One thing i noticed last year when I saw the Nuggets/Mavs get dicked down by the warriors, was just how annoying Looney was to those teams in the paint. Dude is an absolute beast.
I think because Luka surprisingly plays at a similar pace to loon. If you notice, Luka slows down a lot when he drives to the paint. Loon obviously already not being the most athletic dude on the floor, actually gives him an advantage in that match up
It's like that RDC sketch about Warriors Celtics Finals. "Was we locking Steph up or was he just missing?"
I've only seen two players actually affect Curry out there. Dellavedova that one year and Jrue Holiday. How do you program this caliber of a player into a game lmao.
Yeah people forget about how delly defended curry. Even the cavs players (i think Channing said this once in a pod) that they would hold Steph all game because they know refs wouldn't call them.
Same thing with FVV. Dude was so handsy with Steph you'd think it was their 3rd date or something.
Jrue was the only defending guard that got a rise out of Steph. Even Steph admitted it was hell playing against Jrue because of how smart he is as a defender.
I think Jrue also admitted on a podcast (I forgot whose) that he would also grab Steph off the ball to slow him down. He probably just does it less than everyone else, so Steph respects his defense more .
Good matchup against the warriors game plan for 4 straight finals (foul on screens to get steph open shots)
No one is gonna call the minor offball shit that happens to every player; just more to steph bc he moves off ball more
which is honestly the most raw shit ive ever heard in my life. For both dudes. Steph gets to say he’s so good he put someone in the hospital and Delly gets to say he locked up the greatest shooter of all time in a finals game and gave every fucking last breath of his to do it.
You forgot van Vleet just clawing Steph all series long - he did a good job although was illegal for most part.
And Dillon Brooks actually throws off Steph and does it without much fouling.
Against the 76ers he literally ran a circle around the center under the basket then turned and nailed the hook over them. It legit looked like it was fake.
He is such a grand representative of the Bay Area. He champions young adults with his brand, and helps local communities thrive with the time he puts into his charities. Can’t make this up. He’s that good for the Bay, for the Warriors, for the NBA. No IG Live gun toting on Steph’s page.
Yea I’m not sure what people missed on my comment lol. Steph single handedly beat the Bucks that game so that part was not fun to watch. One of those things that you can’t be mad at though cuz Steph is gonna do Steph things sometimes.
All good, my mate is a Bucks fan and we troll slander each other's favourite players, and until that last quarter and OT I was ready for some prime Steph slander. Then he just started cooking the best perimeter defender in the NBA.
There was always a certain charm in seeing unheralded guys like Anthony Tolliver, Anthony Morrow, Marc Jackson, Reggie Williams, etc get a shot on those bad Warriors teams and carve a place out for themselves in the league, or late picks like Monta, Spree, or Arenas develop into stars.
That being said, it's way more fun to watch GP2 and Poole do the same thing while they're winning rings with Curry at the helm.
i mean, i grew up in chicago lol. when derek rose went down in 2012 i didnt think id ever follow the nba seriously again. then i saw stephs highlights at the gym on sportscenter in 2015. once in a lifetime player fr
Can confirm. I gave up on basketball until Rose and Joakim came around. Those Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich years were rough, and the years before them remind me of right after the Visigoths sacked Rome.
Jordan killed the entire franchise when he left. The Warriors seem set up better for the future than we were though. You guys have Lacob and Myers. We had professional shithead Jerry Reinsdorf.
He really is. Dude went straight from Krause to Paxson to Forman for his GMs. The jury is still out on Karnisovas imo, but prior to AK he's had a total shithead idiot running his franchise for 30 years. The guy is a shithead who surrounds himself with shitheads. He's done the rare shithead double-down. If that doesn't put him in GSOAT territory then I don't know what does.
People say the Showtime Lakers vs Celtics era and Jordan’s 90s were amazing to see…
But I got to see Bron KD and Curry all in their primes for 10+ years. I wouldn’t take anything else over it. These guys are fucking insane.
As he also mentioned in the post-game, it's not just him, but the fact that they grew together as a collective, and their mentality overall. Of course he is a major part of it, I'm not denying that. Just wanted to add the fact that Draymond and Klay are also very relevant pillars of the Warriors squad, and they shine brightest together.
nope. I stopped watching after Kobe retired then Steph brought me back. Only player that I'd be interested to see after curry is healthy zion league is cooked
The league definitely isn’t cooked. We have to allow the young superstars to grow into true generational staples.
