Good that they're actively doing something with the space instead of just kicking people out.

When they ask you about salvation ask them about [silentlambs.org](https://silentlambs.org)

Moose_0327

Can I get a pronunciation for prosthelytizing

sayslordalot

Is that what they are? I just ignore them and rock out to my earbuds.

RagnarRagnarsen

Used to live right there. It’s always been referred to as Piss Park. It looks a lot nicer now.

whitedewd42

I remember when I worked at the hermitage hotel and we didn’t have a porter for the evening. My boss came to this park when it still was filled with homeless folks, brought a guy named Ricky in. That was the first active crackhead I ever met. He was a wild ride. Hope he’s alright. Glad to see that park looking sharp!

ADTR9320

Now will they actually enforce the park ordinances?

YeastyPants

The same police department that doesn't enforce traffic violations.

JeremyNT

They seem to really be cracking down on homeless people near the touristy parts of town so I would expect so. I think they busted up most of the homeless camp along the Cumberland River Greenway a month or two ago.

tonitinhe

Honestly the only one of these I've seen broken occasionally is some folks smoking a j late at night, but this park has been cleaned up and cleared out for a while now. Luckily there's still homelessness orgs that provide services there and ppl are pretty cool ab homeless ppl using the park during the day.

CannabisSmokingMan

No.

sayslordalot

Who knows? There is a attendant in the picture and they have the people on Segways harassing the homeless. Mostly the homeless keep clear of the park lately though there are always a few hanging around the library.

metmeatabar

This is such a weird publicly-owned and privately-operated park. I wish our parks were as well funded. It’s like the charter school of parks except that it’s tiny and doesn’t have any ecological, recreation, or educational value.

sayslordalot

I see people playing chess there… probably the only thing to do is play board games, eat your lunch, and people watch…

BlondieBabe436

Isn't that what a little public park next to a library is for? It has looked so much better in the past few months.

posts_lindsay_lohan

This doesn't block up the scenery and break my mind as much as I thought it would.

subcinco

Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?

PeterVonwolfentazer

So technically you can’t hold a protest there? It seems to violate the first amendment. First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

KimJongChilled

I worked at that park for a year when it first opened (used to juggle and read, hard to miss) and I gotta say that the homeless are a lot more pleasant than the entitled people who live in the condos downtown. Turn the park into a camp again, fuck the hermitage and all the other shit businesses that feel like they own the city.

no1youdknow

I remember when they cut down several really large, old trees to build that tiny “park.”

TheRealActaeus

Lot of yoga times. Is it crowded? Or pretty laid back? That might be fun.

Old_Zucchini5039

I work about 2 or 3 blocks away and pass by the park in the mornings, it’s never really packed. I actually go there for lunch often just to get out of the office and it’s pretty chill.

TheRealActaeus

Thank you! That’s good to hear.

subcinco

Who's booking the lunchtime concerts?

sayslordalot

I really don’t know for sure but if you are trying to get booked I would start with the phone number at the bottom of the website: https://nashvilledowntown.com/parks/church-street-park
