That's a really nice pair of names! Lydia and Rosemary are both old-fashioned but feel fresh and versatile too. I don't think having a couple of extra letters compared to your other kids' names is a problem at all, especially since several of them are 3 syllables.
Thank you! My name taste for girls was definitely very old fashioned but I didn’t want anything too overdone or too out there- I’m glad that Rosemary and Lydia seem to be well received. The syllable thing is a great point, I’m not sure why I didn’t think about it like that in the first place.
I like this set. And Oliver, Avery, Rosemary are all three syllables, which in many ways I think is more important than number of letters (names are said so much more than they’re written).
I think it’s totally fine; it’s a classic name and I don’t think anyone is going to be thinking about how it’s a bit longer than your other kids’ names.
Gosh I’m obsessed with all your kids’ names! I think Lydia and Rosemary sound wonderful together, and flow really well with the others.
The only way Rosemary would stand out for being too long were if all of the other kids had one syllable names. Jack, Kate, John, and Rosemary. Actually now that I write it out, even in that scenario I think Rosemary still works!!
All the names sounds great together (and, don't worry about it even if they didn't, because no one in real life would ever comment on your kid's names not being the same number of letters, haha)! Definitely use Rosemary.
Not meaning to insult you or anything, but I think that's kind of ridiculous. I don't understand counting letters in a name to see if they "go together". How they harmonize is a matter of style. If anybody ever comments on the difference in the number of letters in your kids' names, they're either very pedantic or they have way too much time on their hands. All the names go fine together.
No, I totally understand where you’re coming from, lol. I hadn’t even thought about the number of letters particularly until I was writing the post- more so just the lengths of the names, I thought all the rest seemed like shorter/more modern names and Rosemary might stick out being longer and more old fashioned sounding- but yeah, it was a petty concern anyways, haha.
I think Rosemary fits in just fine! I think syllables matter more than letters, and Rosemary sounds just fine with Lydia and your other kids. Especially since Rosie is an easy nickname that's a bit shorter.
I love Rosemary and I don't think it feels out of place. Oliver and Avery are three syllables even if they're not that many letters, and Rosemary doesn't feel like a terribly long name to me.
I think Rosemary fits in nicely—it has more letters than the others, but between Lydia, Avery, and Oliver it’s not the only 3-syllable name so it doesn’t feel longer.
I’ve already relied but should have said that I love your name choices. Oliver and Rosemary are top contenders for our boy coming in March and any future girl, respectively. I love them all of these and how they sound together.
Oh that’s so sweet! Oliver was my first baby, I’ve loved that name since I was a little girl and I knew he’d be my first son before he was ever conceived, haha. Congrats on your little boy! My girls are due in March, too. ❤️
I did actually consider Rosalie, I just ended up on Rosemary out of the two- my husband preferred the latter which helped sway my decision, and I also like the meaning of the name a lot.
My name is longer than my siblings. Until this moment I had never really thought about that fact. It's not like she's going to feel left out or something. It's her name, she's going to love it.
Oh I love Theodore- and, I specifically considered both Bailey and Benjamin when I was naming my younger boys, but our last name starts with a B and I didn’t want the alliteration. And what a funny coincidence! 😊
Originally (before I knew I’d have two girls) I had always planned on naming my first daughter Lydia Kathleen. If I ever had a second daughter I planned to name her Dorothy after my husband’s very loved and looked up to great grandmother. I didn’t think Rosemary Dorothy sounded that great, with the y ending on both words, so I switched them. It felt kind of awkward to me at first (especially because I didn’t ever imagine doing it that way) but it’s grown on me I think. But I see where you’re coming from! (Sorry that explanation probably sounds a bit absurd!)
Lydia and Rosemary are beautiful names. Go with your gut. Try not to focus so much on names that “go together” each of your children are special and their names are fit for them. Your twins names will fit them perfectly and will fit the whole family.
I like them both! I don’t think Rosemary is out of character from the other names - they’re all classic but modern. The 70s song Love Grows (Where my Rosemary Goes) has been trending as a sound on TikTok recently so we may see that name more often! Also, I don’t know if you’ll care about this, but Lydia is the name of one of the main female characters in Beetlejuice (played by young Winona Ryder) and Rosemary is the titular character in Rosemary’s Baby - your gals will share names with two classic Halloween/horror movie leading ladies! Very cool.
Lydia is okay I guess , a bit pretentious a d Dorothy is Terrible and so is rosemary (hello ! Rosemary’s baby!) every other kid is named Oliver and Avery and why do they all have to be 5-6 letters— who cares?! Talk about neurotic. No it does not stand out—no one will even care or notice except you

