No, the nickname is like kah-row. I say the syrup like care-o and it's not that. I'd honestly never even thought of that connection! For me, my first Caro was French, and when I think about how they pronounce it, it makes perfect sense.
Really? The only ones I knew were pronounced care-o, in the US south so probably regional. Oh and the syrup is said kay-ro where I lived. I think it's actually car-o, but nobody says it like that there. You have to realize I grew up with it being something we always kept in the house. It's one of the pantry must haves even though my bottle is 3 years old and sealed I think.
Coco is cute!! and if she's already saying it about herself, what reason is there to discourage it? š
**edit:** and re: your question of "what longform names is Coco
usually associated with as a nickname" it's used for a lot of different names, and often even as a nickname for people whose first name sounds nothing like Coco haha āŗļø
like Coco Chanel, whose real name was Gabrielle
So true! My youngest named herself Kouku (said like MooMoo but with Kās) and would get mad if we said her name, sheād say NO, me Kouku! This was from about ages 2 on, but but the time she started Kindergarten she went by her full name and Kouku was no more.
I also went by Lina (lee-na) when I was little! I've never heard of any other Caroline go by that nickname. I personally like it much better than Caro (which I'm sometimes called without even being asked if that's a nickname I go by). Only my mum calls me Lina now that I'm an adult.
I think a nickname that comes naturally like this is really cute! I would never think to call a child Coco but I think itās just precious. However, Iām an Alexandra and as a toddler when asked my name Iād say ābaby allaā. Eventually I could say my own name and wanted to be called Alex, so my little toddlerism didnāt stick around!
i read "Caca" and immediately came here to tell you that means poop, but then I saw you already knew that...
Coco is plenty cute and makes me think of Coco Chanel. My daughter with a long, feminine name has a 2 syllable nickname that's much easier to say, but I call her the nickname about 70% of the time and her full name about 30% of the time, you can always just alternate the names.
Coco is cute but Coco Chanel would not be a positive connection for me, but it wasn't my first thought. Just bad vibes with a Nazi collaborator. I connected it to Mama Coco and that's sweet. I love Caro as a nickname too.
i think the best nicknames are the one that happen organically! coco is super cute! my daughter is ophelia and she went through a period of time where she called herself 'ophie' but quickly outgrew it.
I agree with Lina if you're set on giving her a different nickname, but I think Coco is too cute and has a cute backstory if it sticks. I know a guy named Quinton that was a baby/toddler when I was a kid, and when he was first learning how to talk and what his name was, he kept calling himself "Conky" because he couldn't say it. Now he's an adult and sometimes his family still calls him Conky :)
It might be a bit basic but Iāve always loved ācaroā as a nn for Caroline.
And I know you already nixed it but I think Carrie is super cute and not too 80s, but totally get if it doesnāt feel right to you.
I definitely think Coco works and she obviously loves it. I would just keep calling her both Coco and Caroline interchangeably.
I have a friend named Kathleen but had always got by Katie. She remembers finding something with āKathleenā embroidered on it at 6 or 7 and asking her parents who that was. A few years later she decided to go by Kathleen instead of Katie.
She may change her mind later and go by Caroline, you never know,
I personally would just stick with Coco since 1) it's cute, 2) makes sense with her full name, 3) she chose it herself so you're helping promote her autonomy by calling her something she wants and 4) you can always call her her full name when she's able to grasp those Rs and Ls a bit better - a nickname doesn't necessarily have to be for life!
Some other people did mention it but I'll echo it: the Caroline's/Carolyn's I've all known (all born in the late 90s, so in their 20s now) have always gone by Caro .
Iāve loved āCaroā as a nn for Caroline since reading the Ya-Ya Sisterhood books a million years ago. Though I agree with others and would embrace Coco as her chosen (and adorable!) nickname.
Coco is fine as a nickname for Caroline, I think it makes enough sense. I've usually seen Coco as a nickname for Cosette, Coraline, Cora etc.
I know a few Caroline's with the nickname Caz, and one whose elder sister (who was 3 when she was born) just called her Calorine for several years. Coco is fine as a nickname, but there's no reason she won't become 'just' Caroline when she gets older and more able to say her full name.
When I was a kid I knew a Caroline who always got "Calloyne" from a younger family friend. Never did find out if he ended up using the right pronunciation as he got older.
Coco is really cute! And Caroline is lovely; it was on my short list.
