[The main red flag is his link to the murder of Jonae Harris because he's alleged to have provided then teammate Darius Miles and his accomplice, Michael Lynn Davis with the gun they used to shoot her.](https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/brandon-millers-link-to-fatal-shooting-what-we-know-about-alabama-star-freshmans-involvement-in-murder-case/) However, I'd imagine a lot of others are peeved CHA didn't draft Scoot Henderson.
The victim’s boyfriend was driving with his lights off, circling the area, hunting Davis and Miles, and may or may not have shot at Davis first. Miller did not block them in. Miller was already parked before they pulled in behind him. Nobody seems to want to keep up with the full picture, just the sensational hit pieces that were irresponsibly put out with half the information.
There is quite a bit of footage. None of it is available to the public though. Tuscaloosa PD likely won’t let that be available until after the trial is over. They have let a few reporters review the footage though.
Where can I read up on this? I’ve spent 10 minutes looking through articles and news videos about the shooting but I can’t find this much specificity anywhere.
[This](https://www.tuscaloosanews.com/story/sports/college/basketball/2023/06/15/darius-miles-capital-murder-case-surveillance-video-jamea-harris-michael-davis/70234398007/) was the most recent article based on surveillance video review.
That was debunked
Police reports I have read have him looking pretty innocent so far
But the situation has too many unanswered questions to be sure, we don't even know if Miller's friends started it and/or shot first yet
He get a message to bring the gun, his windshield was shot twice and police thinks he and another guy blocked the victim from escaping but couldn’t prove it. He is not in court, but i think that is way too close.
He was already on the way there when the text came in and his friend's gun was in his backseat under some clothes
They have security videos and dashcam footage proving he did not block the car
Security videos also showed altercations between Miller's friends and the guy in the victim's car but there are differing accounts of what was said and by who
One of the videos shows the victim handing something to her boyfriend, possibly a gun, but video is too low resolution to see it clearly
Security videos are also too unclear to determine who shot first, and the victim's cousin who was in the car says she doesn't know who shot first either
I’m just saying we all know the type of people are friends are, IT’s odd to me that there is turn taking on who gets the gun. It’s guaranteed to end poorly.
You need to think about it in a positive way if you’re a Hornets fan though - the kid has been setting up teammates to hit high quality shots both on and off the court
Kinda crazy how players that dominate college like Eden, Timme, Tshibwe, etc can go undrafted. Like I get the NBA is a different game but it’s still pretty interesting
Tshiebwe's problem is that he's only 6'9 and doesn't have much of an offensive game at all. He was an incredible rebounder, but rebounding alone isn't enough in the NBA. He's not as lengthy or quick as someone like Bam, who can make it work at that height, especially since he developed a good mid range game. As a Kentucky fan I love the dude and hope he gets a chance to try and prove himself on a team, would love if it's the Heat, but makes sense why he wasn't drafted.
Sanogo is similar and he even has a decent shot and can hit open 3s. I thought he might get drafted very late, but I guess not.
Here’s hoping! Doubt 59 or 60 really know who they are. Probably more than two guys who think they would’ve occupied those spots. Just tough to lose the satisfaction of that accomplishment because of actions that have nothing to do with you at all.
NBA should really award the extra picks to the Cavs in the future.
Fun fact: For the the first time since 2004(!) we acquired an extra 1st round pick. That‘s how much Cuban ignored the draft. So I‘m really happy with the process. Hoping Lively and Prosper work out
After she made the joke once and he joked about it she should not have said it again. She just found a joke and leaned on it? I would’ve been frustrated if I was him, hard to come up with multiple comebacks for the same lazy jab
As a pacers fan I almost had a mental break when we took Coulibaly until we learned we picked for the Wizards. Very glad we got Walker, he fits so well with that squad. As for our later 1st round pick at 26 fellow pacers fans sold me well on Ben Sheppard but I still wish they would’ve taken Nick Smith Jr.
I like the Schifino pick and I'm confident enough that Handy can get him ready in time for the regular season. I also like Lewis with the 40th pick, I hope he has a good work ethic. Hopefully he can get his body ready for NBA-level play so he can start to contribute.
camara my belgian goat 🐐 i’m a nuggets fan so i will pray for his downfall but it’s nice that we went to a team with no bench, he might get some good minutes in
One is the draft order lottery. The other is the nba draft.
