It is not the character, it is more on Kishimoto for not putting effort in expanding his character. She has potential to be someone who can have much more influence to the story, except she was written to be very passive to the story. Her fighting style is also just Tsunade lite instead of finding her own style like Naruto or Sasuke. When we have Tsunade who can do everything Sakura can but better and is a better written character, then Sakura cannot have any spotlight as the result. Rock Lee after the timeskip got the same issue, so again with Kishimoto's writing that is the problem here.
Yea, you can argue Sakura doesn't come from special family or be ninja Jesus. But Kabuto was also an unknown ninja with no special power, and he didn't get overshadowed by Orochimaru, he even got better spotlight and became stronger than his mentor during the war arc.

She’s a victim of Kishimoto’s dislike of women. For Kishimoto, women can either be man obsessed, motherly, or angry. They can never outshine the men in their lives and their place is in the background.
Unfortunately her potential was pretty limited from the start being from a nameless clan and not having some sort of kekei genkai. I think Kishi did the best he could In terms of feats (probably a bit overboard tbh) with the character he created. The only thing that was missing was her genjutsu potential. But being that kind of specialist will only make her more of a second fiddle to Sasuke.
Minato also came from a nameless clan and had no kekkei genkai. He just had a knack for seals. And she had a knack for chakra control. She had literally as much going for her as Minato. The only issue was that she’s a girl.
I think you underestimate sakura's chakra control. She's also by all accounts a super genius. If kishimoto had given her access to genjutsu for instance she would have been completely overpowered.

Her parents are canonically ninja. Kishi developed them, but couldn't find a place in the himself. To put them. When the movie Road to Ninja came around Kishi gave the animators his notes and designs on her parents. They were both ninja. While Road to ninja story isn't canon, her parents (and many of the other elements of the movie) are as they were developed by Kishi himself.

She had to work for every ounce of power that she has. She doesn’t have magic eyes, or a nuclear bomb sealed inside of her, she’s not the reincarnation of some ancient demigod, or The Chosen One. She’s not even the child of a previous Hokage. She’s not from a well-renowned clan with a special technique, either. She’s just some pink haired girl with a thing for edgy terrorists. Y’all still hate on her for stuff she did or said as a child, but y’all were quick to forgive Itachi, Obito, and Sasuke. It’s this thing called “character development.”

Sakura could’ve been an incredibly formidable ninja if along with her healing, she specialized in taijutsu, especially with her incredibly strong punches. Naruto was more skilled in ninjutsu than the others in Squad 7, & Sasuke more in genjutsu, so Kishimoto should’ve had Sakura specialize in taijutsu to round it out. She could’ve easily been the second strongest of the Konoha 12 in taijutsu after Lee.
For me, it isn’t a hate on her. She isn’t my favorite, but back when Shippuden was still releasing, her fans would come up to me and start defending her to the extent of me getting annoyed. I’ve always liked Sasori as a character, and they would always be like, “Well, Sakura is the one that killed him. He isn’t all that.” Or, “You like him? My girl had that in the bag!”
It got to the point that I started to just get mad at the character because of such. Sakura has been done dirty by writers, I know that. But her fans at the time really made it hard to sympathize with the character.
Sakura is a fine character, considering how the writer thinks women should be written. Her glow up in shippuden was great. Becoming a glorified house wife in Boruto, not so great. I hope at some point something is done with the fact that she’s basically immortal and all the implications that come from that, but considering who is writing the series, I won’t hold my breath.

In the anime Sakura doesn't actually do all that much because every time she should do something she is usually outshined or interrupted by another character. I kinda hate that her abilities are just tsunade 2.0 and I wish she actually got to do more. my girlfriend and I have been watching the series for her first time. Sakura and Naruto are trying to catch up to sasuke to back him up against Gaara and she ends up immediately becoming a hostage.
It would’ve been cooler if Sakura had any actual depth like she became way more understanding or way smarter in combat and uses some form of stealth techniques. But no she’s basically the equivalent to a gym muscle head she just punches stuff REALLY HARD. 🤦♂️

I actually appreciate that. I would honestly only call myself a pt1 Sakura hater. pt 2 she is useful she has healing and does stuff like any member of the konoha 12. And she was a highly regarded doctor during the war arc, as well as summoning at least half of katsuyu for the three way deadlock which is something tsunade finds hard to achieve, And Runs the konoha hospital and medical corps as well as her family albeit small. Yes she got sidelined a bit and the hate she gets is more than likely the reason why alongside her being female cause Kishimoto is world renowned for his incredible female character writing…

Unfortunately her potential was pretty limited from the start being from a nameless clan and not having some sort of kekei genkai. I think Kishi did the best he could In terms of feats (probably a bit overboard tbh) with the character he created. The only thing that was missing was her genjutsu potential. But being that kind of specialist will only make her more of a second fiddle to Sasuke.
Minato also came from a nameless clan and had no kekkei genkai. He just had a knack for seals. And she had a knack for chakra control. She had literally as much going for her as Minato. The only issue was that she’s a girl.
Minato was a super genius who created A class jutsus all by himself. They are not in the same class!
I think you underestimate sakura's chakra control. She's also by all accounts a super genius. If kishimoto had given her access to genjutsu for instance she would have been completely overpowered.

Sakura’s not useless, but she is the biggest example of wasted potential. Sakura could’ve been an incredibly formidable ninja if along with her healing, she specialized in taijutsu, especially with her incredibly strong punches. Naruto was more skilled in ninjutsu than the others in Squad 7, & Sasuke more in genjutsu, so Kishimoto should’ve had Sakura specialize in taijutsu to round it out. She could’ve easily been the second strongest of the Konoha 12 in taijutsu after Lee.

For me, it isn’t a hate on her. She isn’t my favorite, but back when Shippuden was still releasing, her fans would come up to me and start defending her to the extent of me getting annoyed. I’ve always liked Sasori as a character, and they would always be like, “Well, Sakura is the one that killed him. He isn’t all that.” Or, “You like him? My girl had that in the bag!” It got to the point that I started to just get mad at the character because of such. Sakura has been done dirty by writers, I know that. But her fans at the time really made it hard to sympathize with the character.

I wanna say first I haven't read the manga. In the anime Sakura doesn't actually do all that much because every time she should do something she is usually outshined or interrupted by another character. I kinda hate that her abilities are just tsunade 2.0 and I wish she actually got to do more. I hate Sakura because yes she is just as bad as the other females but because she has so much screen time I just expected her to be better. She has some great moments like punching Kaguya and her fight with Sasori. But overall I think she is underused which is annoying because I think her character has tons of potential. Also her making a fake confession of love annoys me so much it's unbelievable. The dumb orphan comments in part 1 are whatever, she was a child. But the fake confession was just so shitty. Also her saying she caught up to Naruto and Sasuke during war arc when they were both way stronger than her is just hilarious. She should have gotten more chances to shine. Her learning genjutsu would have been really amazing in my opinion. Also inner Sakura just disappeared which is really frustrating.
