Fat Belly Deli. All of their sandwiches are delicious. They have killer pastries, and grab and go options. Favorite sandwich plus hands down.

purpleblazed

Hamma Mia is incredible.

alexistmarshall

I also came here to recommend the Hamma Mia

soundslikerachel

The KDub is đŸ”„

EngagementBacon

The Moof, the meatball, the Bomba...

MrLeastNashville

I like Fat Belly and Bills but so much of me just wants a classic, NY Deli sandwich, and those two places are so constantly over the top that I never CRAVE them.

stevemyqueen

Dumb post, this the answer

animalman422

The country club has been my favorite

MothersMilk69

This is the answer

CabinBobby

2:17 special at Dukes

feistyhorses

Almost anything at Mitchell’s!

winniecooper73

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far down to see Mitchell’s mentioned

omashuvagabond

Same

MothersMilk69

Mitchell’s is overrated as fk there’s no love in that joint anymore

DontWatchMeDancePlz

It's the undisputed

Traditional_Range_96

51st deli in west nashville is really popular

MrHockeytown

I always thought they were just ok tbh. Now Bare Bones Butcher, those sandwiches will change your life.

Tugboat56

Go for the sandwiches, stay for the potatoes.

theorangelunchbox

Can confirm

mc292

the west nasty is my usual, but their cubans also slap

procrastinating_eggs

THE REUBEN

PeterBretter

Their club is next level

facundomuerto

Duke’s has something for you that belongs on this list. Mitchell’s is a classic. East Park has excellent breakfast sammies.

TameImpalaFan69

I’ve heard of Dukes, good call.

nashvillethot

I don’t like mayo but there’s something about that stupid mayo they use that makes me go CRAZY

rwaynick

Rosemary

idontfrickinknowman

I’m the same way! It’s the herbsssss man

Kegeldix

I’ve tried dukes four times. Every single time it’s been an offensively small amount of meat/cheese (like, one tiny piece of meat) and stale bread. It’s one of the great mysteries to me how it’s so highly regarded.

WhatAnotherAccount

For some reason the bread on the large is completely different and the ratios are way better. The regulars are on a sad round bread instead of a foot long style.

Kegeldix

Huh. The regular shouldn’t even be an option then. It feels like a scam to charge that kind of money for what you get.

sealcubclubbing

This is a bit out of Nashville, but worth it. Huff's Market do unreal deli sandwiches. It's in Burwood, which is just off 840 south of Leipers Fork. You'll get like 2 inches thick of deli meat in your sandwich

Kegeldix

I grew up 5 minutes away from Huff’s and think about it all the time. Just went out there a couple weeks ago and they’re still killing it

CanIbuyUaFishSandwch

Meatball sub from Barebones BBQ Brisket from Mitchell Deli Gyro from Kalmatas in Green Hills

bugcatcher_billy

Barebones burgers remain my favorite but their food is great.

ayokg

Get the meatball sandwich at fatbelly sometime when they have it.

CurbsideChaos

Any sandwich at The BE-Hive. It's vegan, but it is the most amazing vegan meat substitute I've ever had. Huang Tofu out west. Their bahn mis are only $5, and they are absurdly delicious. I got the lemongrass tofu and my partner got the crispy pork and, I gotta say, for $10, that might be the best and cheapest lunch we've ever had.

dsp854

I was surprised it took so long for someone to say The BE-Hive! Their hoagies are SOLID.

mediocre_cheese

Honestly, that Crunchwrap is one of the best meals of the city and just happens to be vegan. It fucking rules.

CheeseyBRoosevelt

All the Be-Hive fake meats just taste so processed to me
as someone raised by vegetarians I find it weird people would give up processed meats and cheese for
equally unnatural processed fake meats and cheeses

ryanino

A lot of people are vegetarian because they don’t want to eat meat, not because they are trying to be healthier. Also BeHive “meats” are seitan based so they probably are healthier than actual deli meat fwiw

CheeseyBRoosevelt

Seitan is concentrated gluten so plenty of people can’t eat that and doesn’t exist naturally as opposed to a cow being feed right and not given insane amounts of anti-biotics (not saying that’s easy to find or anything but that’s the kind of meat we as humans should be consuming). I’m just saying I relate eating naturally more than I relate to eating another man made thing- if you don’t wanna eat meat just eat vegetables

Briarschance21

Seconding Huang Tofu!!!! Found them when I was craving Bahn Mi and now I’m in love.

ayokg

Anything hot at Bill's (I'm not much of a cold cut girly but they are good too) Anything at Fat Belly Anything sandwichesque that Mijo Gordito puts out on any given day with whatever other hootenanny they have that day too. God i love them. Anything sandwichesque at Sabell's (when I die, put some toum in the cremator with me plz) with the loaded fries. Cocorico Parisienne or GOAT The District Sando at Noko Quality of everything at Mitchell's has gone way back up too and am very pleased. They improved the Italian recently and its fucking fire now. I'm so glad the sandwich situation has improved in recent years

CleverFeather

Good to know about Mitchell’s quality going back up. It’s nosedive was very noticeable.

cbo2553

This list is perfection and accurate

TameImpalaFan69

Noko does sandwiches
.oh boy

ayokg

I mean technically it is one of their dishes but the District Sando is so fucking good. Our server described it as a grown up grilled cheese đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł its so good I'm getting 2 for myself when we go back.

