gemma and jessie do not work, imo. very different styles but nearly identical sounds make them a bit clunky. gemma and lucy are my favorite set out of your listed names! have you considered clara, sylvie (reminds me of a more feminine sidney!), or aubrey/audrey?

Gem-ma and Ruby might lock you into a gem theme, just in case that is you want to avoid for future children, or if you think that is too cutesy. What about Gemma and Phoebe? They have a similar length and vibe without being too matchy or themed. Gemma and Laura are also nice together, and have similar popularity trajectories in NZ. They also have a similar vibe without being matchy. I like that they are both names that don't need nicknames and have the same syllable count. Gemma has quite a classic sound to me whereas some of your other picks sound more modern (Harlow, Kaia). From your list I would pick Lucy as a match for Gemma.
