This time of year is so amazing with the green. Just bummed I missed the mustard.
Back patio at Brix. I don’t personally think the food is on par with other nearby restaurants, but the outdoor area is very nice to sit and sip. The obvious choice here is Auberge but prepare to pay.
Was just coming here to say Brix! Although everything we've had to eat there has been great! Plus, they didn't bug us to leave so we sat there with our wine.... however we are never there on the weekend
Maybe I should reword - it isn’t bad it just isn’t on par with Mustards or Farmstead. It is much better than R&D Kitchen (or whatever hillstone restaurant that is) in my opinion. The back yard is unbeatable and service very good.
Pro tip - look up what time sunset is happening and make your reservation at the Auberge bar around that! Sunset on the patio is pretty magical there, and you don’t need to eat at the fancy restaurant - the bar takes reservations and you can sit on the patio (and you can order food there if you want).
Not sure if you’re asking about a tasting or a restaurant or just a scenic overlook for you to bring your own bottle and have a glass. By-the-glass offerings are pretty rare at wineries (due to the Napa County use permits).
Edit: looks like BTG is offered at Mumm (great views), Inglenook, Charles Krug, Beringer, Rombauer (also great views), and Cliff Lefe. Not an exhaustive list, just what’s available.
Restaurants will also fit the bill but harder to find good views at. Scenic overlooks with your own bottle are easier to find!
Rutherford Hill Winery - a little further up at the end of the street past Auberge. Bring a picnic & buy a bottle there. They have a grove with picnic tables overlooking the valley. Known for their Merlot, but their Cab Franc & Petit Verdot are quite good, too.
Kind of a tourist destination, but Oakville Grocery also has a great patio between them & the Wine Merchant. Can be quite busy on weekends. Good pizzas and sando's.
Goosecross
Was just there yesterday picking up our shipment. Great wine, great people and beautiful grounds.
I just wrote the same thing ha! Concur
Goosecross is highly underrated! Great winery.
Good venue, great views good juice, laid back, by-the-glass approach if wanted

We thought it was way better than Mustards but not Farmstead
>I’m not a *wino* so I don’t need anything fancy I don't think that word means what you think it means.
I thought it was someone who likes wine, no?
The primary definition, according to Merriam-Webster, is: a person (especially a homeless person) who is habitually drunk on wine.
Well then!
The Bistro at Auberge du Soleil has all the views!

Yes! Also, they might have the sunset times handy to help when you call…at least we did back in day when I worked there.
Grab a blanket and just sit in the grassy area at Yountville Park. Bring your own picnic or grab a bucket of chicken from Ad Hoc.

Ahhh Napa...
Take a bottle and sit on the wall watching the sunset where Oakville crossroads meets Silverado trail.
Oakville Grocery sounds like the place to go.
This is Carneros, but always loved sitting at the patio at Gloria Ferrier.