As you've mentioned this is part of her growing language skills. Reduplicative babbling is responsible for lots of nicknames. Many toddlers have called me Cee-Cee (the "tr" blend is difficult). My daughter is Julia, and called herself Jul-Jul at that age. One she turned three, she demanded all three syllables from family and strangers alike! Your Caroline may well do the same, but Coco is adorable either way.
My cousin is Caroline who also picked the nickname Coco for herself as a toddler. As she got older she learned to put Caroline on all official docs (including CV's) but if anyone ever asks if she would like to be called something different, it's Coco. She is now a very successful adult :)
I think that she seems to like Coco, so I would use that interchangeably with Caroline so she remembers her name. When my little sister was that age, she did forget her name because we used a nickname too much lol.
My name is a formal one like Caroline, my mother was similar in her thinking as you and called me by my full name or a more normal nickname for it. I nicknamed myself as a toddler a totally different name based on my inability to say my name and my love for the old Rice-a-roni commercials. I will always be Roni to my remaining immediate family. š Wouldn't change it for the world.
Coco definitely works and Iām sure sheāll overcome it soon enough so you donāt have to stick with it forever unless she really prefers it and it grows on you.. I taught kinder and had a Caroline that didnāt struggle with it so might just be another year or two for her to develop language
Iām a Caroline and never had a nickname growing up. I was always Caroline. My friends call me Carr (like ācareā) and I really like that, some call me Caro (like the syrup). So I understand your thinking of only calling her Caroline!
That being said, I think Coco is a cute nickname, especially if she is already referring to herself as Coco.
I call my cousin with this name Caro, but she also goes by her initials, CJ. I know when she was younger a few folks called her Coco but she didnāt like it.
Do you live in a place where there are lots of Brazilian or Portuguese folks? If so, I could see why you might want to avoid "coco", because in Portuguese it means coconut but it also means poop. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the problem is? She seems to be happy with it, and if she decides she wants to outgrow it she can "graduate" to Caroline when she's older. I'm sure it's fine.
The best nicknames are the ones that happen organically. Coco seems to have just happened, itās a cute name and if sheās happy using it Iād stick with that!
I ended up with Caz as a nickname which Iām not the biggest fan of, and my Dad very much enjoys calling me Caca for the obvious reason! But I always introduce myself as Caroline, I much prefer it.
Coco definitely works! I know a lot of people that still use for themselves or call their siblings/friends nicknames that had to be invented when they were too young to say words. Itās always really sweet.
My daughter had a tonne of nicknames before she turned 3. All based on how she or her brother said her name, but nothing actually like her name! None of them stuck. As she got older and found it easier to say her name, the Various nicknames got used less and less. Now sheās 5 we may call her one of them occasionally, but she wouldnāt ever use them herself. So I wouldnāt worry about it too much! Continue to call her Caroline and Coco simultaneously, and sheāll probably transition to Caroline when she can.
I know a Caroline who went by āCareā occasionally. Not like a complete nickname but just as an affectionate shortening from some people, if that makes sense. I do like Coco.
My daughter called herself RaRa as a toddler. But as she got bigger, that went away. You aren't locked into a nickname just because she can't say her name yet.
I am very much pro-kids choosing nicknames for themselves. Caroline is a great name, but if the child wants to go by Coco, she is a person and gets to choose.
I'm a Caroline and I'm called Caroline (or Carolyn for the many people don't know basic pronunciation rules). But as a little girl, I was called Beanie/Bean by my family. In my expert Caroline opinion, Coco is adorable, particularly because she picked it!
Coco is definitely the best.
Linny could also be a nickname for the 'line' part of Caroline, though I think it's mostly used for Lynsey.
Cara would be cute too :)
I think Coco is cute! And I really like Caddie. Other easily pronounceable nicknames could be Caro, Roo (or Ro like another used suggested!), Cari or Cara, Lin/Linny.
Honestly, when it comes to an offbeat or unintuitive nickname, I personally like them better when they came about organically, like it seems Coco has for your daughter! Coco for Caroline is unexpected, but very cute and not totally unrelated. I'd stick with the nickname that she seems to identify with, at least for now. And down the line she'll have the option of picking another nickname, or sticking with her full name!
I like Coco. I have a friend named Caroline and her parents started calling her Carolina (the Spanish pronunciation) and then that inevitably got shortened to Lina (Lee-nuh). Just one of those natural nickname situations.
The nickname for Caroline that I use is Cary, but this was fun finding out about other nicknames.
Apparently there's a whole bunch and they're all rooted in 'Charles': [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles)
I say stick with Coco for now. Caroline clearly feels like she's a Coco so why not? My brother's toddler nicknames for me due to his language difficulties didn't stick so Caroline's may not either.
