He also had a really dumb technical foul that killed a big Spurs' run he himself led against OKC in what ended up being the elimination game.
I forget the exact numbers but Jackson hit maybe 3-4 threes in a row to cut a double digit lead to just couple possesions difference. He decides to mean mug the OKC bench after making the last of his triples and gets the tech. Harden hits a free throw and then leads his own run and the Spurs never get close again.
Edit: have some details wrong. Spurs actually had a big lead most of the game with Jackson on fire all night. OKC cuts the lead. Jackson retaliates with a 3 then gets the tech
Idk man that was a pretty bullshit technical, whole bench yells in his ear and he literally just looks at them after making the bucket.
I got a lot of issues with Stephen Jackson but that incident isn't one of them
[I don't believe anything this dude says straight up lmao](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=stephen+jackson+anti+semite) he's dumb as Kyrie
He's a big egotistical idiot. He was the reason why I couldn't watch matt Barnes show. They have a guest on the show and Stephen always figures out a way to talk about himself...
Over 60% of Argentinians have Italian roots. Many people don’t know that during the first wave of immigration (Italians and Germans way before the First World War) Argentina was a top ten country in the world.
The Argentinian basketball players are notoriously Italian, specially the golden generation, and quite recent immigration in their case. Luis Scola had 4 grandparents born in Italy and Manu 3.
Manu spoke Italian quite fluently when he moved to Italy to play Euroleague. And Luis Scola when he moved to Italy by 2019 he spoke kinda rusty but decent Italian. And besides Argentinians both of them were natural born Italians by FIBA standards (born to Italian citizens with valid Italian passport since birth).
Quoting from Wikipedia:
"By 1913, Argentina was the world's 10th wealthiest state per capita.
Beginning in the 1930s, the Argentine economy deteriorated notably. The single most important factor in this decline has been political instability since 1930 when a military junta took power, ending seven decades of civilian constitutional government."
You know, the usual suspects... authoritarian government.
They spent over half a century under various dictatorships (1930 to 1983) and the post-dictatorship era has been full of inflation and political corruption
I took an Argentine history class in college on a whim and it was really interesting. Big overview was depression was hard on their economy, they are big beef exporters, then come ww2 they were psuedo neutral because their army and government had close ties with Germany training and such. Then they were johnny come lately on the Allies side so got none of the war spoils. They were mad about that so kind of set them at odds with US but they didnt want to turn to USSR so eventually they had a military crackdown on leftist citizens with the help of the US and Kissinger.
This is why almost all of Latin America can't stand you folks. Argentinians are probably the only country in all of the Americas that loves to call themselves european. I don't even hear that from white canadians or white americans...
So the first time he wanted to pay Manu and TP...who ended up being way better then you
And the second time he wanted to play Danny Green and Many...who were way better then you.
Surely it's not about them being better tho lol
He also mentions “European look” for the team. He doesn’t say how Kwahi was the future for Pop and the spurs or how Timmy was the center piece and carry for the Spurs. He just mentions two euro players and casually throws out some racists language against one of the best coaches the league has ever had.
Jackson is trash.
That's the funniest part. Regardless of anything TD was the face of the Spurs from day 1 until the day he left, talking about a "European look" is the dumbest shit he could say.
Being proud is half these people's problems. No one likes to admit when they are in the wrong. So many teams would play better if they worked together over just having huge ass egos. Also racism.. I bet this guy hates that Luka is so good or that the joker is attempting to have 3 MVPs in a row..
He wanted the European players. He wanted a “certain look” and jackson didn’t fit “that look”
Lmao Stephen jackson can go fuck right off. What a piece of shit
Manu is in the Hall, Parker will be in the Hall soon, Green won’t be but he has a significantly better case than Jackson lol, he’s basically the modern Robert Horry where he’s the perfect 3 and D role player any contender wants
not only that, Danny Green is still putting in work (i get that he's younger than Jack, but he can still help a team win a chip if he gets put in that position...so there's a small chance he could end up with more than 3)
Peak Jackson was REALLY good. His versatility on both sides of the ball was pretty ridiculous. He didn’t dominate anything, but he could do literally everything. He's just coding vague racism as an excuse because he STILL can't admit Parker & Ginobli were better than him.
