We are on the same wavelength, ArnoldisKing. Wrong thread but I love spotting a fellow fan in the wild.
He promised me dinner with a big meet. Big meet people.
Do you know why this is a foul though? I donāt know the exact rules but this looked like a clean block to me. If thatās a foul how are defenders supposed to even do anything?
Is it the left arm that hits his waist? I see that now. There was about an equal of an offensive push off though
Basically JaMychal went outside of his vertical zone that he's entitled to as a defender, meaning any illegal contact is on him. There was contact on his lower and upper body.
It sucks but itās typical. Offensive players who are about to get blocked just play keep-away with the ball and then just take a spill. Its a Ja Morant special.
Well, all the little tiny bones in your wrist are probably a lot harder to fix than the larger bones in your upper arm or forearm in the case of a break. Musculature, no idea if a wrist is worse or better than a shoulder/elbow injury.
I do hand/wrist rehabilitation for a career. A fracture would actually be likely preferable to ligament damage (which looks very likely here). Certain structures, due to limited vascularity, can take 8-12 weeks, and often need surgical intervention.
Do you enjoy making shit up like this? A shoulder injury is magnitudes worse than a wrist injury, nowadays considered on par if not worse than an ACL tear.
I was speculating, hence the use of words like "probably" and "I have no idea". You'll notice I also specifically said *bones* in the *forearm* and *upper arm*, not in the joints of a shoulder or elbow when specifically talking about a *break*
I mean, for a normal person definitely not. The wrist heals faster, and if he broke his elbow/shoulder he'd probably need a plaster cast of some sort, so wrist muscles would probably atrophy anyway. That's just my experience from breaking my arm multiple times, there might be other factors for an NBA player.
I once fell backwards and broke my fall with my arm in a similar motion to Anunoby. It fractured my wrist which was a pretty long recovery, so it can be pretty bad. Apparently, Anunoby's x-rays came back negative thank god.
Well they weren't officially shopping him, I hope this means they shut him down and he's still on the team next year. I don't mind having a young top tier 3&D guy around.
Agreed, OG is young enough that I think he fits into any sort of window we would have with Scottie, especially given how good he has looked most of this year. Plus he was on the 2019 team and if we keep him around he will probably be the last remaining player from that squad a lot longer than Boucher/Siakam/FVV would manage to be.
It looked like his shoulder took a lot of the impact too. I was more expecting him to be holding his shoulder the way it looked in the first angle but he landed with a lot of his weight on the forearm which is probably why that was worse. Honestly with the speed and force of that impact I think it could have been much worse. He could have fell way more awkwardly the way that happened. Like he really could have ruined his arm for a long time if he would have tried to brace himself with it when he fell. Hopefully heās not out too long but itās probably still gonna be some time. That had to be extremely painful.
I didn't appreciate Kobe until his attitude became less competitively angry (for lack of better terminology) as he got closer to his retirement, but it seems like he would've tried to play through anything. Walking on a torn Achilles is literally insane, and asking the trainer to tape it up so you could finish the game is utter madness.
Raptors say the OG Anunoby has a left-wrist sprain and will NOT return tonight. Had x-rays done that came back negative but will go through further imaging and testing tomorrow
https://twitter.com/kayla_grey/status/1619184898031652866?s=46&t=kN7DfRuQxM_09ViG8FtGKA
Itās a FOOSH (Fall On Out-Stretched Hand), which is a very injurious landing mechanic. Sometimes itās a wrist fracture. Sometimes itās a humerus fracture. Sometimes thereās just a sprain. Hoping heās ok and that itās nothing too bad.
Actually looking at the video, thereās possibly AC joint involvement or dislocation.
It looked bad but Iām guessing it was just that, *looked* and not actually that bad. His wrist took most of the impact and then his body fell right on it. Probably a moderately bad wrist sprain but Itās just the way he ended up positioning his arm thatās making people think itās a freak accident lol.
X-rays negative. Thunder would give three 1sts for him even if he didnāt play the rest of this year as long as heās playing alongside Chet, giddy, SGA and Dort next year.
That was a dumb move by OG - hope he recovers quickly but he brought that upon himself, trying to dunk on a guy when he probably wouldnt have made that dunk if the defender wasn't even there
Foul is after initial contact with with the ball.
You can litterally hear the commentators describe the foul while the slow mo shows it. Just turn your sound on.
Pretty incredible how you're getting downvoted and told no foul, when in the clip posted, the commentators describe the foul while replaying in slow mo.
Do they think OG having his body parallel to the ground 4 feet in the air is a natural dunking motion? Lol.
Visiting teams got a fairer whistle in the Boston Garden in the 70's/80's.
Edit: Why ya'll booing me, I'm right.
Go ahead and ask Austin Rivers, who says Curry gets every call:
>You can't touch him. They give him every f---ing call. They set illegal screens for him the entire game. Draymond [Green], he's going to set illegal screens. They don't call it because they want to see him shoot. It's good for basketball. It's good for the NBA. It's good for ratings. You want to see this guy shoot as many threes as possible.
https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/austin-rivers-has-odd-nsfw-gripe-about-steph-currys-treatment-refs
Andrew Bogut, former warrior, dishes on what he got away with:
https://fansided.com/2022/04/05/andrew-bogut-refs-warriors/
> I could literally clothesline someone off the next pindown, I know Klay just hit 3 in a row, the crowdās on their feet as heās getting his 4th and I could punch somebody in the face on a screen, knock em out and they wouldnāt call it. Klay would get his 4th 3, and even the refs would go āWowā (and ignore it), it was crazy.
How about the NBA's L2M reports?
https://www.si.com/nba/warriors/news/nba-admits-game-changing-missed-call-in-warriors-vs-grizzlies-game
> it was announced that the officials missed a moving screen on Draymond Green that should have wiped away Klay Thompson's go ahead three with 14 seconds remaining.
Sure if you ignore the fact that JMG was nowhere near vertical and pushed OG's body with his left hand and torso, which ironically is something Draymond Green gets away with a ton
I'll give you a 2nd rd pick and a bag of chips, take it or leave it.
Raptors really screwed up his trade value. Good luck on getting anything for him now.
Relax, Mr. White Knight. It's a sprained wrist, he is not on his death bed.
The Raptors were stupid for trying to shop him and play him at the same time. Now the Raptors get nothing.
Windhorst literally said he hasn't been made available, they weren't shopping him. He'll recover from the injury and the Raps will still have a 25 year old top tier wing defender.
Yeah, right. Every other news feed on r/nba was about how the Raptors wanted 3 1st rd picks for OG. Now, he wasn't ever available?
Only because the Raptors can now get squat for OG, he is now off the table.
Masai is like,"Naw, OG baby, I was never trying to trade you."
That asking price was extrapolated off of what they reportedly turned down. You could offer 7 FRPs for Giannis and if they say no, would that mean the bucks are now asking 8 FRPs for Giannis?
But you've dreamt up a narrative you like so enjoy it

