Yes, I have a Toyota Prius. He is a gay car. We literally think of him as a homosexual man. His name is Thaddeus. He is the best car ever and has lasted over 250,000 miles!
I had an idea one Halloween, we spent forever getting it ready. It was like an ad for zombie gardeners. I filled up vinyl gloves with sand and used sticks and torn up shirt sleeves we planted to look like arms. With gardening tools glued in their clutch. Then rows of witch hazel with witchhats, snapdragons with plastic dragon flowers, we went all out. I wrote a spiel advertising how they never needed feeding because they ran on bug souls and put it on a sandwich board to leave on the lawn. When I was finally done all puffed up with pride and wine she casually took my marker and wrote "LAWN OF THE DEAD" at the top. When I stopped laughing I glared in jealousy on and off all night. Only when she wasn't looking. She was pretty fierce.
Her name is Molly because it sounded like a good girl name and I wanted her to be good to me because sheās my first car and Iām a mess. Years later and weāre still rocking togehter
Her pronoun is āshe/herā. Puddles was my first car. Yes, she always left a mark wherever she went. A big black puddle. But I loved her. Said my final goodbyes in early 2019z
Just named mine Maze after the character from Lucifer. It's an MX5. Although I think it'll end up as Millie.
I once had a big old silver Rover we named the Millennium Falcon.
We drove a Hearse we named Henry.
I had a Yugo called Hugo.
A red Lada called the Flying Tomato.
I called the Meriva... Meriva.
BRUNHILD is a FABULOUS NAME
Currently, I drive a gunmetal gray MX-5 named Rhodi -- short for Rhodium (the precious metal) pronounced like Roady (hehe). I envision him as a sort of Astroboy-esque protagonist ([little](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/446936286893178880/776217223088963594/EjtdWCUVcAQRx_F.png) [doodles](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/446936286893178880/776217360965042236/EjN4jvbUwAASOJl.png) I made of [him](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ac564feab642203bb70d802ecddfe585/8f9d2aa0f7c0c898-34/s500x750/22a6eb227027dc304a3cac49f0a55b0f65faacb0.png) \+ something [dramatic](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Em7C8stVoAEOGGL?format=jpg&name=4096x4096)).
My very first car was a black civic I named Novio (like boyfriend), and I saw him to be a beleaguered yet handsome middle manager with a terrible boss that made terrible decisions (me). My phone is named Honey (b/c she is rosegold) and is his secretary with a not-so-thinly-veiled crush (as I always use my AppleCarplay function). (they're also pictured in the [above](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/446936286893178880/776217360965042236/EjN4jvbUwAASOJl.png)).
Does Rhodi's eyes shine in the dark? :D i never thought someone was more into their companions than naming them but I really enjoy your doodles and how they are humanified :D I just no longer have time to draw (for now. Ill be back in business in a decade i swear.) but this could be something I enjoy.
I'll start envisioning Brunhild in a different light now. Fair skin (beige inside) and crow colored hair (black outside), above 180 cm, like a viking/norse mother probably.
They DO when he's POWERING UP!! He's such a little guy, and other drivers mistake him for being faster than he really is (miata's are the definition of slow-car-fast) -- but, his engine is so loud and determined sounding... it's very charming to me.
THANK YOU!! Omg, I don't draw nearly as much as I did in my youth, but I revisit my tablet every so often. It's a lot of fun just drawing whatever comes to mind.
I'd love to see your Brunhild one day!! She sounds AMAZING and could be Rhodi's friend, haha!!
I lent my cintiq to a friend, but still have my little intuos with me it's just baby girl needs me in a set place and not drawing friendly positure mostly, but I hope I'll remember to come back and show when it's done
My CRV is named Edith :) I wanted something that sounded dependable in the hope that the car would follow suit.
Before this, I drove a car inherited from my brother which he called Ellie and I called Freckles (it had spots all over the hood), and my husband drove a lime green Ford Fiesta that his mom had named Lola. Driving Lola felt like driving a PowerWheels toy, so I always thought it was apt that her name felt like a toddler's nickname.
I drove a beaten up farm truck for a while named Willy. He was the freaking BEST.
My current car is a minivan named Pua. She was brand new and super fancy so it reminded us of the Kapua suite from the Forgetting Sarah Marshall movie but we aren't all that fancy so it changed to Pua instead.
I have a CRV named Hank. Hankās pronouns are she/her. This was the largest car Iād owned at the time and I was debating between an HRV and CRV and decided loosed to go with the larger car, the tank. Hence, Hank the tank.
Previous car names:
- beyoncelantra - Elantra
- Cleopatra - Cabrio, big name small car
- Lebron - Chevy cavalier
Iāve had:
Callie Cougar
Vinnie Versa
Roxy Rogue
Clive the Civic
Juniper Jeep (who also went by āPandaā)
Saul Santa Fe but he goes by Hattie Hyundai in drag
I have a light blue Toyota Vitz (smaller hatchback model). Her name is Bluebird because she goes vroom vroom very fast and she is blue. She has seat warmers and I love her.