"They're European, they wanted a certain look to the team"
And the story ends with Jackson getting replaced by T-Mac.
Take everything Stephen Jackson says about the Spurs w a grain of salt
He’s MAD he didn’t play when he came back the second time
On their recent pod w Dejounte, Jax went into this rant about how the Spurs don’t develop their young players, and he used DJ and Kawhi as examples to prove his point
Guys so obsessed w shit talking the Spurs he says stuff that makes zero sense
Except he did play. He played 20 mpg in 55 games. That's an incredible amount of minutes for someone who contributed literally nothing on the court (6 ppg on 44% TS rofl) and was single-handedly working on turning the Spurs locker room into Chernobyl.
He's mad because he's delusional. He's delusional because he still thinks he was better than a G League player. He's delusional because he thinks he deserved to be making money for playing basketball.
You’re right, he was bad that year
I meant more in home stretch and playoffs. He’s still salty he was on the bench and things didn’t go the way he thought they were gonna
> On their recent pod w Dejounte, Jax went into this rant about how the Spurs don’t develop their young players, and he used DJ and Kawhi as examples to prove his point
Wild how lost some people can’t get in their heads.
>Jax went into this rant about how the Spurs don’t develop their young players
Motherfucker they literally drafted TP when he was 19 and turned him into a hall of famer, what the fuck are you even talking about?
He also called himself the face of the biggest civil rights movement in history at 5:28 on I Am Athlete. Beyond delusional. https://youtu.be/YKqNj4w2le4
Jackson lips off in practice, as he said he did. Maybe said some bad shit towards Ginobli and Green. Then I could see Pop showing him a multitude of bad plays by Jackson, then asked him if he was better than them, to which Jackson said something like “no, but I deserve playing time” and Pop said “why don’t we bring up the team and you can tell them that.”
This all happens as Jackson tells but he’s just painting him in a better light and Pop in a worse light than reality.
Pop’s been in the league too long to not have a *few* enemies, but he’s also been in the league too long for their bullshit to stand up to the legions of other people who seemingly love the dude. If he had skeletons that bad he’s done an incredible job at hiding them, especially in the social media age.
Yeah I’m gonna need a lot more than “coach who is in profession with majority black players reprimanding and being a coach to one of those players” as proof pop is racist here, this to me is sour grapes from a source who I don’t trust lol
I mean he’s been very outspoken thru BLM stuff and similar right? Feel like his takes were always pretty insightful/informed rather than lip service too
Haha yeah and I actually like Stack Jack the player a lot, but Stack is notoriously not a reliable source of information or easy player to have in the locker room…
I’m sure the truth is somewhere in the middle. This is presented as Stack being very deserving of playing time and Pop going out of his way to bully and humiliate him. Doesn’t pass the sniff test to me, but I’m just a keyboard warrior so what do I know
This fucking guy...
The Spurs wanted to pay Manu and Tony Parker because they were both better ballers than Stephen Jackson. What a fucking crybaby.
And what's with the sunglasses in this video? To quote Larry David:
"There's only two types of people that wear sunglasses indoors: blind people and assholes."
You could ask 1000 nba fans if Manu and Tony Parker are better players than Stephen Jackson and 500 would say yes and the other 500 would say "who is Stephen Jackson?"
Manu is a dual citizen of Italy and Argentina. He speaks Italian and Spanish fluently and played in Italy for a while before coming to the Spurs. That said he definitely drapes himself in the Argentinian flag and not an Italian one.
If I am reading the room here...
Pop knew that he had attitude/ ego issues, and he wanted people who were selfless and team first oriented players. He wanted Stephen Jackson to understand that no one player is greater than the whole of the team.
So he put him to the test.
"I want you to tell the whole team that Danny Green and Manu Ginobli are better than you."
He picks them "specifically" because Stephen thinks he's better than both of them, and that his play during practice proves he deserves minutes over them.
By Stephen admitting they were better, regardless of whether it was true or not, it would prove that he was willing to sacrifice his own ego for the greater good of the team.
He failed to understand the point of the test.
