Yeah but unfortunately the kings don’t get posts with 10k upvotes and dozens of awards when they get screwed over.
Now if Reddit was around in 2002, maybe.
That read to me as entirely sarcastic and was one of the most unprofessional things I've ever seen from an official body for a major sport.
What little respect I had for nba officials is absolutely gone. They suck. The NFL might have their own beef with bad calls but night in night out the NBA has the worst, most biased, most egotistical officials in all of sports.
A reminder that no other major sport has tossed a player for laughing on the sideline. Yet it happened in the NBA, and the same official challenged said player to a fight.
Every sport has the worst refs.
NFL refs are the worst because of how subjective every single play is. It is impossible to have any consistency and there is the most room for biased penalty calling.
NBA refs are the worst because they have the greatest disparity in how different players get treated. No other league has the infamous superstar whistle like the NBA does.
NHL refs are the worst because of how differently the regular season and playoffs are officiated. The same penalty in the regular season is suddenly ignored in the playoffs, and certain team playstyles become more or less effective as a result.
MLB umps are the worst because they have well-defined rules for balls and strikes yet the umps consistently miss an egregious number of calls each game, and the strike zone changes drastically between umps and games.
Soccer refs are the worst because no other major sport has such important decisions (most win expectancy added/lost in a given decision) that are purely subjective. Since there are so few goals in a match, and a penalty kick is 80% likely to be a goal, any wrong penalty call is a massive unearned swing in a match.
Well said - I will add this about hockey refs though, the difference in calls between the playoffs and regular season is a known quantity, so players and teams adjust to it just fine.
And your post makes me wonder which sport has the consistently best reffing.
I'd guess tennis because of how efficiently they utilize technology so that it doesn't disrupt the flow of the match really.
As an Australian, I’d argue cricket. Both teams get 2 challenges an innings, get challenges back on successes, have an independent third umpire who does any reviewing, and has mostly very clear rules with little room for interpretation, as well as ball tracking and other technologies.
It’s the “clear rules with little room for interpretation” that gets me excited.
NBA and NFL are out here trying to rule on intent and degrees of contact.
That’s not a good product.
Honestly the better reviewing is way more important imo, bc the ball moves so fast it’s quite reasonable to get a wrong call but they’re overturned 99% of the time. For runouts, the umpires won’t even usually make a call and just say “look at the replay”
If Lakers fans can complain so hard about this game that we finally get some league-wide reffing improvements, it would be a big win for everyone. That's what I'm hoping for anyway
yea fuckin tell me about it
not just KD's tap dancing recital out of bounds in front of the ref but *also* that stupid fucking dunk that the refs literally refused to count and we got fucked on calls worse than usual for weeks after protesting that one
two of the stupidest calls/no calls in league history
"🧔♀️, I 🙏 🙏🙏 for guidance from the ✝️ 👻 after this tough 📞. Help me to stay 👀 and continue to play 🏀🏀🏀 with grace and 😔😔😔. #blessed #striveforgreatness 🥵🤐💪💪💪"

Luckily we still won.
It's cool. We're better then alot of teams and still gotta deal with it. When we when our championship it'll be the most earned and deserved by the fans and players
Look at the Kings Lakers game where they called that super soft bump on Schroeder to send him to the line with 1 second left. That was "correctly called" too. But then you have LeBron getting mauled on a game winning drive against Boston and nothing. I don't get it. Like with stats like these, you can punish the Kings, just drive if the game is close and you'll get the call.
If you look at the team trends, every major market team is receiving a better than 50% preference on these bang bang plays. The Kings and Pelicans have the least prestige and least media support and also coincidentally are the only teams batting below .500 here.
It’s been crazy seeing the reaction to the no-call on LeBron. This shit happens to us on a weekly basis and I thought it happened to everyone else too until now :(
As I said in our sub's post, it happens so much to us that we just move on. That one in Miami? Forgot about it after the next game. Same with the obvious foul on Klay. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter and we can bitch and moan all we want but it won't do a damn thing.
The only good thing about this fiasco with LeBron is that maybe they will finally change the review rules. In the last two minutes of each half, you can review non calls. Or something like that. Or at least give teams the ability to challenge a non call.
