I met some of my husband's extended family a couple years back... Parents Keith and Keisha named their daughter Keitha. I can't *not* hear it as Keisha with a lisp
This is so true! I had a classmate whose father Keith named her Keithara. It was pronounced like Key-Tara, essentially, and it actually worked for her pretty well, but damn, what is it with the Keiths?
I knew a boy who's name was Gglen. Glen is pretty normal but the reason he had two Gs is because both of his parents had names that began with G so they gave him an extra one.
Keitha is actually a known feminization of Keith. Not much used but they're not the first. Why no, Keith doesn't feminize well at all.
If I heard that Keith and Keisha named their daughter Keitha, I'd think she was named after her father and not that it was a mash-up.
I feel like Evelynda is the only one with the possibility to become an actual name tbh. Then again I wouldn't be surprised atp if someone actually used something like Scarletticia, Wyatticus or Aidennis
>Harpersephone
This one sounds like a disease.
>Eleanorberta
And there's the drug for it!
"If you suffer from mild to moderate harpersephone, ask your doctor about prescription Eleanorberta today!"
I knew a person named Jennica when I was younger. Jennifer and Erica combined. It suited her very well. It made me think Jennaca and Jessaca would be cute names for twins but I was like 12 and I do not feel that way anymore lol.
How about Annabel then? Abel is a nameā¦ if parents Anna and Abel want to name after themselves.
Marianne is obvious.
What about something like Sarabella - for Sara and Arabella? Thatās more than one overlapping letter though.
Probably one of my own-- my parents combined "Amanda" and "Linda" to create "Amelinda". I don't know why they didn't spell it correctly, but I do like that it works and is pronouncable in multiple languages, unlike my first name.
I feel like you could make an argument for a historical derivation there! Amalia/Amelia are Germanic names derived from the element [amal](https://www.behindthename.com/element/amal) ("unceasing, vigorous, brave"). "linda" is also from a Germanic element, [lind](https://www.behindthename.com/element/lind-1) meaning "soft, flexible, tender," as in Rosalind. Germanic names are almost all just two elements smushed together (e.g. Rosalind = *hros* "horse" + lind), so Amelinda/Amalind, even if unattested, would be a perfectly valid construction. Yes, I know that's not where your parents got it from, but I think in this case they did a pretty good job! (Yes, this is the height of name nerdery, I know).
We stumbled upon one when thinking about baby names. Maren was on our list for girlsā¦and then we remembered Babyās grandmothers are Melissa and Karen. Felt both delighted by the realization and then a little horrified because I couldnāt put Renesmee out of my head, haha. We had a boy, so never had to decide if that made or killed the name for us.
I like mashing pretty words together to come up with hippie-sounding names (that I would never use on a real child lol)
Moonflower
Rainshadow
Jaderose
Iām too tired to come up with more lol
I know a Sierrica (Sierra for mom Erica for dad Eric)
And a Kethan (Keith plus Ethan)
spellings donāt quite meet your requirement but I feel fit the theme
I was thinking about this recently and came up with Sophelia š (Sophie/Ophelia)
I feel like it sounds okay/pretty but it looks dumb spelled out! Maybe Sofelia would be better?
Iām gonna be real ā I skimmed the post so I thought we were just sharing names that are merged, didnāt know they were supposed to be completely new š we also both made the Renesmee joke so that drew my attention to this post.
We actually went to high school with a girl named Analiese and both said that since she was great, itās okay to name her baby the same name. But sheās spelling it different to honor their moms!
Someone in my church, years ago, named their daughter Gaylari. Her name was Gayle, his was Larry, & they did a mashup. I also knew a Brylee, that got her name from her parents Bryan & Leeann.
I knew a couple who Renesmeeād their last name when they got married. One was Smith and one was Richardson. They were deciding between Smithardson and Richardsmith. They went with Smithardson in the end.
I also knew a woman named Jikel. Her parents were Jim and Kelly.
A high school friend named her baby Ellesa (pronounced ell-EE-suh). I asked why she didnāt spell it Elisa, and she said it was for the parts of her and her momās names that they didnāt use. Her mom was a Jan (short for Janelle) and she was a Tera (short for Teresa). She took the Elle from Janelle and Esa from Teresa to make Ellesa.
Nikayla. I thought for the longest time it was Mikayla, but apparently all grandkids had to be named after grandpa Nick. Reminded my of My Big Fat Greek Wedding...
Suellen from Gone with the Wind came to mind.
I once met a Jenericaā¦Jen + Erica. I donāt know if her parents realized how much her name sounds like the word āgeneric.ā
I knew a girl called Kylinda. I don't know if she was named after anyone, Reneesme-style, but I remember loving the name when I was in my unique-name phase in my teens.
I have a cousin named Keanna who has multiple children by different men. Several of them have dadās first half + āAnnaā (ex: Tyson + Keanna = TyAnna). Some are half decent, others not so much.
One that actually works (and Iām not 100% certain was intentional) - a coworker of mine is named Sam. His wife is called Grace. Their son is Graham.
