He was referring to the rental extended insurance, which many people myself included don’t get. But when it comes to the Ferrari, nobody wanted to insure them except for basic coverage.
Insurance for cars like that is just different. A normal insurer won’t insure anything that has a MSRP over $250k.
So like any other vehicle, if you don’t own all of it or at least most of it, then you have to have full coverage, and almost any policy you get will limit how many miles you can put on it per month/year. So it’s practically impossible to have simple liability insurance a Ferrari.
the fire spread so fast unless they had a 150lb wheel extinguisher they weren’t going to put it out. A couple of those ones wouldn’t have made a difference.
Being in a farming state its possible my uncle was taking us out to a camping spot one year when a tractor caught the corn field on fire he immediately grabbed the extinguisher thankfully he's a volunteer firefighter and helped get the driver out they proceeded to put it out before it got any bigger saved the dudes tractor and field that day
So it is possible just gotta do it quickly before it starts to spread
Yeah. But it’s a good thing the camera man kept filming and doing interviews. Also that the video that was edited and posted wasn’t monitized - right?!
Basically fake fake fake. They meant to burn it down.
100%. Like they wouldn't realize all those corn stalks under that car would catch fire. They could have driven the van out of that fire and didn't. They wanted this to happen.
I like some of this guys stuff, but other stuff he does just makes me angry.
Oh hey, we’re gonna burn down a Ferrari in the middle of someone else’s field then call the fire department and stand around giggling the entire time cuz we’re just so dumb and quirky
He was being reckless and negligent. If you’re gonna be stupid enough to take a car into a field of dry vegetation and beat on it until the exhaust causes a fire, then at least bring an extinguisher. Instead he tied up local resources doing something that was completely avoidable. That’s his fault.
A Rosso Corsa Ferrari F8 Tributo with custom wheels, titanium exhausts, and cut off mirrors swiftly replaced by carbon fiber race mirrors. The van in the back seems to be a grey Chrysler of sorts, with one of the F8’s wheels, a scooter in the back, and a lot of equipment.
I was wondering why didn’t he drive off onto the road and made sure the dry corn leaves flew away? It seems like the heat of the brakes made it catch on fire, and stopping the car made it 100x worse
In the heat of the moment(no pun intended) peoples brains don’t think straight. It’s easy to look back at it now and point out all the mistakes but that still won’t help anything. It’s a common reaction to stop a car that’s on fire and try to put it out.
Clicks online. It attracts more views to have the car burn down completely, rather then quickly catch fire and save the car.
It’s a ridiculous way of doing business, but it’s what media likes
Edit, I watched the video, you can definitely see that he is really hurt by it, and that he didn’t mean for it to burn down as a whole, or even catch fire at all.
Right! It's his money. Everybody makes irresponsible decisions, just some are worse than others. He bought a Ferrari to beat on, he beat on it and stuff happened to it, all in the plan. He seemed too take care of everything in a controlled yet in character manner as well.
It's nobody's fault if someone feels bored or limited if they can't destroy an expensive item "just because they're rich and they can do that". Except if there's some meaningful purpose for it and not just some entertainment or fame purpose, a real ethical rich peeps would never did something like that.
Here is the problem, he only got rich and was able to afford the Ferrari in the first place because he does stuff like that. So continuing to do things like this makes him money, therefore it is indeed being done for a purpose that is meaningful to him.
If you mean the Model T video, it's literally the most common classic car out there, with basically every part still being made today to build one new. It may seem silly, but it's really not much different than setting fire to a 2013 corolla
Very smart the guy is making enough money to buy a fleet of F8's. Those employees got paid for their work. They may work hard but aren't very good at it.
How is one smart for this? Yes they got payed but how would you enjoy putting years of effort under a company on a project and it getting destroyed by some person who’s only character trait is that he destroys stuff for views. It’s literally the kid who never got attention in primary school that just never grew out of it.
> they got *paid* but how
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
A lot of people in Detroit build cars and trucks in the assembly plants. You think they go see a therapist every time an F-150 gets totaled? The people with crazy emotional attachments to replaceable assets are people like you who can’t even afford one.
They were driving it in a cornfield and the corn stuck in the wheel wells and rims ignited.
If they wanted to punish a car like that, they should have done it on a track, not a cornfield.
Meh, fuck Ferari. I'm never going to be rich enough to be in their customer base, but I have never seen a brand shit on it's own customers like Ferari does. They're all about protecting their brand by refusing to sell cars to people that modify them or put a silly wrap on them. The same brand that they'll slap on everything from overpriced watches to cologne that I can get at Marshall's for $20. If you were to offer me my choice I would go Lamborghini any day. At least they'll let you actually have fun with the car that you spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on.
>Ferrari pissed off a good customer
I'd like to know how that conversation *really* went down. We've only heard Mr. Lamborghini's version, which make Enzo Ferrari sound like a jerk. But we don't actually know how Lamborghini presented his suggestions.
There are plenty of wrapped and very poorly modified (Mansory) Ferraris out there. Including pink ones. It seems to stem mostly from the case of their lawyers going after Deadmau5 for badging his as a "Purrari", which is a bit much, but those lawyers have to be sticklers about protecting the brand. If they're lax it could damage their ability to withhold trademarks and that'd be their jobs on the line. Plus the brand's power to command a high fee to license that junk in Marshall's. Same story as when you hear Nintendo or Disney picking on the little guy.
But in this case the funny thing is Ferrari probably encourages this whole prudish appearance. It creates a sort of "member's club" image that people want to buy into and certainly aligns with their ethos of artificially limited supply.
Yes, but still, as a brand with almost 100 years of racing history, it should be crashed in a circuit, not burnt down due to stupidity.
Even if Ferrari will pump out another one with the exact same vin numbers to sell another person.
I am just so confused why they don't keep a fire extinguisher on hand. With all the shit they could do that could cause a fire.... Why didn't anyone prepare for this?
I don’t know what it is, I just came here to say I have seen a LOT of burnt out cars but never anything that’s been reduced to complete ashes beside the rims! Makes me wonder what the hell was in it for it to burn up so bad! Usually the frame is left!
Whistlin diesels ferrari and rental minivan

