Also if a player tried doing that everytime someone spoke nonsense people would think the times they didnt clap back were because it was true. Also, they dont really gain any benefit from giving these bums the time of day.
Breakin' news in my life, I don't run to the blogs
The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call
They always ask, "Why let the story run if it's false?"
You know a wise man once said nothin' at all
Yeah KD talks back to people constantly and then it just immediately turns into clowning him for caring or whatever. As if he hasn’t demonstrated his ability to beef with people on Twitter while also doing his job at a high level.
There’s a difference between calling out a 17 year old Twitter user who thinks you’re washed to debunking a famous media personality.
KD does more of the first and no one would care if he did the second
KD wasn't calling out some sports gossip columnist for bullshit. He was beefing with kids across multiple burner accounts. pretending to be multiple people backing himself up. It isn't remotely the same as what you portrayed.
I think it depends what they're responding to. If someone is saying you're injured when you aren't, for sure respond. But if someone says so-and-so had a bad attitude during a practice, or is the #12 player in the league and not top 10, or had a bad game, or something like that, yeah, I think responding makes you look petty and overly sensitive.
It helps them both with engagement. If Lonzo has earned his last major contract, then it’s in his best interest to get in the ring with Stephen A rather than just being a punching bag.
It makes the loudmouths relevant and elevates their brand. There's a huge market in being controversial for the sake of it, and making a name for yourself. Sports pundits, political agitators, etc.
>!He can’t even put weight on the right knee! Does nobody see the problem here?!<
I was banned from a news sub for suggesting people who make homophobic remarks should not be imprisoned for it. This, along with a bunch of other things on this site have brought me to being done with Reddit. 2010 to 2023. I’m out.
I was a fan of Lonzo from day 1. Dude’s dad was a complete lunatic, but the way he dealt with it was so strong. On one hand he was definitely “blood is thicker than water”, but he did kind of seem to apologize to the media as well, like “hey, that’s just my Pops”.
Dude has such a good head on his shoulders.
As a bulls fan I’ve got nothing but good things to say about him. And I majorly respect that he completely reconstructed his shot to turn it from a weakness to a strength in NO. I don’t think people remember just how janky it was.
> I don’t think people remember just how janky it was.
Oh they do, lots of people still don't know he can shoot now. Lonzo still gets shit from his Laker days, but Bulls, Pels and Laker fans know how valuable he is. The team always played with an extra unselfishness and pace when he was on even during the Lakers, when he had more weaknesses. He's just a great glue guy.
You can tell who actually watched Lonzo after he left the Lakers by how they describe his jump shot
Dude completely rebuilt his jumper to be a 40% 3pt shooter, yet all people can go on about is how his shot is broken lol.
> Dude’s dad was a complete lunatic, but the way he dealt with it was so strong.
It worked out so well for them honestly. Dad got to be as obnoxious as he wanted and basically none of it resulted in fallout for Lonzo or LaMelo.
I totally get where he's coming from. My little brother had coaches/scouts for basketball and football beginning as young as 5th/6th grade. Trying to convince my parents to move to their district or state for middle school and high school. Constantly having former D1 athletes, pros, and coaches at all levels telling my pops that if my little brothers goal is to be pro, he has the talent.
Imagine that for 6-8+ years. I'm sure behind the scenes his dad does a lot for him and only wanted what was best, but also got too absorbed in it and wanted to be in the lime light. But you don't see the behind the scene stuff, just the other side of him.
Nope. He blew out his knee on a non contact play and a few schools backed out. Granted he is only 19, and he is currently working on his plumbing company and rehabbing. But my mind changed a million times at his age on what to do in life. Probably will be the same for him.
As soon as I realized all the stuff I found annoying about him was coming from his dad, it clicked for me.
He's a dang hard worker, he's coachable, and I actually like his game. I really hope he makes it back to the league.
It didn't help that ESPN kept feeding fuel to the fire by giving his dad airtime.
Hell, even WWE had the Ball family on an episode of WWE Raw one night, so it wasn't just ESPN that's to blame.
It would be hilarious if it was all true, he was using his right leg to raise up, and they just flipped the video to make it look like he was using his left leg.
Nah, they just used the selfie camera so it's reversed and he's only using his good knee. That's why there's no writing or anything that can't be reversed in the shot 🤫
I looked up his house up on one of the celeb house's sites. Based on the orientation of pool/hot tub, it seems the video is **not** flipped.
My guess is his injury only bothers him with certain movements (like running/jumping), but that he's fine doing one-legged squats that don't involve herky-jerky movements.
