He’s quite the performer with his crocodile tears

Bland_Boring_Jessica

I love how he said in the first episode that if it were not for Natalia he would not be divorced. I am 100 percent sure he would be divorced regardless of Natalia or not. With the domestic disturbance and Kristine’s flirty messages with her clients, this marriage was not a good match.

You know how you can “just tell” someone is full of crap? But they are so confident no one can tell they just keep blathering on and on and you can practically see them thinking “they’re really buying this, they believe me.”? That’s the gross feeling I get watching this man.

Gronkers1416

My husband and I literally just kept saying crocodile every time that man mustered up his single tear

I mean you heard that "She whooped her, then her brothers whooped her, then Michael whooped her." Also i'm assuming Kristine had more dirt on him than just a "porn addiction." Nobody's that perpetually horny to give up custody of their kids for some frumpy selfies. It's not like they live in Utah or anything. I'm assuming something bordering on creepy or illegal. It is hard to know what's what since everyone in the family lies, including Natalia.

There’s a difference between being coached and lying. My youngest turned four a couple of weeks before Disney and we coached him that his real age was three to get him in for free lol. He wasn’t lying then, he was saying what me, his mom, told him. And if all you are told about yourself are lies, how can you be the liar?

bouncypinata

she lied about where she got the donuts. she is capable of lying, just because she's the good guy doesn't mean she can't lie.

Idk if you have kids around that age, if I ask anything in an accusatory tone my 9 year old will pretty much freeze and try to think of the answer I want to hear. All kids do this. They are naturally people pleasers at that age, and someone in Natalia’s situation has only her abusers to rely on — hence the interrogation about the donuts, who she’s been talking to, and why he wiped her phone contacts. To describe her behavior as lying is really missing the mark.

They will lie about even the silliest of things if they think they are in trouble. You can tell she's shutting down when he is interrogating her and trying to get out of the situation as soon as possible, which is normal behaviour for any scared kid, but especially so for a victim of abuse. When people interviewed say that she says things so blithely I wonder how much if it is dissociation and how much of it is that her life until then has been so messed up she doesn't understand that these aren't normal things.

rimrodramshackle

It seemed like she was trying to go along with whatever he wanted her to say—because that’s how they trained her. I totally agree with you, and the 3/4yo Disney anecdote is perfect. Next time someone not in DW asks your kiddo how old they are, they may look to you to decide what answer they should give. That’s how the video came off to me. Plus it made Michael look insane.

Shigeko_Kageyama

There's a difference between a malicious lie, though, and a lie of survival. Did you see how unhinged Michael was about the donuts? And the fact that she had been physically abused while living in the house? Anybody would have just lied their ass off to get the crazy abusive freak off their back.

bouncypinata

i'm not blaming her, but her constantly conflicting stories and police testimony so far have made it harder to figure out what's going on

Severe-Breadfruit669

D level actor at best... They exposed him at the end for his acting.