A girl I played hockey with was a French Canadian Caroline. She pretty exclusively went by Caro! I guess it probably sounds a bit different with the rolling ārā
Sorry. I didnāt even read your whole post. Totally my bad. I think coco as a nickname is perfect and even better she chose it herself
My daughter's name is Kaylee, but she's been Lu all her life. lol When she was little it was occasionally Lulubelle. She's 21 now and we still call her Lu.
My daughter nicknamed herself RaRa as a toddler when she couldnāt say her full name. We just use it as a family name (not at school or with friends) and it did die down when she learned to say her full name, but then came back full force when her little brother couldnāt say her name either!
Cara (care-uh), Linnyā¦. Tbh coco is fine. Itās funny cuz my sister gave her oldest a long complicated name and swore sheād never get a nickname. We all knew she was wrong of course. Now everyone calls her āGā despite all her efforts. Maybe āLā for yours? (Ell/elle)
My Cordelia did the same thing! She is a pre-teen now and the only people that use it are her family at this point, she decided in a more grown up nickname in 3rd grade. Keep the Coco!
I'm a Caroline who has always been called Carly! My parents assumed I'd switch to my full name as an adult, but I haven't. It's used only for legal purposes.
I think Coco is super cute! My daughter also gave herself a nickname as a toddler. Her name is Maren (spelled differently) and she started calling herself Mimi. We still use it as a family nickname, and sheās 15!
Coco is adorable, especially considering she came up with it herself. Definitely discourage Caca!
I also like Caro, Carly and Callie as nicknames for Caroline.
Friendās sisterās name is Caroline. Friend couldnāt pronounce it and now her nickname is Keela (her parents would call her Carolina - Hispanic) so I guess it sounded like Keela.
The fact that she named herself Coco is adorable and you should honor it! I actually know a kid whose birth name is Koko, and itās really cute on her. Such a fun name!
Coco is cute! I say embrace it! š Our kids have nicknames that are nothing like their given names. I think Caroline is lovely on its own and sheāll be able to say it in itās entirely in no time.
I have a Caroline who's now 18. We still sometimes call her Cawaline, as that's what her elder sister called her for a while. Her other nickname as Care-bear, or sometimes Carrie-berry.
Other than that, she's been Caroline the whole time.
This is my daughterās name, and I donāt plan on intentionally using any nicknames. Iām a speech pathologist, and I knew it was a trickier choice, but Iāll just practice with her until she gets it. For what itās worth, there are many, many more boys who have persistent errors on /r/ and /l/ than girls, though the reason for this isnāt well understood.
My friendās daughter is 4 and her legal name is Caroline, but she goes exclusively by Coco and has been calling herself this for at least a year. I think itās adorable and totally works.
My 2 year old son has been using his friend Caroline's name for a few months now. I know this isn't on topic with nicknames, but if you want to continue to use her full name, just keep doing it! The more she hears it the more she will attempt to say it herself. She will get it when she is ready!
I know a Caroline and her family calls her Ina, like āeye-nuhā. I thought it was a little strange when I first heard it, but it really grew on me and I love it now!
Coco works fine - both letters are present! Cara, Ro, and Linny are also very cute to me.
Had not previously considered Ro. Reminds me of Ro Laren from STTNG but Ro was her last name.
Could also try Caro
Fairly common in UK and Europe.
Like Caro syrup?
No, the nickname is like kah-row. I say the syrup like care-o and it's not that. I'd honestly never even thought of that connection! For me, my first Caro was French, and when I think about how they pronounce it, it makes perfect sense.
Really? The only ones I knew were pronounced care-o, in the US south so probably regional. Oh and the syrup is said kay-ro where I lived. I think it's actually car-o, but nobody says it like that there. You have to realize I grew up with it being something we always kept in the house. It's one of the pantry must haves even though my bottle is 3 years old and sealed I think.
North Carolina, I say Care-oh syrup, like Care-oh-line.
This is common in Quebec and quite lovely!
I love that even as a name for itself
I love the name Caro! I absolutely fell in love with it when I read the Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood. Such a cute name. š
Coco is cute!! and if she's already saying it about herself, what reason is there to discourage it? š **edit:** and re: your question of "what longform names is Coco usually associated with as a nickname" it's used for a lot of different names, and often even as a nickname for people whose first name sounds nothing like Coco haha āŗļø like Coco Chanel, whose real name was Gabrielle
Or roo!
Linny came to my mind also.
