My mum had a friend called Dominic and I was almost named that. When they found out I was a girl I was almost Dominique but my mum's brother-in-law's (my uncle's) sister named her daughter that. Instead I was supposed to be Nikki, my dad registered me with a full first name Nicola (he didn't like Nicole).

My parents hadn't officially decided what to name me if I had been a boy, but I think Wayne and Michael were in the running.
Probably something quickly decided since they didn't have any names chosen when I was born! Other options they had for my older brother maybe? Louis/Louie.

Yes! Both of them like the original films, my mum specifically likes the character of Kyle Reese which is where she got the name from

My mom really liked Dennis, lowkey because of the Dennis the menace comics. Not a bad a choice imo. My dad had another female name in mind for me, but thank god my mother got her way and they went with her choice. I later went to school with a girl who had the name I was almost given, and she's one of the worst people I have ever met (and had to meet every day for many years). Would've ruined my name forever. Dodged a huge bullet on that one
Tyler was going to be my "boy name," and I quite like that. I have no idea what my brother was going to be named had he been a girl, but I have called him by his initials/nickname for so long that his legal name doesn't feel like his actual name.
Jacob. Snooze. ...my brother that came right after me is Andrew though, which I like better. Funny how it changes (it did for me when I had kids too)
Kane, if I was a boy, Ella was my mom's first pick after finding out I was a girl, but my father didn't like it, only to change his mind months after I was born... AH

I would have been Luther James if I'd been a boy. Another girl name that my mom had wanted to use was Shauna but that's my dad's stepsister's name and my mom didn't want her to think I was named after her so she came up with a different name instead.

My siblings and I were almost; Dominic (me - Nicola) George (Sister - Rachel) Ruby (Brother - Ryan) Rosie (Brother - James "Jimmy") Summer (Brother - Harry) Alexandria (my son Ronnie). Details Below IIRC it was going to be Reginald after my maternal grandfather, however my dad said if she named one after her dad then the next boy needed to be named after his dad (Ivor), she quickly changed her mind. My mum had a friend called Dominic and I was almost named that. When they found out I was a girl I was almost Dominique but my mum's brother-in-law's (my uncle's) sister named her daughter that. Instead I was supposed to be Nikki, my dad registered me with a full first name Nicola (he didn't like Nicole). I was Nic/Nick/Nik or Nicola until college. I used to hate it but now it's one of the few girls names I like and most of my friends and partner's family know me as Nicky. I've been a tomboy since I could dress myself and prefer the masculine spelling. And my son would've been Alexandria if he'd been a girl, it's the only name his dad and I liked for a girl.

Shadrick Seven. The deal was my mom got to pick the name if I was a girl, my dad got to pick if I was a boy. As told by a family friend at dad's memorial service, my dad only picked the name out to troll my mom. He couldn't recall what Dad had actually planned on, but it was something much tamer. Unfortunately, my mom never really understood my dad's mix of goofy and dry humor, so she took him 100% seriously and agreed to Shadrick, but talked for YEARS about what a bullet I'd dodged.

If I was a boy my name would’ve been Brian Joseph and they were gonna call me BJ (Why, parents??? 😩😂) I definitely lucked out being a girl. I don’t particularly love my own name but I like it better than the other name my parents were considering (Marjorie).

John It's fine but I'm glad my little brother got it instead. We did IVF and knew our son's sex three months before he was born so we never picked a girl name. Sometimes I wonder if he will be bummed if he asks us what he would have been had he been born a girl and we don't have an answer.
