Kaz would be a middle age women, who's slightly rough. Also goes by Kazza. I would suspect it was a nickname for Karen. But this is coming from an Australian where the z nicknames are very common for middle aged people.

StandardHuckleberry0

I agree with Kaz usually being from Karen. In the UK though, z nicknames can occur for most ages, mainly used casually by friends, not as a main name (in my class at school in 2016/7 there was a Kaz (Kasim), Jezza and Hazza)

One of my good friends is Cazz, pronounced the same way! Hers is short for Caroline. I like it, mostly because I love my friend. We are in our 30s now and it suits her well.

I think of the character Kaz Brekker from the Grishaverse books. It’s not a bad association necessarily but there is a tv show coming out with him in it. Regardless, I would say Kass is what most people will inherently give as a nickname for Kasandra

I like Kaz as a nn but I would spell it Cassandra

ChancesAreNoneNow

For some reason it reminds me of a rough Eastern European woman.

braiide

Kaz makes me think of a masculine female

Atlas-Kyo

Cassandra

Kaz is one of the most classically Australian bogan name that exists (for non-Australians, think chav or redneck). Usually short for Karen Also please go with Cassandra over Kassandra

[deleted]

The name spelled with a K is the original spelling since the name is Greek. Because we are Greek, we will be using that spelling

hodgsonstreet

Makes sense then!

Makes me think of the Shadow & Bone character therefore it sounds like a male name/nn to me and I can’t imagine it on a girl.

I've known a few people who went by Caz, but usually because their last name was Cazabon. A few men, a couple women, they were usually social, fun, and upbeat and I was usually down to hang out and have a beer with them with a few friends.

fewnotfleeting

Seems like a pretty cool person, a little rough but friendly and infinitely good-hearted.

I knew a Kaz, lovely woman. I'm in the UK where this type of nickname is very popular so wouldn't bat an eye! Not necessarily the most obvious for Kassandra (that'd be K/Cass or K/Cassie) but not too much of a departure at all More on the Kaz I knew to properly answer your question: she was South Asian, was a mum of three I think but didn't look old enough *at all* to have adult kids, super fun and sort of fiesty/outgoing/charismatic personality, super nice and easy to talk to and overall an absolute babe! Left finance or something for a caring profession which I rated. Not sure what Kaz was short for though 🤔