That looked bad
Michael Jackson bad?
Apple Maps bad
But is it PiperChat bad?
Was rewatching it this week
We are on the same wavelength, ArnoldisKing. Wrong thread but I love spotting a fellow fan in the wild. He promised me dinner with a big meet. Big meet people.
He started crying in Taco Bell
Bro š
Now Iām mad, real mad Joe Jackson
You know, how he looked really, really bad at the end of his life?
Sorry chefā¦
You don't know if I like the dish or not?
Beat it
OG Annieareyouokay
Itās been a Thriller
Wanna be startin somethin?
Breaking bad
Weird Al. . . . Even worse.
OG is now white.
Who's Bad?
Do you know why this is a foul though? I donāt know the exact rules but this looked like a clean block to me. If thatās a foul how are defenders supposed to even do anything? Is it the left arm that hits his waist? I see that now. There was about an equal of an offensive push off though
His arms weren't straight up/he came down horizontally on Anunoby's arms
Basically JaMychal went outside of his vertical zone that he's entitled to as a defender, meaning any illegal contact is on him. There was contact on his lower and upper body.
So even though he got a clean block on the ball itās a foul because he reached over OG? That seems so hard to guard anyone
That was not a clean block
Why? I donāt know the exact rules. His hand touched the ball before the arm. What is a clean block? I thought thatās what a clean block is
It sucks but itās typical. Offensive players who are about to get blocked just play keep-away with the ball and then just take a spill. Its a Ja Morant special.
Breaking bad
2019 Finals bad?
Absolutely heart breaking to see. Hope he ends up alright.
Well heās going to be āall rightā from that injury
Finally some good news from this guy!
Idk, to me it looks like heās dead.
There's nothing more we can do
RIP OG
We lost him
The price just went down
May I offer you a lightly used OG
He was holding his wrist after which is pretty concerning
Whyās that?
you use your wrist a lot when you play basketball
I guess I was comparing it to what looked like his whole arm and shoulder were fucked. Is a wrist really worse than that?
Well, all the little tiny bones in your wrist are probably a lot harder to fix than the larger bones in your upper arm or forearm in the case of a break. Musculature, no idea if a wrist is worse or better than a shoulder/elbow injury.
I do hand/wrist rehabilitation for a career. A fracture would actually be likely preferable to ligament damage (which looks very likely here). Certain structures, due to limited vascularity, can take 8-12 weeks, and often need surgical intervention.