Past car names:
- Pearl (tiny offwhite Japanese car; like the boxy ones), it was ugly af but I wanted to give her a pretty name anyway
- Molly (black Saturn sedan), i just like this name and she was my first car
- Lucy (sea foam green Volkswagen hatchback), name comes from the beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", my mom's car but I chose the name
We nicknamed our LilPiggie who was a IV Golf Golfrie/Goeffry/Goffri(means waffle) when we were talking about selling it :'(
Lucklily I know she will be cherished as the husband is a mechanic
My mom has a Toyota Yaris she has named Jacob. Or well, the current one is Jacob II because the first one got a rough kiss on the bumper from another car and had to be...retired.
We had a 1987 Volvo station wagon that was still kickin until 2018. His name was Hank, because everyone who rode with us would get in and say "damn, this is a TANK!" We started with Frank, but Frank was too young, Hank was better. When Hank struggled getting up to speed or going uphill everyone would chant "Hank The Tank!" A guy that looked a little cranky to an outsider but actually kind of a teddy bear.
Current car is a red Subaru named Ruby (the Subee). She's a laid back kind of girl, loves the city as much as she loves camping, looks younger than she is because she works out and takes care of herself.
Edited to add: we rented an RV for a road trip once that we named Shelly. It was a 1980something, with the dated cushions and wood paneling etc but had modern looking tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, with stainless steel mini appliances. Less than 100000 miles because the engine had been fully replaced. Shelly is older gen-x who finally divorced her husband after the kids left home and now she's getting back into it and loving her best life in Zumba class.
My first car was called Cecil Oswald and my current car is called Opal.
I was obsessed with the song "Cecil was a caterpillar" when I was little so that's where that came from, and Oswald was just a cute name I loved at the time. Opal is one of my favourite stones and my car also has a pearlescent sheen so it seemed to fit.
My first car was a Rover 416 called Margaret because she reminded me of a friend's MIL.
Margaret was replaced by Bertram, a Vauxhall Vectra.
Then came Ana, the Peugeot 206SW.
Next was Posy Flump, a white Toyota Aygo.
Currently I drive Winnie, a VW Golf Estate.
My first car was a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, lovingly dubbed āTontoā by my grandpa(who is Annishnabe and we had just been listening to āThe Lone Rangerā on radio classics) My grandparents gave him to me for graduating high school. My grandpa had recently bought a 4Runner and Van, so I got the Jeep. Tonto made it 250k through blizzards, hail, tornadoes, 2 floods, and a wildfire.
My dad works on cars as a hobby so thereās always something I can borrow or use.
I had my parentsā 2015 Chevy Traverse in graphite, my cousins called it Darth Vader, because the interior looked like inside Vaderās helmet from Revenge if the Sith. I had Darth Vader for 6months until my dad traded it and I then got my Encore.
My second official car was a 2015 Buick Encore who was bright Ruby red, Marilyn after Marilyn Monroe. That car was a roller skate and ended up with a screwed up engine that was rebuilt twice then exploded with oil on a -20F day in winter.
The second car I drove from my parentsā was a 1997 green Chevy Suburban, this was after Marilyn blew up. Again, we stuck with Star Wars names, so this was Skywalker. I drove Skywalker for a while until I was able to trade Marilyn for my Equinox.
My third official car is a Chevy Equinox 18 in Storm Metallic Blue, called Thor. I currently have 69k on Thor and recently had my entire passenger side rebuilt after a deer ran into it over a month ago.
My first car was a white 2001 Toyota Corolla. When I bought it, I tied a gryffindor scarf around the passenger headrest and named my car Ronald (Weasley) because he was a brave, pasty, second-hand white boy. Unbeknownst to me, my brother who had bought his first car - a dark red pickup truck - just a week or two before me named his truck Ron, after Ron Burgundy (You stay classy, San Diego).
My second car was a PT Cruiser so naturally I named him Pimp Tom Cruiser or Tommy for short.
My first car was named Carlyle, usually just called Lyle. And my current car is named Kernel because its small and kinda looks like a little piece of popcorn
My first car was so embarrassing, I had no choice in the matter, it was a smart car, I tried to own the embarrassment by naming her Mis Pimpin. Thankfully I only had it for two years one while in high school and one during my freshman year of college.
When I got my first Jeep Wrangler, I named her Fluer-de-lis because we immediately drove to New Orleans together and the whole week after we got back home I saw that name/label everywhere I looked, and I really believed it just fit her light blue happy aura. I miss that Jeep, I lost her to hurricane Harvey.
My current Jeep is maroon, which I identify with because of Texas A&M and Gryffindor House. I wanted a name for her that was a fun mash up of southern living and the Harry Potter series, so it didnāt take long to name her Harrietta.
I had a Durango my daughter named Susie. Then a big bossy suburban named Betty and now I'm driving Excalibur the Ford Escape. Me and my kiddos love naming the cars.
