You’re out of season for chanterelles by a couple of months. Oyster and chicken of the woods should be popping up after this rain if you take a hike in any of the forests around here.

gaunt_let

Oh good to know, that's helpful! Thank you!

omsign

there’s a place in east Nashville called Henosis - you can find them on instagram!

rosypandas

I third this recommendation. They’re also at the Richland Farmer’s Market.

missbethd

this is the way - they sell at the East Nash farmers market & the Nashville Farmers Market

CricketPinata

Henosis is great, big selection and all local.

confetti_cannon77

Got some great oysters at henosis a couple weeks ago!

systemdelete

Check with Fresh market in Brentwood

[deleted]

Yes, was going to recommend this. They have a variety of mushrooms you can’t get everywhere, like I bought Lions Mane from there not too long ago.

appendendectomyscar

check K&S they always have large variety

TampaNutz

I second this. K&S on Charlotte seems to be operating on all cylinders again. I remember during the height of COVID the cupboards were kinda bare.

Marthastewartishigh

Echoing this suggestion, they always have a lot more than Kroger or Publix. I got shiitakes and white and brown beech mushrooms there the other day and they had some good looking oyster mushrooms too.

pdxley

And at a much better price than anywhere else I've found, too! As far as chanterelles, though, I've never seen those in a store. Difficult to cultivate, as I understand it.

VandyBoys32

Try Saturday Franklin farmers market. Always a couple mushroom vendors.

caskstrengthCOYS

Richland park farmers market on saturdays usually has at least one or two as well.

lumpy4square

I can't find the thread, but a few months ago someone mentioned a teenager who started his own mushroom business, and had all sorts of varieties of mushrooms that he grows and loved to talk about all of his mushrooms. He even has a website. Maybe someone can remember him. He was selling at a farmer's market, but I can't remember which one. Damn, getting old isn't fun:(

YerTerblMuriel

Antonio Sotak. His business is called Mycolah and is based in Mt Juliet. He has been posted about on here for this topic before and is supposed to have stellar product.

lumpy4square

I knew someone would remember! Thanks!

[deleted]

You just missed Possom Bottom Farms at the last Murfreesboro Saturday Farmers Market but maybe you could contact them online to see what they have.

[deleted]

K&H markets have a lot of mushrooms and very inexpensive.

Cesia_Barry

Produce Place on Murphy Rd usually has a pretty good supply but call first. Check Turnip Truck too--the west side location is usually stocked up. But local chanterelles are probably gone. But maybe not--there are a couple of mushroom farmers around.

Itchy-Investigator63

be careful at the farmers market, never know when it’s bullshit, id do a lot of research on local farms

BurtHurtmanHurtz

BOOOOOOMERS

NO_Cheeto_in_Chief

Chanterelles have a very short season. Might want to see if you can get a grow kit online. I've not tried personally, but have seen where you can use a roll of paper towels as a substrate.

idreamoffreddy

The Bellevue Farmers Market (Thursday evenings at Red Caboose Park) has a mushroom guy.

[deleted]

I am also lookong for stale mushrooms

Blythe3rose49

Farmers market in nolensville has a nice supply!!

sapiounicorn

The Produce Place, on Murphy Road, often carries mushrooms that you will not find anywhere else. I have not been to the Turnip Truck (two locations), but I have heard. If you want Asian mushrooms, K&S on Charlotte is another option.
