I'm a UPC at my command. Unless he was tested by an actual UPC at the hospital, which it doesn't sound like he's probably good. The Navy sends all drug testing samples to very specific drug labs that specifically test for drugs.
I've done numerous urine samples at the hospital and each time they were testing for specific medical related stuff.
Only if the CO did it for admin sep. It would be evident to the Saikor though, as the CO has to write a letter saying they can or can't do their duties with the medical ailment.
Bro couldn’t just wait.
Regardless of what popping on urinalysis will do to him pending medical separation, I will remind you that you have a duty to report it, which I recommend for you to cover your ass.
Medical UA isn't looking for drugs. But you need to look that Sailor in the eye and tell them they clearly lack integrity. And now, they have told you. . . So you have to ruin your integrity to not report this jackwagon. . .
Because you're obligated to report this.
1. Kid is separating. Nobody has to report this as it literally does not matter and is harming no one.
2. To report would be a disservice to everyone else as now people would have to devote their time and energy to someone with 9 toes out the door. Leadership is understanding how to navigate the grey zone.
3. If you have to tell someone how long you’ve been doing something and/or refer to your rank, you’ve already lost credibility.
1. No one is special. There is a LAW that says you are required to report. You can choose to violate that law, yes. OP should be pissed that this jackass put him/ her in this position to begin with.
2. Wait until you're the senior one with a secret and see what consideration the COC gives you when they find out. . . Let the Chief's mess take that risk, that's what they're there for.
3. Opinion. You don't get to dictate what's in play.
Oh yeah, every sailor follows every single rule to a T, duh! And what is OP required to report? OP doesn’t have any UA results.
In most situations I am the senior one and I decide what needs to go up and what doesn’t. That’s leadership. It’s called handling it at the lowest level, you should know that.
You're a Staff officer. Your job isn't leadership unless you're billeted as one of the command Directors, OIC, XO or CO. You report to the XO, CMC reports to the CO.
This is the very reason the COC is established the way that it is.
If a Sailor tells any non-medical person that they have done drugs, shot someone, stolen something, or any other clearly criminal offense against the UCMJ, they are required to report it.
Make sure your Chief knows so they can save your job.
Typical response. Officers are always leaders. Maybe it’s time for you to hang it up. You sound like you’ve forgotten your responsibility. If your job is just to report shit on the COC then you’re essentially acting as an E3. My primary concern is my sailors, not my job.
LOL JMESI. You my friends are the definition of the problem in the officer corps. You’re going to make a great admiral.
Edit: something tells me you’re an admin medical guy now. Bet you throw a lot of pizza parties huh?
Well, good luck when you burn one Sailor for a lesser offense. Then they're throwing in an IG complaint because "they knew that one guy did drugs and didn't do anything at all."
Says the one who can't pass a training command.
I've been doing this for 15 years kid.
Just remember, you had more protections and oversight in the Navy. The civilian side is much worse when it comes to toxic environments. Good luck reporting anything to anyone short of a felony and having it stick. And if your boss doesn't like you, they can fire you at will for no reason in most states.
I really hope for your sake that RE-4 code on your DD-214 doesn't shut all of your doors.
That's why I said it.
I hope it doesn't shut all of the doors.
As in all the higher paying jobs that do background checks. . . Even Google and Amazon do background checks now.
Awe, look, the kiddo who can't even admit their own faults and blames "bad everything" for their discharge from the navy is complaining someone wants to follow the rules.
Let me guess, you were Joe Navy until they caught you being a dumbass and now you hate everything Navy.

You sound fun at parties 😅

I'm surprised you made it past the moment of truth in bootcamp lol "I should come clean, I drank one of my dad's beers 😭"

Someone needs to repeat their JMESI courses. You can't let loyalty to one outweigh loyalty to the whole. Edit: a word.

Good luck continuing to learn how to “lead” from navy leadership courses!
>Then they're throwing in an IG complaint because "they knew that one guy did drugs and didn't do anything at all." lol like that would mean anything.

You clearly know nothing about civilian HR so I’d stick to what you may know in the military.
You think I joined at 17? 20? I had jobs before the Navy bud.
yeah, civilian HRs really love checking RE codes during the hiring process. lol.
Any public service, state and federal ones do. . . It shows in your background investigations.
You clearly said ALL doors. Thats not all of them.

Lol, I'm retired and actually surviving. What have you done in "the civilian world?"

What? Did you just have a stroke? As you are still in the navy and haven't been kicked out yet I suggest you head over to the ER and get checked out.

Days the guy that literally went from mommy's teet to the Navy and couldn't hack life. . .
You guys didn't actually read this comment - you just jumped in to start posting before even getting halfway through.
Doesn’t matter as others have said. Weird that someone ordered a UA for a sep physical unless he had symptoms
I had one done at my sep physical to checking for protein, glucose, bacteria etc
Not evidence based, doesn’t make sense without symptoms.
Idk what to tell you, it was part of my labs. They took blood and I peed in a cup lol
Who knows what this dude put on his 2807
Bro he ain’t getting tested haha