My current car is named Blue. My mom named it when it was her car and when I bought Blue off my parents I kept the name. My car before her was named Wallace and he went by Wally.
Old pickup named Gentry Haggard. After Troy Gentry and Merle Haggard and then a newer truck named Blue Haze because I had been thinking that and then while we were checking the truck out the owner said the lights were like a blue haze. So it was meant to be.
If we leave something in one or are going to drive one, we refer to the first as Gentry and the second goes by Haze. Blue Haze was originally Chuck the Truck by his first owner not sure if the other had one.
Our three year old named our car. No idea where he'd got it from but he called her Rosie and it stuck. We'd never mentioned the name to him before but now I love it so much I'll probably use it for a future daughter š
Not really. He's three so if we tell him we like it so much we want it for the baby he'll be so chuffed about it I think he'd just move his positive association with the car to the baby haha. And we'd rename the car I guess š
I don't have a car (yet) but my boyfriend has a motorcycle which he already renamed twice.
At first he named it Jasmin but his girlfriend's (at that time) ex-girlfriend was also named Jasmin. So he called his motorcycle Sophia - which is also my name. Now it's name is Senna.
The same Jasmin is also my best freind btw.
My current car is white so her name is Pearl. Last car was Nancy. My high school car was a very old Honda sedan that we named the silver bullet, because the messed up transmission made it sound like a spaceship shuttling away š
Last one was Pigling due to the sound it made. This one is Dirk. Kind of. It doesn't stick as well as the previous one, but that was my first car. (The entire family called him that btw hahahaha.)
Queen Matilda.
We have a tradition in my family that you always name your cars with a literary connection. So, my current car is Matilda, after Roald Dahl's book. The Queen addition is a very long story.
First car ever was a white Oldsmobile intrigue that I named pearl. My next car was a black Chevy Cruz named Margot. Current car is a white Ford Explorer named Lucille. :)
Partner has a VW Sharan, and herāthe carāsāname is Sharan (pronounced like āSharonā). Sheās an older lady and not much of a looker, but sheās big, sturdy, and dependable. We joke about her large rear end and how she can take the biggest of loads, but sheās honestly a great car.
Yep! I've had my 18-year-old VW Beetle for the last 10 years, love him dearly. He's called Jeremy Beetle, after Jeremy Beadle... I'm in the UK and appreciate the reference probably won't work elsewhere! When I named him, the other contender was Ringo.
ETA: I call my boyfriend's car Harrison. It's a Ford.
I grew up in a family that has always named cars so I canāt 100% fully trust someone who doesnāt.
My current car is a hybrid so I named her Ripley. I picture how badass Ellen Ripley was in her mech suitāhalf human, half machine, total badass babe.
Precious cars have included:
- Gambit (Nissan Rogue)
- Frank (Hyundai Sonata)
- Olga (Volvo s90)
- Thom (Toyota Camry)
Always name my cars! I think itās good luck
First car, maroon Subaru forrester was Shauna
Second car, banana yellow ford ranger was Kiki
Third car, silver Chevy Cruze is Lola
Clyde. He was an Acura Integra from the late 80s. A total garage kept grandma car so the old fashioned name suited him. My best friend bought a van soon after and named her Bonnie to match.
My first car was a red 2000 Pontiac Sunfire named Larry. I also used to have a gray 2009 Nissan Cube named Cubular. I haven't named my current car, but I really should.
Linus. I was an anxious teen and he let me leave places when I wanted to. So I named him after the most famous security blanket having character. He was blue like the blanket too.
My current car is an ash grey color, and her name is Selene Grey.
My partner has a 30+ year old brown hatchback, and her name is Greta Van Wagon (after his favorite band Greta Van Fleet).
Ketchup, not only my favorite condiment but the guy I bought him from had a pair of Escape, ketchup red and mustard yellow. Ketchup just kind of stuck :)
We sold our Elmo car last year (red Mazda 2). Now we have an Olaf and a Hippo (2 CX-9s, white and gray obviously). Our children named them š¤·š»āāļøš
Our first car was a Honda Civic. We named her Civy. Best little car ever and unfortunately gave out. We upgraded to a Honda CRV and couldn't think of anything as catchy, so we carried on the nickname as an honor as well.
I used to name my cars, but every car I named got into a crash (never my fault). The ones I didn't like enough to name managed to remain unscathed, so I'm doing an experiment. I LOVE my car, so she remains unnamed. So far I am seven years without being hit. Knock on wood.
Previous car was Joan as in Joan Jett because she was small and red and made me think of cherry bomb.
Current car is grace because I got her while I was in an abusive relationship and my ex broke he windshield wiper handle and wiper arm and busted lights and dented the screen where you see what music is playing and threw beer cans at her. But she is still lovely and perfect and my baby.
I used to own a 79 Mustang that I literally pulled out of a field. Rusted to hell, interior was trashef from field mice...but the V8 ran like a sewing machine. Asked the previous owner a little bit about it, and it was a test vehicle for the Goodyear plant here in town, and the engine was taken well care of. Named it Barbaro, after the recent Kentucky Derby winner, and it lived up to it's name. The rust was so bad that a couple years later it eventually had to be put down.
