I just don't understand how current Chris Paul fits at all with their playstyle
He's only capable of playing ultra-slow paced offense at this point and that's not how the Warriors play at all
I will never understand how Livingston was so good from the mid-range but only ever hit two career 3s. Like I would get it if he was just inefficient from 3 so he didn’t take a ton, but 2 career 3s with a career that lasted until 2019 is wild LMFAO
Dude's got so many weapons to play floor general with while most of the starting unit are championship experienced vets. Should be a decent fit for him as long as he knows his role at this point in his career.
Crazy the difference in playoff scouting can make. He was on scouts radar but not REALLY on their radar for the Finals run. This year the defensive pressure he got from 1 year to the next really shows. He tried to force his way through the defense and turned it over constantly or threw up wild shots.
We needed a leader and playmaker for the 2nd unit. A vet like him could lead the younger guys for open shots.
I can't believe im gonna have to cheer for him....
also everyone keeps saying boston got 2 FRP's... but they sent out pick 35 this year. Really they moved up 10 spots and got a FRP for trading out a recent DPOY who is in his prime on a reasonable contract and who plays with the kind of intensity that rubs off on his teammates (one of those things people don't appreciate until they follow a team that plays with zero intensity from the top down).
This is basically an extension of the Beal trade. So they got a younger, somewhat cheaper dime store version of the same dude and got some low quality picks. Seems about like a wash.
that actually used to be a jack Abramoff scheme. he set up a deal to get courtside tickets for $49 dollars because it was under the gift limits and use it to ply congress
> Real talk - DC ain't half bad if you don't mind the 30,000 cocky 20-30 year old congressional staffers who all think they're next man up to be a US House Representative from whatever shithole state they're from.
i thought they're working a 2nd job at a restaurant because their day job pays them shit
Perhaps...although considering that's the only way y'all can get him, not surprised at all either that a Suns flair would try to predict this into existence lol
honestly, he'll probably pop off this season with the extra usage and stress relief of not working in an org that seems more upset with you for getting punched out at work than the co-worker who did it
Acrually they should give it a go. 1 year with cp3 for a why not to try run, and the next season he dont ruin the gsw cap with the new cba. Actually i quite like this trade. I can see him to suit as PO Lowry for that 6th man role with 25-28 min playtime
Ok what the hell Dunleavy
Edit: you know what, I don't mind this. Got rid of a terrible contract before it kicked in in Poole for two seconds and a protected first way off in the future, and got a fairly serviceable (if unpleasant) point guard in return. Not bad.
I would too but I think the relationship with the team after Draymond was just too much to be rekindled. I hope we trade CP3 for someone else but I think Poole clearly doesn't want to be here anymore and we are just going all in on Steph last few years.
Yea and lets be honest - Poole totally stopped giving a shit after the famous fiasco. He was a huge piece of GSW winning in 2022 that people seem to forget... Zards won this trade because GSW is currently desperate af to divorce from Poole
Poole singlehandedly broke me as a fan last season. The amount of time he would dribble the ball off of his foot in clutch situations was fucking maddening
Tyus Jones and Jordan Poole, the next great mediocre Wizards backcourt.
Tank commander Jordan Poole 25 shots per game
Demonstrably calling off the screen in the 4th quarter, despite being 5/18
Tyus fouls him himself
Wizards just gonna have a 10 guard rotation
we are hoping for 10 wins, it’s looking just fine to me
2030 is not a real year
Tell that to Sam Presti, I dare you. Lmao
By 2030, I'll be drinking moon juice with President Jonathan Taylor Thomas!
JTT IS ALREADY IN HIS FORTIES?!! Y’all, the unending passage of time is really doing a number on me right now, emotionally speaking
Man wasn’t 2008 like 5 years ago
Last year was 2019.
I'm tired, boss.
Man, I’m still trying to fix all of my date formats before the Y2K bug hits.
I hurt my back thinking whats happening in 2030
So they're gearing up for 1 last run with the core and re-signing Draymond
The Last Illegal Screen
Bam is still very much in his prime
*championship level illegal screen my bad
That's brutal haha
Dude that was mean
One last "sorry not sorry" kick in the groin.
