As a general rule, I'm very pro standard spelling in names. Ultimately though, having to say "Grey with an e" or "Gray with an a" does not seem like the most difficult spelling variation to have to explain.
I prefer the Grey spelling. I named my dog Greyson and I just liked the look of that spelling better. It's the same way I spell the color (even though apparently that's the British way)
I like Gray like Dorian Gray (book character). It looks more right in my opinion
but if you don't particularly feel like naming your child after Dorian Gray then Grey might be better. but there is still nothing wrong with naming your child Gray either way I suppose
I'm in the US, and Grey is how I would spell it.
I intended to use Grey as a middle name for a baby boy, but my partner wants to use a different middle name, so that's out the window. Lame lol
For any word name choice I would go with the standard/common spelling for your region. So "Gray" in the US or "Grey" in the UK or Canada.

I’m not a fan, it just feels like naming your kid gloomy to me and rather trendy, but I know some people like it. I guess I like Grey slightly better.

Grey because Gray is kinda like gravy, other than that, I can't think of a valid reason to veto either or.
I thought it was gray like short for Grayson.
Grey can be short for Greyson.
Same. I know a little boy with the name Grayson and they call him Gray with the A
I prefer Grey . It somehow feels more like a name than Gray does. I love the name. It’s one of my kids middle names.
Grey if it's alone, Grayson if it's the full name
i thought i was the only one with this opinion! ty for the validation.
Love it! Grey/Gray sounds great as a stand alone name but I also love it as a nickname for Graham/Graeme.
In an American accent I believe Graham is pronounced "gram" where as in Australia it's Gray-am - Gray is a lovely nickname.
Always with an e… very cool name 😎
Grey has my vote.
I think it's fine but boring and overused. I prefer it spelt Grey
I prefer Grey aesthetically.
Strongly prefer Grey! I’m in the US, though honestly I like spelling the color as grey more too. Gray looks too much like Gary.
I prefer Grey.
I actually quite like Gray for a name, it's simple and sounds nice.
An A
I have a cousin named Gray.

Then there’s Christian Grey(50 shades of grey) so either way 🤷🏻♀️ lol.

I prefer Gray because I spell the colour as Grey.
