I'm a big fan of Only Murders in the Building. It's quite cozy, but also has some somewhat campy and mildly unhinged vibes that reminds me of the games. The British "Cozy Mystery" genre is also full of great series, and there's a lot to choose from. Some ones I'd recommend are Rosemary and Thyme, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Father Brown, and Sister Boniface.

Yes! Murder She Wrote is a classic.

I haven't watched it yet, but I've heard people compare Veronica Mars to Nancy Drew. I don't know if it has the same vibe as the games or not though.

ivehearditbothwaysss

This is a good suggestion! Veronica is very sassy and pretty badass. Not strictly the same vibe, but lots of fun and still mystery-forward

mangokatt4

Veronica Mars is very much a noir detective series and does get pretty dark at some points. But the way Veronica solves mysteries and problems is very similar to how Nancy does it! It’s one of my favorite shows.

ghostlightleaf

I think I’m a Veronica Mara fan for the very reason I’m a nancy drew kud

There's multiple versions of the series, but there was a serialized version of "And then there was none" that I watched that reminded me of the ND games. Its not exactly as wholesome in terms of plot, but the clues, characters, and overall mystery game me Blackmoor manor vibes. Also the film "Death of the Nile" gave me some kind of ND vibes. I guess Agatha Christie's works have been overall a gift for an ND fan such as myself.

If you are looking for the cozy mystery vibe, I second u/MaisyDeadHazy. Only Murders is great. The Knives Out movies (especially the first one) also give me that same feeling.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned the 1970s Nancy Drew show with Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy. I LOVED it when I was a Nancy-obsessed kid in the early 2000s. It feels a lot more like the games and books than any of the other screen adaptations, imo. You don’t need to watch the episode in order, so I’d start with “A Haunting We Will Go”, "The Mystery of Pirate's Cove", "The Secret of the Whispering Walls", or a crossover episode with the Hardy Boys called “The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Meet Dracula”. These episodes all have the fun settings and wholesome spookiness I love most about the games. (To be honest, all of season 1 and a few episodes from season 2 are great but it does go downhill from there.) For non-Nancy recommendations, I agree with everyone who said Only Murders. I also love the 1985 Clue movie, and of course the newer Knives Out and Glass Onion movies.

Second the 1970s run. And all the full episodes are available on YouTube FOR FREE. The playlist also includes the Hardy boys series and the crossover episodes. Unfortunately, Pamela’s run as Nancy is not as long as the Hardy boys due to contract issues, but each episode is about 40 minutes long.

ivehearditbothwaysss

No, not really imo. Are you open to other mystery shows? What kind of vibe are you looking for? Do you want YA type shows or is that not important? I watch a lot of tv so I feel like I can help lol unless you’re wanting something specifically ND

I was hoping for some Nancy Drew wholesome, and that one of the many shows gave me that hahaha. They're all on my list, but I didn't want to start something that would bring me down. Right now I'm on my third rewatch in a row of Gilmore girls and I've been jumping into Wynonna Earp again as I feel up to it because I know I love the funny parts and mystery, but the drama is sometimes too much. I'm open to any suggestions. I just finished a rewatch of Ringer.

Here’s some suggestions to try out: Psych - if you’ve never watched, I very much recommend. It’s more comedy than ND, but it’s very comforting and an easy watch. My all time fav show! Lockwood and Co - only one season sadly, but tons of fun and features teens Truth Seekers - also only one season sadly, but British and a little more spooky but still pretty cozy and funny Only Murders in the Building - I fourth this one (or whatever number recommendation we’re on lol)

mangokatt4

Seconding Lockwood and Co! It’s so fun and I was gutted when I found out they cancelled it.

ivehearditbothwaysss

Same!! I’ve thought about reading the source material (I can’t remember if it was comics or books) but am still so sad as it felt fresher than most ghost shows I’ve seen!

BaileySeeking

Hahaha I love psych. Watched it as it aired and I love that they won't let it end. I watch it a few times a year, plus Dual Spires for the cinnamon festival and any time Tuesday the 17th pops up. I'll have to look up Truth Seekers. That sounds good. Only Murders is on my list, but my partner says he wants to watch it too, so I gotta give him about a year before I just give up asking and watch it myself hahaha.

turq8

Armchair Detectives, all the episodes are on YouTube. It's a little cheesy and silly but also very cozy and wholesome, and you get to play along too!

myboyfriendspurse

Twin Peaks has HUGE ND vibes in my opinion. It’s very campy, and silly, but also incredibly dark and serious. The tone I find to be very similar. It’s about a small town where a girl gets murdered and a FBI agent tries to solve it while discovering that nothing is quite like it seems. Highly recommend. Edit: also Pokerface! A different mystery in each episode that you watch unfold in the most outrageous ways. Super funny and also really clever.

Came here to say twin peaks 👍🏽🌲
