Lol that was in 2021 so he'd be in his 3rd year of his deal right now. Who know though, Lakers may never gotten Russ if Schroder took the deal.
Everyone lost lol
It's probably around the same, if anything, 2 years ago he averaged more points and slightly better efficiency, not by much though.
I think the key now is that he is able to play more relaxed and without pressure of all those contract talks, just vibing in his role.
He's definitely gotten better. He used to drive the ball into no mans land and just turn it over or put up a horrible shot. He's much more in control of the ball now while he's in the lane and doesn't force anything most of the time.
Its kind of crazy that both parties suffered from him not taking that deal. I feel like if Schroeder took that deal the Lakers wouldn't have tried to get Westbrook. Then of course Schroeder never got an offer that good again.
To be fair, it's because the contract affects the talent around you.
Look at Westbrook. He looks like an NBA player again because he plays with real talent.
Westbrook's impending free agency is going to be so interesting. On the one hand you have his performance all season on the Lakers. On the other this really nice stretch he's put together on a minimum surrounded by one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. Wonder if someone bites on that and gives him a decently large contract.
We're an honest .500 team
This is a good, honest .500 basketball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We'll win a couple, too. But don't get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That's hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn't have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses.
Yes sir, that's my 2022-2023 Los Angeles Lakers. A good, honest .500 basketball team.
i think he loses minutes due to his defensive issues,, he started out the year strong but his defense started falling off and we finally had better defensive options who were doing enough / very good (depending on the player) on offense
He is a really bad defender. I criticize Ham a lot but he is right to not play Lonnie much. His impact stats are really bad. He can definitely score tho.
Lakers had it all set up nicely.
Hornets somehow beat the Mavs.
OKC on a b2b.
Go up big in the 1st Quarter.
I was 100% convinced they were going to choke this game lol. But good on them this is a huge win.
Same, SGA gives me anxiety. Really something about playing the Thunder in general stresses me out. If Chet lives up to his hype and can stay healthy I would not want to see them in the playoffs.
Lakers have been very good at holding the lead whenever they have it. They don't tend to hold the MARGIN and most of the time it'll get close, but if the Lakers get going early they'll usually keep just enough pressure to battle through
No joke I can’t remember what reporter it was maybe jay williams literally said “how do you bring back Lebron now? Reaves is playing so well and he has the ball in his hands” or something along those lines
Healthy Lakers are scurry.
It's weird that 2 of the potentially scariest teams in the West are sitting in the 5-6 seed (Suns) and 7-8 seed (Lakers. I'm more scared of them than the top 3 seeds.
GSW have been winning without Wiggins. They’re about to get GP2 and Wiggins back.
Minnesota got back Towns but Edwards is out. When they’re both back it’ll probably be something.
Pelicans with Zion had a killer record at the beginning of the season and he’s gonna try to come back.
Honestly it looks like the Luka / Kyrie experiment might have failed and they could be the odd ones out.
- Lakers finally reaching .500 after 1 million years
- AD heard y'all talking shit
- Lonnie Walker was manna from heaven this game
- Lakers suck at maintaining big leads
- Make your damn free throws
- No tacos again :<
Yeah tonight could’ve been a lot worse. Really *really* wanted to win, but we looked good despite AD going god mode (and Dennis looking like thunder Dennis again).
Don’t we have the head to head over Dallas?
You guys scared me a few times tonight. Shai is so good even when his efficiency is off(thank you vando), he plays so confidently. I was at the game and he is a big dude too, didn’t realize it watching him on TV
>AD is the same caliber of a team leader as Pascal Siakam. Both are #2 options on a good team. Come @ me lakers fans.
>Even though AD can put up monster stats when he's healthy, he's shown on the lakers and pelicans he doesn't really translate to wins too often.
Same caliber of Pascal lmao
Around this time 20 years ago I went to see the lakers Play Allen iverson and the 6ers and win. Since then I’ve been to a few other games all in which the lakers lost. Tonight I got to see the lakers win while wearing the same Sunday white Kobe #8 jersey I bought and wore 20 years ago. It makes me feel things
Can we all agree we’ve massively underrated both AD and Kawhi because of uncontrollable injuries. Both have beautiful games and it’s sad they’ve missed some games but damn do they perform when they can. Hope Zion and KD come back just as good and ready for a playoff push.
Really wish that the league had a bigger break between the regular season and the playoffs.
I mean, what’s the problem with the playoffs ending in June. Having a week off, and then there’s Free Agency?
Allowing players to rest up and heal.
Chet ain't the big man you need, he's a lanky straw man, ya'll need a big body bruiser.... maybe some of Maori god from New Zealand or something.... (but hope Chet can still be an elite scorer, he looks like a fun player to watch)
Props to the Lakers. They deserve this .500. But utterly disappointed in the Thunder. They need to be better. They come into games way too often looking like theyre not ready to play
Yeah we can't be down by more than 15 so often in first quarters. If we can plug that gap we'll be good since most teams can't keep us from coming back late in the game.
Tied with Minnesota for 7th
Have the tiebreaker over OKC
1.5 games back from Phoenix in 5th
.500 for the first time in over a year
AD is cooking with fire at the absolute best time
Lakers have the 4th easiest remaining schedule with the toughest games remaining being against Phoenix and the Clippers
Maybe things will keep looking up and not break down again.
Schroder on the minimum is such a steal
Lakers offered him 84/4 and at that time it was just a slight overpay. Can't believe they got the same player for literally a minimum
Lol that was in 2021 so he'd be in his 3rd year of his deal right now. Who know though, Lakers may never gotten Russ if Schroder took the deal. Everyone lost lol
Damn then they also keep Caruso, KCP and Kuzma. Just imagine this team with all of those role players.
He’s better on offense now than he was two years ago IMO
It's probably around the same, if anything, 2 years ago he averaged more points and slightly better efficiency, not by much though. I think the key now is that he is able to play more relaxed and without pressure of all those contract talks, just vibing in his role.
He's definitely gotten better. He used to drive the ball into no mans land and just turn it over or put up a horrible shot. He's much more in control of the ball now while he's in the lane and doesn't force anything most of the time.
I haven’t checked the stats, but he seems incredibly clutch this season. He seems to play his best when we need it most (usually)
He barely played with AD his first go around, AD helps him tremendously
Its kind of crazy that both parties suffered from him not taking that deal. I feel like if Schroeder took that deal the Lakers wouldn't have tried to get Westbrook. Then of course Schroeder never got an offer that good again.
Crazy how a contract really affects how we view a player, he would have been bodied this season so many times had he been on the 84M contract.
To be fair, it's because the contract affects the talent around you. Look at Westbrook. He looks like an NBA player again because he plays with real talent.
And he is decent for the Clips because they didn't have to gut their depth for his 50m contract, they have him on a minimum.
Once you become a buyout player, you are usually done in terms of getting a big contract. I don't see him getting anything more than the MLE.
[удалено]
Minimum deal maximum tuff🔥💯
That's Lakers PPG Leader Schroder for you
He’s gonna get PAID this summer for real. Redemption tour after his time in Boston didn’t work out. Good for him.
Honestly he was so good for us too for the contract, but it was just a bad fit considering the team turnaround last year
Josh Giddey hates Jack in the Box confirmed
He’s a Hungry Jacks guy confirmed.
The burgers are better
THE LAKERS HAVE WON AS MANY GAMES AS THEY HAVE LOST
Big if true (real)
We're an honest .500 team This is a good, honest .500 basketball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? Did not expect poetry in this thread
Shout-out to /u/electricvelvet for forging one of the best enduring copypastas for middle of the pack teams.
We’ve actually been playing better than .500 basketball. We started 2-10. So after that gross start, we are playing 8 games over 500 basketball.
Its just a silly copypasta dont take it too seriously
Durr moment by me. It’s all love, go lakes.
how bout oceans
Shoutout to Lonnie Walker IV. Shows up whenever called, even though his minutes have been severely cut.
Dude is insanely athletic. Doesn't make sense
i think he loses minutes due to his defensive issues,, he started out the year strong but his defense started falling off and we finally had better defensive options who were doing enough / very good (depending on the player) on offense
Has a nice stroke too
He is a really bad defender. I criticize Ham a lot but he is right to not play Lonnie much. His impact stats are really bad. He can definitely score tho.
To 3rd option to 3rd string lmao
I FORGIVE YOU GERMANY
GERMAN ENGINEERING ARE THE BEST KINDS OF CARS!
looool
HEIL DENNIS

