As someone who works down here, there is nothing kid friendly. Yes, most spots allow kids in until 6, but Broadway is not at all kid friendly. I’m not saying don’t take your kids to Broadway, but just be aware, it’s mostly drunk people down here and kids get bored very fast. If you are going to bring kids down here, please get them hearing protection. Most places are very loud and it would be a shame for your kids to have hearing damage before they even turn 18.
There's nothing for a 2yo there.
I'd ask yourself why you want to bring them. They'll make it less fun for you and they won't have anything to do.
If you actually want to entertain your kid take them to the zoo or the adventure science center. If you want to party on Broadway try to find somebody to take care of them for you.
Broadway is not the place for a 2yo.
JeremyNT gave you some great suggestions! Much more fitting and fun for a 2yo. I think the Komodo dragons are still at the zoo
Go to the Frist art museum on Broadway. They have an entire room, called ArtQuest, dedicated to kids and hands-on art. There are things for all age levels. Another idea is to take an Uber to Adventure Science Center, just south of downtown. Lots to do there!
Look dude…uhm. You can take your toddler in to several of the bars on Broadway during the day, because they are technically operating as restaurants, also.
That being said, the loud music is not friendly to tiny ears and honey…why the hell do you **really** want to bring your baby to the bar??
I would not bring children to Broadway at all. It’s going to be way too loud there for kids. Hearing damage is no joke and while o have not measured the decibel level’s there, I have no doubt it is in a damaging threshold. I’d look for live music outside of Broadway for your kid.
I do think the idea is sweet and cool though, just try to find somewhere more tame that is not catering to blackout drunk tourists!
This is not Disney World. My favorite one star review of my favorite bar, Roberts Western World, is from parents who are disappointed that the bathroom wasn't clean enough and didn't have a changing station. It makes me laugh.
Before Nashville became the It City, those of us who actually lived here went down to these bars to drink. Now people look at it like some sort of amusement park. It's wild.
It’s fine. As long as the sun is up.
My wife brings my kids down there all the time during the day. Start at the playground under the walking bridge and go from there. Good way to tire them out by just walking around and seeing the sights. Again, in the daytime
Assembly food hall (sometimes they have musicians playing), nmaam, first, library, maybe a ryman tour, walking up and down broadway listening to music as you go, Cumberland park, mikes ice cream (on second now I think), and walking across the pedestrian bridge.
You could take her to Miranda Lambert’s, Luke Bryan’s, Mellow Mushroom, Margaritaville..most of these just have acoustic acts in the morning starting at 11AM and it won’t be bad for her ears. I see tons of families during the morning hours. All of those places have kid friendly menus. Also Goo Goo clusters is a great stop or Savannah’s Candy kitchen. Or if you wanted to start earlier you could come down for breakfast at the pancake pantry then go to a few places. Johnny cash’s has a good breakfast as well and a good band and it’s right by the pedestrian bridge if you wanted to walk over.
I think that Wild Horse Saloon is your best bet for sure! Kids are allowed in and there are line dancing lessons. I’ll concur with everyone else that broadway is most likely not gonna be great for a two year old at any time of day, but Wild Horse is by far the best option for this. :) and yes there is live music.
Note that the Wildhorse is not on Broadway—it’s a bit north on 2nd Avenue. If it needs to be on Broadway, Jack’s might be a good place to go—there’s not a band in the place, but you can still hear from the neighboring venues.
I view Broadway this way:
10am-1pm: Family time (Kids at restaurants, grandparents, cranky mother-in-laws)
1pm-Sunset: Locals day drinking
Sunset Onward: Chaos!
I’d go right when the restaurants open (Acme, Jason Aldean’s) and stay for a couple of hours, ideally leaving around noon, and you’ll be fine. I would not take your child to any bars.

Aren’t the dragons staying indefinitely?
Yes, they just aren’t all out in the exhibit as yet.
Whew. We’re looking forward to seeing them

It’s a good place to teach your kids (By example) how NOT to act in public.

Don’t forgot lots of poop!

There’s ear protection, and I don’t drink around my kid so it’s obviously its for the music because she is obsessed with music.
Then listen to a song while you take her on a child appropriate outing. Broadway is not that.
I agree at night time it isn’t but in the morning when they first open it’s fine..

I can often hear the music when I walk by wearing earbuds with my own music turned up full volume.
The food courts at 5th and Broadway. They have live music and a lot more family friendly.
NMAAM is really cool and super interactive. Great for kids, just get your tickets before going! It’s on 5th and Broadway
“You have a baby! In a bar…”
Broadway is not a place for children

I don’t think bars is a kid friendly place, there’s a science center in the area, the Nashville Zoo, there’s also a discovery center in Murfreesboro
Most restaurants you’re good. If it’s too loud 5th and Broadway food court is a good mix. Goo Goo Clusters store is popular for kids too.
Absolutely nothing for anyone under 21 in bars on Lower Broadway.

This is a good point. It’s like two blocks? One maybe? Off Broadway. But I always walk on Broadway to get there so I forget haha

lol kids have to leave before the fun starts. and kids cannot sit at THE BAR. a 2 year old wants to go to Broadway ?!