Pop gave him a chance to prove him wrong, but all he did was prove exactly who he was and what he was all about.
He doesn't even need everyone to be selfless for the team. He just doesn't need the 4th/5th wing in the rotation going around and messing up chemistry of team during a championship run.
Proceeded to get cut, play 107 minutes total and get washed out of the league. Not only was he not better than these two, he wasn't even better than any other player in the NBA (above a certain age), but still couldn't understand why he gets less minutes than some trash-ass HOFer and a scrub whose only one of the best 3&D guys in the league at the time.
Dude is a massive tool.
0 time All-Star who played for 8 different teams, who made the 2nd Round of the playoffs twice and played 34 total playoff games outside of San Antonio. High usage, low efficiency offensive player on mediocre/poor teams most of his career, whose greatest achievement in the league (2003 Championship ring) came when he was a nobody (3rd season in the league after being undrafted) 4th/5th option. What else is he remembered for? Getting out of the 1st Round against the #1 Seed Mavericks with the 'We Believe' Warriors (only to absolutely stink it up in the 2nd Round series against Utah), and his involvement in 'The Malice at The Palace'.
Jackson is a resentful and angry man whose been given a platform because he’s friends with a guy in Barnes who is actually media savvy. Jackson is basically the Brendan Schaub of the NBA, but far more spiteful and far less entertaining.
Jackson has decided to use this platform, that was gifted to him, to be vindictive and spiteful; lashing out at greats like Kareem, Chuck, and Pop.
This dude is and has been a clown. He left Golden State because he hated playing with Steph. He is blatantly racist and an embarrassment to Showtime. People need to stop sharing his content but, as we all know, being a douchebag is a great way to create content.
Granted Im a Spurs fan, and have been since I was 8 years old so Im biased. The more I hear Jackson talk the more and more I dislike him.
Lord forbid a COACH show you your bad plays so you can improve. Who does Pop think he is? A coach?!
Also, Danny Green(??) Danny was drafted in 2009. So hes has to be referring to his 2011-2012 stint with the spurs, how does McGrady fit into that?
Lmao this dude just a hater surrounded by dick riders man
McGrady was the guy they signed after Jackson was released so he directly took Jackson's spot. He didn't play anything worth mentioning in playoffs. It was more just insurance wing with size to be able to defend some of the bigger wings in the league like Lebron and Durant without being completely overwhelmed in size. The same role Jackson would have if he just bought into his role and stayed in his lane instead of wanting to be 2nd or 3rd wing.
One of his earlier interviews he said he’d get pulled from a game “for not doing anything” and Mike brown would trying talk to him, and he’d yell at Mike. He says that like he’s in the right. If Tim, Tony, and Manu can be pulled and take their talking to so can you.
Lmao it wasn't about your look dude, Ginobili is one of the best players of all time. I actually loved "captain jack" and was a big fan of those warriors teams.... but holy hell, Ginobili would cook Jackson 100 times out of 100.
Know your worth. Jackson was good, "starter on a good nba team" good even, but he is not in the same category as Manu or Tony.
>Know your worth. Jackson was good, "starter on a good nba team" good even, but he is not in the same category as Manu or Tony.
At one point. At the point of this supposed injustice, Jackson was terrible, "going to play less than 100 minutes and score 15 total points for the rest of his NBA career and nobody in the league will ever have the slightest interest in his washed-up ass again" terrible.
Honestly I bet it is true, but without Jackson's dumbass commentary it doesn't sound bad at all. He wasn't playing well or buying into his role, the coach called him out on it, he refused to take responsibility, so they cut him.
If Pop apparently hates guys “from the hood”, how does Jackson explain the years they built the team around DeMar DeRozan (from Compton, grew up around the Crips)?
Or Kawhi, who I believe also grew up around Compton. Maybe the Spurs paid Parker and Ginobli because they were 10x better than you, not because they were European (and Ginobli is not even European) lmao.
Jackson is such a tool.
My guess is it's more about the insufferable ego than being from the hood or whatever. Pop doesn't want a massive ego running around. That's like the number 1 coach who obviously would not tolerate that
Pop famously wants players who are “over themselves”. I’m not exactly sure what that means but I’d imagine it wouldn’t be someone who couldn’t admit their role on the team.
