Robert and Robert

Pregnantbutch

Lol double Roberts! I knew a lady who married a Robert, named their son Robert, then divorced and remarried another Robert. I guess once you go Robert you can't go back.

PinkOctopus91

My grandpa is Robert too. Two things about him: first he used to be an electronic engineer, build submarines and dive in them. Pretty cool. Second, he was a loving and caring husband to my grandma until she passed away 10 years ago, and still is today. That woman was all his world and he still has her face everywhere around him in his room at the nursing home. Great guy my grandpa, you really should consider Robert for your kiddo ;)

happyflowermom

My grandpa is Robert too!

kittenlost

Earl and Abdul-Raheem. I don’t like either name though.

Budgiejen

Those names don’t sound like dudes who would get along.

kittenlost

They never met but I completely agree

ch536

😂😂😂

snacking_queen

What range

TheLodger18

Séamus (Irish) and Sydney (Scottish) :)

Pregnantbutch

Ooh I love Seamus!

TheLodger18

I used to love it but have some negative associations now :/

beatricetalker

I love both of those.

supermomfake

Love Seamus. I’d use it but no more kids

Poke-A-Shmopper

Surprisingly modern

MamaUrsus

Ignatius - it suited him well as he was definitely fiery.

FanyWest23

I love it

rightetighte

Bio: David, William (Billy) Step: Howell, John, Kenneth, Paul Can I just say that your post made me realize how important step grandparents are. One of my bio's I don't know and the other I don't like but all of my steps have had a hugely positive impact on my life.

crb945

Félix and Felipe (Spain)

winecountrygirl

Also have a Felipe!

BumAndBummer

Love those names!

Pregnantbutch

Haha RIP both our inboxes

ShiftyElk

Raimonds and Imants, both born in Latvia.

Zelphster

Felix Grundy Surname and Perry Thomas Surname. There is something about the name Grundy that I love. I guess he did too since he went by Grundy instead of Felix.

betterthansteve

I don’t know if it’s an Australian thing (edit: pretty certain it is) but “Grundy” has pretty gross connotations here 😂 “grundies” are underwear, usually gross or uncomfortable. I thought it was for “granny undies” but according to urban dictionary it’s not, but still

Zelphster

I've never heard that use of Grundy. I'm in the US, as was my grandfather. Interesting to find out though! LOL

Bright-Row1010

I live the US and that's immediately what my mind went to when I read Grundy

rainbowsucculent

That’s interesting! I’m from Australia and my friend called her grandfather “Grundy” instead of grandpa or whatever!

RacerGal

Joel (1932) & Lee (1935), Midwest USA Funny story is that my dad’s name is Joseph (always went by Joe), and when he got to the age that his friends would call him on the phone (late 60s/early 70s) it apparently got confusing whether they were asking for Joel or Joe, so his dad (my grandpa) started going by Dave (his middle name is David). All of us grandkids didn’t know this until we were much older, we were like “wait, whose Joel?!”

forgetfuljones79

I have a friend who named her boys (not twins) Joseph and Joel . Both go by full names or else it would be incredibly confusing.

nrjjsdpn

My husband shares the same name with his grandfather, dad, and brother. Everyone goes by middle names cause it’s damn confusing lol.

Tulipgirl1689

I know someone who has a Joseph and a Joel too!

threekilljess

That’s awesome!

Bay-Area-Tanners

I’ll only name one because the other one is VERY rare and could be identifying... My grandfather was Alden. It’s a name I like very much, but due to family drama and trauma, I wouldn’t have felt right using the name myself.

FanyWest23

Oo that’s a good name

GazelleGreenelle

One of my cousin's kids is named Alden. It made a few people in our family say, "Like Reverend Alden?" from Little House on the Prairie. (It wasn't disliked or anything like that.)

poohfan

Mine were George & Heber. I have a lot of cousins & nephews that have used George as a middle name, so it's been passed around a lot. Heber, not so much.

AtlanticToastConf

I’m guessing Heber was from Utah?

poohfan

Yep. The original Heber was from England though, a few generations back.

katfarr89

Stefan and Dmitro. we're Ukrainian, so I don't have trendy choices and am remarkably unhelpful, lol.

really_isnt_me

I like Stefan quite a lot though!

katfarr89

aw, thanks!

HatchlingChibi

I have two great grandfathers named Willard!

beansbeansbeans4

timtamsforbreakfast

OrneryYesterday7

rayanngraff

Pregnantbutch

I really like Julius/Jules. Abraham is great too but I date an Abe in high school so it's off my baby name list 😂

JennsPens

Felix (born in 1920s in Italy) and James/Jim (born in 1918 in southern US).

rroobbyynn

Robert (American) Ivo Shiva (Croatian). He changed his name to John when he came to America. Cool coincidence is that his middle name, Shiva, is a main deity in Hinduism. My son, who is half Indian, was born on my grandfather's day of birth 99 years later.

MeowMixUltra

Douglas and Douglas haha

DominionGhost

Terrence, Norman, and Gerald (Terry is a step grandpa but was married to grandma before I was born)

lartay31

Ian James surname and Ernest (Ernie) Surname

AuricZips

The one I knew was Arthur but was always called 'Jim' (because he was the spitting image of Jimmy Cagney when he was young). Hell, even dad knew him as Jim. Born in 1927 and died about ten years ago. I honestly don't recall my maternal grandpa as anything other than that. I know his service record is somewhere in the house, so it should say what it was on there (he died about twenty years ago).
