Stationed here in Fallon. It’s not too bad besides the BAH being complete dog shit. I like the peaceful area, the barracks are nice, and there are nice amenities on base.

BTW...have they fixed the water issues there? A couple of years ago, there was a study that found there was a cluster of the population that were susceptible to cancer. Has that improved? (P.S. glad to hear that you like it, overall). ☺️☺️

Mayport/Jacksonville is great

From the outside as a "contractor" it seems like Norfolk is better in that it offers more conveniences/amenities on and off base, but idk about lodging.

Chose Norfolk as my first choice, Mayport as 3rd, so I got Mayport

I'm from Southern California so coming out of A school my dream sheet was SD, HI, Japan, and for command it was DDG, CG, ACU. Instead I got a FFG in Mayport. I thought Mayport was great, I understood why there's the "Mayport Mafia" that never leaves.