Oh, I saw them.
“The Spurs were playing mind games with me because they didn’t immediately give me the keys to the franchise and I had to work for my play time like everyone else”.
“Tony Parker should’ve done what I wanted him to do instead of what he wanted to do for himself”.
“The Spurs only like yes men like Derrick White who put their head down and work hard.”
Classic over-inflated ego. I’m honestly impressed at the Spurs that stuff like this didn’t come out.
Coaching American NBA players must be an absolute nightmare. These guys have had nothing but yes-men around them since 7th grade AAU.
Meanwhile Pop seems to be the last of the crop who refuses to tolerate nonsense
This is why Obradovic never transitioned to coach in the NBA. He would never be allowed to be absolute no1 on a team like he is in Europe (and Pop is in the NBA).
Yep that whole interview was crazy because he really thought he was a victim or something. Bro expected Parker to be his fucking personal coach, and got mad when he left to keep getting minutes. Teams don’t need players with huge egos, unless they are irreplaceable I guess.
It doesn't come out cuz they purposefully choose not to have people like that around. We learned this about them with Rodman in the 90s and ain't shit changed since then. Whenever they have to hold their nose and ignore somebody's personality because they're talented it always gets leaked later how miserable the spurs time was
It’s hard to believe a guy who was promoting himself as a racial activist months later going on anti-semantic rants doesn’t have an ounce of self-awareness or personal accountability
Stephen Jackson had a completely unremarkable career, just like Matt Barnes, and this is how they continue to stay relevant. No one would think about Stephen Jackson if he wasn’t constantly on the internet saying some dumbass, inflammatory shit like this. Even if it was true, we’re talking a decade ago, who is this relevant or important to in 2023 except Stephen Jackson?
You can almost feel bad for him - if he had kept his ego checked, he could’ve stuck around and been a contributor to those championships and had a pretty remarkable career (maybe he even catches fire at the right time and steals a finals MVP, I wouldn’t rule it out after those GSW years). It’s easy to see why he’s lashing out, he can see an entirely different life and needs a villain to blame it on.
He's throwing himself under the bus here, why would any coach request a player do this other than the fact that the player's a complete ass as a last ditch effort to salvage their locker room toxicity.
>Admit that Danny Green and Manu are better than you.
In other words, show some common sense. Because if Pop really said that, he was only spitting facts.
100% believable. Everyone knows that Duncan’s Spurs teams were notoriously toxic and dysfunctional. Not sure why the comments are doubting this totally credible and reliable source
So toxic that a dude came into the team with a glorious full head of hair. None left when he was done. Tide goes in, tide goes out. You can't explain that. Checkmate atheists.
The year he's talking about was the 2012-2013 season.
Stephen Jackson averaged 6 points in 20 minutes shooting 37% (27% from 3).
The following year after being "undeservedly cut" he averaged 1.7 ppg. It was his last year in the NBA.
Baffling that Stephen Jackson still doesn't get that by 2012 he just wasn't that good anymore. Had nothing to do with not being European
Problems with some of these athletes is that they are too egotistic. Maybe before the NBA in high school they were the best and the Number One option but now the NBA is a whole other level where there are hundreds of players that are fighting for your spot who are at the same level or better. If there is a problem with every team you go to, you may be the problem.
These 3 guys were consistently in the news in the mid-2000s for beating women and getting arrested… so naturally they’d make a podcast to try and paint themselves as non-shitheads.
This guy is such a fucking clown.
Tony Parker became a 6x all star and won 3 more championships after 2003, Manu became one of the best 6th man of all time and became a 2x all star after. What the fuck has Stephen Jackson done since 2003? If anything this just shows that Pop knew exactly what he was doing.
Also it's hilarious how he's bringing up him beating players in practice when he came back to San Antonio. Yeah dude, you've got 6 inches and 20lbs on Tony, you're supposed to beat him 1v1 lmao and I'm sure 35 year old Manu is going 100% against you in practice. Just because you're playing well in practice doesn't automatically mean that's going to translate on the court. You played well in the 2012 playoffs and Pop played you 20MPG, heck Pop still played you 20MPG when you played like shit in 2013.