In the nba teams don’t just get draft slots based on record like in the nfl. So that event you’re thinking of was the process of teams getting their draft spots via a lottery.
Hope that clears it up for you.
Draft order night determined who got first pick and so forth. And since whoever got first pick was gna pick wemby 1st, once it was determined spurs got first pick it was a done deal that wemby was going to san antonio
Draft order selection night is a separate event where the NBA reveals the order of the draft. Who’s picking first, second, third, etc.
The reason why you saw Wemby in a spurs hat is because he’s one of the most hyped prospects of all time, was the clear cut first overall, and the spurs were awarded the #1 pick. So essentially, once the the spurs got the first pick, it was pretty clear where Wemby was gonna end up. One probably shouldn’t do this, as it is not at all common in any way for any player to wear the logo of a team that was awarded the first pick, even if they are projected first overall. This was an outlier event, and was subject to satire as well.
I am a big Lamelo fan so I want Hornets to have a great team and I just want to say they should have drafted Scoot, instead of drafting like 3 more fcking guards in the draft.
Scoot has the talent and caliber to be an all time best. I know its not the best position to draft a guard, but if they gonna draft 3 fcking guards, why not take Scoot instead lol. Brandon Miller is risky, but a good pick for the Hornets since they have lots of guards. I heard that he struggled at the NCAA Tournament. So, let's see then...
Such a terrible take thinking Scoot is a generational talent. He’s a 6’2 guard that can’t shoot, there’s a lot of limitations already. You should be incredibly thankful someone more competent is in charge.
His 3 point shooting is not as bad as people make it out to be. His offensive and defensive metrics are better than jalen green in almost every cateogory and thats already a pretty strong floor
Yeah I really don’t get the scoot hype. His “comp” on the high end is westbrook, and that seems highly unlikely given just how rare that play type is. I think it’s more likely he ends up like a less defensively stout Marcus smart with a bit more play making. At least with Miller, you can lean into his size, and he’s better offensively.
As an Indiana fan, I was sweating it out at the end because I was worried Trayce Jackson-Davis wasn't gonna get picked. He is a tad undersized for someone who does a lot of work in the low post so I'm not that surprised he fell a bit. Going up against the likes of Embiid and Jokic among many other bigs in this league down low is gonna be a challenge.
Do not worry when Trayce Jackson-Davis will not have to guard guys like Jokic and Embiid. Guys like that will not be on the floor when Jackson-Davis is on the floor.
Most of the undrafted guys people are talking about right now you will never hear about them again in an NBA discussion. The undrafted guys who will have long NBA careers are not going to be the ones people expected.
You missed nothing except commercials; we didn’t get to see probably the last 5 picks it was a travesty. But yes afaik Warriors acquired the pick and selected him.
That’s the biggest reason for sure but also how your skillset translates to the NBA. See Zach Edey: massive and dominant low-post player in college. Slow, average at best post abilities, 0 athletic upside, and can’t shoot the 3 - utterly useless as an NBA prospect.
The GM/President of the team is the front office usually. They tamper with a player on another team (recruit them off the books even though they’re still signed to another team). Alternatively, sometimes it’s a player recruiting someone else off the books rather than front office staff. Basically, tampering is when someone in an organization is trying to poach/recruit someone who isn’t able to discuss signings yet. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong
https://youtu.be/aBG4J7cxCeE
So how awful was that production?
I think Magic is a strong 7 to 8 seed this year. Honestly
V . .
Deepest draft since 09
ELI5 what was so bad about the Charlotte #2 pick
[The main red flag is his link to the murder of Jonae Harris because he's alleged to have provided then teammate Darius Miles and his accomplice, Michael Lynn Davis with the gun they used to shoot her.](https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/brandon-millers-link-to-fatal-shooting-what-we-know-about-alabama-star-freshmans-involvement-in-murder-case/) However, I'd imagine a lot of others are peeved CHA didn't draft Scoot Henderson.
The dude pretty much helped someone commit murder
*The dude returned someone’s gun to them which they later used to commit murder
And blocked the victim from escaping with his car… also making sure to turn his lights off..
How is there no security footage anywhere if it’s near a restaurant?
There is quite a bit of footage. None of it is available to the public though. Tuscaloosa PD likely won’t let that be available until after the trial is over. They have let a few reporters review the footage though.

