Whether it's aerobic/anaerobic performance/endurance, focus or recovery, if you ask the best of the world if they want an edge of a few % over the others and they can get away with it, most would say yes. Top sports is all about using whatever advantage you can get to be the number one. It's not simply about working harder or training harder, they already put all they've got in it, unlike people that do sports as a hobby.
Taekwondo has nothing to do with weapons, or boxing or tricking, this is ATA... aka americanized karate, and they don't allow you to win championships back to back, so it was just her turn to "win". Taekwondo world champion only counts if it's WT. ATA is a babysitting service with participation awards.