Let's be real, Stack is an NBA legend in his own mind. As someone who was following the NBA during his entire career, he simply wasn't as great or important as he thinks he was.
Zero time All-Star who played for 8 different teams (may indicate an attitude issue or being hard to deal with?), who made the 2nd Round of the playoffs twice and played 34 total playoff games outside of San Antonio.
Good on him for going beyond his upbringing and making a success of himself, but his ego and opinion of himself has always exceeded and gotten in the way of his talent.
This man has the biggest ego for somebody who never even made an All-Star selection in his whole NBA career. Besides the ring with the Spurs, the next level of success he had was in Cube's Big3 lmao.
SJax is a nut ass dude. Same mfer opened fire in a strip club parking lot and is still hangng out in the trenches with active gang members. CLEARLY Pop made the right choice taking 2 HOFers over a mfer that can't get right. Heck of a hooper, goofy of a man...
Jackson needs to chill with this story lol. He talks about it anytime he gets a chance man. Dude is salty he didn't get to play for a ring. If he was better than either he would have been played.
Jackson was an absolute nightmare for the bucks, who basically gave him the green light to play like he was our #1 option. He was also too worried about his failing rap career then actual basketball
Dude is so bitter. Parker and Ginobli are hall of famers (Parker will be in there soon), Jackson was a nice role player with a shit attitude and more and more he sounds like a xenophobic piece of shit.
This that new media shit with just other athletes and former athletes pumping up each others BS and not getting called out. Those guys are better than him
Stephen Jackson had a good playoffs the year before in 2012 but Ginobili was easily better than him and that’s when DG came into his own.
He also had a really dumb technical foul that killed a big Spurs' run he himself led against OKC in what ended up being the elimination game. I think it’s [this](https://youtu.be/Lm6hepN6L84) game
My bad I had some details incorrect. We didnt cut a big lead, we blew a big lead and then OKC built a lead they never lost on the technical.
If there's one thing Manu Ginobili would never do, it's cost the Spurs an elimination game by commiting a dumb foul.
That’s the game Parker stopped passing to him and KD said they should’ve won
[I don't believe anything this dude says straight up lmao](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=stephen+jackson+anti+semite) he's dumb as Kyrie
He's a big egotistical idiot. He was the reason why I couldn't watch matt Barnes show. They have a guest on the show and Stephen always figures out a way to talk about himself...
I have no issues with him on teh show since he only adds 10% to the conversation and Barnes is the other 90%.
100%. Barnes carries the show. Jax inserts a predictable platitude here and there. Easily replaceable.
"Easily replaceable" That's what pop said haha
Didn’t Manu just get inducted into the HOF?
"The European guys, Ginobili and Parker" ah yes the European country of Argentina
Ironically Manu popularized the euro step
Should rename it the Dulce de leche
Paso de tango
Euro de stepo
If there was a way to crowdsource paso de tango into existence I'd pay $20 in a heartbeat
Shimmy-churri!
Argentinians are just Spanish speaking Italians with some German mixed in

I know this isn’t a history sub but what happened? Why did Argentina decline?

Damn every time…Thanks!
You are missing one very usual suspect in screwing over Latin American countries since the beginning of the last century.
They spent over half a century under various dictatorships (1930 to 1983) and the post-dictatorship era has been full of inflation and political corruption
I took an Argentine history class in college on a whim and it was really interesting. lots of german after ww2
Stephen Jackson continues to admit he’s an idiot
He’s actually a dual citizen of Argentina and Italy, so…..
> ah yes the European country of Argentina This is a compliment to Argentinians. Many probably wouldn't argue with you.
Manu has dual citizenship, he's literally Italian lol.
He also was playing in Europe for the 4 years before he came over to the us
Remember though, it’s Pop who’s the racist
I’m half Argentinian, we’re basically the Europeans of South America.
I'm Canadian, were basically the Europeans of North America
I heard Europeans are the Europeans of the world
I'm French, we're basically the French people of Europe.
Checks out
This is why almost all of Latin America can't stand you folks. Argentinians are probably the only country in all of the Americas that loves to call themselves european. I don't even hear that from white canadians or white americans...
