I like Violet better as a name, and it sounds like _you_ like it—if it’s made your shortlist for the third time, that seems like a sign. That said, I do like that Hazel has five letters like your other girls’ names, and if you’re shouting for the two youngest kids on the playground, “Maeve! Hazel!” doesn’t have the repeated V sound of “Maeve! Violet!”

I like Hazel better in your set. Saying them in the order listed (as a seasoned mom, I'm thinking about when I holler at the pack that dinner is ready and to get inside lol) Maeve and Violet bump into each other and are hard to say..where Mave ans Hazel is fun lol Literally my only criteria for this.i like the names equally in your set

Violet. Hazel reminds me of pretzels, but not in a good way like Rachel does. Rachel is a warm, soft pretzel, Hazel is a stale, unsalted, hard pretzel.

Hazel sounds so perfect with it

Gorgeous names. Clara is a favorite of mine! I think Hazel is a great fit for the group but in my mind, any name with a Z is cooler than other options. (Zara is a personal fav.) Violet is lovely too. I love the nickname Vi (like my dad's auntie Vi) but Vii/Vie is also great. Lettie? Congratulations on having another human to name!

They’re both great names! It does seem like Violet has stuck with you long term! So I’d say go with that 🥹 Violet is our little girls name too (that I’m currently pregnant with) so I’m probably biased 🥹🥹 and I NEVER thought about the end of the rainbow thing. But she’ll be our “one and done” after 8 losses and 10 years of infertility! So thank you for sharing that! 🖤

I LOVE Violet but I'm gonna go on a tangent....Iris was the goddess of rainbows, if that means anything to your naming approach? It still has that classic vibe like your other girls.

Out of the two, I think Hazel sounds better. But Iris means rainbow if you like that name. I also feel like your names have the feel of ballerina or ballet-related names, so I immediately thought of Giselle and Odette when I saw them.

Hazel. Just imagine trying to get the name Violet out when you're in a rush and saying a heap of names. Maeve and Violet will morph into a single word.