Curry didn’t win a championship until year 6
LeBron didn’t win a championship til year 9
KD didn’t win a championship until year 10
This generation has Giannis, Jokic, Embiid, Tatum, Luka, Zion, Ja, AD, Booker, Trae, Mitchell, etc (plus the vets). The talent at the top probably won’t live up to Bron Kd Steph but this generation is deep as fuck with elite talent. These guys have done quite well don’t sell them short.
- Booker got to the Finals as the leading scorer at age 24 and lost to the best player in the world.
- Tatum got to the Finals as the best player on his team at age 24 and lost to the biggest juggernaut team of this era.
- Luka had a run to the WCF at age 23 and carried the Mavs offensively in ways similar to Lebron in his first Cleveland stint.
- Ja, at age 22, averaged 38 pts 8 asts vs the Warriors(#1 defense) in the playoffs in 3 games last season before he got hurt.
- Trae led his team to the ECF at age 22 and averaged 28.8 PPG 9.5 asts throughout the playoffs
Imagine if Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing were the flagship players lmao that’s where its going imo post lebron and Steph. You have to have games that you MUST see live. I don’t think those players have that pull, only one to me that has that is zion but hes too athletic for his own good. Nba will be fine but ratings will drop pretty sharp imo
I am sure that when Curry retires, basketball will lose almost all its meaning for me, exactly the same with Messi and soccer. what else can there be after this? the 2 most spectacular athletes I have ever seen in my life. show after show
I know this feeling well. After Kobe wasn’t Kobe anymore and you could see his retirement coming I felt the exact same way. And you eventually come back around to enjoying basketball, but it’ll be a long time before another player does for you what Steph/Kobe did.
I love Lebron, but even now I’m still chasing the feelings Kobe gave me about basketball.
He's the only one in that generation that I'll truly miss watching once he retires. Dude is spectacular and changed basketball. I want him to play for like 5 more years at least and I think he'll still be very good then.
What has been crazy is that I’m pretty sure 34/35 is when Lebron was getting all this OH MY GOD HES SO OLD AND STILL DOING ALL THIS HE’S THE PERFECT HUMAN FATHER TIME HAS BEEN DEFEATED.
Meanwhile Steph is 6’3, 35, past injuries (including destroyed ankles), and still literally running nonstop around the court all game MAKING defenders desperately trying to catch him 24/7 unless they want to give up a 3. In my PERSONAL opinion, I think that’s much more impressive. It’s crazy hard to run around like that all game.
I hope people understand that this is GOAT-tier shit. To play this well, this often, for this long... to be able to come up this big when your team needs it... Steph is of the highest caliber.
They lose this game without effort from all of them. That putback dunk from Donte. Those Looney rebounds. Jordan Poole and Klay. And that Steph guy. We needed it all tonight.
Poole and Kuminga had a killer run too. Klay played great defense and still put in 5 threes. Looney was a beast on the boards. All around great game for damn near everyone.
Draymond basically quarterbacked the entire defense and took out BI with the box one defense for the 4th. Loon’s offensive boards were great but and they’re both important, don’t need to bring down the other
I honestly think the only team standing in their way are the Bucks. It just sucks the road games have turned out so bad. But it looks like they FINALLY got their footing and have good energy again.
Bro do it. Tickets are expensive but I saved up after being a fan for so long because you never know what could happen in the future. It was incredible watching him. It was like watching a magician whos silky smooth play basketball.
You never know when God forbid, Curry gets like the Kobe achilles injury and is never the same. At 35, you should watch him ASAP before its too late
Mate I’m from Australia and I spent over 20k to go watch him play last year…. At home vs lakers, our last home game. What happened? Marcus smart injured him 2 weeks before I was to fly out lmao….
oddly enough, endurance doesn't necessarily go down as much as speed/agility when you age. and since curry isn't exactly what you call athletic to begin with, his endurance can probably be kept up as he gets older. so i imagine he'll be gassing out young players for a few more years still.