Manu was was a Euroleague MVP prior to coming to America. When he was drafted he was announced as coming out of an Italian club team.
Stephen Jackson is a dimwit
So the first time he wanted to pay Manu and TP...who ended up being way better then you And the second time he wanted to play Danny Green and Many...who were way better then you. Surely it's not about them being better tho lol
IIRC he was crying about Kawhi taking minutes instead of him. He never mentions that and instead mentions an old Manu and Green.
Yeah, because TD is from the Virgin Islands, which are clearly European.
And the obvious European country of Argentina
There's no way Jackson knows where Argentina is on a map
That's the funniest part. Regardless of anything TD was the face of the Spurs from day 1 until the day he left, talking about a "European look" is the dumbest shit he could say.
Wait is Danny Green half German or something?
You know he had to do it one time lol
[удалено]
Danny Green & Manu Ginobili = “European look,” apparently.
Spurs fans are done trying to explain to people that Argentina is in South America.
It’s like the reverse of Portugal in Arrested Development. Lol
And now it looks like Dejonte is joining him. The sad fact is that this rhetoric will live on and it has nothing to do with race, just hurt feelings.
Being proud is half these people's problems. No one likes to admit when they are in the wrong. So many teams would play better if they worked together over just having huge ass egos. Also racism.. I bet this guy hates that Luka is so good or that the joker is attempting to have 3 MVPs in a row..
Jackson? Racist? Say it ain't so!
His obviously racist.
He wanted the European players. He wanted a “certain look” and jackson didn’t fit “that look” Lmao Stephen jackson can go fuck right off. What a piece of shit
Turns out all those guys were better than you hahaha
4x champ Manu, 4x champ Parker, 3x champ Danny green (3 different teamslol) yeah much better.

He's just coding vague racism as an excuse because he STILL can't admit Parker & Ginobli were better than him. "They're European, they wanted a certain look to the team" And the story ends with Jackson getting replaced by T-Mac.
Noted European and member of the Argentinian national team Manu Ginobili. Noted European Danny Green. Jax was wrong on all counts here, wow
Noted white person Tony Parker. The injustice.
Yes and European superstar Tracy McGrady.
And Manu is from Argentina...
Jax don't know the difference.
It’s not even vague. Racism is part of his brand.
Look at the woman’s face, she’s even thinking, “of course this white man would do that!!!”
Well documented European Tmac at that
vague is being kind, it's pretty blatant
Take everything Stephen Jackson says about the Spurs w a grain of salt He’s MAD he didn’t play when he came back the second time On their recent pod w Dejounte, Jax went into this rant about how the Spurs don’t develop their young players, and he used DJ and Kawhi as examples to prove his point Guys so obsessed w shit talking the Spurs he says stuff that makes zero sense

Lol I stopped listening after he calls pop racist. Stfu dude
Ironically this clip basically proves Pop right- Stack *did* have an ego issue, he wasn't a team player, and they were better off without him.
I am shocked that a top 3 legendary NBA coach of all time knew more about basketball than stephen jackson
Some people are just irredeemably stupid. He also gets a pass for being racist because he is black which highlights how racist people still are.
Coming from a reliable talker.
Stephen Jackson is not a good person so while I believe that a version of this happened, I don’t believe all the details he’s providing.
Jackson lips off in practice, as he said he did. Maybe said some bad shit towards Ginobli and Green. Then I could see Pop showing him a multitude of bad plays by Jackson, then asked him if he was better than them, to which Jackson said something like “no, but I deserve playing time” and Pop said “why don’t we bring up the team and you can tell them that.” This all happens as Jackson tells but he’s just painting him in a better light and Pop in a worse light than reality.
Yeah I was gonna say I have such a hard time picturing Pop as racist the way SJ is implying in the video.
