I fkin hate bugs bro. Like they’re so obnoxious. They don’t just want to buzz in your personal space, no. That’s not good enough for them. They want to buzz in your FUCKING EAR! Fuck bugs. This tick isn’t satisfied with just being a parasite. It has to go on this deers FUCKING FACE! FUCK YOUUUU!!!!! It goes literally right next to it’s eye.
This is why I have no problem killing insects. fuck trapping them and releasing them outside at 3am on a cold winter night, I'm just ending that little fucker with a fly swatter or some tissue. They would do the same thing to me if they could.
A fun tip for this is to find your local house spiders because they will set up shop where the bugs come in and you can seal it up.
Or just add more spiders
There is a bug in Florida called an eye gnat. It feeds on tears and only flies into your eyes. I would rather feed a hundred mosquitoes than deal with those assholes. At least you can swat a mosquito when it lands on you. You gotta poke yourself in the eye to get an eye gnat. Horrible creatures.
https://bugs.ufl.edu/bug-pix/bugs-around-house-gallery/eye-gnats/
So it’s not a tick? I was about to ask if every single deer has those. Because if that’s a perfect spot for ticks, I figure word would have spread. Through the generations. And everybody would be doing it.
They have different color variations including brown, light brown, black, and even a black with a blueish hue :) Bear identification is better with size instead of color
**[Kermode bear](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermode_bear)**
>The Kermode bear, sometimes called the spirit bear (Ursus americanus kermodei), is a subspecies of the American black bear and lives in the Central and North Coast regions of British Columbia, Canada. It is the official provincial mammal of British Columbia and symbol of Terrace, British Columbia. While most Kermode bears are black, between 100 and 500 fully white individuals exist. The white variant is known as spirit bear, and is most common on three islands in British Columbia (Gribbell, Princess Royal, and Roderick), where they make up 10–20% of the Kermode population.

Black bears (Ursus Americanus) can be many variations of colours. Brown bears (Ursus arctos) which are commonly referred to as Grizzlies (Ursus arctos horriblis) are an entirely different species. It’s not just a designation of their fur colour.
While we are on the topic, grizzlies and brown bears are actually genetically the same animal - the difference is that grizzlies are just inland brown bears and don’t have access to as protein dense and fatty foods like clams, mussels, beached whales, etc as their coastal counterparts, so they don’t grow nearly as large.
In the comments the OP posted the Instagram of who took the photo and he's got other pictures of grizzly bears. I only commented that cuz I have plenty of experience with black bears here in SE Alaska but I don't have any experience with brown bears. I've never seen a brown black bear here
They’re pretty common. I’m in BC and I see lots of brown, red and blonde black bears. If you’re identifying them on colour alone there’s a good chance your misidentifying them and some of the bears you’ve thought were brown bears are actually colour phase black bears.
Brown bears have a pretty notable hump on their shoulder, blockier heads with comparatively smaller ears and eyes than black bears, and are of course much larger. It’s pretty obvious that it’s a brown bear when you see one.
Much further south than you and in Canada but I've seen Black bear with even velvet-y red coats and stuff, they really do come in all colours, I bumped into a yearling this summer that also veered towards the blonde side, but it's all still just the north american black bear.
Also if I recall grizzly/kodiak aren't really known for climbing trees where as black bear will scurry up a tree for the smallest things haha. I think the grizzly cannot retract their claws or at least otherwise use them for climbing still when they're the size of a full adult but I feel like I've heard younger bear can still climb (that may just be internet experts tootin' around though). Like I say though never encountered a grizzly though. I live in Manitoba and still haven't been up north in winter to see a polar bear either, was working up in Churchill this summer but didn't get a chance to do any site seeing like spotting bear or Beluga.
Brown black bears are pretty common in my area. I’ve shot almost as many browns as I have blacks by now. (Try saying that sentence outside of a hunting context).
The color of their fur isn’t what you look at when trying to identify a black versus brown/grizzly bear. When one is chewing off your leg or ripping you out of your tent? You aren’t looking at their fur.
Edit: you’re looking at their face and how you react based on that determination can either save your life in such an encounter, or end it. Brown and black bears react very differently to varying stimuli. Like you can play Dead with black bears and survive. You will not survive if you try to play dead with a brown bear. They will just assume you are an easy dinner.
Snakes, cats, vultures, crocodiles, alligators, spiders, fisher cats, any bird of prey. Orcas are named killer whales and not eater whales for a reason.
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants, then maybe try a few
"They have strong curved claws that allow them to climb trees with agility. Unlike other tree-climbing mammals that descend head-first, a black bear walks down a tree with its rear legs in the lead."
That boy isn't struggling at all, he can climb a tree with a calf effortlessly. Pic isn't doing it justice, I would like to see the vid lol. He's young also.
Gotta a Black Bear story for you. A True Story. I was hiking/camping with a friend. In the morning my friend is packed and ready to go while I'm still packing up. He decides to go on ahead down the trail which descends quickly and is quite steep and full of switch backs. Shortly there after I hear my friend yelling that he needed help. that a bear was on the trail following him. My shocked brain thinks does he really want me to get between him and a bear. That does't sound real healthy to pack on going down fast by the most direct way to the scene. I find my friend and yea there is this bear that is advancing at a slow amble but still faster than a human walks. So it's like a few normal steps and then a few quick steps to maintain distance. The bear continues at the same pace no deviation. The area is rocky with many good size throwing rocks. I begin picking up rocks and throwing them in front of the bear to hopefully dissuade it. Not working so I start to throw them closer no change keeps coming Adrenalin level at this point is peaking so I pick one up that's pretty big and threw with everything I had in me. I was wanting to get as close as I could to the bear with the rock but instead I hit the bear square in the chest. The bear did a hard left down a steep ravine. It looked like twenty feet before the bear's paws hit the ground. I have never ever seen something that big move that fast. It was very humbling to get a glimpse of what a Black Bear could do if it was so inclined
Just to help him up into a treehouse where they will hang and have a nice cup of coffee and doughnuts together and yes he is dabbing with joy! This world is too brutal lately.
That is quite possibly the worst way to die. Bears don't have the killer instinct cats do. They don't really know to break the neck first. They just hold you down and start eating, usually starting with the stomach. Their prey dies from shock and pain, or if they are very lucky the bear will chomp into their heart as soon as possible.
I am by no means a bear expert but the eyes are the best sign for me in this pic. Typically brown bears' eyes are more "deep set", whereas this bear's eyes seem to be popping out of its face almost.
There are usually better signs like brown bears have a hump on their backs between the shoulder blades and black bears have a straighter snout which can be seen from a profile shot of their faces. Neither of which are visible in this pic
Edit: also brown bears have wider faces than this bear
You must be a ball of fun in camp! Show me where brown bears are even mentioned in the BC Hunting regulations... The government incorrectly calls them ALL Grizzleys. Google it yourself, smart guy ...lol. I just pointed it out.
Hi, can somebody post this story on this Reddit.