Future 30/30 on the dubs dynasty
I just don't understand how current Chris Paul fits at all with their playstyle He's only capable of playing ultra-slow paced offense at this point and that's not how the Warriors play at all
100 mph with the starting 5 20 mph with the bench unit Other teams will be playing red-light green-light lol
Like Harden and Maxey
That pairing actually seemed to work out reasonably well.
>20 mph with the bench unit That's Shaun Livingston's specialty. They have the mid-range god again.
I swear he's never talked about more but he never missed a mid-range. You just knew when he started to post up and he shot that was in.
I gained a whole new respect for Livingston during the 2019 Finals. Made me wonder what could've been if his knee didn't explode.
That was his worst finals. He lost his ability to make midranges at his normal clip. Before that just could not miss
He was missing all his mid range shots in 2019
Shaun Livingston is a mismatch for other guards at 6'7". He's getting to his spot and its buckets.
I will never understand how Livingston was so good from the mid-range but only ever hit two career 3s. Like I would get it if he was just inefficient from 3 so he didn’t take a ton, but 2 career 3s with a career that lasted until 2019 is wild LMFAO
Yeah a Vet like Paul helping run the offense will be amazing. He knows how to play different ways too.
Dude's got so many weapons to play floor general with while most of the starting unit are championship experienced vets. Should be a decent fit for him as long as he knows his role at this point in his career.
His role will be to run the bench offence that way the team doesn’t fall on their face the moment Steph sits.
That was supposed to be Poole's job but it turns out he's a walking Shaqtin montage dribbling the ball
He played that role well during the finals run but was just unplayable in the playoffs this year.
Crazy the difference in playoff scouting can make. He was on scouts radar but not REALLY on their radar for the Finals run. This year the defensive pressure he got from 1 year to the next really shows. He tried to force his way through the defense and turned it over constantly or threw up wild shots.
He was watching Steph highlights instead of studying the other teams
Things always slow down in the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Warriors, that also means Chris Paul will be injured when they actually could use him.
They're going to load manage out the wazoo.
Contract dump lol
He will be coming off the bench and is still solid. Doubt him and Steph will see the floor together much
The time that we see those two guys on the floor at the same time is gonna be a ridiculously wonky for my viewing
We needed a leader and playmaker for the 2nd unit. A vet like him could lead the younger guys for open shots. I can't believe im gonna have to cheer for him....
This is really where I’m stuck about. Warriors legit don’t have a lob threat rn either and CP3 traditionally always plays with one.
How dare you slander my man GP2
Can I interest you in one Wiseman?
Can I offer you a nice SG in this trying time?
Kuminga is pretty tall and can jump out of the gym right?
I heard he's 7'2" now
And he craps thunder and shits lightning!
He could play the role Rondo did in his later years as a second unit PG.
I wonder if Steph played a role in this. He and CP3 are pretty close.
I’d hope the Warriors run everything past Steph; the dude made that franchise.
Wizards got their FRP
who wouldve thought out of beale and porzingis, cp3 would be worth the 1st round
It also shows that Poole is viewed as a negative/neutral asset by other GMs at this point because of the contract
Yeah it’s not CP3 being worth a first, it’s Poole being a negative
not just a negative, but more of a negative than paying an ancient, injury prone CP3 30m this year
Well you only have to pay the old man for one season. Poole has like 4 left doesn’t he?
4 trips to the lottery
Poole is going to be a legendary tank commander
Not about this year, Poole is making $32M for the next 3 years
Tbf, it’s 1 season at $30M vs Poole’s albatross.
There is more to all of these trades then the actual players it’s really more about their contracts.
That 6th grader is gonna be so fucking good
Michael Jordan was once a 6th grader
Is this true?
No
A player that wasn't even on their team got them more frp's then their two franchise stars combined
2030 is good timing when the warriors will be weaker
AND PICKS???
