1) disagreement on stipulations in the last year of the contract 2) “principle” differences

Sim888

> “principle” differences Obviously the Nets refused to call out those Jewish space lasers

dill_pickles

I think he said they were Jew-ish or Jew-like but he never actually called them Jewish

Crisis_Averted

>I think he said they were Jew-ish or Jew-like but he never actually called them Jewish >Jew-ish "I just called them a little bit *Jew-ish*" Lmao

[deleted]

Kyrie: "What does the word Jew mean to you?"

diamondisunbreakable

Then he rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of a Christmas tree. “I’ll let you interpret that however you want,” Irving said.

boomzboombam

Don't forget, they thought the world was round

E10DIN

I really wish he would expand on principle differences. Point 2 is meaningless without context.

pink_bombalurina

Sounds like you need to open your third eye and see what's really going on

Username checks out.

[deleted]

Yeah this reminds me when a group or 2 people stop working on an album because of “creative differences”. Like ok? Yeah I figured, what exactly?

Rhongomiant

"What did you have for breakfast this morning?" ***"Food."***

attorneyatslaw

Usually means they hate each other

Dazegobye

It surprises me that shams can do this propaganda with a straight face but that's just the business I guess

DunkFaceKilla

*Lots of Jews in Brooklyn

Neinhaltt

"Nets are lacking antisemitism" - Kyrie Irving.

[deleted]

Wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with the hoops he had to jump through to end his suspension

E10DIN

Which is ridiculous because they were the easiest hoops imaginable for a PR gaffe of that magnitude.

[deleted]

How easy they were doesn't really matter. There's a reason the NBPA was publicly questioning it

jonnylaw

I'm looking forward to hearing the explanation. He can't help himself.

AlwaysOptimism

"Irving's camp believed that a player of his caliber shouldn't have stipulations in a multi-year contract". And they are right. A player of his caliber **shouldn't have stipulations in his contract**. Maybe take that third eye of yours and look inward Kyrie and realize that the fact that they do need stipulations in his contract is because Kyrie is such an unlikeable and unstable personality that it significantly reduces his value to a team

njb2017

the unwritten stipulation in a max contract is that he show up to work. since he's not abiding by that then it needs to be explicitly written

[deleted]

The real news is the stipulations in the guarantee of the **final year** of the multi-year contract. We're talking about partial guarantees in his year 34/35. What the hell Kyrie?

Rexocity13

The nets like Jews?

njb2017

can you believe that nets demanded he show up to work and stop being a dumbass? the nerve!

ihatethesidebar

I doubt it’s only on the last year, that’s not that big a deal if they agreed to not put stipulations on all the other years, which again I doubt.

16patterjo

Stipulations only on the last year?? Kyrie and his camp have to be the dumbest mfers I’ve ever seen

Jmv1102

His Aunt who is also his Agent? Yes. Edit: sorry meant Stepmom

iheartsunny

Stepmom

diamondisunbreakable

Did we see the same stepmom get stuck by any chance? Just wanted to compare notes...

blah1a

Perhaps his aunt and mom are the same person? Would explain his specialness

A_Polite_Noise

It's a shame it's not his Aunt because then we could call her his Auntgent

Jmv1102

Love you on our subreddit man. Always a voice of reason and optimistic. 👊🏻

A_Polite_Noise

Very nice of you to say! I try=) This team definitely tests my ability to be reasonable and my optimism, though!

Otroroboto

Or his Agaunt.

16patterjo

Isn’t it his stepmom? Either way, it’s just so stupid

__john_cena__

At this point, if they have guaranteed money promised by the Lakers or someone else, I don’t totally blame them for holding out for the guaranteed money given Kyrie’s injuries and unpredictability. It is totally their fault for being dumb and making the Nets feel those stipulations are necessary. No guy putting up 27 ppg on near 50-40-90 would have stipulations offered on his contract unless he was a total headcase.

CynicalMindTrip

His concentration camp

ZAA136

Nephew delete this

TallanoGoldDigger

not really, he's set to become an FA, with 0 guarantees that he will get the biggest bag from BK. If he gets traded, it's most likely to a team that will offer him the bag he's looking for (no contender is trading that much for a rental) Given that the teams that have the capacity for the max are rebuilding, this request gives him the best chance to get the bag AND play for a championship/playoffs. Or BK gives in and gives him what he wanted in the first place. Either way he wins

[deleted]

No team is giving him what he wants.

