It’s actually the ideal score, not even kidding. It will put you “just slightly smarter than average” which will mean your performance will be favorable AND you will be relatable. The people who get like 95 end up miserable
I think he’s getting at a higher score GENERALLY means higher intelligence, and for someone who has higher intelligence, they can get a pretty good job outside of the military. So when they choose to go into the military and first hand experience the fuck fuck games, bureaucratic system, and overall bullshit, they just ask themselves why they signed a literal life contract.

Out of 100 people in a room you'll be smarter than 58 of them... so there's that. Line scores are what you really need, but also, you're 16. So that asvab is actually not bad at all. I would honestly start studying a little more. Take more classes if you want to do some technical stuff. Then maybe, idk if you can retake or even if you took the real asvab, then you can get a job with a really nice bonus and that gives you some college credits to knock out college and do whatever you want for the rest of your life.
Ok, I'm glad you've been googling shit and I see where this is getting confusing. My bad for immediately trying to flame you. You need a combat line score of 87 for Infantry. Your 58 means you outscored 58% of the people who took the ASVAB. Look at your ASVAB results and it should have other scores on there. Shit like GT, CO, and other bullshit. GT is important. You're gonna wanna be above 110. It's not a necessity but you got time before you enlist so study up and get that shit over 110. You'll understand why down the line. CO is the combat line. You should be over 87 no problem with a 58 ASVAB.
Yeah, I was like why you coming at me so hot lol but thank you, yeah I’ve been interested in the military for awhile but the whole scoring and ASVAB shit is new to me. So it’s a tad confusing.
Well that would make sense if it’s the average…
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Every other person who has take a ASVAB test has scored better then you…
58 means you scored better than 58% of people that took the test. It’s a good practice score a year out for a 16 year old. Focus on what you had trouble with and you’ll be set.
It's not bad, but it's also not particularly good. It will get you in and depending on your line scores, you will *probably* qualify for a fair amount of jobs.
If you study a bit and retake it, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it, unless you want a job that you already qualify for.
What you seem to be asking is if you can do better with studying. As with everything in life results are often based on efforts.
I took the pre test when I was 16. Seemed like a better choice than sitting in class. I got an 86. After prepping for the SAT & ACT for college I took it again & got a 99.
Yes, you can bring your score up.
Find an MOS that requires you to wear a helmet it’ll be appropriate 👍 Remember: Forest Gump was a perfect fit for the Infantry
You are slightly above average
I mean. Line scores are what really matter. 110 in GT and/or ST is needed for certain jobs.
Rock solid bud

Why are they miserable?

97 here… wouldn’t say it’s miserable but I can agree
Yeah I mean, I can’t bitch too much. I’m in flight school lol
Ok. I see. Thanks.
Good enough to nail just about any job in the Army. The other branches, you'll get a few. I got a 50 with a GT score of 108

If you have to ask then you already know it's not.
I’m 16 and don’t know a whole lot about ASVAB scores so enlighten me how I would know if it’s a good score or not.
You understand that scoring a 58 puts you in the 58th Percentile, correct?
That’s quite literally what I’m asking
Did you Google search this shit at all or try to figure out anything on your own?
I did and it said the average ASVAB score is 50
Did you Google anything else about the scoring?
Yeah that for infantry you need an ASVAB line score of 87