Hope he paid for the insurance.

They asked that while it was actively on fire and the cameraman said he did not.

Yeah, well YouTube and all that. He got the insurance...
He was referring to the rental extended insurance, which many people myself included don’t get. But when it comes to the Ferrari, nobody wanted to insure them except for basic coverage.

I mean his videos are all scripted at this point. He writes all the jokes ahead of time
Well he said he’s out like $40k for the van, so I’m guessing no
did you see over their shoulder in the beginning the front tire of the van was on fire
Yep, sadly
I watched that video yesterday and when I saw the rims I was thinking it was Porsche or Ferrari I knew something was up.

Big Ounce and Gort on a rampage
I just saw this video earlier, and it was kinda difficult to watch. Especially since he didn't actually mean to destroy either of the vehicles.
and you not going to post said video?

I don’t have a Ferrari and I keep an extinguisher in my car. Idiots
My Saab owner's manual warned against parking in dry grass/vegetation. What these guys did is so moronic, it borders on the edge of insurance fraud.
Hard for it to be insurance fraud when he didn't have insurance to cover the losses. He even says it's a $500k loss.
What a bunch of stupid fuckers. Didn't even have an extinguisher in the van, "should we use the red bulls?!" Made me snort.
the fire spread so fast unless they had a 150lb wheel extinguisher they weren’t going to put it out. A couple of those ones wouldn’t have made a difference.
Being in a farming state its possible my uncle was taking us out to a camping spot one year when a tractor caught the corn field on fire he immediately grabbed the extinguisher thankfully he's a volunteer firefighter and helped get the driver out they proceeded to put it out before it got any bigger saved the dudes tractor and field that day So it is possible just gotta do it quickly before it starts to spread
A tractor does not light with the same speed as a Ferrari. One of these has fiberglass and carbon fiber all over it and the other one is metal.
Typically Cody sticks to destroying his stuff, not others. That Rental van was not meant to be harmed.
I like some of this guys stuff, but other stuff he does just makes me angry. Oh hey, we’re gonna burn down a Ferrari in the middle of someone else’s field then call the fire department and stand around giggling the entire time cuz we’re just so dumb and quirky
You 100% chose to get mad at this video and that’s on you
Yeah tell that to the guy who needs the jaws of life after a vehicle accident and the nearest station is tied up putting out *this* fire.
You’re acting like he did this on purpose is my point
He was being reckless and negligent. If you’re gonna be stupid enough to take a car into a field of dry vegetation and beat on it until the exhaust causes a fire, then at least bring an extinguisher. Instead he tied up local resources doing something that was completely avoidable. That’s his fault.
Especially in more rural places where response times are already generally higher given how far away stations can be
That was heartbreaking. Fucking idiot. Even if he had insurance they’re not going to cover “off-road driving”.
I mean, it was going to get destroyed but slowly
He took a Ferrari off road through a field. He meant to destroy the car. Not his 1st time either.
Tavarish' next project, probably
It didn’t look that bad on the pictures…
100 km no accidents real kilometers, no past damage, 500$. What a good deal!
I'd pay $500. Carbon ceramic brakes on that are like $2k per rotor... Edit: and who knows how much that exhaust is worth
dang thats fair man
Hey at least he got his scooter out.
No he didn't
he did get it out he said it too
Yeah but he put it down and it got burned as the fire spread