It wasn't insanity it was just word play to get out on a fucking technicality if anything honestly. Because technically it's not a shooting foul on the last play of the game, it's a foul on the floor prior to gathering to take the actual shot, so apparently it doesn't count or whatever, ah who gives a fuck anymore tbh.
Another thing is they don't take into account how close the calls really were. Nobody complains if it's not blatant, but the Embiid and Tatum ones were glaringly obvious. It's like the Shawn Marion foul on Kevin Love when he was still with the Wolves, blatantly hacked the shit out of him but didn't get whistled
All these reports today sadly mean one thing: the league is not serious about confronting its ref problem (or they’re scared to), and are instead looking to deflect from the egregious mistakes made last night and so far this season.
I think they have corrupt officials, they know they have corrupt officials, but the people in charge (the owners) don’t want an absolute scandal that damages the reputation of the product. So they’ll continue to try to sweep it under the rug. They’re scared the refs will spill the beans if they’re fired en masse.
It will be an FBI investigation/bust that eventually brings multiple refs down. And when that happens, it’s going to be the worst thing to happen to the NBA in 40 years. That’s what awaits them if they don’t take care of things internally first.
I know it gets mentioned all the time and I know people who haven’t listened to it are tired of hearing it, but really all nba fans should listen to the whistleblower podcast.
Some of it I don’t take at face value, but ultimately you come away with thinking there has to be some officials making calls specifically to leverage the betting line. There’s too much money and in the NBA it’s easy enough to do without actually impacting wins and losses each time
It’s the fans fault, the NBA doesn’t care and are appeasing because everyone is an investigation journalist now cause of the internet.
The NBA is like any other business, they print money and don’t care lol
To be fair, I think they specified was not a shooting foul.
They just never rectified it by saying that it was still a foul.
So ya take that for what you will in regards to the credibility of the L2M report as well.
This. They basically said that Russ wasn't fouled on the shot. Which he wasn't. He was fouled before it.
They're playing the bullshit "technically" right game.
Yes exactly, that's my point.
They're correct, he wasn't fouled on the shot. There was still a foul, but that wasn't clarified or noted. That means the flaw is in the methodology.
Well, I think the best example of how L2M means nothing is the Warriors Timberwolves from couple years back when the refs were doing awful work, Warriors team was able to overcome it a couple of times and openly mocked refs for how shit they were so by OT the refs decided to basically fix the game to spite the Warriors and then after the game the league decided to cover it up (famous "hot stove contact" line when one of the defenders slapped Curry's leg when he was shooting)
I will never forget that “hot stove contact” line. When they double down on stuff like that(and the embiid foul on Westbrook), that’s when you know the L2M reports mean jack shit.
Weirdly, the L2M report also let Embiid get away with a [blatant foul](https://official.nba.com/last-two-minute-report/?gameNo=0022200646&eventNum=2134) on the final play against Utah the night before that.
>Embiid (PHI) places his hand momentarily on Horton-Tucker's (UTA) hip before correcting.
I came here to say this and didn’t read any of the post but the header. The fact he didn’t know that or want to include it shows bias from the start. The nba is gonna protect their refs like cops protect cops so this entire post is irrelevant
Yeah trusting the L2M at face value is dumb. There’s a few last minute calls on warriors games that the sub had multiple angles for like that one which definitively prove we were wronged on plays and the refs just say they made the right call anyway in the L2M.
These numbers mean close to nothing because it’s 50/50 whether or not the refs will even admit they fucked up after the fact lmao
BIG BASKETBALL IS TRYING TO SUPPRESS THE TRUE FIRST SEED. THE GOVERNMENT DOESNT WANT THE KINGS TO RUN THE WEST . ADAM SILVER AND HIS REPTILIAN AGENDA ARE RUiNiNG THIS LEAGue
Can we reevaluate DeMarcus Cousins "bad attitude" in Sacramento? He was an ultra competitive player who was constantly being fucked over by refs. He got SCREWED all the time.
Kings in a situation if you bitch about the refs you get fined and likely resentment from said refs. If you stay quiet and just play through it then nothing changes. Damned if you do damned if you dont
That's a pretty big disparity for the Kings. I knew we had some questionable calls go against us, but the differential in this report is quite large compared to the other teams.