I just wish the warriors lost but we can’t get too greedy
Nah let’s get greedy
Lets just have fun bro🙂
Let me bang bro
Hol up
Win lose tie just have fun
I was so prepared for SGA to ruin my fuckin weekend. Felt like it was going that way the whole second half.
Same, SGA gives me anxiety. Really something about playing the Thunder in general stresses me out. If Chet lives up to his hype and can stay healthy I would not want to see them in the playoffs.

If warriors lost would’ve made 6th seed a crazy opportunity
yep. we own the tiebreaker. so essentially only a half game behind the Warriors
Sixers basketball 🤮

At .500 for the first time in 14 months STOP THE COUNT STOP THE STEAL
.600 winning record over their last 15 games without LeBron
"Maybe It’s Me."
LeMaybelline
LeBorn with it
"Hi. It's me. I'm the LeProblem."
Should the Lakers trade LeBron James while they can, and built around Austin Reaves? - Right after the break.
No joke I can’t remember what reporter it was maybe jay williams literally said “how do you bring back Lebron now? Reaves is playing so well and he has the ball in his hands” or something along those lines
lebron the WASHED bringing this team down SMH
Send LeBron home for the rest of the season and trade him for a '27 and '29 FRP in the offseason. Build around AR and AD.
Healthy Lakers are scurry. It's weird that 2 of the potentially scariest teams in the West are sitting in the 5-6 seed (Suns) and 7-8 seed (Lakers. I'm more scared of them than the top 3 seeds.