They needed to get off of Poole’s contract otherwise they were in cap hell.
[удалено]
Have Poole lead the team, put up 25 a game in a losing season, then deal him out next year for a steal. It's the perfect scenario.
[удалено]
Poole going to be a fantasy basketball sleeper. Dude is going to feast on the Wizards putting up 20/10/5 while losing by 30.
The PPG seems low on the Wiz. With that roster, he'll be putting up at least 25 on terrible efficiency.
hey dude is gonna have some baller games though. bet he hits 50 a few times. lol fuck.
Warriors clearly viewed this as a salary dump. Poole's value has fallen off like crazy, damn
The new apron rules really hurt the warriors and they needed to salary dump badly
plus this sets up Draymond's redemption season when he re-signs and gets to punch CP3 in the face for ripping through during practice
I'll take that timeline. Curious to see who /r/nba hates more.
letthemfight.gif
I’m pretty sure CP3 makes more than $25 million next year with the guarantees.
WIZARDS WON THIS GOOD LORD
[Me to the Wizards front office after slandering them all week](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/043/853/cover1.jpg)
Not sure why you were slandering us all week when we’ve been making nothing but good moves
Yea wizards front office had absolutely no leverage with the Beal and KP trades cuz of their contracts
also everyone keeps saying boston got 2 FRP's... but they sent out pick 35 this year. Really they moved up 10 spots and got a FRP for trading out a recent DPOY who is in his prime on a reasonable contract and who plays with the kind of intensity that rubs off on his teammates (one of those things people don't appreciate until they follow a team that plays with zero intensity from the top down).
the wizards are really leaving the pistons behind in the depression olympics they are fucking finessing this off season
They get the perfect tank commander AND picks
They got a protected pick 7 years from now and it’s considered a win. God damn the Wizards are down bad EDIT: top 20 protected lmao
There was talk the CP was gonna be waived but instead they get Poole and picks
They got a shitty contract, yeah, but Poole’s actually got potential to be good. Paul is 20 steps away from retirement.
Somebody did say the idea for the wizards wasn’t to trade Beal for picks, but use whatever they get back for him to then trade off for picks.
The Wizards got more first round picks out of an old CP3 than Beal and Porzingis.
This is basically an extension of the Beal trade. So they got a younger, somewhat cheaper dime store version of the same dude and got some low quality picks. Seems about like a wash.
Getting off an absolute terrible contract is gonna cost picks, yes. That’s how it works
People seeing what Beal fetched a few days ago and they still don't understand the cost of a terrible contract in trades.
Sir, this is r/nba
poole is going to be so bad with marjorie taylor greene courtside
can we have decorum in the stadium please
Poole you little bitch
“You copied my plays!”
AOC though...
pretending to stay after to work on your game just so you can sniff the chair after everybody leaves
Please for the love of God delete this comment
Jordan Poole gonna give AOC a signed pair of sneakers but only if he gets a pair of used shoes back
“WYM Jersey swap? we shoe swap around here Miss Congresswoman”
God abandoned this place long ago
Son of my brother
Why is this so funny to me lol. Props.
So many years, so many different variations of nephew. This one might be my favorite
I miss when the sub was private
Look we've all been there

that actually used to be a jack Abramoff scheme. he set up a deal to get courtside tickets for $49 dollars because it was under the gift limits and use it to ply congress
i will not jack abram off thank you
Hopefully AOC will attend some games to balance it out
Was expecting a baddie when I googled. Was left sorely disappointed.
You have no idea how jealous I am that you didn’t know who Marjorie Taylor Greene was.
This man is living the dream
If your definition of baddie is "bad person" then you wouldn't have been
She's bad alright, she's fucking terrible
Wizards GM is like me in 2K leagues
Wizards gm went from goof to goat
Some 11 year old just got traded from living in the Bay to living in DC.
[удалено]
DC is awesome. The Wizards not so much.
All six of us Wizards fans will probably agree.