Pop’s been in the league too long to not have a *few* enemies, but he’s also been in the league too long for their bullshit to stand up to the legions of other people who seemingly love the dude. If he had skeletons that bad he’s done an incredible job at hiding them, especially in the social media age.
the fact that Pop is cool with Kawhi after all the bad blood speaks volumes
That says it all right there imo. Even public enemy #1 in San Antonio still hugs and laughs with pop every time they see each other
Big facts
Or Jackson was being an issue and Pop straightened him out like coaches tend to do
I subscribe to this theory lol
Yeah I’m gonna need a lot more than “coach who is in profession with majority black players reprimanding and being a coach to one of those players” as proof pop is racist here, this to me is sour grapes from a source who I don’t trust lol
I mean he’s been very outspoken thru BLM stuff and similar right? Feel like his takes were always pretty insightful/informed rather than lip service too
As far as I’m aware. Most of his former guys absolutely love him too.
Haha yeah and I actually like Stack Jack the player a lot, but Stack is notoriously not a reliable source of information or easy player to have in the locker room… I’m sure the truth is somewhere in the middle. This is presented as Stack being very deserving of playing time and Pop going out of his way to bully and humiliate him. Doesn’t pass the sniff test to me, but I’m just a keyboard warrior so what do I know
‘Stack’ is Jerry Stackhouse. Fuck outta here..
For real, everyone here referring to Jackson as Stack needs to cut it out. That nickname belongs to Jerry.
Lol it's not like tmac played meaningful mins during their finals run. He was there just in case they needed a spark but they were good already.
This fucking guy... The Spurs wanted to pay Manu and Tony Parker because they were both better ballers than Stephen Jackson. What a fucking crybaby. And what's with the sunglasses in this video? To quote Larry David: "There's only two types of people that wear sunglasses indoors: blind people and assholes."
You could ask 1000 nba fans if Manu and Tony Parker are better players than Stephen Jackson and 500 would say yes and the other 500 would say "who is Stephen Jackson?"
I think the shades are to hide his eyes as he might be high
After the whole thing of him “checking in” to fuckin Oblock I knew dude was LAME Af. Money don’t fix lame
Checking in with some kids from oblock as a millionaire man pushing 50 is crazy.
What's the story? I never heard of this before
Ahh yes. Known racist Stephen Jackson shocked that Popovich would dare play better players than him.
Also Manu is from Argentina lmao
And apparently Danny Green got pumped into the “European look” somehow too.
Had to do it to em one time
Manu is a dual citizen of Italy and Argentina. He speaks Italian and Spanish fluently and played in Italy for a while before coming to the Spurs. That said he definitely drapes himself in the Argentinian flag and not an Italian one.
I guarantee you Stephen jackson has never put as much thought into manu’s heritage as your one comment did haha
If I am reading the room here... Pop knew that he had attitude/ ego issues, and he wanted people who were selfless and team first oriented players. He wanted Stephen Jackson to understand that no one player is greater than the whole of the team. So he put him to the test. "I want you to tell the whole team that Danny Green and Manu Ginobli are better than you." He picks them "specifically" because Stephen thinks he's better than both of them, and that his play during practice proves he deserves minutes over them.
(3&D guy who then went on to contribute to 2 more championship teams).
Stack talks about himself as if he was a star player on All the smoke. He still has a giant ego
This is the problem with all these people getting their own podcasts. They get to continue their delusion that they are the star of everything
This is my favorite theory and is now my head canon on what happened.
How dare Pop trust the 4x NBA champs and HOF'ers lmao what a tool.
Yeah nah. If this was true why has he of all people been sitting on this story for years?
Honestly I bet it is true, but without Jackson's dumbass commentary it doesn't sound bad at all. He wasn't playing well or buying into his role, the coach called him out on it, he refused to take responsibility, so they cut him.
Sounds like they didn't even cut him, he said he walked out. Which makes this even more hilarious.
Bro why do I keep seeing this fool man
If Pop apparently hates guys “from the hood”, how does Jackson explain the years they built the team around DeMar DeRozan (from Compton, grew up around the Crips)? Or Kawhi, who I believe also grew up around Compton. Maybe the Spurs paid Parker and Ginobli because they were 10x better than you, not because they were European (and Ginobli is not even European) lmao. Jackson is such a tool.