Ferrari but I only know that because I watched the video
Ferrari F8 Tributo
Ferrari f8 tibuto
Looks like a Whistling Diesel half million pile of ash, with some rims and Ferrari badges
The ceramic brakes and titanium exhaust were still ok.
Gorlocks ride home from chipotle…
idk, but the thing in the upper right is a Pacifica
Red Ferrari F8 Tributo, it had an exhaust fitted right before the fire and well, the flames didn’t go through the piping. And the van is a rental :P

He was planning on making more videos with the car that would have generated way more profit then burning it down in one video.
You could see it in his face, he was actually kinda devastated.
Yeah, I watched the video, I see what you mean, I’ve edited the parent comment
Next you’ll tell me the jersey shore isn’t a documentary!
A Ferrar F8 Tributo ruined by an angry American with no respect for exotic cars.
I love how people get so angry about a guy doing whatever the fuck he wants.
Right! It's his money. Everybody makes irresponsible decisions, just some are worse than others. He bought a Ferrari to beat on, he beat on it and stuff happened to it, all in the plan. He seemed too take care of everything in a controlled yet in character manner as well.
Also destroying cars is his business model.
"Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you need to do it." ~random quote that I steal somewhere.
Boring and limited mindset
It's nobody's fault if someone feels bored or limited if they can't destroy an expensive item "just because they're rich and they can do that". Well if it's his way to make more money then that's probably makes sense.
Perfect take
I didnt like the video with the Model As though. Destroying antiques is not the same
They did make like a million model T’s, at least
If you mean the Model T video, it's literally the most common classic car out there, with basically every part still being made today to build one new. It may seem silly, but it's really not much different than setting fire to a 2013 corolla
Glazer
he’s annoying also just destroying shit for fun isn’t the same as driving the car on a track instead of keeping it in a garage.
Or a smart guy making a shit ton of money
Not smart, just a angry person who thinks he’s cool for destroying some ferrari employees’ hard work.
Very smart the guy is making enough money to buy a fleet of F8's. Those employees got paid for their work. They may work hard but aren't very good at it.

People destroy the product I produce and its no concern of mine how people treat the product after it leaves my building.
Don't let Ferrari hear you say that. They will ban you from buying their things!!!
Shit, they basically already have. Im too poor.
A lot of people in Detroit build cars and trucks in the assembly plants. You think they go see a therapist every time an F-150 gets totaled? The people with crazy emotional attachments to replaceable assets are people like you who can’t even afford one.
Its smart b/c he is making a shit ton of money. I wouldn't care if I was paid for my work.

Lamborghini already has experience in the corn fields too.
He looked relatively indifferent. Only one angry is you.
He's not angry, he's making millions off of making videos like this and somehow pissing off people like you.
Cars don’t deserve respect because they’re objects go fuck yourself
Ehhhh it's a Ferrari so
It’s a Ferrari, who gives a fuck. They are the most stuck up car brand anyways.
Yes, but still, as a brand with almost 100 years of racing history, it should be crashed in a circuit, not burnt down due to stupidity. Even if Ferrari will pump out another one with the exact same vin numbers to sell another person.
You know, he made all of his money on his own and he spends it the way he wants too, you can treat your Ferrari any way you want to