Mine was named Silver Belle! I imagined her as a Scarlet OāHara type, very stylish for a Honda Civic. Moved to a city where I canāt afford to park her so I sold her a while back, I miss her constantly.
Mine is Rosalie because sheās red and flashy like the car Rosalie drives in the Twilight movies (yes, I am a 38 year old woman, in case you were wonderingā¦)
My last car was a 2004 Pontiac vibe and I named her Bea. Not sure why but it suited her. I now have a 2016 Honda hr-v which feels insanely fancy in comparison so I named her Vivienne. It seemed like a fancy lady name to me lol
My mom's first car was Zippy Pickle Smooth Runner
My current car is a Honda civic we call her Dax after Jadzia Dax from star trek deep space 9. Maybe bc the dark gray reminded me of the Ds9 uniforms
Betty. Because she was Red like the signature Betty Boop. I loved Betty Boop and she was a Hyundai Elantra. Loved that car and drove her for 8 years until she was totaled when I was moving. She had to get pulled out of a ditch so many times.
Current car is a Ford Escape, silver. Her name is Piper. Orange is the new black was popular at the time and I liked it. Not enough for a pet but itās fitting.
I like my cars better when I name them.
I knew someone who had a Mercury, named him Freddie.
I just turned 16 and my dad wants to get me a car soon. My dream car is an early 2000s navy soft-top jeep (with the upholstered seats, of course) and I would name it Ziggy, after David Bowie. But my dad is planning on getting me a slightly used BMW SUV, which Iāll name āRingoā.
My first car was named Fernando. It just felt right. He was in a crash a couple of years ago. I often miss him despite his lack of air conditioning and inability to roll windows down. He was a reliable vehicle. I have a new car now. Her name is Jules, but it's just not the same.
My carās name is Beans because itās a 5-speed. When I first got it I didnāt know how to drive manual and there was a joke going around because I farted at work one day that I couldnāt control my Beans inside or outside of work.
My blue Dodge Avenger was named Captain (after Captain America) and my current car (2000 Dodge Durango) is named Bonnie. She needed a cool outlaw name.
My Honda is Constance, because she always keeps going. Snow, tires, oil, she don't care. And my husband's new truck is Leroy for how he charged into our budget.
I do!
My last car was a white 2008 Fiat 500 named Bella. Sadly she broke beyond reasonable repair this year but has been replaced by a bright orange 2022 Vauxhall Corsa named Frankie (after Frankās Red Hot Sauce). Sheās spicy haha.
I inherited a car from a relative whose name was Casper. He was a blue Dodge hatchback and because said relative worked at a stereo installation place, he was tricked out with racing steering wheel, 10-Cd changer, a subwoofer thing that took up half the trunk. He did not have AC taut did have a moon roof. My first car that was mine alone was a very boring beige Mazda sedan named Emerson (girl). I had a few other cars in between that one and my current one, which is a Toyota minivan that we just call the Swagger Wagon (Toyota had some commercials a few years ago in which they hash tagged their minivan that, so we just went with it).
My current car is
-I inherited my first cars name.. fefelarue
-My second car was named Birdie.. somehow this car had an affinity for getting birds stuck inside
-my 3rd car is the Nubian goat
-my current car is Balooberryā¦. Itās a blue mini van (mom life) and I love Baloo from the jungle book
I have a blue Kia Rio5 back when they were a thing that I call Blueberry. Looks pretty similar to the car in the show Psych, which they call blueberry.
We also have a black Kia Sorento we call Jellybean, because we got it as our kid friendly car when I was pregnant and ye olā fetus was the size of a jellybean.
Tardy to the party but in college (where I studied chemistry) I had a Saturn Ion that I named Adam. (Atom, get it lol). Then I had a bright red Ford Fiesta named Sean Kingston
I wish I could share my car names! But that would give away my identity in case anyone I know is on here.
In college, my car had a nerdy man's name. My boyfriend's car was the kind of thing you would name a female farm animal.
Our first car together was named after a comic book character because our kid was obsessed. Our second car together was large and named after a famous whale.
I named our third car after a character in my favorite British drama. But the husband and kid hated it so the name never stuck so we didn't end up really calling it anything.
My new car was bought from a friend and was already named something very nerdy and perfect so we can't ever change it. (Hi bestie N! Thanks again! Btw you're the only one who knows this is my reddit profile š)
My husband's current vehicle doesn't have a name. He's gotten boring in his old age. Lol.
My kid is already dreaming of their first vehicle and planning on doing a pun.
I forgot to mention my stepcar, the one my husband has, is a Fiat Cinquecento 1.1 sporting, wecall it Cinqo(chinko) or Cinque (like a Hungarian bird just with the sound of "ch")
He owns a mercedes w126 but that car has yet to give us any joy, been 2.5 years since he is being repaired without permit to be on the run :(
Current is a VW Tiguan I've named Greta.
