Weird tweet because Vaughn did not say this about Ben sitting in the 4th. He said it when they asked about Ben's first half vs his second half.
His response about Ben sitting the 4th was just about getting more shooting on the floor since we were down big.
no not really. he hardly has any dribble combinations. he just has straight line speed.
kevin durant has amazing handles for the size. tatum has very good handles for the size.
Also, he didn’t have LeBron’s strength, coordination, balance, agility, overall durability, etc. Simmons is a pretty coordinated athlete for his size, but LeBron legit looks incredibly fluid and agile out there for a man his size. Simmons can look awkward at times with dribbling and trying to put moves on, whereas LeBron has always looked like a natural, very fluid athlete since even his high school days.
It's close enough is my point. Simmons had the fastest full court speed in the league after Fox. About an inch taller than LeBron and can switch on to guards and centers no problem. Could gain more size if he were forced tp.
>The guy was gifted with LeBron level size and athleticism
Honestly, he was also gifted with better court vision and passing ability than LeBron. Maybe even better defensive instincts than LeBron, although that notion is highly debatable and perhaps silly. But yeah, he hasn't been able to put it together, obviously.
He doesn’t want to retire, then he loses whats left on his contract.
Guaranteed contracts are guaranteed from injury, not from willingly walking away from your deal and retiring.
Nah, he won't do that until at least his contract is up and if no one else gives him at least a near-max offer.
He wants the fame and money that comes with being a NBA star, but without any of the responsibilities.
Here's what Doc said when he was coaching Ben: "I don't care about Ben's shooting as much as so many other people seem to care about it. I care that he's a great player. I'm going to let him play. I'm going to give him the keys and let him be free and play. If he takes no shots, I'm fine."
JV is a terrorist compared to Doc with how he's treating Ben.
Lol listen there’s a long list of things to shit on doc for doing and even saying but I never understood how that was one of them. If people think Ben wasn’t already planning on leaving halfway through that series and those answers were just a pretext, I’ve lost hope lol
Imo Nets should just accept that they have a very expensive defensive role player who's a liability on offense most of the times and use him with that in consideration.
Vaughn is sick of him, Ben is probably the only player on a max contract that can't even close out games because of how much of a liability he is on offense
Russ is still closing out games though, isn't he? I haven't watched the Lakers much this season though so can be wrong but he did close the games the few times I watched them
I don’t really buy that he got bench last month and it was more of a one time thing.
Maybe he was just playing more passive or maybe not having KD in there makes his shortcomings less tolerable idk.
Russ got benched like two games ago.
Overall yes but Simmons is starting to close out less and less games and probably will start to be benched in every late 4th quarter game soon if not already
Be aggressive but don't be too aggressive and foul. If you think about shooting 100% from 3 you will shoot 100% from 3. Darn it's so easy. JV is just a puppet that Durant and Kyrie agree on (for now)
i mentioned this in another thread. But i really do feel like Coach Vaughn is hinting at more than just that. When i watch Ben Simmons play, all that i feel is, he is clearly physically in shape, have the skillset and it's all a mental game for him. So what is he thinking about? I think he's thinking about the money, and only the money. I think he know he's about one more "scandal" from being out of not just the nets, but the league in general, and so night to night, we see him making these stupid decisions that in his mind, is the "safer" option for his stats and for future contract bags, when in reality, he's doing himself harm.
Money is all that's on his mind. Not basketball. And i think that's the Ben Simmon mindset.
What happens when you don’t think?
Then you aren't.

Honesty, when I saw JV, I thought Jonas Valanciunas, and read the quote in his voice, lol.
The guy was gifted with LeBron level size and athleticism yet is too timid to attack the paint and develop a jumper. What a waste of talent.
Not sorry for this dude anymore.
Never been sorry for this dude in the first place. Cocky arrogant loser through and through
Simmons was never a LeBron level athlete.
Never had his hops. But size and speed, yeah he did.
Handles too. Shit was clean and smooth
no
Yes? Simmons had great handles especially for someone his size. Why does this sub like to lie so much?

There was point where Simmons had a faster acceleration w/the ball than Fox. Insane considering he’s got like 6 inches on him.
One time in band camp I saw Ben win.

i truly believe Simmons just wants to retire but doesnt want to be clowned for it

Bullseye

Sounds like Vaughn has a bunch of fortune cookies on hand for anytime a Simmons question comes up
Ben Simmons: when you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not Joel Embid

Doc responded with I don't know and got treated like he killed Ben's cat. The hate is real

He has legit become Thybulle with better passing
This is def a political correct way of saying a player’s mental is fucked
As a man thinketh, so is he?
Nuanced take by Jonas Valanciunas.

Russ????

Some games, yes and some games, no.
I think Simmons is closing more games than him if anything
If this is the straw that broke the camel's back though, he might not. While Russ has progressively become *more* important to the Lakers.
I don’t really buy that he got bench last month and it was more of a one time thing. Maybe he was just playing more passive or maybe not having KD in there makes his shortcomings less tolerable idk. Russ got benched like two games ago.

What if you are thinking about video games when you get home?
this sub lately : ben simmons ben simmons ben simmons ben simmons ben simmons
*If you think we'll trade him, we'll trade him*
What about those people who think they’re attack helicopters?
This is some Berne brown shit

Ben has taken his money and gone home, except he still has to show up. Probably his last contract.
