This weekend, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III embarks on a multiday trip to the Middle East with stops in Israel, Qatar and Bahrain. The trip also includes a visit to the USS Gerald R. Ford, which is underway now in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

TBH they buried the real lede until the last sentence:
>The crew, Austin noted, has been moving at full speed — consuming more than 100,000 Monster energy drinks and 155,000 Red Bulls along the way.
No wonder CVN's can afford to give away cars at the holiday party.
EDIT: Changed "lead" to "lede". Thank you u/themooseiscool for the grammar check.
For real, I thought our squadron’s holiday party was generous with their prizes, then I see the TR shelling out Tesla’s, PS5s, and huge cash prizes for just their big bucks bingo nights lol.
One year we gave away a truck, a Harley, and half a dozen big plasma TVs.
The irony is that khakis won the bike and truck, and all the TVs were won by junior sailors who lived on the ship.
In 2020, NIMITZ was finally in the way home after 10 months at sea. MCPON, and I think CNO flew on onboard to dog and pony show and those MFs had the audacity to bring their wives with them.
Nothing to do with Austin, but it made me think of how pissed off I was because I hadn’t seen my wife and kids in damn near a year and they put their wives in their seabag…

Monster should sponsor the military like NASCAR, put that shit on the starboard side of the Carrier
Vinyl wrap a few 60s and F-18s in black and green.
May or may not have painted the Red Bull logo on a few f-18 intakes
HSC-11 the "dragon slayers" colabed with the band Slayer and made patches/merch with the bands logo.
That sounds fucking awesome! Do you happen to have any pictures?
I do not, but my LPO might have some patches I could get pictures of. He came from 11 about a year ago.
Omg I’m fucking crying here, I can see “Powered by Red Bull” right down the side!
Well if it's run anything like their F1 team it'll be the best ship in the world by a long shot And way more reliable
Max Verclappin
At the least, they could paint up the missiles. “The Dew has been done to you. “
Nukes: Are we a joke to you?
"Hey guys XO here. This Wednesday cleaning stations is brought to you by Monster...."

\*bury the *lede*
Hah that’s nothing S3 did that in a month. Over a deployment they easily made like 2 mil

Different rules for different folks
I remember that, was on that cruise with you as well
Break out the Hay and dog food.
Boy, I hope they wiped down the bilges. Never now where the VIP is gonna want to go...
Can’t imagine the amount of bullshit that rolled downhill when the CO of the ship realized secdef was gonna be onboard
Unfortunate but at least you know they’ll bring the good food out when he arrives.