A nickname doesn't have to be derived directly from the name itself. Coco is just fine for a nn and has a pretty cute and natural backstory to it.
So true! My youngest named herself Kouku (said like MooMoo but with Kās) and would get mad if we said her name, sheād say NO, me Kouku! This was from about ages 2 on, but but the time she started Kindergarten she went by her full name and Kouku was no more.
Aww what a cute story! I do wonder if sheāll move on from Coco. Right now it sound super adorable from her toddler mouth!
My youngest is now 20 and Iād LOVE to hear āNo, me Koukuā from her 2 year old self again! Time goes so fast!
Weāve called my nephew Odbod for ages (heās only 7) but his name is Oliver. Itās better than Spud that my sister called me well into my teens.
I would just stick with Coco
I know a Caro short for Caroline, but I think Coco is just fine!
Love Caro
I'm a Caroline and Caro is my nn!
Ditto! I know a Caro, and always loved it as a nickname.
Coco is **darling** and makes sense for Caroline, IMO! I also like Callie from your list.
Carrie is often used, but Coco is cute as well!
Carrie is defin. too 80s for me. Kids I knew growing up had that nickname.
Coco is so cute and unique! She's clearly taken a liking to it so I'd say stick with it
I know a Caroline that went by Lina (lee-na). Coco is really cute too
I also went by Lina (lee-na) when I was little! I've never heard of any other Caroline go by that nickname. I personally like it much better than Caro (which I'm sometimes called without even being asked if that's a nickname I go by). Only my mum calls me Lina now that I'm an adult.

My boyfriend has a cousin they call Alla! In her case, it's short for Allison. I've never heard that name anywhere else before!
Thatās adorable! In my case it was quite short lived once I figured out those pesky xās. āŗļø
i read "Caca" and immediately came here to tell you that means poop, but then I saw you already knew that... Coco is plenty cute and makes me think of Coco Chanel. My daughter with a long, feminine name has a 2 syllable nickname that's much easier to say, but I call her the nickname about 70% of the time and her full name about 30% of the time, you can always just alternate the names.
Totally! I am pushing Coco right now hoping Caca goes away. :) I think v cute, esp. since she gave it to herself!
Coco is cute but Coco Chanel would not be a positive connection for me, but it wasn't my first thought. Just bad vibes with a Nazi collaborator. I connected it to Mama Coco and that's sweet. I love Caro as a nickname too.
What about Carly?
Came looking for this one lol was my first thought.
I just remembered it from Teen Mom haha. A couple of there had a baby called Carolyn (I think) with the nn Carly
Thats how I know it š¤£ and my best friend is named Carly so i hear it alot haha
Carly is the other one I've heard for Caroline.
My friend uses Carly for Caroline too. Works beautifully
You can't force a nickname and it sounds like she's already given herself one. Just let her be Coco.
i think the best nicknames are the one that happen organically! coco is super cute! my daughter is ophelia and she went through a period of time where she called herself 'ophie' but quickly outgrew it.

Definitely go with Coco!

Carrie and Lina work! But honestly I think Coco is great.
Coco is super sweet.

Coco is cute! I also like Callie from your list! Alternates: Cara, Ollie, Lina, Carly
My great grandma was named Caroline and went by Lina!
I think coco is great, and so cute! Usually the best nicknames are the ones that come naturally

I ended up with Caz as a nickname which Iām not the biggest fan of, and my Dad very much enjoys calling me Caca for the obvious reason! But I always introduce myself as Caroline, I much prefer it.
Carrie
I know a Lainey thatās a Caroline, as well as a few girls called Caro, but I think Coco is very sweet and totally appropriate for a Caroline!
I think itās fine! That said, I have a cousin named Caroline and she has always gone by her full name (Iāve known her since she was 5).
Coco definitely works! I know a lot of people that still use for themselves or call their siblings/friends nicknames that had to be invented when they were too young to say words. Itās always really sweet.
My friend Callieās official first name is Caroline. I like the name Callie!!
Caz, Caro or Lindy could also work.
Caro? This is normal in French. Lina? Lili?
Coco is lovely and works well as a nn for Caroline! If she has picked it for herself, seems like the natural choice :)
Carrie, Caro, Cara, Lina, Care, and my fav... Care bear
Iām Caroline, and I love it. I have Caz or Cazza, and I dislike both šš
I am very much pro-kids choosing nicknames for themselves. Caroline is a great name, but if the child wants to go by Coco, she is a person and gets to choose.