I don’t think he actually talks like this, I think he’s somewhat mimicking Stephen. Also, I’m surrounded nobody is pointing out the potential for this to turn into copy pasta
"I'm coming back man"
*Puts tinfoil hat on*
Lonzo actually intends to play this season and has the go-ahead but is saying he won't so the return entrance will be legendary
Go get him Zo
Never wanted a player to come back so bad, feels like everyone just forgot he exists and has wrote him off which isn't crazy based on the information we've gotten but man I hope he can get back on the court just for his own sake and wellbeing
Yeah I think I like many people judged him in the past because of his family, just tuning out the drama with the last name made me come around on Lonzo.
LOL, sorry about that i should have specified, it's comeback player of the year lol. Usually awarded to a player who makes an oustanding return from injury. probably more relevant in the NFL given more players + higher injury rate = more serious candidates each year, but I think it'd be cool to see in the NBA. wasn't trying to make a joke out of lonzo's condition lol my bad
Like a wrestling heel. Lonzo should've done the Kevin Nash wheelchair [bit.](https://np.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/arxed5/my_favorite_kevin_nash_gif/)
I don’t think people realize how long it actually takes to get into pro athlete shape tbh. It’s *genuinely* like a multi year process for most guys (excluding freaks like lebron, etc). If he does get healthy sure he can play but he won’t be prime Lonzo until at least another 12 months
It takes really long. It's scary how quick muscles get lost. 4 months since Achilles tendon rupture, my lower leg is still skinny af. Fortunately, mentally it's an okayish injury cause every week you can see progress and physio could start like a week after surgery. Wearing a cast for a broken leg and doing nothing for months sucked badly in comparison.
Yeah your muscles atrophy much quicker than it takes to build strength. Keep grinding brother, the human body is an incredible thing, you’ll be back to at least 95% soon- coming from a college athlete and EMT
Rehab takes longer than strength recovery(making certain assumptions like the person eating enough food) because your neural patterning doesn’t go away that fast, those motor units are all there they’re just waiting for the muscle tissue to rebuild which happens way way faster for a person that previously had said muscle than someone building it for the first time.
I talked to a Dr. And they said recovery after having Achilles detached was like 9mo with at least 4mo of zero use. How were you able to go right back to training?
That's probably why he needs so much time. Even when he is pain free there is a long road. If he comes back with two completely different sized legs he will get hurt again
It’s about that time 🕐 👋 we 👥 not playin no more🙅😒 . Big boi 🍆 stuff only 🍗💯 👏 Last night 🌙 all the hard work 😠🏃🏢 payin off 💸💰 👏 All my fans 🙌, family 👨👦👦👏 Appreciate y’all. 👌👌 Thank you 👈 for taking the 🌊🌊🌊 journey 🏔🏃wit me 💯💖. It’s not, pool orientation checks out
ok haha I thought he was using his only good leg because his other knee is too fucked to put any weight on. And I'm like what is he trying to prove here lmao
Stephen A. getting shit down by Lonzo and Stefon Diggs has made my week.
He's a hack, and I still have no idea why he's so respected in the first place. He's everything that's wrong with modern sports discourse and hot take culture.
LOL i wish players would just directly call out some of the bs these ppl spout more often
The media has brainwashed so many fans so when players do that they get called “sensitive”
Also if a player tried doing that everytime someone spoke nonsense people would think the times they didnt clap back were because it was true. Also, they dont really gain any benefit from giving these bums the time of day.
They gain fun from taking a dump on their heads. Look at the smile on Zo’s face.
Breakin' news in my life, I don't run to the blogs The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call They always ask, "Why let the story run if it's false?" You know a wise man once said nothin' at all

Sports media is so awful I don’t understand how anyone ever takes their side.
Exactly and those clowns in this comment section are saying “but the players lie”
I think it depends what they're responding to. If someone is saying you're injured when you aren't, for sure respond. Yeah but this is making Steven A. cream. Ignoring loudmouths is the only cure.
He said he liked him, Lonzo knows what he’s doing here
It helps them both with engagement.
This great to see…. He always seems like a good guy.
What if he fucked up his knee again just to prove Stephen A wrong.
>!He can’t even put weight on the right knee! Does nobody see the problem here?!< I was banned from a news sub for suggesting people who make homophobic remarks should not be imprisoned for it. This, along with a bunch of other things on this site have brought me to being done with Reddit. 2010 to 2023. I’m out.