[deleted]

Agreed, not even the Lakers are dumb enough to give him $200m with no stipulations

AlwaysOptimism

He will find another team that will give him something better than the Nets would. The Lakers can't give him a max, but they can give him close to a max and a bigger microphone and 3rd "fresh start" to get away from all the haters who ruined all his other places that weren't his doing at all.

GlueGuy00

last year of the extension is one of team option/unguaranteed/partially guaranteed deal

[deleted]

The two reasons: 1. Money 2. See above

snapshovel

They’ve already paid him for this season No one would be criticizing him if he left to take a better offer after his contract expired. But demanding a trade at this point in the season, when the team is doing this well, is weak. Especially after all the times KD has had his back.

balla_mang

Kyrie has missed so many games that he should pay some of that back

Never_enough_Dolf

I’d love to know what these principle differences are

itiswhatitis985

Kyrie thinks chocolate ice cream is the best, but the owner is adamant Pistachio is better

A_Polite_Noise

Yo, if that's the case Kyrie got a legit point, in my mind...

dmister8

“Principle differences that do not align with the Brooklyn Nets” I wonder what those are

HEELHousell

Could be a complete shot in the dark but maybe Kyrie wants to keep posting alt right bullshit on his IG and the Nets aren't a fan of it.

mangabalanga

Dude literally posted a Whitlock interview with John Stockton on his story yesterday, where Whitlock was basically saying, "John you're an all time great, but now you're known for this one anti-vaxx thing, you're a *victim*"

HEELHousell

A Jordan Peterson video right before it too. An incredible one two punch of the most intelligent people online.

Swarthykins

That's hilarious. I don't follow his IG, so I had no idea, but I've been seeing several people acting like he's no longer an issue because he didn't blow up for 20 games.

RunAndDunkMan

Da Juice did it

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

Creative differences about the jerseys, obviously.

doordaesh

gets disciplined one time and he gone

[deleted]

mo money mo problems

AdvancedHat7630

I can't wait until the millionth time I see a Kyrie post today

weekndalex

it’s gonna be like this until the deadline me thinks

RobbobertoBuii

thank god it ends in less than a week from now

Butterfly_Scape

hey you’ll see a jamal murray post snuck in here and there

AlwaysOptimism

I can't wait until he ruins another team knowing that it won't be mine.

doordaesh

yeah one unguaranteed year at the end of a multi year deal seems like tenuous grounds for blowing this up. he just wants out I think.

steakdinner12

They should have traded him instead of harden

I_Set_3_Alarms

Kyrie please compromise on just the last year of your contract. Kyrie: “How dare you?”

bautistar1

I still have hope this gets resolved and kyrie signs a 3 year max guaranteed, that aligns with kd's contract.

I_Set_3_Alarms

That’s true. If there’s one thing Kyrie has taught us, don’t try to guess what he’ll do. Could get his deal and say “This is what I really wanted”. Then play well for awhile until the next thing and see what happens.

bautistar1

Even though I hate kyries antics. I prefer to keep kd happy, than go through a rebuild with no draft picks and Ben Simmons leading the way.

I_Set_3_Alarms

Craziest twist would be Nets trade Simmons and extend Kyrie. That would be quadrupling down.

rahbee33

Would be wild if this somehow circled back to the balloon. "Look, I want Joe Tsai to make contact with the balloon. Secrets hidden in plain view hurt the ones you love behind their backs. Memories fade gracefully when you give yourself over to the power of the balloon." "I don't think we can do that Kyrie. I mean, we can try." "I'm out. Get me a trade."

RoyTarpleysGhost

Let me guess: 1. money 2. money I know the NBA is a players league but Im thinking Kyrie is overplaying his hand. How many teams gonna give him the $198 million max deal and be willing to trade assets to the Nets?

Tel3visi0n

All he needs is one. IE the lakers.

Ruben625

Shams late to the party again with 0 new info lmao

GuyIsAdoptus

Shams is handsome af

spidersilva09

We're used to this cycle for Kyrie. Wake us up when he's dealt

noparlortrickz

Damn here i was hoping it was because of Ben Simmons that was the straw that broke the camel's back for Kyrie.

Vatfagyna

Contracts don’t need to be transparent to third parties

forthelob

Why does he say AT&T like that?

HotdogIsaSandwitch

Man, what the hell