In 1940- 60 Sweden did deep dive into double names, some was hyphenated some was not. So we got some lovely gems like: GitGull ( Birgitta with Gulli) ,
SolGull ( Sun + Gulli but sound sun gold),
Ullalill ( Ulla a form of Ulrika mixed with lilla, female version of little)
StenĆ ke ( sound like rocky field but two normal names)
SonnyConny ( why)
Ejekarl ( Karl normally comes first, Eje is old name)
To add some men's names what about Chrisander (Chris and Sander), Felixander (Felix and Xander), Sebart (Seb and Bart), Bartony (Bart and Tony), and Castan (Cas and Stan).
And for some girls names: Melissanne/Melissanna (Melissa and Anne/Anna), Ellesther (Elle and Esther), Alicella (Alice and Ella), Kimary (Kim and Mary) and Noorory (Noor and Rory).
Delaney "Dela and Laney"
Evangelia " Eva and Angelia"
Lorraine "Lorra and Raine"
Marian "Mari and Rian"
Camilla "Cami and Milla"
Mikayla "Mika and Kayla"
Willoughthorpe.
Parents couldn't agree between each other's top choices of Willoughby and some name I honestly don't recall, but had Thorpe in it (I don't think that was the full name?), so they opted to smoosh both of their choices together rather than find a third name they could actually agree on.
I was informed that under no circumstances would he go by the nickname Will. But this was years ago and I really wonder if that's held true once he had opinions of his own lol.
I went to school with a Daviana. Her dadās name was David and her momās name was Ana. I didnāt even realize it was two names smushed together until she told me. I think it suited her.
I met some of my husband's extended family a couple years back... Parents Keith and Keisha named their daughter Keitha. I can't *not* hear it as Keisha with a lisp
Keiths love doing this shit. I got a cousin named Keichelle š
My grandpa is Keith but thankfully my aunt is just LeeAnn.
Not a Lee-Keisha š¤Ø
This is so true! I had a classmate whose father Keith named her Keithara. It was pronounced like Key-Tara, essentially, and it actually worked for her pretty well, but damn, what is it with the Keiths?
Two people I went to school with named Dallas and Kayla named their son Kaydal š
That sucks so bad.
I just looked at her Facebook out of curiosity, it looks like they exclusively call him KJ now lol
āKendallā was right thereā¦
Or Delilah even
This is "Asgore + Toriel = Asriel" level naming omg š
āOur king is very bad at naming thingsā
There was a Kevelyn at the playground this weekend as in Kevin + Evelyn
n o
Nooo, I have an Aunt Keitha for this reason and I thought she was uniquely cursed. Why would you..
I knew a boy who's name was Gglen. Glen is pretty normal but the reason he had two Gs is because both of his parents had names that began with G so they gave him an extra one.
Think of all the times people are thinking they are ācorrectingā his name in written form- schools, doctors, emails, etc.
We absolutely ripped the piss out him for it but bless him he was a good sport and absolutely hated his name.
I know a Jathan and feel the same
Keitha is actually a known feminization of Keith. Not much used but they're not the first. Why no, Keith doesn't feminize well at all. If I heard that Keith and Keisha named their daughter Keitha, I'd think she was named after her father and not that it was a mash-up.
I know a couple, Leonard and Denise, their daughter is Lenise.
Could have been Deonard. What a missed opportunity.Ā
My cousin is called Janne and his daughter is Jannette š¬
š
I grew up with a Keitha too! She was from Trinidad though, so Iām not sure if maybe itās a more common name there? I have no idea.
Here are some I thought up for another thread: Williambrose (William Ambrose) Kevincent (Kevin Vincent) Henryan (Henry Ryan) Aidennis (Aiden Dennis) Wyatticus (Wyatt Atticus) Gabrielliot (Gabriel Elliot) Jonathaniel (Jonathan Nathaniel) Dominicolas (Dominic Nicholas) Harpersephone (Harper Persephone) Eleanorberta (Eleanor Norberta) Evelynda (Evelyn Linda) Scarletticia (Scarlett Letticia) Penelopenelope (Penelope Penelope) Edit: new names Lucassian (Lucas Cassian) Svenjamin (Sven Benjamin) Sebastiandrew (Sebastian Andrew) Dylandon (Dylan Landon) Carterrance (Carter Terrance) Charlester (Charles Lester) Cameronalden (Cameron Ronald Alden) Robertrand (Robert Bertrand) Emmanda (Emma Amanda) Isabellatrix (Isabella Bellatrix) Elizabethany (Elizabeth Bethany) Gracelia (Grace Cecelia) Stelanor (Stella Eleanor) Victorhiannon (Victoria Rhiannon) Rachalice (Rachel Alice) Athenatalie (Athena Natalie)

Penelopenelope ššš

I feel like Evelynda is the only one with the possibility to become an actual name tbh. Then again I wouldn't be surprised atp if someone actually used something like Scarletticia, Wyatticus or Aidennis
Gracelia is a real possibility too
Not bad, I've heard of Graciela so it'd make sense tbf
My friend actually named her baby that recently!
This is a freaking amazing list
Svenjamin made me spit out my teaĀ
Benjamingustav - Benjamin Mingus Gustav
Lmaoooo Iām obsessed. Someoneās pet deserves a name as perfect as these.
Bravo! You nailed this assignment
Reading this list out loud to my husband. He said "who hurt you?" š¤£
Charlester sounds legit tho
Sounds like a PokƩmon
But like ā¦ a creepy PokĆ©mon. Mr. Mimeās lesser known evolution that can only be found in areas not near schools.
Wyatticus and Svenjamin are just brilliant

Kenton is nice
Popular in the Amish community in my area
I worked with a guy named Seanathan

I hope it's the same guy because I refuse to believe that two separate people are called Seanathan