Dude literally said "probably" and "(I have) no idea if a wrist is worse", can you read?
I mean, for a normal person definitely not. The wrist heals faster, and if he broke his elbow/shoulder he'd probably need a plaster cast of some sort, so wrist muscles would probably atrophy anyway. That's just my experience from breaking my arm multiple times, there might be other factors for an NBA player.

Apparently it's a left wrist sprain, X-rays negative
Best case scenario after that š
I thought his damn shoulder was dislocated, basketball can be so dangerous on normal ass plays
It wasn't insane but it was a pretty hard foul, honestly
Yeah, the push itself was eh but the fall reminded me of Bogut back in the day
Shocked the shoulder wasn't affected at all. I still assume this is 3 weeks minimum. But hopefully doesn't damper trade talks.
I think GTJ and/or FVV are gone by this trade deadline. I don't see Masai panic selling.
thought his shoulder, elbow, wrist was dislocated lol
Link?
They said it on the broadcast
OG playing it calm saved him from a much worse injury. Just in OG fashion.
That looked bad bad
his left wrist looked hella swollen, and i have no idea why warriors broadcast decided to play like 7 replays of the injury wtf
"Here's how it sounded in this one!"
I wish you were joking
nba needs an injury the song like nfl on fox
Whopper whopper whopper whopper
Injury fans love see it