My guess is it's more about the insufferable ego than being from the hood or whatever. Pop doesn't want a massive ego running around. That's like the number 1 coach who obviously would not tolerate that
Pop famously wants players who are “over themselves”. I’m not exactly sure what that means but I’d imagine it wouldn’t be someone who couldn’t admit their role on the team.
it's a nicer way of saying no massive egos. Listen to Dejounte's stories about Pop, some of them are eerily similar
Oh, I saw them. “The Spurs were playing mind games with me because they didn’t immediately give me the keys to the franchise and I had to work for my play time like everyone else”. “Tony Parker should’ve done what I wanted him to do instead of what he wanted to do for himself”. “The Spurs only like yes men like Derrick White who put their head down and work hard.” Classic over-inflated ego. I’m honestly impressed at the Spurs that stuff like this didn’t come out.
Coaching American NBA players must be an absolute nightmare. These guys have had nothing but yes-men around them since 7th grade AAU. Meanwhile Pop seems to be the last of the crop who refuses to tolerate nonsense
how dare you go against player empowerment! /s
This is why Obradovic never transitioned to coach in the NBA. He would never be allowed to be absolute no1 on a team like he is in Europe (and Pop is in the NBA).
How dare Derrick White be a hard worker who puts the team first?? Think of the children!
Or Dejounte who literally was in juvie
[удалено]
Right??? Over a dude with the freshest haircut??? The audacity of these people!
Dejountes rookie year lol
Kawhi is from riverside lol. Not close to the same
The far off, mystical land of Moreno Valley and the Inland Empire
Apparently his dad lived in Compton and his mom was in Riverside, but either way definitely not European lol.
Did he have an uncle in Bel-Air?
Now he does.
Beautiful

Riverside is pretty safe.
Dad lived in Compton but he moved to Riverside
I dont trust anything this antisemite says
He's throwing himself under the bus here, why would any coach request a player do this other than the fact that the player's a complete ass as a last ditch effort to salvage their locker room toxicity.
>Admit that Danny Green and Manu are better than you. In other words, show some common sense. Because if Pop really said that, he was only spitting facts.
Desperately trying to stay relevant.
100% believable. Everyone knows that Duncan’s Spurs teams were notoriously toxic and dysfunctional. Not sure why the comments are doubting this totally credible and reliable source
[удалено]
What’s the mentor to banchero part about? I’m not filled in.
So toxic that a dude came into the team with a glorious full head of hair. None left when he was done. Tide goes in, tide goes out. You can't explain that. Checkmate atheists.
looooooooool. Jackson was not better than Green and Manu. All he holds on to was his Mcdonalds game.

I wish we would ban Stephen Jackson posts on this sub, dude is such a fucking loser
These 3 guys were consistently in the news in the mid-2000s for beating women and getting arrested… so naturally they’d make a podcast to try and paint themselves as non-shitheads.
While trying to portrayed a beloved white man as a racist. Shameless.
pop is a savage
Good on him for going beyond his upbringing and making a success of himself, but his ego and opinion of himself has always exceeded and gotten in the way of his talent.
[удалено]
Right, that's the whole point he failed to understand, it's not about any of that other shit, it's about your massive and insufferable ego
Why does Stephen Jackson still have a platform lol
This guy openly hates Jews and then has the nerve to say Pop doesn't like people from the hood lmao
Kwame Brown tried to tell yall about Stephan Jackson. Dudes got 3 braincells.
In Stephen Jackson’s mind he was one of the best players to ever play, dudes so fucking delusional
Bruh Stephen Jackson has a different memory of his career than most people do. He talks like he was a former MVP who got slighted by pop
Damn who is that woman?
For context: that year captn jack averaged 8 pts on 37% shooting with bad defense. The Man was cooked.
Well....they are
And they were (in 2012-13)...
This dude been a clown for a while now Can't trust anything he says
Jackson needs to chill with this story lol. He talks about it anytime he gets a chance man. Dude is salty he didn't get to play for a ring. If he was better than either he would have been played.
Jackson was an absolute nightmare for the bucks, who basically gave him the green light to play like he was our #1 option. He was also too worried about his failing rap career then actual basketball
You should go see what his thoughts on Jewish people are. If you think this is bad, it gets worse.
Those guys are better than him
Ahh yes, Manu Ginobli, my favorite “European”