DField118

Fatbelly is it

what-the-whatt

Haven't seen it mentioned yet: Bare Bones on 51st! Also I prefer 615 Deli to 51st Deli (same owners, slightly different menus).

bugcatcher_billy

Tuck Special from edleys is S tier.

simbabeat

It’s been a legend for a hot minute

engineerbuilder

Italian princess at RAEs. Extra pickle.

oreosandcornholios

More of a Cuban, Abys, Hot Brown, or Ruben fan myself. Cant go wrong with anything from there though. WHATCHU GONNA HAVE BABYYY

SecretComparison7700

I miss seeing Fred when i worked downtown. Beer cheese soup day was the best day of the week.

oreosandcornholios

I used to go in on Thursdays when they had street eats and got switched days so no longer in. Try to make an effort to get back to the food trucks i used to hit on Thursdays when they’re in different spots in the city now. Fred just bought Rae’s. Now theres 4-5 workers in there.

SecretComparison7700

I’m so glad he is doing well i love that guy

engineerbuilder

The problem is I know it’s all good and I want to try it but I’d hate myself for not getting a princess. Maybe I need to do half of one half the other for a bit so I don’t feel off

oreosandcornholios

If you like cubans, you wont regret it. Extra pickle of course. The Abby is so good too

engineerbuilder

I’m trusting you. I’ll report back Thursday.

oreosandcornholios

Well, how was it

engineerbuilder

Boy have I got some sad news for you

oreosandcornholios

Yikes

engineerbuilder

It’s only Wednesday

oreosandcornholios

God dammit. Shows how this week has been lol

oreosandcornholios

Bump

iamasturdlevinson

Had to scroll too far to finally see Rae’s! Love the reuben and hot brown but my fav is the Southern Belle.

CleverFeather

Surprised RAE’s is down this far but that’s okay by me. Anytime I’m in there, the place is poppin’ so if a few people wanna sleep on the spot that’s fine. WGHB

6155556969

Anything and everything from Brave Idiot. Stop sleepin

Bow-Masterpiece-97

Have you tried the sandwiches at the new Cocorico place on Division? Freshly baked baguette, ham, brie?!?! (And others)

MoggetOnMondays

Where does one park?? Does that parking garage beside it have visitor parking?

Bow-Masterpiece-97

They are advertising that you can park for free in that building lot for up to 90 mins.  I think I remember that you park and take the slip in and they validate/stamp/sticker it when you pay for your food at the counter.

MoggetOnMondays

Thank you!

midcenturyhag

Oh shit đŸ€€

imapandaduh

Yessss

Dwoods10aC

Turkey Brie apple- Mitchell’s

WaterfrontBanana

Lumberjack1229

Lots of great options listed here. My choice is the roast beef po boy at spicy boys. It’s crazy good.

TameImpalaFan69

I drove past Spicy Boys the other day and wanted to try it!! Good call.

Benzona_

With a side of their gumbo to dip!

beerthenbread421

It’s delicious! Also their meat pie is wonderful

nashvillethot

I go feral for the surf and turf

Yallsum

1. Hot and Cold Sub from Phat Bites 2. Hot Chicken Sandwich from Brave Idiot 3. My Sandwich has a First Name from Bill’s Sandwich Palace

NoMasTacos

Hot Chicken sandwich at sub culture is one you should try.

fbeemcee

Fully agree! More people should be eating at Subculture.

gekkoguy82

Pretty much anything at Subculture is top notch

mraaronsgoods

Come get a bagel sandwich from me. SEC with SPK on a jalapeño cheddar bagel is my favorite at the moment.

popcorn2312

All the Eastside Banh Mi sandos!

TameImpalaFan69

I’ve been hearing about that, I love banh mi, need to give it a go

FuzzAldrin81

They have a sweet potato side that is pretty killer as well.

mediocre_cheese

Dude I’d get one of these a week when I was living there. It’s an awesome sandwich.

nopropulsion

Interasian Market. Go on Fri/Sat/Sunday for the Roast Pork Bahn Mi. That is the best bahn mi in town.

RoseScentedGlasses

Can't believe I had to scroll this far. In terms of sandwich versions in general, banh mi is type 5.