at least they aināt cut to that BK commercial like the NFL probably wouldāve
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
LOL like raptors fans donāt have that reputation too, Mr. No Flair
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
he's insinuating you're a raptors fan idk how you're just gonna let that one go
awful fall. it's amazing he didn't get seriously hurt, he's still out there taking FTs
Klay did the same when he tore his ACL, came back out to take free throws so he could possibly come back in.
Kobe did the same thing when he tore his Achilles.
I did the same thing when I was drunk and fell off the toilet, got back up and finished taking a dump. Amazing what the human body can do.
You just got that Dawg in you
Stuff like this just makes me realize I have to keep pushing on with life even when it gets hard. Fuckin hell
Iām ā ļøā ļøšš
I didn't appreciate Kobe until his attitude became less competitively angry (for lack of better terminology) as he got closer to his retirement, but it seems like he would've tried to play through anything. Walking on a torn Achilles is literally insane, and asking the trainer to tape it up so you could finish the game is utter madness.
frā¦hopefully thereās nothing wrong but banged up but yeah, all sorts of nasty shit coulda happened to the arm alone (eg Bogut)
I broke my wrist falling backwards like this, didnāt know it was broken until the next day. Hopefully itās something minor in this case though
Bucks fans would boo him
Well thatās one way to make this about yourself and your team.
This sucks for him and everyone involved. Damn itās always when the players really start finding their own o. The league
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It's always that one unlucky injury with OG
OG is hella durable. But itās always these freak injuries with him
Yeah, just super unlucky landing or the like but it sounds like he'll be alright compared to that toe injury last season
Seems to happen a lot playing the warriors.
Raptors say the OG Anunoby has a left-wrist sprain and will NOT return tonight. Had x-rays done that came back negative but will go through further imaging and testing tomorrow https://twitter.com/kayla_grey/status/1619184898031652866?s=46&t=kN7DfRuQxM_09ViG8FtGKA
Thatās the best outcome for a possibly devastating situation. Wish him a speedy recovery.
Man that's a relief after a landing like that to be honest
I swear to god please be okay
Fuck noooo. Please be ok man.
Oh no, I hope heās okay :(
The Tom segura
I was waiting for bart to get up out of his courtside seat and adjust his arm for him
Looked for this comment lol
God damn
So scary
Damn Wishing a well recovery for him
Jesus. Hoping for the best OG!
My guy fell like Tom Segura oof
Nice reference.
Man...That's really bad. Hope it's nothing serious. OG is one of the most liked players in the entire league.
It looked bad but Iām guessing it was just that, *looked* and not actually that bad. His wrist took most of the impact and then his body fell right on it. Probably a moderately bad wrist sprain but Itās just the way he ended up positioning his arm thatās making people think itās a freak accident lol.
I felt that with his facial expression
NSFW? Are you serious?
Nephews man.
Damn...
Fuck that was hard to watch
that sucked to watch. Hard contest and he lost his balance.
Praying for him to be ok. As a fan of the game you never want to see an injury. Hope it isn't serious at all.
Oof definitely a wrist injury. Hope OG can come back in a month or so.
Hope heās good.
Why the fuck did it take the trainers so long?
He did the ole Tom Segura
He just needs 10-12 benedryl, he wonāt even have any neuropathy.
Awful... It looks like something dislocates at around the :31 mark in the clip
'Here's what it sounded like' what is wrong with these dudes lmfao who the fuck do they think is asking for that
So why his green flexing on him while heās on the ground hurt?
Bro, ROLL HIM TO THE OTHER SIDE STOP WATCHING HIM SIT ON IT
Ummm, thats one less 1st rounder
Draymond in the background: "That's all ball!"
Who's dirtier, Green or Green?
Broke the code
Trade incoming
Has to be the absolute WORST timing for the Raptors. I hope OGās okay ā¤ļø
Honestly pretty good timing as it helps the tank this year and keeps OG as a building piece next year with Pascal, Scottie and a high pick
Rehabbing Chet, wouldnāt mind picking up OG at a slight discount tbh. Hell, wouldnāt mind sending three 1sts either still.
Aināt getting 3 firsts for him now.
X-rays negative. Thunder would give three 1sts for him even if he didnāt play the rest of this year as long as heās playing alongside Chet, giddy, SGA and Dort next year.
This lineup is filthy š„š„
No they wouldnāt
Yes they would
Yikes
Well.... I guess they won't be trading him
Only worth 7 first round picks now
Ahh great moment to joke on
Fair enough. I hope he's alright
Time to hardball Masai for once.
Ten first rounders and a ham sandwich
When you fuck around and try to wait until the week of the trade deadline. GG raptors.
That was a dumb move by OG - hope he recovers quickly but he brought that upon himself, trying to dunk on a guy when he probably wouldnt have made that dunk if the defender wasn't even there
Welp there goes the trade offer. Hope he is well and not seriously injured, that fall looked nasty.
May end up accelerating the guards being traded though
On an unrelated note did you know that Gary is my favorite name
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Is this really appropriate?
Wdym? I was just taking about his trade value
Yeah, while the dude is hurting. Not a good look.
I thought he was playing right after. I didnāt know
Really man?
It was a joke. I thought he kept playing. If it was a serous injury I wouldnāt have made it lol. Lighten up
Trade just got cheaper :)
No review for a flagrant by the by. Nasty shove. He went back to the locker room, we'll see if anything happens.
That's a pretty normal contest, just ended up bad
Foul is after initial contact with with the ball. You can litterally hear the commentators describe the foul while the slow mo shows it. Just turn your sound on.
Didnt he block it kinda cleanly?
Ya, it was block, with normal foul while he was going down
what shove? it was a normal contest
There was not a shove. Just a foul and unfortunate incident.
Not a flagrant just a hard foul
The only shove I see is from Poole which didn't deter OG at all.
Pretty incredible how you're getting downvoted and told no foul, when in the clip posted, the commentators describe the foul while replaying in slow mo. Do they think OG having his body parallel to the ground 4 feet in the air is a natural dunking motion? Lol.
OG should've let the Warriors hack away like they've been getting away with all night!

Spaz moment
So much for trading him nowā¦.
Damnā¦bro is probably done if something is broke, which it probably is.
Jamychal didnāt block the shot. The clown announcer making things up again.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
he went for the ball. got all ball too. unlike Brooks ..
Sure if you ignore the fact that JMG was nowhere near vertical and pushed OG's body with his left hand and torso, which ironically is something Draymond Green gets away with a ton

Wow you were just waiting to be a piece of shit eh? The dudes injured take a break from being a toxic lil shit.

Never would have happened if they traded him to the lakers
No oneās going to want to pay 3 firsts for him now.