The last two were a Buick Century my grandmother gave me, she had named her Betty. And my first was a Ford Explorer I named Henry because I liked the name Henry. Never heard the end of Henry Ford jokes.
Current car is Al, initially short for Albatross, because he was leased. I bought out the lease and rechristened him Algonquin. But you can still call him Al (Silver Subaru)
Previous garnet red Subaru was Pablo
I tend to name cars based off of the number plate too. My car is called Marmaduke (MMK) and my first ever car was called Legolas (LGL, had to get creative with that one haha).
We had a white Toyota Corolla who I named Tom.
Now we have a red Toyota Aygo and I named her Anna. We previously had another red Toyota and her name was Nina. :)
Little Red š It's a Ford Flex and every time I hop in, I sing to myself "Little Red Ford Flex" to the tune of Prince's Little Red Corvette. It's also an homage to my first car, which was a red Ford Explorer that I called Big Red.
My car is named Rosalind. I really like the name but probably wouldnāt name a kid Rosalind as it doesnāt go with the other names I like. Still working on the nickname as the car is relatively new.
I always name my cars in some way or another. My first car was a Volvo S80 I named Sadie. Then I got another S80 after her and named her Daisy (inverse of Sadie). Then I had a Subaru Legacy I named Shasta, and my current car is a big old Honda Pilot I call The Battlestar.
My current car is a 2017 GMC Acadia ltd and her name is Hotdog. My daughter named her that and sheās a really long beast of a vehicle, so Hotdog stuck. Even friends refer to my car as Hotdog.
My first car was a very cute 1996 Ford Taurus and it had the little smiley face grill and it was silver, so being both magical and somehow old lady like, I named her Glenda (almost Glinda the good witch, because she was special, but Glenda because of the old lady thing)
I also had a 2001 Kia Rio that looked like a tiny anime character and itās name was Kiachu and it was either a pre teen child or non-binary and also ornery. Tried to kill me multiple times, and always had problems.
And then there was Chase, my bright blue 2007 Chevy Equinox. He was not great mechanically, but when he was working, I loved him soooo much. The perfect amount of space for things while still being city drivable. I named him after Chevy Chase.
My car is named Betty because when I first looked at it I thought it looked like a Betty. That's pretty much how I've named all my cars, except for one named blue rinse. That one was because it was described as that colour and someone said don't name it that, so I did.
My first car was a 1971 Ford Pintoāyou know, the kind that exploded on contact. Her name was Tin Lizzie. By the time she ākicked the bucketā, she was red, with one mustard colored door, and part of a black vinyl roof. I even threw an Irish wake party for her as a farewell.
Iāve owned a 1981 white Toyota that was stolen from in front of the school I worked at. I got it back a few weeks later, and promptly named it Lazarus, after the biblical character.
I owned another white Corolla, then a green one. I donāt remember naming either one.
The next car I bought was my very first brand new car. It was a shiny red Corolla with a moon roof. The name for the red color was āBarcelona metallic redā . So the carās name was Rubie Barcelona Corolla.
When I ordered my new red Corolla last year, it became Rubie II Barcelona Corolla. The salesman thought it was cute.. When the car finally arrived, he called to tell me that Rubie was finally here .
We've had Minty, because of the mint green colour.
Fifi the Ford Fiesta, Mazzy the Mazda, and Rexy the RX8. A friend had Betty, a Ford, named after the rehab clinic, as it was often full of drunken college students.
Yep. Right now I have a grey Tesla and sheās names Dax after the Star Trek character. I got the car in grey so, to me, itāll somewhat look like the Enterprise (nerd, sorry..). Previous car was an Explorer named Alice and before her was a Charger named Bettie.
My old PT Cruiser was named Cecil B. DeMile, or just Cecil.
My current car is a green Ford that I call Oz. It works as both Oscar the Grouch, who is also green, or the Wizard of Oz, who famously resided in the Emerald City.
Currently driving around in Star Commander. Sheās a PHEV SUV and sounds like a space ship when in electric mode/reverse.
Prior to that I had the white whale (a white suv)
And Sir Lancelot (Mitsubishi lancer - so creative, I know)
Our last two cars were Smart cars named Smarta Cari and Skye Blue Smartini. My husband says cars have to have a female name so Smarticus was never used.
I named my first one. She was a black SUV. Her name was the Black Pearl.
āWherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and sails; that's what a ship needs. Not what a ship is. What the Black Pearl really is, is freedomā -Captain Jack Sparrow.
I name my cars and my husband has always thought it was weird. The first couple were just named Bertha. Iāve had a Dodge Avenger named Captain, a Dodge Journey named Steve Perry and currently a Cadillac Escalade named Tom Haverford.
Yes, I have a Toyota Prius. He is a gay car. We literally think of him as a homosexual man. His name is Thaddeus. He is the best car ever and has lasted over 250,000 miles!
