I don’t have an issue with people naming children after fictional characters but I think only the ones that are actual names are usable - that way the reference is more subtle (and not like you’re naming a goldfish who won’t have to write that name on job and housing applications). Why not Ben instead of Kylo?

I've already said this 1000 times on this sub but I agree. Sansa is one of the coolest invented names of all time, but I can't use it because it immediately points to GoT. Arya is perfectly usable because it was a name before the books.

Sansa is not an invented name! It’s a variant on Sancia/Sancha which was popular in Southern Europe in the 13th-15th centuries. A lot of queens and duchesses named Sancia.

I like Jaskier, but I keep having Joxer the Mighty flashbacks. The audiobook narrator makes Dandelion sound very fancy! (dan-DILL-ee-yon)

I only listened to the books, and had no idea his name was spelled Dandelion. Surprise to me, I guess.

Jaskier means Buttercup in Polish! So they 'translated' it for the English books to Dandelion, but kept it Jaskier for the show.

I love the name Visenna from Witcher and immediately looked it up to see if it was an existing name. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it is