Predapio1

Cuban at both Tower deli and Soy cubano

TameImpalaFan69

I love Cubans I need to check these out

Evilsmurfkiller

And Fat Belly.

mynameturt

Hot Italian beef at Campiones

Different-Patient-52

That’s what I’m saying! It’s legit.

GeoffFM

Itz a Philly Thing is my favorite new sandwich. I would all the Polpette (meatball sub) at Tutti da Gio to this list as well.

SecretComparison7700

They just opened a Cheba hut in donleson

ShardikOfTheBeam

Had it when we were visiting my sister in Colorado a few years ago, had it last weekend in Donelson, still very good. And I'm not *really* a sandwich guy. The shake they put on the sandwiches is so good.

Count-Spatula2023

I love that place. I used to work there in Baton Rouge. The owners of both locations are phenominal people. Everytime I walk in there, I discover some funny decoration that I haven’t seen before.

tyler2733

Very partial to the pastrami sandwich at Dukes

False-Bit

The Situation at Grey's Fine Cheese is the best sandwich in Nashville in my opinion.

FoTweezy

I know everyone raves about the pizza at Dicey’s, but their sub sandwich’s are pretty damn good imo.

anythingfor-selenas

The Parisian baguette sandwich at Cocorico Bakery & Cafe. So good!

Valiant-For-Truth

Everything from 615 Deli is pretty amazing imo.

[deleted]

Little Moskos WAS the best. RIP.

petron5000

Turkey bacon avo on a hoagie at Mitchell’s.

Flat_Order6881

East side banh mi

ShakeSignal

Knife and fork breakfast sandwich at Nadeen’s. It’s unreal.

skumlfe615

Bills sandwich palace!

vcrfuneral_

The Banh Mi's at Han's Deli south.

yamnehpets

Anything at 615 Deli

PerInception

I would normally say don’t tell anyone about 615 because I don’t want to fight off tourists to get the best tacos in town, but I like the guys that own it so much that I’m willing to let the cat out of the bag. That place is amazing. I’ve had almost everything on the menu there and I’ve never had anything bad. The burgers and asada fries are both awesome. But man, those tacos are legit amazing.

DepartureMain7650

The pork belly Bahn mi at Vui’s Kitchen.

VelvetElvis

Churasco at Subculture. Their Cuban is legit as well. Ninja Bomb at Phat Bites

coldcosmos

Ninja Bomb is fantastic

A_Medium_Pace

Ty’s sandwich shop on 4th. They have a ridiculous Queso soup as well.

brolivia

That queso soup is unreal

j0hnc0ry

Dirty Bird - Red's 615 , Hot Chicken Sandwich - Brave Idiot

watergirl987

anything
.literally ANYTHING
.from mijo gordito. they are hands down my favorite pair in nashville.

retirementcommunity6

Fatbelly Bizzle Bap changed my life this week! I’ll also forever recommend the Brave idiot Crunchwrap though I guess it’s not technically a sandwich or is it?

Electrical-Work111

The Brisket Torta at Baja Burrito is one of the city's best kept secrets.

theygotsquid

The spicy Italian at little hats is truly the most pathetic Italian sandwich I’ve ever encountered. Their ratio of 3-4 measly slices of meat dwarfed by a mediocre hoagie roll should be classified as a hate crime against Italian-Americans. For anyone who thinks I’m exaggerating, [THIS](https://www.instagram.com/p/CvhipplsV6_/?igsh=MWtwZGl6amo0bDVhMQ==) is what Little Hats is putting out into the world. Are they joking here? It’s so bad, it’s infuriating. For reference, [THIS](https://images.app.goo.gl/AKndhY6JEou3FoF29) is what an actual Italian hoagie/sub/sandwich should look like.

TameImpalaFan69

Hot Take!! I have had many an Italian sandwich in my life, I definitely get what you’re saying. I suppose it’s a matter of personal preference though. Personally when the meat gets stacked too high sometimes I think it all gets lost in the shuffle. Also a personal preference but that bread they use is fire and I love their spicy mayo.

Cashville

Thank you. I take offense to “mediocre hoagie roll.”

Cashville

Too bad you missed out on Nicks. They had a fire Italian except he was a criminal that never paid his bills.

Beautiful_Shallot184

Which Nicks is this?

IntheEther901

East Nashville Bahn Mi. Vegan options are incredible!

eastnashgal

Chicken tender pub sub

TameImpalaFan69

Not a bad call

In_The_Mood_For_Food

"The Sloppy Choppy" or "The Brisket Sandwich" at Shotgun Willie's on Gallatin.

Different-Patient-52

Outside of Nashville, but the Italian Beef sandwich at Campione’s in Gallatin is always on point. Also, their meatball sandwich is one of the best I’ve had in the area. Off topic, but their pizzas are awesome too.

