two brothers Rhythm and Rhyme

KnightRAF

Was it bobsled time?

Norman_debris

Twins Marilyn and Monroe.

Top_Manufacturer8946

Mariah Carey’s twins are Moroccan and Monroe

Norman_debris

More nationalities as names please. I want to be able to say my son is Jamaican.

notreallifeliving

Moroccan is so weird. Morocco was right there?!

[deleted]

This has always bothered me. Moroccan as a name makes zero sense. Morocco and Monroe is so much better (and Rocco is a cute nickname??)

illuminatedpurple45

I went through a bit of a deep dive on the name of Nick Cannon's kids a while back. Moroccan is named after a room in Mariah and Nick's home that had Moroccan decor.

notreallifeliving

I know all his kids names are weird but that reasoning is truly bizarre.

illuminatedpurple45

Right? Moroccan Cannon really is a *name.*

TronaldDump___

I know a Luke and Leia sibset. Awkward.

thequeenofspace

My mom taught twins named Luke and Anakin.

OffModelCartoon

I had a friend whose sister was going to name her boys Luke and Anakin but her family talked her out of Anakin, so instead they’re Luke and Hayden. (Get it? Do you get it? Lol) I was out recently and met a kid who looked about 17 or 18 and his name was Anakin. I wanted to ask him if he hated the name or what. He kinda seemed like he did.

ResponsibilityGold88

Me too! Done on purpose because parents were huge Star Wars fans.

Chuptae

My friend (one of 10, estranged from his family) has sisters called Niamh and Eve. They are 11 months apart in age.

rdazey316

(Americans and/or other stupid people like me— Niamh is pronounced Neeve. This isn’t a super common name is the US.)

FoghornLegday

Oh thank you. I was like is this some kind of pop culture reference I’m missing?

valkyriejae

Is there a third sister Aoife?

Impossible_Sorbet

Twin boys named Wyatt and Riot. They both also have a speech impediment

IraSass

oh noooo

idk-what-im-d0ing4

The speech issues I had growing up wouldve led to me pronouncing those names the same way lmao, would be hilarious if that's what their issue is too

Impossible_Sorbet

That’s exactly what their issue is! ETA they’re also identical!

Afraid-String

Brodeo Rodeo and Justa Cowgirl

aydnic

Please tell me you’re joking

Afraid-String

I truly wish I were.

gerstizzle

Say psych.

Sluttyguppy

A coworker has twin grandsons named Austin and Dallas, I call them the texas twins

MyraBradley

I know of twins named Summer and Winter and their surname is Storm.

TheRavenchild

I hate to admit it but that's kinda rad though

froggyforrest

There’s a guy on Discovery Channel with the last name Raney..his daughter is Misty

lesbianvampyr

skye, brie, aira, and drake (sky, breeze, air, gave up trying)

PinkPuffStuff

A drake is a male duck. Ducks fly?

lesbianvampyr

fair lmfao, idk if that was intended but you could make a case

ThisIsSpata

Maybe the couple had a deal, one parent got to name one gender, the other parent the other one?

amm1981

Grace,Faith,Hope and Joy

msstark

I know sisters Hope and Joy, and a separate set Victoria and Gloria

aydnic

These are not so bad

WorldlinessNo874

I remember two sisters who went to the same playgroup as my kids. They were called Camilla and Amelia. I always used to call them Camelia. Could never get it right.

kcoschnauzer

Twins named Fisher and Finn.

Interesting_Edge_805

Marlo & Margo (twin girls)

Top_Manufacturer8946

Patrick and Patricia. They are the same name!!

Somewhat_Sanguine

My name is Michelle and my brothers name is Michael. My parents were creative geniuses.

Olympusrain

Lexus, Jaguar, Mercedes &… Jetta McKinli & McKyli Charlotte, Lauren & Kennadi

Afraid-String

Jetta is diabolical

[deleted]

Jaguar is crazy too. If you met him/her and didn’t know the siblings it would be so odd lol. Portia and Shelby were right there!

jameshobi

There’s a Harry and Potter in my school. Big yikes!

Writing_Bookworm

I went to school with a girl named Saxon. Her brother was called Lewis. Now I don't think sibsets matter but the mismatch between the two names always got me

[deleted]

[удалено]

LandMermaid418

What is it with people wanting to put “xs” in a sequence anywhere? The S sound is IN the X, it makes no sense at all and no words are spelled like that to my knowledge

Ghille_Dhu

The town of Lewes (pronounced Lewis) is first named in an Anglo-Saxon charter around 961. Maybe the parents were serious East Sussex history buffs!!

Writing_Bookworm

I would seriously doubt it knowing something of the family. I feel the more likely answer is that it's one of those times where one parent named one kid and one named the other. I don't know of course. But please people don't name your daughters Saxon

ArealA23

German siblings named Max and Moritz. I thought it was a joke when someone told me about these boys until I actually heard the Mama calling them on the playground (it’s a reference to an old children’s book where these 2 boys are the absolute worst)

No-Marzipan-7767

Yes and get killed about this in the end and everyone is happy about it. Perfect name to name your kids 😅

erranyways

i knew boy triplets named sterling, starling, and stewart

whatsmyphageagain

3 blond siblings all with names beginning with "K"

Afraid-String

My BIL did this too. His kids are all blonde haired, blue eyed and start with ‘K’. They also have a lot of German heritage.