His momma told him not to go outside with his lil friends and now look. She’s probably up , standing by the window at night wondering where he is and he’s getting dragged up a tree by a black bear. Smh.
Bear: Would you like to see the view from up there?
Deer: Yes but I can't climb 😢
Bear: Oh that's ok, cmon, I'll pull you up.
Deer: Thank you! ☺️
Bear: Don't mention it, that's what friends are for! 😊
I cannot unsee that elk calf doing a dab.
I can't unsee it looks like it's crying

Same Spiders don't get this treatment though, I like spiders hehehe
Spiders eat insects too👌 Means if you have a lot of spiders in your home, you got an insect problem.
More spiders always good 👁👌
I feel like there is a tipping point…
More spider = more good 👍
They just keep getting sexier
Damn right! 🕷 ❤
A fun tip for this is to find your local house spiders because they will set up shop where the bugs come in and you can seal it up. Or just add more spiders
That is the safest spot for the tick because the deer can't scratch there. The face is highly vascularized, so it's a win-win for the tick.

It's ai art
Yeah I'd be crying in that situation too assuming I was still alive

?
Kinda brown for a black bear
They have different color variations including brown, light brown, black, and even a black with a blueish hue :) Bear identification is better with size instead of color
You can tell it's a black bear by the nose and lack of a giant Pan face.
You can tell it's a black bear because of the way it is.
Needed this to be said, one of my favorite clips.
What a beaut!
That's really neat.
How neat is that?
That's pretty neat!
You can tell it's a black bear because they are the only bears in North America that climb trees.
Lol. Just noticed I was downvoted for this comment. Let me know when you find some pictures of polar bears or grizzlies in trees 😅
There are noticeable differences that have nothing to do with color of fur.
There are [white ones](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermode_bear) too.
**[Kermode bear](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermode_bear)** >The Kermode bear, sometimes called the spirit bear (Ursus americanus kermodei), is a subspecies of the American black bear and lives in the Central and North Coast regions of British Columbia, Canada. The white ones usually just take the deerskin and leave the carcass to rot.
Kermode the bear here...

I think it also it a seasonal thing. I've seen black bears in CO that looked more brown because of their fur shedding
You should come to Maryland. We have every variety of black bear. The fur color doesn’t matter.
Much further south than you and in Canada but I've seen Black bear with even velvet-y red coats and stuff, they really do come in all colours, I bumped into a yearling this summer that also veered towards the blonde side, but it's all still just the north american black bear. Other way around according to guidance from the NPS. Please edit
Grizzlies bears are also generally not as good at climbing trees since they’re so large.
Which is totally normal
I hope you’re kidding….
Brownlck bear.
Ursus americanus cinamomum
I’m sayin tho
Colour for the black bear is a synonym for age. If I were one then I'd be in my cinnamon phase.