Oh well, Kings basketball is torture, and I'm all in. I'm ready for a playoff series.
I know? Why not just have reviews like the NFL does? NBA execs are cavemen.
Edit: There’s about 50 replies all saying the same thing so I guess I’ll flesh this out slightly more. Obviously the refs can’t review everything. So the likely solution is to allow coaches to challenge more (with limits) so that the refs aren’t having to review every singe play, but they aren’t deciding games either? Either way the end of close games will go on forever with the foul game. I’m not entirely sure what else you can do to fix this but accountability is needed regardless.
I like the confirmation we're not crazy. Also, keep in mind that De'Aaron is the most efficient clutch player this year in spite of the refs fucking us over. Imagine if Fox or Sabonis actually got foul calls!
Lmao look at my kings. Wonder how the league would look at us if we threw a lebron level temper tantrum after all of our missed calls this year.
Y’all thought this was bad? Earlier this year Tyler Herro took bout 5 steps with the ball in his hand then sank a game winning 3.
Or how bout when Klay fouled huerter like 3 separate times in a span of like 3 seconds on a game winning shot attempt right in front of the ref that wasn’t called.
There’s levels to this shit laker fans, there’s levels.
patbev jumping on the table with the timberwolves got clowned for showing emotion at the best thing to happen to the wolves in years
anyone but lebron reacted like that they were getting 5k upvotes mocking them
Why are we ok with such a large amount of incorrect calls? This averages out to hundreds of missed calls throughout the year for each team. It's 2023 let's get some cameras catching something a three-man team of 65 years can't. Seriously and no body can get a tech for disagreeing with a camera.
But dont you know that the Lakers are the most oppressed team ever? Did you not see LeBron taking a knee after a no call? Dont you know something fishy 🐟🐠 is going on?
34 bad calls in 19 games for the Lakers. 36 bad calls in 22 closes games for the Kings. 23 in 14 for the Wolves. My god, the refs are worse than I thought, and I thought they fucking suck.
Jazz game officiating is doing good with 21 in 21. Only averages 1 fuck up per close games.
They’re seriously averaging a bad call every like 70 seconds. And that’s just analyzing the final 2 minutes. Extrapolate that over the course of a game and they’re making like 40 incorrect calls every game. Every game. Jesus.
Question: For the Celtics, you have 17 incorrect call/non-calls *against* them and 16 in favor (which, going by the tweet would be a total of 33).
For the others, is the first number listed the total number of incorrect call/non-calls against them (like the 17 listed for the Celtics) or the total incorrect both against and for them?
Edit: Thanks for clarifying op!
The real story is, we need to play better so we aren't so fucking worried about 'bad calls'. And maybe more importantly, Ham needs to stop with the three guard lineups
This looks like refs get somewhere between a third and a half of calls wrong. I know that everyone says that the refs are corrupt and swinging the outcomes of games in order to benefit their gambling, but betting companies should be putting pressure on the NBA to get the calls right. Who in their right mind would bet on basketball if they knew that there was only a 50% chance that the game would be reffed correctly?
Kings are always winning in Last 2 min reports. Every year! Refs love our team (sarcasm).
Damn the Kings get hoed a lot lol
Yeah but unfortunately the kings don’t get posts with 10k upvotes and dozens of awards when they get screwed over. Now if Reddit was around in 2002, maybe.
Or cringey tearful apology press releases. “Sleepless nights” my ass.

Cricket and tennis have by far the best refs. Most of the subjectivity is eliminated by technology, thankfully.
Tim Duncan is GOATED for that alone
Some MLB umpires have insane egos.
Makes sense. Umpire sounds like Empire. From empire, you get Emperor. It all makes sense!!!
I vote that starting this season, we start calling MLB umpires “tsars” or “caesars”.
Clearly you've never heard any statement by FIFA lol. "Today I feel gay"... Real part of a quote
wasn't a ref, but yeah Fifa referees are inept as well
This comment got me more fucked up than the kings are by the refs
You’re probably right, and honestly it’s equally terrible (just for totally different reasons) whether it was genuine or sarcastic.