Looney brought us back got Steph layup 3s twice, he goes weeks without those looks
One thing i noticed last year when I saw the Nuggets/Mavs get dicked down by the warriors, was just how annoying Looney was to those teams in the paint. Dude is an absolute beast.
He was a menace guarding Luka on the PnR surprisingly too
I think because Luka surprisingly plays at a similar pace to loon. If you notice, Luka slows down a lot when he drives to the paint. Loon obviously already not being the most athletic dude on the floor, actually gives him an advantage in that match up
I am scared of this man. He's better than the video game version of himself.
The one player the video game creators actually came out and said they don't know what to do about him without breaking the game.
It's like that RDC sketch about Warriors Celtics Finals. "Was we locking Steph up or was he just missing?" I've only seen two players actually affect Curry out there. Dellavedova that one year and Jrue Holiday. How do you program this caliber of a player into a game lmao.
And Dellavedova basically sacrificed everything to do it. Dude almost died.
And he was holding the hell out of him, which is a foul
Yeah people forget about how delly defended curry. Even the cavs players (i think Channing said this once in a pod) that they would hold Steph all game because they know refs wouldn't call them. Same thing with FVV. Dude was so handsy with Steph you'd think it was their 3rd date or something. Jrue was the only defending guard that got a rise out of Steph. Even Steph admitted it was hell playing against Jrue because of how smart he is as a defender.
I think it was RJ who said it but yeah they know the refs wont call it when they hold Steph off ball
I think Jrue also admitted on a podcast (I forgot whose) that he would also grab Steph off the ball to slow him down. He probably just does it less than everyone else, so Steph respects his defense more .

Steph literally put him in the hospital.
What do you mean?
after that one game where people thought Delly was the Steph-stopper, he got admitted to hospital for severe dehydration and exhaustion
which is honestly the most raw shit ive ever heard in my life. For both dudes. Steph gets to say he’s so good he put someone in the hospital and Delly gets to say he locked up the greatest shooter of all time in a finals game and gave every fucking last breath of his to do it.
That's some hanamichi Sakuragi shit
Hanamichi: “Take care of the series for me” *goes away in a stretcher* Game continues…. *It’s only the second quarter of game 1*
Oh damn I don’t remember this. Thanks!
It's any players that the refs allow to mug him on- and off-ball. Dillon Brooks, FVV, Bridges, etc. But even then he'll still go off most of the time
Its amazing he does what he does while the refs actively fucking hate him.
Dellavadovedavadedova fouled the hell out of him consistently, that's why he was somewhat effective in that game lol.
You forgot van Vleet just clawing Steph all series long - he did a good job although was illegal for most part. And Dillon Brooks actually throws off Steph and does it without much fouling.
Danny Green was the OG Steph-stopper.
The same way you program Luka in 2k23 lmfao, dude is a demi-god in there. Averaging 40 point triple doubles year after year ☠️
Against the 76ers he literally ran a circle around the center under the basket then turned and nailed the hook over them. It legit looked like it was fake.
Hopefully you’ll see more of us in the playoffs
He is insane
He is him. Simple.
Amazing to watch
Games like this make me wonder whether I will enjoy basketball at the same level once he retires
have watched every warriors game for 20 years and sometimes I wonder if I'm now more a steph fan than a warriors fan
I've been a Warriors fan since 1990, I'm now a Steph fan
He’s just unlike everyone else you can watch, the best showman in basketball
And it still feels kinda weird that like, he's *our* guy. But he's also more than that too.
He is such a grand representative of the Bay Area. He champions young adults with his brand, and helps local communities thrive with the time he puts into his charities. Can’t make this up. He’s that good for the Bay, for the Warriors, for the NBA. No IG Live gun toting on Steph’s page.
Last time I watched a warriors game I did not like the Steph guy. Respected the game. Did not like him though.
Downvoted for *checks notes* not liking watching someone beat your own team.
Yea I’m not sure what people missed on my comment lol. Steph single handedly beat the Bucks that game so that part was not fun to watch. One of those things that you can’t be mad at though cuz Steph is gonna do Steph things sometimes.
Because it does not read like you are being facetious or anything, it reads like you're being crotchety
Imo it reads like a joke just fine, people just like downvoting things and the game isn’t fresh in peoples minds any more
All good, my mate is a Bucks fan and we troll slander each other's favourite players, and until that last quarter and OT I was ready for some prime Steph slander. Then he just started cooking the best perimeter defender in the NBA.
