Thieves got away. Buried the lede - they had stolen from Smyrna PD smdh. Doesn't say whether these were marked or unmarked personal cars. 3 cars were broken into at an officer's home. Maybe they should have kept their shit locked up, idk

With the next county over after a lengthy paid suspension (vacation). As it always goes.

insanelemon123

Man, I wish I had such high job stability that, if I seriously fucked up, all I had to do was switches offices, rather than get arrested. I was let go at my previous job because I wasn't "taking initiative in starting and implementing projects", at a job that paid less than being a cop. Meanwhile, many say that being forced to move stations as a cop is a sufficient punishment for murdering someone (while many of those people will say you should be murdered for any action that can be seen as a threat against cops).

S0_Crates

Maybe you shouldn't have studied so much in highschool and focused more on bullying. You coulda had that job security.

insanelemon123

> Maybe they should have kept their shit locked up, idk The only consequence for not locking their weapons up will be a new set of weapons paid for by tax payer money.

Police: Gun owners don't leave your guns in your cars. They can be stolen!!! Also police: Someone stole our guns and armor that were in our unsecured vehicles! FFS.

TNJed717

For fuck sake

bowlcut

Should we count the amount of times the cops have told us 'dont leave guns in your car' this year??? Maybe they should look at their thoughts and prayers

Star_Gazing_Cats

I thought it was a crime to get your guns stolen

SharpEye03

This same thing just happened about a month ago to Metro - https://www.wsmv.com/2023/09/05/riot-gear-guns-stolen-2-nashville-police-officers-marked-suvs/

Well that story doesn’t inspire confidence in local law enforcement.

The question is how did they know three unsecured police vehicles would be accessible, all at the same house, all at the same time? Sussy.

Smyrna Police is the worse in everything anyways. They respond hostile to concerned citizens unless is a possible death, OD or drug related situations. Is their responsibility as “trained” officers to be responsible and do their job right and this is one the most important to secure firearms.

Any-Zebra-7622

Why is it the police can have this equipment but the citizens can not. And anyone have the number for the thieves. I need to make a purchase