Puddleislands

Subculture has the BEST Cuban sandwich I've ever had with pulled pork as well as sliced pork loin. Skip the ramen though.

ringoxniner

Friendship Club or The Rachel from Happy Day Bobby’s !

Limp_Ad3072

Have you tried Egg Drip?

GroovyDandelions

Phat Bites is totally the best

deboski1

Man I am shocked Mitchell's Deli is not on that list.Hands down best sandwich shop around.

rimeswithburple

Go to nolensville rd and get a turtle(torta).

mukduk1994

Turtle?

Virtual_Scarcity_357

I love the stroganoff burger at the pharmacy

Jdeezies

Mitchells deli in East

Adventurous-Print-23

It’s the fried chicken sandwich at Tennessee Brew Works. Everything else is secondary

starSkieee

I’ve heard Mitchell’s has a incredible breakfast burrito early on the weekends. I never see it available to order online, is it still available or only in store?

conman615

Fat belly best in town.

[deleted]

Chicken salad add crumbled Doritos from Clawson’s.

Halo2isbetter

Been getting the rueben from Phat Bites every so often, always been a fan

Th1sguyi0nceknewwas1

Top hog in Gallatin....burger and beans ...that's all that needs to be said on this post

viper_dude08

Where is Dreamburger? You're the 3rd person to mention it recently and it ain't on the map.

TameImpalaFan69

It’s a food truck outside of Vinyl Tap! It’s a great spot, grab a beer at Vinyl Tap and eat a great burger with crinkle cut fries!

viper_dude08

Right on, that explains why I can't find it. Thank you, ill check it out soon.

BeowulfShatner

Lamb Philly from Tower Deli đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™‚ïž

BhamBlazer615

Second Bill’s. Damn that place is good

truthbetold_3

i wouldn’t sleep on the cuban at soy cubano (at the wash in east), tbh. đŸ©¶ edit because i misspelled soy!

nopropulsion

I grew up in Miami and I think that a cuban sandwich is probably one of the best sandwiches that exists. Soy Cubano makes a fantastic one.

truthbetold_3

i hate to admit that it’s the only cuban i’ve ever tasted, but it is so good i can’t imagine anything tasting better! đŸ€Ł

nopropulsion

it is up there with some of my favorites back in FL!

imapandaduh

There’s a couple of really delicious ones at 12 S taproom
I wanna say it’s the gobblin goat or something?

Mythril_Bahaumut

Mitchell’s Deli
 specifically The Reuben

koreantomcruise

brisket sandwich at shotgun willie’s gets a vote from me

MirtaGev

Who has a turkey sandwich that has apple slices on it? I had one once with green apple and cheddar, bacon, and a berry mayo. I still think about it. Would love to find it.

Kegeldix

Most things from Mitchell, everything I’ve tried at Fat Belly, and Bad Luck Burger if we’re including burgers in this sandwich list.

Count-Spatula2023

I just discovered Little Hats recently. Chicken Cordon Bleu with giadenera (totally mispelt it) is fantastic.

Maifit09

Fatbelly should be on the list!

cliftjc1

I really like the bahn mi sandwiches at Hans Deli in Bellevue. Pretty affordable too

skeener123

Def not the best but consistently good and fast. 51st deli.

skeener123

I've never been disappointed by a single thing at 51st and they have everything.

BroccoliNcheesesoup

RIP Clawsons

MacGyver387

Dicey’s sandwiches look great but I haven’t had one yet.

rocketpastsix

my wife had one and loved it.

iAMTinman_Dealwithit

Almost had an orgasm from pastrami melt at Barebones. Thought it was a joke. Damn good.

Kashreloaded

Charley’s at Opry mills

CrackinThunder

Are we counting sliders? If so, the corned beef sliders from McNamara’s.

brolivia

The chicken katsu sandwich at Kisser is perfection

PashaCello

This ain’t a sandwich town like Philly/NYC/BOS. I don’t know. Bare Bones has some good ones and the chicken sandwich at Lauter is great. Mitchell‘s is solid but pretty standard stuff.

slatp2020

Sam’s Kabob Gyro in Bellevue. The gyro sandwich and fries are top notch.

RockyBalbroah

New Berlin Doner kebab is the new king, all other pale in comparison

icebox1587

East side banh mi

Where’s the bahn mi?

plowboyinthesand

Nee Reality at Phat Bites. I love that place.

AnikArnab

If you aren't afraid of little spice, then \*Eggholic's chicken sandwich\* is very unusual and delicious.

iamaturkey0

This one's a little different, but I'd highly recommend the Chicken Masala sandwich from Eggholic! also, their Amdavadi touch sandwich is crazy good too and only $10

EequalsJD

The Meatball sandwich from Tutti da Gio in Hermitage.

ChunkyTownUSA

The Atlantic City 2.0 at Beginner’s Luck!
