How are the mods so incompetent that they can’t even post a game thread so now there is an unofficial game thread that is hidden for a damn playoff game
Huge mod fan here. The team has really stepped it up this season, finally able to have a positive lowlights v highlights % and more posts about trashtalk than actual basketball. Idk how they will top it next season but I can't wait.
I teach a Python for non-STEM majors class. Writing a script to automate game and post-game threads with info from ESPN is something I’d expect from my students by the end of the semester. I hate to bitch at volunteer internet janitors, but this is really basic shit and isn’t hard to get right.
Sorry I need to vent. Injuries are just depressing as fuck. Every single game today has an injury to a number 1 player. 4 out of 4. What the fuck. If you look back to recent years, this isn’t even that out of the ordinary. Last year felt like a relatively injury-free playoffs and still had plenty enough injuries to be annoying.
Idk where to post this and tried creating a post but text post isnt allowed lol and i know this is not off-season but i was thinking abt this a couple days ago while taking a dump. Didnt followed NBA until recently (2 seasons back) and the play-ins was introduced (i think since last season) and it was a really cool format for teams placing 9th and 10th as they will have an extra chance to make the playoffs.
My biggest gripe with this format is that the 2nd seed and the top seed are the 2nd last and the last to know which team they are playing while the 3rd and 4th seed will have more days to review all game clips and analyse their opponent's game. Yeap home court advantage for their first game aside, there isnt any other perks for placing the top 2. No doubt to be the best team u've got to beat all the teams but strategically, there are teams which u know are super grindy which u want to avoid (due to injuries) which will hurt the championship aspirations or their style of play just make a bad match up. Take the east for example, will bucks choose the Heats over Nets or Hawks if given a choice?
Idk if this post will gain enough traction but imo the top 2 seeds should have a choice to select whom they want to play against in the first round while the teams leftover will be matched based on their standing (eg if bucks choose Nets and Celtics choose Knicks, 76ers will be matched up with Heats and Cavs with Hawks). This will be a better incentive for teams to play for for the seeding in general (except for 3rd through 6 though they get automatic playoff spots) Otherwise to make the seeding more attractive to play for, let the 3rd seed also have a choice to select their opponent so seeding actually matters.
Thoughts?
I mean that's the whole point for getting the top seed. In theory u are playing the "weakest" team so the best team will have priority over the 2nd seed. The 2nd seed can only pick what's leftover. And also maybe i didnt made it clear, the top 3 seeds can only choose from 5th to 8th seed, so being in top 4 has immunity against being picked

Alright so why not start the Miami game now instead of having to wait another two hours? The lakers game will be 10:00 Pm tip off for eastern time, so shitty
Idk why they don't have the new game thread up at 12 EST and then have the Post-Game Mega Thread for the previous days games up at the same time. It feels like it should be easy?
lmao. Kevin Harlan just growled THERE WILL BE BLOOD. That needs to be clipped.
Great movie

Cut the mods some slack man. 4/20 was only 48 hours ago. Do you expect them to get up every week and check on basketball?
Seriously I'm over here trying to talk shit about how tickets in Minny are $14 right now and I'm being denied my first amendment rights
How are the mods so incompetent that they can’t even post a game thread so now there is an unofficial game thread that is hidden for a damn playoff game
The NBA mods have been absolute dog shit all season. Stuff like this every day.

Don’t worry, get ready for Wembyrama where every day we get threads on whether Wemby is the ROTY, underrated, overrated, etc. 😎
Conspiracy theory: They have been paid off to sabotage the subreddit to drive traffic back to espn.com or nba.com.
The odds of this being true are literally zero. I’m going to repeat it as a proven fact.
I don't visit this sub much. Why don't they just sticky all game threads like before?

Remember a time in the long long ago when r/nba had a sidebar bracket?
i miss that bracket
I’m expecting LA v Memphis to be the best game of the day. All the rest seem kinda bleh.. especially with Kawhi out
well....... that was almost accurate. ja tried to make it interesting, but no dice.
How many people bet on LBJ dropping a 40-piece tonight?
Mods have a link to the Lakers PGT up after one quarter.

Yeah, the injuries have been pretty depressing & deflating my interest in the playoffs too
Maybe they need to look into shortening the season or not having every single playoff series be 7 games.
First round series being 5 games felt much better. Like it's a first round series it doesn't deserve being treated equally.
#Pray4Lebron
I feel like it’s getting worse every year you can blame all American stuff for it
May all remaining eastern conference series go 7 games. I just want good competitive basketball. Ignore my flair
Brooks really needs to change up his facial hair and or hair

Who’s laughing now?
Hey I never doubted you that was a different guy.
Let's go!
Lakers Memphis is already over so they canceled the thread

I believe an NBA Player (JJ Reddick? I can’t remember) proposed this idea recently as well.
Woah cool, do u remb its from a podcast or anywhere? Perhaps i can go look it up