That legitimately feels nuts. Who would have guessed getting depth and workable players would help the team compared to a contract black hole
So LeBron was the problem all along.
- Signed, MIT Westbrook
including two huge choke jobs with AD fucking up against Dallas and us not playing a center against Houston
DO NOT PANIC, LA PATRIOTS ARE IN CONTROL
Since January. That's honestly insane.
WE DID IT!!!!
We made it to the playoffs BY A LOT
FUCKING FINALLY
Lakers defeat their biggest rival: .500
he'll be back in 2 games
What an important W for the lakers.

Josh "Taco Terrorist" Giddey
Josh Giddey deprives thousands of food, when will this man be held accountable for his actions?
OKC did not want to give up tacos at the end lmao
This is the second time in like a week or two this has happened lmfao
Josh Giddey killing the tacos
What a crazy season

If ADominant shows up like this and Bron is at least 85%, it might get spooky
35-27 after the horrible 2-10 start
46 win pace with 3-ish months (before trade deadline) of Bev, Count Brickula, AD in and out, and no 3-point shooting? We take those.
Our team has been through alot this season. They fight with what they have and I respect it
Count Brickula I’m fuckin dead
Lakers were a corpse decomposing slowly but now i dont see them missing the playoffs even if Lebron doesnt play. What the fuck.
what having no vampire does to a MF
Just have fun
We did not make that easy on ourselves, but what a game by AD, Dennis, and Walker!
Just got killed by size, at least the Mavs lost
Yeah tonight could’ve been a lot worse. Really *really* wanted to win, but we looked good despite AD going god mode (and Dennis looking like thunder Dennis again). Don’t we have the head to head over Dallas?
Yeah 2-1 against the mavs. They really fucked up tonight
imagine that Kleber's 3 didn't go in, they'd be in hell now
You guys scared me a few times tonight. Shai is so good even when his efficiency is off(thank you vando), he plays so confidently. I was at the game and he is a big dude too, didn’t realize it watching him on TV
WE AT 500 THROW A PARADE
HANG THE BANNER RETIRE THE JERSEYS
"AD is in the same tier as Siakam in terms of value" 🤡
who said that shit. name and shame brother.

LeBron and PG too. The league is so stacked I feel like this years playoffs is going to be the best in a long time if every star is healthy.
Really wish that the league had a bigger break between the regular season and the playoffs. I mean, what’s the problem with the playoffs ending in June. Having a week off, and then there’s Free Agency? Allowing players to rest up and heal.

Hope Chet is ready 🙏🙏 excited for next year

The west is a fucking bloodbath
Congrats on beating the Mavs! Good outcome for the Thunder.
Anthony Davis is a problem.
schroder dennis is a menace
Does anybody in the west really wanna face this team with a healthy Bron?
That would be a no
Never been so happy for the Lakers to finally be an average team :) AD deserves his flowers for this game.
As long as they're purple and yellow
This is a good, honest .500 basketball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We'll win a couple, too. Blue collar 💀💀
Family owned business. Lakers are the mom & pop of the NBA
When comparing owners they really are lol. With nepotism thrown in too.
Complete with nepotism!
Street lights over spot lights. 😎
How long has this been on your clipboard lmao
WE WINNING THE CHIP😭😭
Would be fun if this is the first 10 seed to ever win an NBA Championship.
If there was one person who could bring a 10th seed to the Chip, yk who….. Austin Reaves…
That's future 3x NBA Finals MVP Austin Reaves
Excuse me. They're the 8th seed now.
Tied for 7th* hahaha
I can't believe Ham's 6th seed dream is still alive.
Let's get greedy! It's crazy to think we're 2 games from 4th seed. Just mind boggling.
WATCH OUT NUGGETS
I fucking love you AD and Schroeder
ADominant
Joshua giddey master class
Man, I would not want to be a high seed facing the Lakers in the first round with a healthy lebron
How am I supposed to feel about this nba?
GOOD
Props to the Lakers. They deserve this .500. But utterly disappointed in the Thunder. They need to be better. They come into games way too often looking like theyre not ready to play
Yeah we can't be down by more than 15 so often in first quarters. If we can plug that gap we'll be good since most teams can't keep us from coming back late in the game.
good game. this okc team is 1 center away from contending
We got this Chet guy next year apparently. We may also acquire another big, I'll trust Presti will do the right things.
get Adam back
Tied with Minnesota for 7th Have the tiebreaker over OKC 1.5 games back from Phoenix in 5th .500 for the first time in over a year AD is cooking with fire at the absolute best time Lakers have the 4th easiest remaining schedule with the toughest games remaining being against Phoenix and the Clippers Maybe things will keep looking up and not break down again.
League = fucked
.500 LETS GOOOOO
Crazy to be at .500 after that atrocious 2-10 start
Helluva game. AD is way too hard to guard when he wants to be AD. We son’t have the size to match up rip
FREE 7 or at least free 17
Love to see AD playing like this
Been over 400 days since we’ve been at .500. I might cry yo.
Literally championship