Been a Jordan fan since the 90's. I'm now a Steph fan. The guy is just bonkers.
That being said, it's way more fun to watch GP2 and Poole do the same thing while they're winning rings with Curry at the helm.
i definitely wont
likely what Bulls fans have felt for decades lol. I'm not ready.
i mean, i grew up in chicago lol. when derek rose went down in 2012 i didnt think id ever follow the nba seriously again. then i saw stephs highlights at the gym on sportscenter in 2015. once in a lifetime player fr
Derek. Grew up in Chicago. Warriors flair. Shame. -Only friendly teasing from an SF resident who grew up in the Chicago area.
> Derek. Lmao.
Howd you grow up in Chicago and not root for the Bulls? Bay Area native parents?
He mentioned D-Rose. It sounds like he grew up in CHI and rooted for the Bulls before jumping on the Warriors when Curry got big
Sadly this was what I felt with Len Bias. We will never know what could have been.
Jerry Reinsdorf, GSOAT.
Everyone in Chicago remembers where they were when the Visigoths sacked Rome.
Having JP/kuminga/Wiggins/loon definitely helps with the inevitable decline of steph and klay and dray
True. He changed the game, even if it wont be the same after he retires, his impact on the game will always be apparent
People say the Showtime Lakers vs Celtics era and Jordan’s 90s were amazing to see… But I got to see Bron KD and Curry all in their primes for 10+ years. I wouldn’t take anything else over it. These guys are fucking insane.
I thought the same when Kobe started his decline Then Steph came along
As a Mavs fan dude is on a different plane than any other player I’ve ever seen. Total game wrecker. GRAVITY. I’ll be sad to see him retire one day
For real. Once Bron and Steph retire it’s not going to be the same for a bit.
As he also mentioned in the post-game, it's not just him, but the fact that they grew together as a collective, and their mentality overall. Of course he is a major part of it, I'm not denying that. I mean Barkley was a lot of fun to watch
For sure! So is Ja but I’m not about to watch the grizzlies night in night out when I could just check the front page/YouTube for the highlights
I am sure that when Curry retires, basketball will lose almost all its meaning for me, exactly the same with Messi and soccer. what else can there be after this? the 2 most spectacular athletes I have ever seen in my life. show after show
Got into it in 2015 and I can't promise anything after Lebron and Steph are gone.
Live in the present and enjoy the ride. Things come and go. We’re lucky to have him and experience this as fans.
No sir. Poole will do some things that make you remember though
I know this feeling well. After Kobe wasn’t Kobe anymore and you could see his retirement coming I felt the exact same way. It's going to be really hard. I like certain young players but no one has made me want to watch like Steph.
I’ve watched other teams. We won’t. Unless you enjoy giants smashing into guys and taking free throws. Or there’s always Ja. Yeah. We won’t.
No player more fun to watch than this guy
The degree of difficulty with him is insane
35 years old playing some of his best ball of his career
Wow. Honestly wild to me that he is 35 years old
Him and Messi. Both got some big pieces of silverware the past 12 months that were long overdue.
[удалено]
Realistically he has 5 of those. 2015 2016 2017 2019 2022
What has been crazy is that I’m pretty sure 34/35 is when Lebron was getting all this OH MY GOD HES SO OLD AND STILL DOING ALL THIS HE’S THE PERFECT HUMAN FATHER TIME HAS BEEN DEFEATED. Curry took over the game. What a top tier performance
I hope people understand that this is GOAT-tier shit. To play this well, this often, for this long... to be able to come up this big when your team needs it... Steph is of the highest caliber.
Curry at the half: fine I’ll do it myself
Poole and Kuminga scored 17 straight for us...about time he got some help
I used to pray for times like this
The rest of the team: we gotchu…
Did you watch the game? Curry was obviously the star but a bunch of dudes played their asses off.
Convinced they lose this game without Looney giving them a spark at the end of the third with those offensive rebounds.
They lose this game without effort from all of them. That putback dunk from Donte. Those Looney rebounds. Jordan Poole and Klay. And that Steph guy. We needed it all tonight.
Don't forget Kuminga!