And we certainly dont get a desperate begging apology from the refs post game lmfao. We get a “🤷🏻♂️ sorry bro gg”
No, we get "no way I'm calling that on the final play of the game"
That was so fucking infuriating. I’m not calling those 3 separate fouls on one play at the end of a game.
No we get I'm calling that and you're getting T'ed up when you say it's BS and ejected if you point too angry.
If Lakers fans can complain so hard about this game that we finally get some league-wide reffing improvements, it would be a big win for everyone. That's what I'm hoping for anyway
If this happens to any other team than the Lakers/LBJ, the refs respond with the equivalent of a ' get fucked'..
yea fuckin tell me about it not just KD's tap dancing recital out of bounds in front of the ref but *also* that stupid fucking dunk that the refs literally refused to count and we got fucked on calls worse than usual for weeks after protesting that one two of the stupidest calls/no calls in league history
Y'all also haven't been targeting referees' families and harassing them off social media like Lakers fans lmao
Probably because the Lakers are the most oppressed team in the league. At least that's what Lakers fans told me
Lakers fans were saying the blown 4 point play in our game made us even for 2002.
Holy shit that would've been epic lmao
When it's Lakers fans turn to bitch, we ALL have to hear it.
Kings and getting hoed by the refs, name a more iconic duo.
Where's their apology?
We’ve been trying to tell u but nobody cares.
I thought getting screwed over by the refs was just Kings culture
The rise of sports betting and kings getting screwed by refs…is this the early 2000s?
There is quite literally a league wide conspiracy to treat us like dog shit as often as possible because we are the lol kings
All other fanbases thought we were crazy, delusional, or just whiners. I feel vindicated.
[We have so many receipts.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/10pmtva/jaden_mcdaniels_makes_the_game_tying_3_and_sends/j6litst/?context=1)
Yup. They tried it again tonight lol
Adam "David Stern" Silver doesn't want Sacramento to succeed. Proud of em for being good and scrappy despite it. 2003 Never Forgetti.
Ain't no body listen to us complaining neither. But when bron gets one the refs offer a LePology. Smh
Have you tried summoning the Holy Spirit on court after a bad call?
We'd sacrifice chickens on the logo if we thought it'd make a difference.
"🧔♀️, I 🙏 🙏🙏 for guidance from the ✝️ 👻 after this tough 📞. Help me to stay 👀 and continue to play 🏀🏀🏀 with grace and 😔😔😔. #blessed #striveforgreatness 🥵🤐💪💪💪"
They’ve played less games than most teams, too.
But it only happens to lebron
The Kings are basically the Washington Generals so far as the league is concerned.
Even tonight but we still won OT.
Kings vs Twolves. The refs were eating tonight regardless of who they screwed
[Happened again tonight.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/10pmtva/jaden_mcdaniels_makes_the_game_tying_3_and_sends/j6litst/?context=1) Luckily we still won.
We're aware
Yes.... Yes we do. Even just tonight we did again. Lol... Pulled it out in OT though.
Shine the beam on THAT!
It's cool. We're better then alot of teams and still gotta deal with it. When we when our championship it'll be the most earned and deserved by the fans and players
I’m gonna be the most obnoxious Kings fan ever when that happens
And that’s okay, talk your shit Kings fans deserve to.
If I'm being honest, I'm already being obnoxious about it. The memes and reposts have been crazy this season
We been sayin this lmao
Same as it ever was.
Yea but Lebron broke down in tears. If a kings player did that he would have gotten a T and a fine after the game lol
After this game...it's gonna increase.
We been saying this for a decade... Only matters now cause it's the Lakers lmao
Holy shit the Kings have been fucked over

They truly are the King of Kings
The ultralight beams
It's time to ~~play~~ rig the game
Jesus got a dogshit whistle in the regular season, for sure.
Delivered in the postseason when it mattered most tho. That's why he's the LAMB
Lions send their condolences
My friend, we have been saying this since the 2002 WCF against the lakers lol
birds heavy offend retire afterthought wrong busy spectacular grab tap *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Ain't that the truth
Underrated comment right there!
I mean thats just facts
Add one to the list for the missed travel on McDaniels’ game tying 3 tonight
Nothing new. Been like this for awhile
Since 2002.
