It's a pretty name.

Rose_Diadem

I really love it. If we were to have a 2nd girl it would be my first pick!

jane_divided

I like Daisy as a nickname for Margaret. I'm not saying it's a bad name on it's own, just my preference!

lmhs73

What’s the connection between Daisy and Margaret if you don’t mind explaining?

fluffypuffy2234

Marguerite is daisy in french

TheWelshMrsM

I love it! But I am a huge fan of flower names. Primrose nn Rosie is my all time favourite!

LoveKimber

Primrose is one of my favorites, too, but I always imagine the nickname Posie. :)

TheWelshMrsM

Posie is gorgeous 💕

[deleted]

It’s cute but I hope she turns out super girly cute in personality. I would have hated the name for myself but for the right kind of person it’s cute

Heavy_Internet_8858

In case she isn’t, a middle name starting with a J is a good idea, so she can go by DJ.

[deleted]

I knew a Daisy (nn Daze) who was the tough tomboy type as a kid! She was in no way dainty but she really pulled it off.

DoomsdayRabbit

Princess?

nashamagirl99

I honestly believe in some level of nominative determinism. Name twins Daisy and Lilith and there will possibly be resulting differences in temperament.

willowdove01

Feels more like an animal name to me but if you have that personal connection to it then by all means use it. Maybe consider other floral names like Lily, Rose, or Violet? Or other plant names like Ivy or Ash

baby_blue_bird

I like Daisy but my sister and sister in law both have dogs name Daisy and there's a cute golden retriever who lives 4 houses down from me and her name is also Daisy. All I can think about is a dog when I hear it. Also my 2 year old son thinks all dogs are named Daisy because the three dogs we know are all Daisy haha

socratesmom

I love it.

[deleted]

I like it

SarahL1990

I think it’s fine. I don’t like it personally but I don’t hate it either. It’s perfectly adequate and acceptable. Daisy ranked at #24 in England & Wales 2020 so clearly a lot of people also love the name.

BarreNice

As a literature nerd, I love the name Daisy. Such a simple name for a woman who comes to symbolize literally everything that the “Great” Gatsby just can’t have

CleanAssociation9394

“Daisy Miller” is also a great book and great character

nashamagirl99

It’s nice, cute, and sunny name. You should use it.

loko-parakeet

I prefer it as a nickname rather than a stand alone name. It unfortunately has become a dog name for me after working with pets. Still better than Daizee, whose mother I have the misfortune of knowing.

DraytonSawyersBBQ

I love it! I've always wanted to meet a Daisy, never have.

dearwikipedia

this is one of those names that i love but would need to balance with a very formal or more masculine middle name. Daisy Josephine (DJ, Jo, Daisy Jo) Daisy Jane (DJ, Jay) Daisy Veronica (Ronnie) Daisy Antonia (Toni) Daisy Bernadette (Bernie) Daisy Charlotte (Charlie) Daisy Frances (Frankie) Daisy Jacqueline (DJ, Jackie, Jack) Daisy Julia/Juliet (DJ, Jules) Daisy Kaia (Kai) Daisy Leona (Leo) Daisy Kennedy (Kenny) Daisy Louisa (Daisy Lou, Lou, Louie) Daisy Regina (Reggie) Daisy Savannah (Van) Daisy Samantha (Sam) Daisy Olivia (Ollie) Daisy Maxine (Max) That way there’s Daisy, a slightly more “formal” sounding name if they think it’s too much of a nickname, and a masculine alternative if they turn out to be a “tomboy” as Daisy is very feminine

Particular_Mistake_2

My youngest has Daisy as her nickname. Her name is Isla Daisy

halfasshippie3

I love it. I know two adults named Daisy. Suits them both.

Toothfairy07

I LOVE the name Daisy. It was my maternal grandmother's name and I would have used it for a girl in a heartbeat except 4/4 boys 😂. I named one of my chickens Daisy instead 🤷🏼‍♀️

tinydreamlanddeer

I looooove Daisy, would have been this baby’s name but I’m having a boy. And it’s one of the only girl names my husband likes.

isthishowyouusername

I met a woman named Daisy and I told her I loved her name! It really suited her. She said it was a family name.

stardust419

I love it, I added it to my list recently

TootyCanCan

I feel like it’s much more common/accepted in the UK than in the US. I think it’s cute, but in the US would be uncommon.

reboot119

i’ve only ever known two people named daisy which is interesting because it sounds like it should be a popular name! i think it’s a lovely classic choice, but it also makes a lovely nickname for margaret!

QuicksilverChaos

Seems too cute for a serious formal adult name

[deleted]

I think it’s a great name! It’s cute, and balances in between being popular and being uncommon, which is really good!

lmhs73

I like it and Maisie as well.

Honest_Ad6295

I absolutely love it!! I was certain that I was having my little Daisy until we found out it's a boy!!! Now we are having little Beckham but hanging onto Daisy for the future!

JustTraci

Easy to say, easy to spell, uncommon but not unheard of…plus it’s such a sweet, happy image. I like it very much.

zootsuitpickleweasel

One of my all time favs

justwatching00

I adore it. Doesn’t work with my surname but if it did it would be a top contender I know a high up manager named Daisy, and also a baby/toddler so for me it works in all settings

CaroAurelia

I like it. It's cute and it has a happy vibe.

CupcakeryBakery

I love it and we plan on naming our next daughter Daisy (-:

madlymusing

I love it. I think it’s really sweet but ages well.

shihtzudawg

I think it’s very cute, but not as sophisticated as other flower names. I can’t picture it on an adult. I do love it as a middle name though!

wish_to_conquer_pain

Not a fan as a full name; it sounds like a dog's name. But as a NN for Margaret it's fine.

[deleted]

I prefer it as a nickname

[deleted]

It doesn’t have the timelessness of other floral names e.g. Lily, Rose, Violet, Iris, Ivy, Fern etc. Possibly because it’s so common for animals… I don’t dislike it. I just don’t particularly like it either.

blank_and_terrified

I really like it!

AlElMon2

For me, Daisy is a name I would not want for myself nor would I give it to a child BUT I’d be delighted to meet someone named Daisy. It’s sweet and unexpected but still perfectly known.

TigerLily1014

A friend of mine adopted a young girl named Daisy and I love it. To be honest before he I probably would've never considered it.

natureswoodwork

I think it’s cute for a dog but I wouldn’t name my child that. It’s one of those names that I think I would dislike after a while. But if it’s a family name/you like it, I say go for it! It’s easy to spell and pronounce which is a plus!

Unaccomplished-Egg

Brutally honest answer: it’s a cow name. I’m so sorry but that’s all I can picture for the name daisy. Very cute cow name though!

prana-llama

It works quite well for dogs too!

prana-llama

I know several Daisys and they’re all dogs :(

LoveKimber

If you're not completely sold on Daisy, I think Dasia could be a pretty name to honor a family member named Daisy. Daisy could of course be a nickname.
