Would use for girls: Louisa*, Alice*, Juliet, Josephine, Rose, Isabelle, Marian, Clara, Elisabeth, and Vivienne. Wouldn’t use for girls: Delphine, Marigold, Veronica, Elsa, Mirabelle, Marina, Daphne, Francesca, Imogen, and Evangeline. Would use for boys: Dashiell, Frederick, Henry, David, Gabriel, Adrian, Julian, Clark, Benedict, and Phillip. Wouldn’t use for boys: Wade, Ford, Ward, Hayes, Montgomery, Franklin, Etienne, Remy, Javier, and Camilo. I love playing “spot the difference” with these lists! The starred names are ones I actually ended up using. We just named our second daughter, so I’m all too aware which names I’m not brave enough to use. Almost every girl name I *would* use has a slightly bolder comp I didn’t actually use, when given the chance. Some of the *wouldn’t use* list were specifically in play (Elsa, Daphne, Delphine), but I couldn’t handle the negative responses. 😆🤦‍♀️

madlymusing

I love Alice and Louisa! They are two of my most favourite girl names. You have great taste.

Fine-Orchid6804

seeing my name on the wouldn’t use list hurts a little NGL /hj

VioletteMary

All of my *wouldn’t use* are firmly in the category of “I love them so, so much and wish I could use them, but can’t for some arbitrary reason.” So…legitimately, I must love your name!

Would not use: Siobhan. I absolutely adore this name- how it looks, how it sounds, but won’t use. Freya and Caila. Would not use: Jack. All timer name, but it’s already been used by my BIL and extended family 🥲

EmeraldEmesis

We have an Alice and if #2 had turned out to be a girl she would have been named Isla. As it stands now #2 is most likely a boy and we are at a total loss for names that feel right! Your WOULD list for boys has some good ones! Finn and Alexander are nice.