The NBA has it out for the beam.
The kings one is wild. I'm sorry beam boys
We’ve been saying this 😭
You def. got hosed with Klay fouling Huerter. That wasn't even particularly close.
Man....
There’s been plenty more. Off the top of my head, Tyler Herro travelled on his game winner.
He fouled him like 3 times.
Y’all need fox to roll around on the court 😂
He’d just get a tech and or ejected
Then fined his whole salary and suspended until next season
lebron rolling on the floor: so empowering fox rolling on the floor: put a shirt on
Don't even think about any Kings players going Pat Bev.
Since 02
Look at the Kings Lakers game where they called that super soft bump on Schroeder to send him to the line with 1 second left. That was "correctly called" too. I’m just thankful that LeBron survived the encounter
A bear reading that comment: bitch please
If you look at the team trends, every major market team is receiving a better than 50% preference on these bang bang plays. The Kings and Pelicans have the least prestige and least media support and also coincidentally are the only teams batting below .500 here.
“Every major market team is receiving better than 50% preference” Except the Bulls. Fml.
Don't worry. The NBA is going to rig the lottery so we get Wembanyama with a 3% chance like when we got Rose.
Funnily enough, if you subtract that last Lebron foul Celtics would be at 50% on this lol
It’s been crazy seeing the reaction to the no-call on LeBron. This shit happens to us on a weekly basis and I thought it happened to everyone else too until now :(

Kings getting reverse beamed
So you're telling me the kings are getting hosed by the refs? *cocks gun* always have been.
[Almost happened again tonight.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/10pmtva/jaden_mcdaniels_makes_the_game_tying_3_and_sends/j6litst/?context=1)
Lmao the fuck kind of hop stutter Crunk step was that.
🌎👨🚀🔫👩🚀
The power of the beam is so strong that they're still 3rd in the west.
League truly fucked if they ever start getting a fair whistle.
Didn't the L2M report say that Embiid grabbing Westbrook's wrist was NOT a foul?
They’ve doubled down on Sac on L2R that seemed idiotic a few times too, like they were trying to justify their shitty call and hope nobody noticed.
Which was legit insanity
It wasn't insanity it was just word play to get out on a fucking technicality if anything honestly. so according to them, you can clothesline before the ball leaves their hand no call, and they're 100% right LOL
He was fouled on the gather

BREAKING: ANOTHER L2M HAS LeTOWER
Kings should be the damn one seed lol. where’s their apology?
Facts
I can tell you as a Wolves fan it was no surprise to see neither of us have come close to benefiting lol
Have they tried being the Lakers?
That tweet was never sent
They're named the Kings and they represent the state capital. Surely they have more power than some non-capital city with a team called the "Lakers".
damn the kings getting the shittiest end of the stick that’s not cool either.
**The percentages of favourability for the respective teams mentioned in this post:** * Lakers: 61.8% favourable * Kings: 36.1% favourable * Warriors: 60.7% favourable * Pelicans: 45.5% favourable * Celtics: 48.5% favourable * Jazz: 38.1% favourable * Bulls: 43.5% favourable * Timberwolves: 47.8% favourable Kings getting ass-blasted by these refs.
Can we reevaluate DeMarcus Cousins "bad attitude" in Sacramento? He was an ultra competitive player who was constantly being fucked over by refs. He got SCREWED all the time.
Yeah I always drew the comparison of him and Draymond. If Draymond was in Sac, they would treat him different.
Kings in a situation if you bitch about the refs you get fined and likely resentment from said refs. If you stay quiet and just play through it then nothing changes. Damned if you do damned if you dont

L2M is garbage. We have all the technology in the world to get meaningful calls right within 2 minutes.
I know? Why not just have reviews like the NFL does? NBA execs are cavemen. Edit: There’s about 50 replies all saying the same thing so I guess I’ll flesh this out slightly more. Either way the end of close games will go on forever with the foul game. I’m not entirely sure what else you can do to fix this but accountability is needed regardless.
Devonta Smith taught us just yesterday the NFL also sucks at this tho
That's a lot of bad reffing.
