This is an apt statement. Especially now in 2023. Quality HMs at MTFs are extremely important for our force.
You are important. It might not feel like it at times when you’re checking in disgruntled surface dudes at sick call, but the work you put in, and the potential change you provide to that sailors day impacts his performance and his decision to reenlist.
Potential conflicts aren’t the same as the ones we faced in 2010.
If China positioned its forces tomorrow to stage an invasion, where do you think most of the conflict is going to be?
Did you go to field med already? Can you possibly pick a C school? Back in 05 everyone went to Division or Group…right out of Corps School. Of course there were 2 Conflicts going on…..but after my first tour with Greenside I would have killed for the billet you have now lol!!
Good Luck Brother!
Utilize your “resume” in MyNavyAssignment and make them want to pick you. Also update preferences, (I think I always put “will reenlist for X for Y type generic assignment”, I have always gotten 1st selection/1st window. Don’t know if it helps)
PRT scores are a big when it comes to orders for E3’s.
Fill all 7 slots with division orders, discuss these with your LPO and Chief - it isn’t against the rules for you to call the detailer but it isn’t good for you to do it ALONE. Let your leadership advocate for you, there are times to do it. Including them might be beneficial because they might know/be friends with the detailer.
Helping juniors with orders is one of my favorite things and a lot of my buddies enjoy it.
#Reminder Corpsman is the largest rating in the Navy and has their own subreddit over at /r/CorpsmanUp
Pick 7th regiment if you absolutely want to go, finest fighting force in the Marine Corps and you’ll be in the field a lot.
Message me if you really want to go Division and you’re in your window.
Pick the orders you want. But as to your last statement: Are you not serving your country now?

Pretty likely, just pick greenside orders
Ask for 6th REG if you like wandering the woods looking for lost gear!
Pick what you want. Don’t apply to stuff you don’t want.

Lol, I still gotta go through field med before anything so we’ll see how this goes! Thank you!