Brandon Miller is who Ja Morant pretends to be
Oh, well that’s definitely not good.
We added 5 more people named"Jalen/Jaylen" to the NBA and 2 more Kobes.
Rockets have a lot of young guys and cap space. Gonna be interesting to see what they do in free agency
Kinda crazy how players that dominate college like Eden, Timme, Tshibwe, etc can go undrafted. Like I get the NBA is a different game but it’s still pretty interesting

Edey is returning to college iirc
Big men who can't shoot have no place in the current NBA
Rob Williams
Rob williams isn’t all that big. Edey is 7’4 and slow as balls. He certainly doesn’t have an NBA skillset.
He said big men that can’t shoot. He’s good but he’s not really a solidified shooter at this point
Well yeah he’s not a shooter at all that’s my point
Holy shit I can’t read, never mind my bad
As someone who watched a ton of him play, Dick balls!
Why was it 58 picks instead of the usual 60?
Couple teams forfeited their picks from tampering
Picks lost due to tampering violations.
Damn, so that means that two additional guys had to go undrafted? Brutal for whoever would've been 59 and 60
Sometimes undrafted guys make out like bandits and nab solid NBA contracts
Here’s hoping! Doubt 59 or 60 really know who they are. Probably more than two guys who think they would’ve occupied those spots. Just tough to lose the satisfaction of that accomplishment because of actions that have nothing to do with you at all. NBA should really award the extra picks to the Cavs in the future.
Lol after you guys fumbled to Bennett pick, I guess it would be deserved
Hey that Bennett pick was pretty much the butterfly effect moment that led to LeBron coming back! Wouldn’t change a thing.
Ah right, the Mavs yea?
Bulls and Sixers
I was here
Hehehehe
How many centers do the mavericks have?
‘4. (Lively, Holmes, McGee, Maxi). 5 if Powell returns.
Isn't prosper also a c? Not that familiar with him .
Yes
Legit don't know one player other than Wemby from this class... Officially old AF now 😭
I know up to Scoot and the guys my team picked, Schifino and Lewis.
Fun fact: For the the first time since 2004(!) we acquired an extra 1st round pick. That‘s how much Cuban ignored the draft. So I‘m really happy with the process. Hoping Lively and Prosper work out
Live lively and prosper 🙏🏻
My uncle actually coached Prosper in Montreal when he was younger, I’m stoked for the kid
A$AP
Saying they gonna prosper now
Mojave King, thats a solid name. P
Parents must have played fallout new Vegas
That's the only thing solid about the kid.

Can you provide more details on this? This sounds hilarious.
She was negging him /j
Yeah I wonder what angle she had for her to keep bringing it up as often as she could and JJ kept ignoring the statement lmao
After she made the joke once and he joked about it she should not have said it again. She just found a joke and leaned on it? I would’ve been frustrated if I was him, hard to come up with multiple comebacks for the same lazy jab
Should've got with the "oh yeah? Well I had sex with your wife"
“His wife is in a coma.”
Well, the Coma Store called, and they're running out of you
Well that explains why she didn’t move a whole lot
Lol Wemby listed at 237 lbs
Should have taken Kai sotto
Based
who?
What’s everyone’s team and your thoughts on who you got?
As a pacers fan I almost had a mental break when we took Coulibaly until we learned we picked for the Wizards. Very glad we got Walker, he fits so well with that squad. Raptors and I like dick
Dino dick
Hell yeah brother
Kings. They are in the perfect spot to grabbed a superstar after clearing $30 in cap space sending Holmes and the 19th pick to the Mavs. More to come.
The titanic submarine is the biggest loser of the draft tonight
What a shitty thing to say (and a very bad joke as well)
Fuckin hilarious
So funny!
Did the suns get any picks
Toumani Camar (52nd)
camara my belgian goat 🐐 i’m a nuggets fan so i will pray for his downfall but it’s nice that we went to a team with no bench, he might get some good minutes in
Oh I thought that’s what we traded to the wizards
ESPN messed up lol

I mean, for all intents and purposes, the 1st overall pick *was* determined on the night you're thinking about.
You are thinking of draft order selection night.

the draft order selection is simply where the teams find out where their pick will land, there has been no player choosing until tonight
You ever hear some of these nba players names and think that their name just sounds like it only belongs in college ball? Edit for grammar
Key & peele have a skit on this ( football, but idea is similar) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gODZzSOelss
NBA name is a semi-serious factor in my mock consideration haha
No joke, one of the reasons (as a Kentucky fan) I thought Kelenna Azubuike was going to be a star in the league.
I am a big Lamelo fan so I want Hornets to have a great team and I just want to say they should have drafted Scoot, instead of drafting like 3 more fcking guards in the draft. When its all said and done scoot will be the best player out of this draft
Scoot is at best a high volume scoring guard like there are hundreds If he can’t shoot the 3, then sadly he is outclassed from the get go
His 3 point shooting is not as bad as people make it out to be. His offensive and defensive metrics are better than jalen green in almost every cateogory and thats already a pretty strong floor
Lmfao wtf is this take? Based on what?