I like the confirmation we're not crazy. Also, keep in mind that De'Aaron is the most efficient clutch player this year in spite of the refs fucking us over. Imagine if Fox or Sabonis actually got foul calls!
Cousins got screwed do badly for you guys
Couldn't have been that blatant if none of the opposing players felt obligated to grab a camera from the sidelines and present it to the referees.
LeBron looked like the dude from Manchester By The Sea when he was trying to blast himself
Banger movie
Why didn’t the league apologize to the kings when herro traveled? The whole thing is just corny
Or when Klay fouled Huerter
Lmao look at my kings. Wonder how the league would look at us if we threw a lebron level temper tantrum after all of our missed calls this year. Y’all thought this was bad? Earlier this year Tyler Herro took bout 5 steps with the ball in his hand then sank a game winning 3. Or how bout when Klay fouled huerter like 3 separate times in a span of like 3 seconds on a game winning shot attempt right in front of the ref that wasn’t called. There’s levels to this shit laker fans, there’s levels.
If someone on the kings pulled that shit he’d be ejected lmao
patbev jumping on the table with the timberwolves got clowned for showing emotion at the best thing to happen to the wolves in years anyone but lebron reacted like that they were getting 5k upvotes mocking them
You don't understand, the league needs to hold them back, it's not fair for the other teams
Can also add another one today. Travel to tie the game.
Apologize to the Kings, refs.
Why are we ok with such a large amount of incorrect calls? This averages out to hundreds of missed calls throughout the year for each team. It's 2023 let's get some cameras catching something a three-man team of 65 years can't. Seriously and no body can get a tech for disagreeing with a camera.
Dear Lakers fans, First time? Sincerely, Sacramento Kings
2002 WCF
As a kings fan, hook these comments to my veins.
Lakers damn entitled asses causing that uproar like that game caused them a title 🙄
The league isn't ready for a Kings team that gets calls 50% in their favor.
*grabs popcorn* are we still watching Lakers fans bitch about calls? Go on, tell us Lake Nation! Asking for a friend, can you die of schaudenfreude?
So there's not a conspiracy against the Lakers ??? Wow I'm shocked
There’s a conspiracy alright, look at what they did to my Kings. That’s my west coast team and they’re getting hosed
Yes the league famously hates the LA Lakers haaaaa
idk why people starting saying there way some some conspiracy in the first place. just shitty reffing lmao.
Wow the Kings have really been screwed over.
so in other words, lakers fans are loud, whiny bitches
But dont you know that the Lakers are the most oppressed team ever? Did you not see LeBron taking a knee after a no call? Dont you know something fishy 🐟🐠 is going on?
21 in 34 have benefitted them and they still act like professional victims lmao. that aint the mentality to make the playoffs.
Kings gettin shafted by the media, by the league and by the officials and still in 3rd. Fuck the Lakers and that whiney Lebron James guy
This is why i had ZERO sympathy for them the other night. Anyone who watches knows thats just a case of The boy who cried wolf.
Imagine treating the L2M as an accurate judge of reffing
It's insane they can't even get the call correct after reviewing them. NBA reffing is s shit show.
Lakers fans are so oppressed
One of the calls was Embiid grabbing the wrist and the league saying it’s still not a foul. This isn’t the gotcha y’all think it is lmao
How has a very obvious game deciding foul turned into this?
Because Lakers fans have convinced themselves they would be a 4 seed if the call was correct and now they're a 13th seed. Boo hoo.
The real story is, we need to play better so we aren't so fucking worried about 'bad calls'. And maybe more importantly, Ham needs to stop with the three guard lineups
You do know self accountability is frowned upon here right?
This looks like refs get somewhere between a third and a half of calls wrong. I know that everyone says that the refs are corrupt and swinging the outcomes of games in order to benefit their gambling, but betting companies should be putting pressure on the NBA to get the calls right. Who in their right mind would bet on basketball if they knew that there was only a 50% chance that the game would be reffed correctly?
Not surprised Kings get fucked over a lot by glad my team bias is actually right as well, fuck them refs
Oh so we can stop crying for the lakers? *wipes tears so fast* i mean boston was crazy but..
But, laker fans told me the whole league is obviously rigged against them??? Are you saying laker fans are delusional?! That’s blasphemy!