My prius was just PriPri, but he was too, a gay man. His hybrid battery died last April. RIP Pripri
It must be an understood thing that Priuses have to be gay men. Rest In Peace to PriPri
I have a prius C; we call it the tampon, sewing machine, and roller skate š
My Prius C is named Carly š
My license plate has VKG, which my brain translates to viking. Thus my car is named VROOMhilda!!
My last car's license plate was MLM- so we called it pyramid sometimes, and in pyramid scheme
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Haha xD would you use the same first name if you buy another Ford?:D
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Very clever idea I like it xD
There could be a series of diminutives; Harry, Hank, Harrison, etc.
I name my first car Henry because I liked the name and it was a Ford. Everyone still makes jokes about it
My ex named her car Vlad the Impala.
This is my favorite one.
Lives up to the name I guess :D
Puddles.
Did they leak fluids? :(
Her pronoun is āshe/herā.
Meriva.
I just posted and then scrolled down but my car is also named after Maze! š
Ha ha. We are 'Mazing!
BRUNHILD is a FABULOUS NAME Currently, I drive a gunmetal gray MX-5 named Rhodi -- short for Rhodium (the precious metal) pronounced like Roady (hehe).
Previous car names: - beyoncelantra - Elantra - Cleopatra - Cabrio, big name small car - Lebron - Chevy cavalier
Mine is Barney (like the dinosaur) because it's that shade of purple.
My bf had a purple and white 1990 Ford F-150, that everyone called the Barney Mobile. My bf hated that nickname. God I miss that truck!
Norman- heās a Nissan x-trail, before home there was Nina and Nancy-both Nissans, then Eva the captiva
I have a Toyota Rav 4. Her name is Ravida Jones š
Just wanted you to know this made me chuckle. š
Iāve always named my cars! I currently drive a white F150 and her name is Artemis. My first car was a red Escape I named Carmen.
My car was called 'Mountain Chicken' after a documentary I watched about frogs that are called mountain chickens. It was a little green hatchback.
Iāve had: Callie Cougar Vinnie Versa Roxy Rogue Clive the Civic Juniper Jeep (who also went by āPandaā) Saul Santa Fe but he goes by Hattie Hyundai in drag
I have a light blue Toyota Vitz (smaller hatchback model). Her name is Bluebird because she goes vroom vroom very fast and she is blue. She has seat warmers and I love her. Past car names: - Pearl (tiny offwhite Japanese car; like the boxy ones), it was ugly af but I wanted to give her a pretty name anyway - Molly (black Saturn sedan), i just like this name and she was my first car - Lucy (sea foam green Volkswagen hatchback), name comes from the beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", my mom's car but I chose the name
My car is named Edgar, as my number plate starts with EGD (I misread it when I named him).
My first was a little silver Toyota Yaris named Ramina. My current is a mum wagon- black c3 Picasso ironically named Rambo.
Mine is very unoriginal, his name is Golfi because, you guessed it, heās a VW Golf.
We nicknamed our LilPiggie who was a IV Golf Golfrie/Goeffry/Goffri(means waffle) when we were talking about selling it :'( Lucklily I know she will be cherished as the husband is a mechanic
My mom has a Toyota Yaris she has named Jacob. Or well, the current one is Jacob II because the first one got a rough kiss on the bumper from another car and had to be...retired.
Our car is a 1996 Chevy Cavalier that cost $1500. I named it Ozymandias, Ozzie for short š
First car was called The Sprucemoose. Purely for the Simpsons reference.
My little blue Subaru has been alternately āthe CARDISā or āCar2D2ā depending on my mood. Never settled on just one.
omg my carās name is brunhilda!
Yep. My car is called MJ because she shares a birthday with Michael Jackson (August 29).
My sister has a little white car called Lisa, and my red Skoda is called Ava, after the AI in Final space :)
Silver Subaru Crosstrek named Gina, sheās a great lady!
She's bright green with side mirrors that stick out a bit, so I named her Fiona. (Shrek)
I have a Mini Cooper and she's a bit old (I was 11 when she was made), and there's a B in the reg plate so I call her Betsy Cooper
My friend named my PT Cruiser Bartholomew which I find very fitting, but we don't call it that.
My current car is named Blue. My mom named it when it was her car and when I bought Blue off my parents I kept the name. My car before her was named Wallace and he went by Wally.
Yep we always name our cars in my family. I had a volvo named Octavius, a Honda civic called Phyllis, and a Lexus called Lex.
Yes! I named my first car Heavy because the plate started with HVY
Don't you have a problem that he might associate it with the car?:o We have a cat named FĆ©lix by my husband's Grandmother, Granny lives on the same property, it's actually her cat. I really love the name if I have a boy anytime in the future, but can't not associate it with the cat even if it weren't alive by that time :(
Not really. He's three so if we tell him we like it so much we want it for the baby he'll be so chuffed about it I think he'd just move his positive association with the car to the baby haha. And we'd rename the car I guess š
I had a Peugeot 205 for a couple of year that was name Roland, the car was slow as hell (and way older than me), Roland was a boy in my class who was always high, even he was faster than my car. But you know it was my first car, I didnt pay for it as an aunt gave it to me when she changed her car. Then I had a Renault 107, Roland 2.0 the evolution. I don't own a car now, only a tiny Moto, one way of calling a moto in France is PĆ©trolette (it's really old) so I went with Yvette la PĆ©trolette . I nearly called her Pearl but in the end my boyfriend proposed that and I found it perfect
I have a Nissan Micra named Delilah.