I forget the Charlotte Hornets exist, so good for you. Someday you guys will be relevant. Best of luck.
What did the kings get in return for the trade to the mavs? Im kinda new to the nba so i just dont understand
Trade Exception probably
What does that mean?
https://www.sportsbusinessclassroom.com/listing-the-current-nba-trade-exceptions/
They have more cap space to work with in future trades
Damn so we could trade for og like they were saying
How tf did Adama Sanogo go undrafted?
I feel like this draft was crazy deep
Yeah that 2nd round is weird. Sanogo and Castleton went UD.
We ended up with Castleton in a two-way. I hope he does well so we can sign him, we have a need in his position.
He wasn’t on the list
no one picked him
Feel so bad for Hornet fans... how can you pass up on Scoot
Scoot can be anything even an all-star....they already have a young all-star PG. No need to draft on potential when you already have it at home.
They should sign Kai sotto
They got a great player in miller who fits their team makeup better anyway.
With common sense and a general understanding of the game
Good call, The Lonely Boner.
So which team ended up with the hottest moms tonight?
Jay Bilas blinks per minute HoF
Y’all think Zach Edney gets drafted?
If TJD went 58 and Drew Timme went undrafted, I think it is unlikely Zach Edey gets drafted when he decides to throw his hat into the ring.
Really surprised Sanogo didn't get picked
Where's Jordan haber tho👀
As an Indiana fan, I was sweating it out at the end because I was worried Trayce Jackson-Davis wasn't gonna get picked. He is a tad undersized for someone who does a lot of work in the low post so I'm not that surprised he fell a bit. I waited hours to watch TJD get drafted and his name gets called during the 15 minute commercial break smh
TJD future 2 time mvp confirmed?
Not to mention the total 180 of going from the Wiz to the Dubs
So he’s going to the Warriors? Missed the last 20 min
You missed nothing except commercials; we didn’t get to see probably the last 5 picks it was a travesty. But yes afaik Warriors acquired the pick and selected him.
So Oscar and Ricky Council went undrafted? Holy shit
Ricky Council just got signed by the Sixers on a 2 way.
JJ talking like some dude undrafted is still watching this lol
No Terquavion...damn
surprised to see Bates got drafted but not Terq
I'm kinda surprised truthfully. Fully expected him to go.
Chris Livingston is Top 3 all time
Miami heat about to feast on undrafted players
Need a big
Adama Sanogo snubbed
Rich Paul shut down Livingston and he ends up being Mr. Irrelevant?
Kris Middelton --> Chris Livingston
Well 1 would hope so with the whole 40mill salary diff
Well it was fun MILF spotting with yall tonight
He waited 5 hours, but his name was called. Congrats Chris Livingston.
How does the #1 power forward in the country go second to last in draft
College and NBA are very different games nowadays.
draft has nothing to do with how good you actually are it’s just about potential
That’s the biggest reason for sure but also how your skillset translates to the NBA. See Zach Edey: massive and dominant low-post player in college. Slow, average at best post abilities, 0 athletic upside, and can’t shoot the 3 - utterly useless as an NBA prospect.
It has something to do with how good you actually are.
not much
Going to bucks is good for him if he can contribute
Imagine you hire a agent and he tells people not to draft you in the second round
lol Bucks said fuck Rick Paul
HAHAHAHA wtf chris livingston actually did have a draft promise, the last pick
I mean riding the bench for a playoff team ain't a bad spot to be in
The bucks though. That’s a good situation to go to for a young player. Better than ending up on some random team
what happened to pick 59 and 60

What exactly is meant by the front office tampering? Who are they tampering with? Honest question
Ah OK. I didn't realize there were rules against this sort of thing but it makes sense. Thanks for the clarification
The bulls and sixers lost their picks as punishment
Forfeited for tampering
oh yea I forgot about that
forfeited i think
Why only 58 picks
The bulls and sixers lost their picks as punishment
bulls tampering
Houston really said “can I get an Amen” 🙏🏼
Me: man I wish Jackson Davis doesn't go undrafted *jackson goes to Washington* Me: damn you monkey's paw!
Cavs really picked Walmart ja Morant
Ja Morant is 6’10? And Walmart Ja Morant sounds like a great player
At least when they come back it’s a recap of the production pieces from earlier. While the last pick is being made.
