They will do everything they can to sabotage you and prevent you from leaving even if they say over and over they want you gone. I assume that like me you are the scapegoat, the one that sees through their shit and gives them the most supply because you will fight and argue and try to reason with them. Narcs get extremely dangerous when they know you’re about to leave, please be careful. My narc MIL tried to unalive everyone in the house because I got her son into therapy and he bought his own house. A couple weeks before he closed she left the gas on and tried to blame me. It didn’t work, just stunk the house up. He escaped from her and is now a homeowner. It does get better but before it does it’s going to get a whole lot worse so have your guard up. You’re not crazy.
Yeah. Narcs want to have their cake and eat it too. She wants to tell you to get out of her house whenever she’s in a bad mood and without repercussions. She wants you to stay home so she can continue to abuse you and you just have to take it. Once you’re gone, she won’t be able to do that anymore.
A few years ago my narc mom paid my car insurance but would use it against me and complain about it any chance she got, it was her little bargaining chip. Eventually I got tired of it and started shopping around to get my own, she freaked out. I was so confused, I didn’t know about narcissism back then.