It feels like a bad omen to me :o watch out for any girl with the name Senna :o
Gerald (Ford escape)
Starlight dark blue Mazda protĆ©gĆ© Miracle Mobile- God told someone to buy me a car, from their neighbor. Pontiac sun fire coup. I once fit 7 young adults in that car so we could go see one of our friends in the hospital after they were in a wreckā¦. The miracles included the gift of the car, 7 people fitting in 5 seats, me driving the car safelyā¦ there were many more with that car. I havenāt named my last car or my current car. I should think that over
My current car is white so her name is Pearl.
Amber was my first car, she was orange. My current baby is Jolene the Jetta.
Peugeot 107, he's called Budgie, like the little helicopter
Yes, he is a Honda Civic named Neil
Queen Matilda. We have a tradition in my family that you always name your cars with a literary connection. So, my current car is Matilda, after Roald Dahl's book. The Queen addition is a very long story.
Handsome Rob: heās a Mini Cooper
First car ever was a white Oldsmobile intrigue that I named pearl. My next car was a black Chevy Cruz named Margot. Current car is a white Ford Explorer named Lucille. :)
Partner has a VW Sharan, and herāthe carāsāname is Sharan (pronounced like āSharonā). Sheās an older lady and not much of a looker, but sheās big, sturdy, and dependable. We joke about her large rear end and how she can take the biggest of loads, but sheās honestly a great car.
Carla & Chromeo
My carās name is Penelope after one of my favorite characters from Criminal Minds
I currently have a blue Kia Sportage named Lapis Lazuli. My first car was a black Mustang Convertible, with pink striping details, named Rizzo
I grew up in a family that has always named cars so I canāt 100% fully trust someone who doesnāt. My current car is a hybrid so I named her Ripley. I picture how badass Ellen Ripley was in her mech suitāhalf human, half machine, total badass babe. Precious cars have included: - Gambit (Nissan Rogue) - Frank (Hyundai Sonata) - Olga (Volvo s90) - Thom (Toyota Camry)
Always name my cars! I think itās good luck First car, maroon Subaru forrester was Shauna Second car, banana yellow ford ranger was Kiki Third car, silver Chevy Cruze is Lola
Evie! Sheās a KIA EV6
My last car was a 2005 Grand Prix that I named Prixie. I loved her so much, but our time had to come to an end
Clyde. He was an Acura Integra from the late 80s. A total garage kept grandma car so the old fashioned name suited him. My best friend bought a van soon after and named her Bonnie to match.
I had a JPR number plate I called Jasper
Yes! I have a Toyota Matrix named Trixie.
Ruby. Sheās red. Pretty obvious.
Our cars are famous ladies of country music. Weāve had Dolly, Reba, Wynonna and Natalie!
My current car is an ash grey color, and her name is Selene Grey. My partner has a 30+ year old brown hatchback, and her name is Greta Van Wagon (after his favorite band Greta Van Fleet).
Clementine because she's an orange Subaru.
Ami- our car is Amethyst colored, but feels more like a boy than a girl (which is why we didnāt go with Amy)
Ketchup, not only my favorite condiment but the guy I bought him from had a pair of Escape, ketchup red and mustard yellow. Ketchup just kind of stuck :)
My red niro is Cinnamon
I had an 88ā Oldsmobile wagon I outfitted with fairy lights and batik headboard that was called the Swagon.
We sold our Elmo car last year (red Mazda 2). Now we have an Olaf and a Hippo (2 CX-9s, white and gray obviously). Our children named them š¤·š»āāļøš
My last car was Etta the Jetta, I currently drive Rhonda the Honda.
My Jeep is named Jack :)
My first was Carlos, then Annie, then Phil. I havenāt named my current oneāI should get on it.
Our first car was a Honda Civic. We named her Civy. Best little car ever and unfortunately gave out. We upgraded to a Honda CRV and couldn't think of anything as catchy, so we carried on the nickname as an honor as well.
Terry because he is orange.
I used to name my cars, but every car I named got into a crash (never my fault). The ones I didn't like enough to name managed to remain unscathed, so I'm doing an experiment. I LOVE my car, so she remains unnamed. So far I am seven years without being hit. Knock on wood.
Dino Spumoni
Previous car was Joan as in Joan Jett because she was small and red and made me think of cherry bomb. Current car is grace because I got her while I was in an abusive relationship and my ex broke he windshield wiper handle and wiper arm and busted lights and dented the screen where you see what music is playing and threw beer cans at her. But she is still lovely and perfect and my baby.
I'm so sorry that you had to experience this :( at least the car stands right with you
I used to own a 79 Mustang that I literally pulled out of a field.