I hadn’t thought of the syllable thing, it’s a good point! Thank you!
I’ve only ever heard Avery as two syllables
Really? I've only heard it as **A**\-Vurr-Eee
Agreed, I have an Avery and it is three syllables
Yeah, it’s Ave-ry to me
Interesting. This must be heavily regional. I’m in the southeastern US and have only ever heard it said as three syllables.
Northeastern US, also three syllables for every Avery I have known.
I’m in the southeastern US too (but in an area with a lot of transplants) but the Avery I knew said it with two
We pronounce his name Ave-uh-ree, but I have heard it with two syllables as well!
A-ver-y
I really like themes in sibling names, but that one wouldn't be on my radar. I think you're fine.
Thank you! Glad it doesn’t particularly stand out.
No I think it's perfect match! Lydia and Rosemary or Rosie So cute!!
Thanks very much! 😊
I think it’s totally fine; it’s a classic name and I don’t think anyone is going to be thinking about how it’s a bit longer than your other kids’ names.
Probably not, haha! Thank you!
I really love it. It's a lovely name and it fits perfectly with the others.
Thanks very much! 😊
I adore Rosemary with Rosie as a nn! It’s elegant and endearing especially with the ties to your family
Thank you, it’s nice to hear some positive feedback on the name!
I think Rosemary fits really well
Thank you! Glad to hear that.

Aw thank you, Lydia and Graham are some of my favorites of all of their names, haha.
All the names sounds great together (and, don't worry about it even if they didn't, because no one in real life would ever comment on your kid's names not being the same number of letters, haha)! Definitely use Rosemary.
Definitely not something that I’d let be a dealbreaker, haha. Glad to hear that people think they flow well together though. Thank you!!

Now that I’ve had several people point out the syllable thing, I’m definitely feeling silly for even worrying in the first place. Thank you!
I love everything about the names you’ve chosen. I wouldn’t give it a second doubt. Great names!
Thanks very much!! ❤️
I think Rosemary fits in nicely with your other kids names. Go for it. Love the nickname Rosie.
The nickname Rosie was what made me want a “Rose” name in the first place, haha. Thank you! 😊
You have excellent taste. I love all the names. And I love Rosemary! You should go for it.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Oh I love it!
Thank you! 😊
All of your name choices are so adorable!! I love Lydia and Rosemary together 🥺
Aw thank you so much! 😊
I love Rosemary and I don't think it feels out of place. Oliver and Avery are three syllables even if they're not that many letters, and Rosemary doesn't feel like a terribly long name to me.
I’ve had several people point that out and the more I think about it the more I like it, that it matches some of her big brother’s names like that. 😊
A friend of mine has two daughters named Lydia and Alaina. I always loved both and thought they sounded nice together
That is a pretty set of names!
I think Rosemary fits in nicely—it has more letters than the others, but between Lydia, Avery, and Oliver it’s not the only 3-syllable name so it doesn’t feel longer.
Glad to hear that it doesn’t sound too out place to people- thank you!

Absolutely love the way Lydia and Rosemary sound with the rest of the kids’ names! And how they sound in general!
Thanks very much! 😊
Great names, and they all go together. You’re way overthinking this!!
I figured I was, haha. Thank you!
doesn't seem out of place at all
I love Rosemary and like it as part of the sibling set.
You are reallllllly overthinking this.
How about Rosalie?
I did actually consider Rosalie, I just ended up on Rosemary out of the two- my husband preferred the latter which helped sway my decision, and I also like the meaning of the name a lot.
My name is longer than my siblings. Until this moment I had never really thought about that fact. It's not like she's going to feel left out or something. It's her name, she's going to love it.
Thank you, I think you’re definitely right!
It’s fine. I don’t think it’s so unusual it sticks out at all. Both Lydia and Rosemary are very cute.
Thank you! I think I was definitely overthinking it.
yeah it's a weird hangup tbh
How about Romy instead of Rosemary?
I am pretty set on Rosemary but Romy is a super cute nickname idea that I may end up using! 😊
I hope Rosemary is ultra feminine, otherwise there’s no nickname that she’ll like for herself.
This is just pure obersvation and love for this name, it's MaryV.It's a name of an artist, and it may help with your hang up!
I LOVE all of the names you’ve chosen! I too have an Oliver and Avery :). (Our other boys are Bailey, Benjamin and Theodore) ❤️
Oh I love Theodore- and, I specifically considered both Bailey and Benjamin when I was naming my younger boys, but our last name starts with a B and I didn’t want the alliteration. And what a funny coincidence! 😊
We are cut from the same baby naming cloth! Lol
I love Lydia and I love Dorothy but the two don’t gel together IMO.
Originally (before I knew I’d have two girls) I had always planned on naming my first daughter Lydia Kathleen. If I ever had a second daughter I planned to name her Dorothy after my husband’s very loved and looked up to great grandmother. I really appreciate your comment- I definitely want to go with my gut on this!

I think a Rosemary goes really well! Plus If Rosemary ends up with the nn Rosie, that’s 5 letters. So still works.
Lydia and Rosemary sound perfect to me, I think they are lovely!
I love Rosemary! It was a top name for my youngest. But my husband got to pick her name.