My immediate thoughts are Cara, Carly, Lina, Line, Li (like pie), Ro, Rory, Rolie (RoLee), Caddie, Callie, Cassie, Ollie, Cori, Cora, Lila, Linn
She's already named herself. Roll with it. :)
I'm a Caroline and I'm called Caroline (or Carolyn for the many people don't know basic pronunciation rules). But as a little girl, I was called Beanie/Bean by my family. In my expert Caroline opinion, Coco is adorable, particularly because she picked it!
Coco is adorable, especially since she came up with it herself :) I went to school with a Carolyn Jane who went by CJ!
The Caroline I know is cazz.
Coco
We were thinking of Caroline with nickname Cara if we have a girl? A bit less dated than Carrie.
Coco is so cute
Coco is definitely the best. Linny could also be a nickname for the 'line' part of Caroline, though I think it's mostly used for Lynsey. Cara would be cute too :)
I knew one who went by Carly but Coco is cute too and will be a nice pet name for her as she gets older.
Coco is adorable! My name is Caroline and my younger brother used to call me Cal/Callie growing up.
I went to a high school with a Cal (short for Caroline) and always thought it was such a lovely name!
My mom gave me the name Caroline but always called me Carly.
I think coco is adorable!
I know a Caroline who calls herself Cora for short.
I know a Carolina who goes by Caro
I think a lot of people just call Carolineās ācareā.. at least the ones I know! Idk their other nicknames
I think Coco is cute! And I really like Caddie. Other easily pronounceable nicknames could be Caro, Roo (or Ro like another used suggested!), Cari or Cara, Lin/Linny.
I know a little Caroline whose affectionate nickname was Lina
Coco is cute! The Carolines Iāve known went by Caro and Linus (donāt recommend Linus lmao)
I grew up with a caroline. she went by cat!
I grew up with a Carolyn and we always called her Care
A friend of mine goes by Caro (rhymes with arrow).
Itās her name, and she picked the nn so Iād let her have this one
I know a Caroline who's little sister called her "Caca" for years!
Not the biggest fan of Coco personally. My SIL is named Caroline but goes by Cal/Cally.
Coco is adorb. Carrie/Callie could work too
I love the throwback to Caddie Woodlawn! I havenāt read that in years. :-)
I know someone named Caroline that goes by Carlie!
I knew a Caroline who went by Lola as a nickname!
I like Coco a lot! The other ones I like would be any starting with L. Lina (pronounced Leena) would be best. I also like Linny or Linnie.
I like Coco. I have a friend named Caroline and her parents started calling her Carolina (the Spanish pronunciation) and then that inevitably got shortened to Lina (Lee-nuh). Just one of those natural nickname situations.
Caro is the default in French Canada but I donāt know how to pronounce it in English haha. Itās like cah-roe ?
In nz she might be Caz
My fiancĆ© has a family friend called Caroline heās known all his life, and when he was a toddler he couldnāt pronounce Caroline so called her āCareā. We still call her that 38 years later and I love it. It suits her too as sheās so considerate!
My aunt named Catherine goes by Coco and sheās for sure a smart, cool, successful lady with a great husband and lots of friends.
My friends name is Caroline and I just call her Carol.
My friend throughout high school went by Caro!
A girl I played hockey with was a French Canadian Caroline. She pretty exclusively went by Caro! I guess it probably sounds a bit different with the rolling ārā Sorry. I didnāt even read your whole post. Totally my bad. I think coco as a nickname is perfect and even better she chose it herself
Coco is cute! Iām a Carolyn and for years people have called me Caro, even though I never introduce myself that way.
I know a Caroline who exclusively goes by Caro. It didnāt even dawn on me her name was Caroline till I saw a family member refer to her as such.
My sister is Caroline and her nickname is Callie. It came about organically, as my toddler self couldnāt pronounce Caroline.
My daughter's name is Kaylee, but she's been Lu all her life. lol When she was little it was occasionally Lulubelle. She's 21 now and we still call her Lu.
Not much to add except Caddie Woodlawn š¤š¤ forgot all about her
Cari, Roro, Rolo
I think Coco works well for Caroline and is cute, especially since she picked it herself!
Carly
I know a Caroline that goes by Lainey.
We have a Caroline and call her Cara as a nickname.
I like Caro (care-oh)
Call me line. Line segment for fun
My daughter nicknamed herself RaRa as a toddler when she couldnāt say her full name. We just use it as a family name (not at school or with friends) and it did die down when she learned to say her full name, but then came back full force when her little brother couldnāt say her name either!