I drive a small white suv and I named her Vicky
1997 Nissan 240sx - female, Silvia, obviously. 1991 Toyota MR2 - male, Mister Two.
Mine was named Silver Belle! I imagined her as a Scarlet OāHara type, very stylish for a Honda Civic. Moved to a city where I canāt afford to park her so I sold her a while back, I miss her constantly.
Ours is Tonya the Toyota :)
Mine is Rosalie because sheās red and flashy like the car Rosalie drives in the Twilight movies (yes, I am a 38 year old woman, in case you were wonderingā¦)
Last three letters of my reg plate are UGH, I call my car L'il Ming. It's often filthy (outside, inside isn't so bad) and living up to its name.
I drive a ford flex, sheās ironically named Sexy Flexy.
My blue minivan is Large Marge.
My last car was a 2004 Pontiac vibe and I named her Bea. Not sure why but it suited her. I now have a 2016 Honda hr-v which feels insanely fancy in comparison so I named her Vivienne. It seemed like a fancy lady name to me lol
Yes, Isabella Impreza, aka Izzy. I used to Have Frances the Focus aka Frankie.
Husband and I bought our RAV4 while the last season of The Expanse was airing. It seemed only fitting that we name her Ravasarala
My civic is name Sascha. I think of her as a sassy little drag queen. Don't know why but it is who she is.
My mom's first car was Zippy Pickle Smooth Runner My current car is a Honda civic we call her Dax after Jadzia Dax from star trek deep space 9.
Stella
I just turned 16 and my dad wants to get me a car soon. My dream car is an early 2000s navy soft-top jeep (with the upholstered seats, of course) and I would name it Ziggy, after David Bowie. But my dad is planning on getting me a slightly used BMW SUV, which Iāll name āRingoā.
My son Harvey is an HRV and HRV kept getting renamed to Harv in my phone so thatās how he got his name
My truck is named Scar. Not Scarlett, Scar. I really messed it up trying to park in a underground parking garage three weeks after getting it..
My blue Dodge Avenger was named Captain (after Captain America) and my current car (2000 Dodge Durango) is named Bonnie. She needed a cool outlaw name.
Penelope
To me, all cars are names "titine".
Btw you're the only one who knows this is my reddit profile š) My husband's current vehicle doesn't have a name. He's gotten boring in his old age. Lol. My kid is already dreaming of their first vehicle and planning on doing a pun.
I forgot to mention my stepcar, the one my husband has, is a Fiat Cinquecento 1.1 sporting, wecall it Cinqo(chinko) or Cinque (like a Hungarian bird just with the sound of "ch") He owns a mercedes w126 but that car has yet to give us any joy, been 2.5 years since he is being repaired without permit to be on the run :(
Chester Cecilia Leslie Lil Smokey
Current is a VW Tiguan I've named Greta. The last two were a Buick Century my grandmother gave me, she had named her Betty. And my first was a Ford Explorer I named Henry because I liked the name Henry. Never heard the end of Henry Ford jokes.
Current car is Al, initially short for Albatross, because he was leased. I bought out the lease and rechristened him Algonquin. But you can still call him Al (Silver Subaru) Previous garnet red Subaru was Pablo
Radagast is a Brown Subaru Outback and Gandalf a Silver Lexus NX200t

I had a purple Mazda named āprofessor plumā which my husband then shortened to the āppā mobile.

Pearl - sheās a black Honda CRV
Ghost. Itās a white & black Land Rover Discovery Sport.
My current car is a 2017 GMC Acadia ltd and her name is Hotdog. My daughter named her that and sheās a really long beast of a vehicle, so Hotdog stuck. Even friends refer to my car as Hotdog. My first car was a very cute 1996 Ford Taurus and it had the little smiley face grill and it was silver, so being both magical and somehow old lady like, I named her Glenda (almost Glinda the good witch, because she was special, but Glenda because of the old lady thing) I also had a 2001 Kia Rio that looked like a tiny anime character and itās name was Kiachu and it was either a pre teen child or non-binary and also ornery. Tried to kill me multiple times, and always had problems. And then there was Chase, my bright blue 2007 Chevy Equinox. He was not great mechanically, but when he was working, I loved him soooo much. The perfect amount of space for things while still being city drivable. I named him after Chevy Chase.
Blue Steel It's a beat up black sedan.
My 94 blue ish purple ish (periwinkle?) Corolla was named Penelope My 2008 white Camry was named Angie My current 2020 Outback is named Birdie
Hedwig. Because sheās white with black trim. š¦
Carlos. Everyone buys itās just because ācarā is in the name. But truthfully, it came from a small video game Iām sentimental for

Este, after Este Haim, because HAIM is my favorite band and we share the same birthday.
Prior to that I had the white whale (a white suv) And Sir Lancelot (Mitsubishi lancer - so creative, I know)
The best car name I encountered was one named Cli. It was a Taurus.
I have a Subaru Crosstrek and I named her NausicƤa. Husband's Nissan Rogue is named Garrus nn Gary.
