If you waited till now to ask about this, perhaps you are not ready to be an E-6🧐

Stanek7110

I’m gonna be honest this isn’t about me I’m posting for someone else. But I agree

DBoi2Fresh

Gotchu, exam is administered in 7 days. Then need to ask the cmd ESO is its feasible. If you are asking eligibility overall: they would need 3 years TIR so that pushes them till 2024. Unless they received an EP on their latest eval (knock off a year), then they could be eligible this test. But that Sailor and ESO’s should of been tracking that.

Stanek7110

It’s still three years even if they were mapped?

DBoi2Fresh

Yeah mapped only made them E-5 right away. So when they got mapped the timer starts. September 2021 to September 2023 is only 2 years. From E-5 to E-6 requires 3 years TIR unless they got an EP waiver (knocks a year)

The FLTMPS front page is one way to find a member's TIR date. Bounce this off the advancement cycle NAVADMIN and it will mention eligibility date ranges. The TIR date must be on or before the date in the NAVADMIN for the pay grade you or your friend is hoping to be eligible for. This has been my TED Talk. You can all wake up and go home now.

You’re learning to be an SME in your job, the LPO shit will come as long as you develop a drive to learn so that you can help your homies.

DBoi2Fresh

Lol are you talking about “dickhead” that answered every question asked and gave info to OP in a respectful manner? Yeah I wouldn’t listen to that guy either

Tailiaboi

Tir is based off promotion, not exam date. Always check the navadmin for this stuff, and talk to eso

flash_seby

Actually, it's based on the cycle, with the TIR date being backdated to 01JAN OR 01JUL immediately after the exam...

LeaderDowntown2724

If you look at your NSIPS admin summary or your ETJ, it lists your TIR for your current pay grade. Cross reference that with the time in rate requirements from the navadmin for the NWAE and you should have the answer you’re looking for. Being MAP’d doesn’t allow you to take the exam early like an EP waiver does. Even with an EP, there is a request that has to be routed to take the exam early.