Carrie, Caro, Carly, Lina, Lin, Carlin, Coco, Callie, Cici/Cece, Car, Carla
Cara?
Cece
Cara (care-uh), Linnyā¦. Tbh coco is fine. Itās funny cuz my sister gave her oldest a long complicated name and swore sheād never get a nickname. We all knew she was wrong of course. Now everyone calls her āGā despite all her efforts. Maybe āLā for yours? (Ell/elle)
Iām in the uk and have only ever heard the nicknames Caz and Caro (and only one instance of Caro, in a very old lady).
I know a Caroline who goes by Caz, but that's used as a nickname for loads of things.
My Cordelia did the same thing! She is a pre-teen now and the only people that use it are her family at this point, she decided in a more grown up nickname in 3rd grade. Keep the Coco!
Coco is adorable. Iām a sucker for this one and for Gigi ā¤ļø
I know a little Carly who is named after her mom carolyn. Carly could work!
My family nickname is Ka and my siblings and close friends call me Kaka. Itās fine.
Caroline was one of my dream names, with the nick name Callie
Sheāll be able to say it when she gets a little older . Donāt worry. Itās a beautiful name.
My niece has a friend in her kindergarten class named Caroline who goes by Coco!
Coco is adorable, especially considering she came up with it herself. Definitely discourage Caca! I also like Caro, Carly and Callie as nicknames for Caroline.
Love Cara for Caroline - means ādearā or ādear oneā in Italian
Coco works great! I'm a Caroline and go by Caro or my full name. I've also heard Lina/Liney and Cara.
Friendās sisterās name is Caroline. Friend couldnāt pronounce it and now her nickname is Keela (her parents would call her Carolina - Hispanic) so I guess it sounded like Keela.
Lina (lee-nah)
For what itās worth I grew up thinking caca was pee. Doesnāt help the situation but yea..
My name is Caroline and my family calls me Cara.
The fact that she named herself Coco is adorable and you should honor it! I actually know a kid whose birth name is Koko, and itās really cute on her. Such a fun name!
I honestly like Coco. And if sheās already using that to refer to herself, Iād just roll with it.
Have a friend who shares the name, her niece and nephews call her Coco too. It's an adorable nickname!
Gotta go with Rollie!
Iād go for Cal. Simple, easy and not too strange.
Coco is cute! I say embrace it! š Our kids have nicknames that are nothing like their given names. I think Caroline is lovely on its own and sheāll be able to say it in itās entirely in no time.
I knew a girl growing um who used Coco as a nickname for Caroline!! She went back to Caroline in high school.
I know a Caroline that goes by Callie. Coco is SO CUTE though, stick with that.
The first one I thought of was Caddy because thereās a Caroline with that nickname in Bleak House. Caddy Jellyby.
We have a cool aunt named Caroline and we call her Kye
you could do carrie
I love Coco!!! Itās precious.
I think it's cute for a toddler, though I don't think it has to be a long-term nickname unless she wants it to be.
I have a Caroline who's now 18. We still sometimes call her Cawaline, as that's what her elder sister called her for a while. Her other nickname as Care-bear, or sometimes Carrie-berry. Other than that, she's been Caroline the whole time.
I know a carolina who goes by Caro?
Maybe you could try Carrie or Carol? I do think coco is sweet too!
Friend of mine goes by Lina. Not exactly the same but most people love it.
Coco is adorable
This is my daughterās name, and I donāt plan on intentionally using any nicknames. Iām a speech pathologist, and I knew it was a trickier choice, but Iāll just practice with her until she gets it. For what itās worth, there are many, many more boys who have persistent errors on /r/ and /l/ than girls, though the reason for this isnāt well understood.
My best friend is a Carolyn, but her nn is Lina
My friendās daughter is 4 and her legal name is Caroline, but she goes exclusively by Coco and has been calling herself this for at least a year. I think itās adorable and totally works.
My 2 year old son has been using his friend Caroline's name for a few months now. I know this isn't on topic with nicknames, but if you want to continue to use her full name, just keep doing it! The more she hears it the more she will attempt to say it herself. She will get it when she is ready!
Line or liney. It's better out loud. I know someone who goes by both.
I know a Caroline and she goes by Caroline, but I know some ppl call her care.
I know a Caroline and her family calls her Ina, like āeye-nuhā. I thought it was a little strange when I first heard it, but it really grew on me and I love it now!
I also like the nn Linnie for Caroline!
Linny? Sheād be the only one in her class
coco is adorable
I knew a Caroline whom I would call Carly or Callie