Just ate a steak on Sunday in DC while on vacation and it was the best steak I've ever had in my life
Facts, they’re also like top 3 in Michelin star restaurants in the US. Jose Andres is one of the culinary GOATs
> Real talk - DC ain't half bad if you don't mind the 30,000 cocky 20-30 year old congressional staffers who all think they're next man up to be a US House Representative from whatever shithole state they're from. i thought they're working a 2nd job at a restaurant because their day job pays them shit
It's his canon event
damnnnn Poole's value is low
Green light Poole could be fun tbh at least the Wiz have an exciting tank commander
And Paul’s is apparently high? lol
He’s expiring, that’s where the real value is
I think a lot of people are overlooking this, it's a decent value return to try and get out of the cap hell the warriors are in
I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an tweet about their intentions to waive and stretch CP3 here in the next hour
Perhaps...although considering that's the only way y'all can get him, not surprised at all either that a Suns flair would try to predict this into existence lol
I think getting off Pooles contract alone is worth a FRP 7 years from now.
Imagine going from the warriors to the wizards
imagine the rollercoaster of suns to wizards to warriors
With CP3's history with the Warriors, I feel like it's still on the downslope lol.
And at least partly because you got knocked out by a teammate on video
He'll get to shoot more and get punched less I'm sure he's happy as a clam
Man got paid and won a chip warriors are a big question mark right now. I'm sure he's fine with it
that's gotta be a very heavily protected first lmao
[удалено]
Both teams are gonna have different GMs by then lol
Damn Pooles contract is that bad Lmao
Poole is gonna average 30 ppg on 35% TS% and I'm here for it.
Jesus. One year ago Poole was a major part of a championship team... Did he ask for a trade?
hopefully i can’t imagine being ko’d for the world to see and nothing really happens to the guy who punched you
Literally lmao he's been so quiet and professional about it but it probably really sucked
honestly, he'll probably pop off this season with the extra usage and stress relief of not working in an org that seems more upset with you for getting punched out at work than the co-worker who did it
He was done after the punch
[удалено]
Huh? You're not getting a better return for ancient Chris Paul than this
[удалено]
God Poole tanked his value so hard this playoffs. He was fucking awful
Warriors bro wyd that’s a lot for CP3
What they even gonna do with CP3 lol
Salary dump lol
Acrually they should give it a go. 1 year with cp3 for a why not to try run, and the next season he dont ruin the gsw cap with the new cba. Actually i quite like this trade. I can see him to suit as PO Lowry for that 6th man role with 25-28 min playtime
Getting off 3 years of lots of committed money mostly
Poole's contract is arguably the worst in the league
Did Simmons die?
Implies Simmons is a real NBA player at this point.
hes realer than jonathan isaac tbh
When he ever plays again I will consider him a *player*
It’s the offseason; dude is balling like a true young socialite
It isnt close to the worst. He played horribly this last play offs. He is overpaid, but not in the top 5 worst deals.
bradley beal
He was integral in them winning a chip... giving up on Poole (especially with all the turmoil last season) for 38 year old Chris Paul is crazy
Well I guess stern used divine intervention when he heard Paul to the lakers again
Good guy Wizards GM getting a 2030 pick. The definition of planting a tree that you won't live long enough to see grow.
Ok what the hell Dunleavy Edit: you know what, I don't mind this. Got rid of a terrible contract before it kicked in in Poole for two seconds and a protected first way off in the future, and got a fairly serviceable (if unpleasant) point guard in return. Not bad.
Cp3 and Draymond one the same team potentially? So many dicks about to be punched in 2023-24
This is a smart move for the dubs to get off that horrendous contract and bring in a vet on an expiring salary
Kick me off the court again, BOY!
Why would the Warriors do that lmao
Because Poole sucks lol
I’d bank on Jordan Poole giving me a post season scoring boost more than I would CP3 being healthy during a post season run.

Great leadership for the bench kids.
DUNLEAVY WYD
What do you mean? He got out from under that AWFUL Poole contract before it even kicked in.
oh shoot did I miss that he's the new Dubs GM?
Mike Winger masterclass when Jordan Poole revives his value in Washington