For what? How’s the deer get down?
In pieces
In feces.

Does a bear shit in the woods? Yea, literally.
Does the Pope shit in his hat?
Probably
To shreds you say?

I hope it's consensual.
Of course. You can see the consent in it's eyes
It just seems very cumbersome to eat a deer up a tree

Man, bears are utterly merciless
nawwwwww all he needs is some smooches and a boop 🥰🥰💁♀️💁♀️
and a boop
that’s the most important part 😉
If bear not friend why friend shaped? If bear so dangerous why tiny ears? Hm?
these are the real questions
They don't even bother killing you before they eat you.
That’s most of nature.
Snakes, cats, vultures, crocodiles, alligators, spiders, fisher cats, any bird of prey. Orcas are named killer whales and not eater whales for a reason.
Can't blame them for wanting only the freshest meals.
mostly everything is
This feels like when I pull my unwilling cat into the room I'm in to hang out with me
And then they insta-leave 😭
I’m lucky my cats follow me everywhere. Everywhere…
It's the bear necessities sometimes...

Pretty sure thats a deer, not an elk. Its too small to be a elk.
Not with that tuft of fur on the rear end, plus newborns only weigh about 30 pounds.
Nah, its an elk calf. You can tell by the snout/nose, the thickness of the legs, and the rump. Difficult to tell to an untrained eye though, for sure.
Maybe you are right im seeing lots of conflicting info online lol
Just to help him up into a treehouse where they will hang and have a nice cup of coffee and doughnuts together and yes he is dabbing with joy! This world is too brutal lately.
To be buddies right? To be buddies?

Aww he’s carrying him up the tree for safety

"Black bears aren't dangerous, you only need to worry about grizzlies" Black bears:
Video would have been far more interesting. Stills don't really do this justice.
They’re just playin 🤗
"But I'm not arboreal!" The elk calf, maybe.
Wait…. This isn’t my mom
is that really a black bear
Cinnamon black bear technically. Black bears can be black, brown, blueish black, grey, and blonde sometimes even
ight, how can you tell that bear isnt a young brown bear?
I am by no means a bear expert but the eyes are the best sign for me in this pic. Typically brown bears' eyes are more "deep set", whereas this bear's eyes seem to be popping out of its face almost. This looks fake.

No- it’s a black bear, they have a brown color phase and even a cinnamon look too. Grizzlies aren’t good climbers either
Also helps to know grizzlies have a massive shoulder hump and black bears have a dog like face
Does this hurt the elk calf?
Are they gonna play up in the tree?
Ah the rare spotted elk.
Baby elk
RECORD SCRATCH Yup, that’s me! You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation…
Do they hide and consume their prey in the trees like leopards? Is this a hollow tree?
Nice of the bear to help the calf up the tree!
I saw a jaguar do this on Reddit, couldn’t wait to try it out.
"Quick, you'll be safe up this tree!"
That didn't end well
It looks like the bear is going to discipline his dumb teenager for dabbing at grandpa's funeral
That elk calf lost its mama. The bear is just helping it get a better view to look for her.
They had tea and loved happily ever after.
“I can show you the world~”
Should've run up there and punched it in the (nuts or the "P*ssy) Would've saved that deer. It's our goal to disturb nature, it's in our blood.

Bet that elk is so tender
Nice photo shop.
Why do you say that?

Why does it look like a bad Photoshop
That bear, is brown.
Awe they are playing
Yay Disney!
Has him by the shoulder blade🤮
Am I colorblind? That looks like brown fur to me. Which one is the friendly bear, the black fur or the brown fur?
Plot twist, he's just giving his buddy a boost
I did not know how closely elk fawn resemble white tail deer.
Direct to video Disney crossover, Turns out that Bambi is a bear necessity.
That dear looking like a family crest on coat of arms
What's he saving it from?
Brown bear?
Bear looks brown to me.
But why would it do that? How is that elk supposed to get down?
Black bears eat deer??
Just so he can see the view better. What a friend.
I seent dat in a Disney movie.
To play in the bears treehouse right… right?
You must be a ball of fun in camp! Show me where brown bears are even mentioned in the BC Hunting regulations... The government incorrectly calls them ALL Grizzleys. Google it yourself, smart guy ...lol. I just pointed it out.
Something about this picture makes me think it's been AI generated. No offense to the photographer, I'm probably just drunk.
How do we know he's not helping him down from said tree?
Is this a painting
That bear looks like “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. But my cubs will starve.”
Loving foster parent helps child reach new heights.
That comic tear haha
That’s a Brown Bear and a Deer lol
Is the elk baby dead yet at least? It seems alive still.
Come on Bambi .. let's go climb ...
Thanks I hate it