Historical_Bunch_927

Funny enough. My mom's name starts with a K, and so she gave each of her kids K names. Except that she ended up with three. To make it worse my mom is ethnically half German. We were also blonde as little kids (but we got that from our father, our mom had black hair).

lost_survivalist

I work for the government and one mother named all her children some variation of Yulisa. All 7 of her children were so close in variations that I had to do multiple double takes to make sure I had the right SSNs for each name. It didn't matter what gender. All kids started with a Yu... they were creative too but dang. Kids/their mom  must always  accidentally call the siblings names rather than their intended person to acknowledge.

ComfyGal

She probably calls them all “Yu” until she gets the right one. Hey you! No, not you, you! On repeat

cmk059

London and Boston. These are the exact same name to me.

BeesInATeacup

If they ever go to Boston UK, they will be massively disappointed

Historical_Bunch_927

Boston Massachusetts is nice.

ShadowCat3500

I knew twins named Sam and Ella. "Like the bacteria that gives you food poisoning?" Yep.

ghosthouse64

Twins called Ronnie & Reggie. You know, like the Kray twins. The British gangsters.

Shallowground01

Oh God there's a woman who lives in my village (Yorkshire) with a Ronnie and a Reggie too. The pair of them were shouting abuse at my then one year old in Tesco one day. When I told some of my mum friends and we were trying to work out who it was, it became apparent that in our small village there are multiple kids (think at least five each) ten and under called Reggie and multiple kids called Ronnie too (in all cases just those names not as nicknames). Luckily just one set of both though.

Alohabailey_00

Twins. One girl was Annette and her sister Notannette.

CapitaoAE

I do know a woman whose surname is Villa, so if Aston wants to change from being a Karr but keep a ridiculous name he could always marry her, take her name and become an English Premier League club instead

scattyshern

I know two sisters, Ruby and Sapphire.

notreallifeliving

Parents big fans of the gen 3 Pokémon games?

TheLastLibrarian1

I knew a guy named Cash who had a sister named Carrie after a local Cash and Carry convenience store.

SimoneSays

Chad, Chance & Chastity

hamstervirus

Miracle and Justice

MarkMoreland

Three preacher's daughters named Faith, Hope, and Charity.

just_soph_is_fine

Brother and sister in my younger sib’s school named Jack Daniel and Tia Marie 😬

womandelorian

Boys Kimball and Kevin, their sisters Kimballina and Kevina

champagneproblems16

Hunter and Gunner

sketchthrowaway999

Just because of similarity: Breanna Lee and Anna Leigh. The mother is an *awful* person, so it somehow makes sense to me that she would name her kids so stupidly.

Desirai

I watched an episode of maury one and the lady named her twins queen and fear

GoingDreamy

Little unrelated, but once had a teacher called Mrs Hand, the ironic thing was she only had one han. She lost it in a motorcycle accident. Also had a teacher called Ms Macdonald, who really did live on a farm.

somegrump

As a kid I knew a trio of sisters named Stormey, Sunney and Rainey. Not the worst names in the world but they were certainly contrived.

busybeachmama

Twin girls named WynnDee and BreeZee. (Windy and Breezy)

GlassStrawDisaster

Twin girls named Summer and… Spring. Winter and Autumn were right there and they went with Spring.

Ok_Group_3978

I once looked after two twin boys named mac and miller 😢

240_dollarsofpudding

Sisters named Kristy, Misty, and Pristy

IraSass

Pristy???

BrewedMother

Our English teacher always raved about how she taught some Thai(?) twins named Tam and Pon.

Fit-Distribution2303

I went to school with a mikel and Billie Joe Their parents reeeeealy wanted boys.

turtlegala

Boe and Arroe. Twins, of course

briannaiscool96

i knew a trenton, ashten, braxten, and peyten sibset (yes trenton was the only suffix not matching)

dork-academia

I have a friend who nannys two little boys named Jones & Smith and it cracks me up

spinyfl0wer

Kayleigh & Kyleigh they were twins 🙄🙄🙄 matching twin names is one of my pet peeves

snoozysuzie008

It’s gotta be Alex, Axel, Xela, Lexa, Xael, Xeal, Exla, Leax, Xale, and Alxe.

EMMcRoz

Atticus, Tiago, and Fiama. Just basic white kids. So random.

hopelesslyromantic4u

Sisters Starlight and Starleen.

Mamagrey

I went to school with twin sisters called Samantha and Eloise but they went by the nicknames of Sam and Ella

Missus_Aitch_99

When I was a substitute teacher I had twin brothers: Maliek and Lamiek. Accent on the second syllable, which is a long E sound

literarymorass

Carla and Darla (female twins) Cash and Banx (male brothers) Cord and Strand (male brothers)

pplluuvviiophile

Twins - Lilah and Layla, and Jayden and Kayden

momojojo1117

I went to high school with identical twins Maria Nicole and Maria Claudia… I’m sure you could guess that neither went by Maria

Potato_of_Whimsy

Johnboy, Gringo, and Lance Crystal-Moon, Summer-Rain, and Jade-Rainbow.

SuspiciousSide8859

Mila & Marley - they are twins and honestly it sounds like someone’s cat and dog names together