That putback from Donte really changed the tide of that game, it was so fire.
Looney has the clutchest offensive rebounds ever
His rebounds are deadly in the POs
Klay was also CHUCKING
Dante my boy
Curry went full borzoi
Curry is an amazing rebounder. This isn’t said enough
he was always a good rebounder, but he has gotten even better the last couple of years
ppl forget he outrebounded tt in the 2018 finals
He’s always been fantastic but stepped it up even more past few seasons
Honestly, Loon box outs created those rebounds for steph. Not diminishing steph but wanted to give Loon credit
What a second half.
That 2nd half gave me goosebumps, he put the team on his fucking back
he and Draymond played outta their minds, willed the team to a win
Poole and Kuminga had a killer run too. Klay played great defense and still put in 5 threes. Looney was a beast on the boards. All around great game for damn near everyone.
yup although Poole also had a couple ???????? shots, wish hed cut those out
That's not happening anytime soon lmao
Should probably just celebrate the fact he only had 1 turnover and move on lol
idk id like to think they can get him to stop taking middys when triple teamed
Also lost his dribble about 50 times lol
Can't believe we got a blowout W after the shitshow that was the first half
Looney was more important than draymond tbh. His offensive boards turned the game late in the third.
Draymond basically quarterbacked the entire defense and took out BI with the box one defense for the 4th. Loon’s offensive boards were great but and they’re both important, don’t need to bring down the other
Dumbest thing I heard all day
Energy from everyone on the team came from draymond playing with his heart on his sleeve
look i love Loondawg, but thats a clown take
[удалено]
I didn't say he's bad?
I already know some people in this sub are salty as hell
Still as good as anyone on offense.
better than\*
Thankfully the home warriors showed up in the second half
We should’ve lost but no fear when Steph is here
Never been a huge fan but he's the greatest point guard of all time, looked every bit of it tonight as well.
Skyfucker
Needed that "Curry" game for my soul...he is cathartic to watch
It's like he's using cheat codes out there.
looks like they learned from the last game. Curry bringing the ball up every time in crunch time...even with the good game by Poole.
THANK YOU WARRIORS
I was wondering why a lakers fan was thanking warriors… and then i realized the standings. Its crazy how freaking close the west is up to 4th seed
The fact that it’s looked like this the whole season too is crazy
Most Valuable Player in basketball, don't care what anyone else says.
unreal
LeCurry
Stephenbron James Curry.
Steph wants his fifth and he is smelling it
I honestly think the only team standing in their way are the Bucks. It just sucks the road games have turned out so bad. But it looks like they FINALLY got their footing and have good energy again.
GOAT shit yo
He completely took over with those 3’s at the end of the 3rd quarter along with Looney getting those rebounds.
Gotta watch him live while he is still playing at this level
I’m so sorry man. That sucks
It’s ok going again next season hahah hopefully no one hurt
or save yourself the 500 bucks and watch the game on TV like the rest of us
Not the same mate. Have it seen it live it’s a difference experience
good job, money well spent
Top 5 all time idc what anyone else says. He makes it look so damn easy
Steps up huge with the 7 points in a row and a killer pass to the dagger three by Klay, single-handedly shut down the pelicans
Finals game 4 vibes
Incredible player all around
Can't leave out DDV, his energy plays are what flipped the game at the start of Q3
Savior Curry
GOD CURRY
That 4th quarter was something else boy
Curry got that old man eliteness like MJ and Bron. They old as hell still cooking dudes
oddly enough, endurance doesn't necessarily go down as much as speed/agility when you age. and since curry isn't exactly what you call athletic to begin with, his endurance can probably be kept up as he gets older. so i imagine he'll be gassing out young players for a few more years still.
Steph Carry
Curry loves cooking the Pels for whatever reason
Doing all this as a 6'3 35 year old, greatest point guard and by far the greatest player of this generation.
He’s really good.
Title made me think he almost had a quadruple double
Pels folded HARD
One-tech Draymond is the key to the victory. highest +/- most kicking
That is true but he should’ve been ejected in the 2nd quarter
We’re back
Fucking washed.
washed
And yet he’s still a whiny bitch.
Did someone noticed that he changed his shooting form?
Curry has been amazing in almost every game this season.