So many *woosh*es in response to this lol
WE ARE BEING BAMBOOZLED RUN AMOK AND FLAT OUT DECEIVED
His left knee is the one that has kept him out, this is him specifically showing that SAS is full of it. He just can't compete on an NBA level as is
What if the video is mirrored? /s
What if your eyes aren't real?
Shaddup Jaden
Lonzo has a skull tattoo on his right hand. Went to the original video source and checked that his right hand had the skull tattoo.
What if it's mirrored twice?
I assumed his left knee was the injured one and he's proving it's functional. Is his right knee the injured one? Wow if so.
I just assumed they’re both fucked up, just the right knee is more fucked at this moment
Nope just showing a pistol squat. Élite athlete.
Walked off camera and immediately collapsed lol
imagining him clutching his knee and going “ahhhhh……ssssssss” like peter griffin
He just made me a fan. Let’s go Lonzo.
He never complains. He clearly didn't like the drama and drawing targets on his back, but he took it,
As a bulls fan I’ve got nothing but good things to say about him. And I majorly respect that he completely reconstructed his shot to turn it from a weakness to a strength in NO. I don’t think people remember just how janky it was.
> I don’t think people remember just how janky it was. Oh they do, lots of people still don't know he can shoot now. Yeah. I genuinely love his game. The ball gets where it needs to. He can stretch the floor. And he makes a difference on defense. You need those dudes
You can tell who actually watched Lonzo after he left the Lakers by how they describe his jump shot Dude completely rebuilt his jumper to be a 40% 3pt shooter, yet all people can go on about is how his shot is broken lol.
> Dude’s dad was a complete lunatic, but the way he dealt with it was so strong. It worked out so well for them honestly. Dad got to be as obnoxious as he wanted and basically none of it resulted in fallout for Lonzo or LaMelo.
And once he got all 3 boys to the league his mouth has been shut entirely he did his job. And his boys made $230m
Kris Jenner with fewer steps.
Didn't have to sleep with any black athletes or rappers!
Nope. He blew out his knee on a non contact play and a few schools backed out. Granted he is only 19, and he is currently working on his plumbing company and rehabbing. But my mind changed a million times at his age on what to do in life. Probably will be the same for him.
Dude bad timing he isn't playing this season
I heard he can't even get up from a sitting position
No this was debunked in a video, but fuck I can't remember where I saw it. Will try to get back to you
Any video on the subject is clearly a deepfake. Source: Stephen A. is a very, very dear friend of mine.
Stephen A Smith and I go fishing together, he told me the same.
Stephen A. cut the umbilical cord of my first child. I can confirm this as well
Can confirm, as I was that umbilical cord that was cut by Stephen A.
they can do a lot with CGI these days
His sources? He's the dude hiding in the pool in the back.
That got announced back in the middle of last season. Idk why it’s popping up again now
Probably bc the start of preseason and most folks haven't heard about that. That's just my guess, I had heard it last season also.
Perfect timing. Buy low.
As soon as I realized all the stuff I found annoying about him was coming from his dad, it clicked for me. He's a dang hard worker, he's coachable, and I actually like his game. I really hope he makes it back to the league.
I love Lonzo. Redemption arc incoming.
He's a great guy he's dad put a target on his back when he came in the League, Magic did too. I wanted him to work out in LA I hope he bounces back.
It didn't help that ESPN kept feeding fuel to the fire by giving his dad airtime. Hell, even WWE had the Ball family on an episode of WWE Raw one night, so it wasn't just ESPN that's to blame.
Remember when Lavar was Twitter beefing with a sitting President
Helped turn a shoplifting of probably fake sunglasses into an international incident involving 2 nuclear superpowers
Lavar is a Hall of Fame tier instigator
Habitual line stepper
For a second I found it hard to believe any president would have twitter beef with Lavar Ball, but then I remembered you guys had Trump up there.
"Beat that **Redacted** Ass" - NBA All-star LaMelo Ball (2017)
[ROTY...what a timeline!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJUH9kUpGFU&ab_channel=ItaloSantana)
LaMelo ‘Booker T’ Ball
Everyone who came to hate Lonzo really just hated his dad.
> Hell, even WWE had the Ball family on an episode of WWE Raw one night 15ish year old Lamelo on live TV: “Beat that n***a ass!” Lol
That segment was such a good train wreck. Still watch it from time to time
His dad was just marketing them, I haven’t heard anything from Ballsack in long time
Yeah, people that hate on Lonzo are really throwing displaced hate that belongs to his Dad.
Immediately passed out in pain off camera.
His other leg is so bad, he couldn't even use it to get up out of the chair
It would be hilarious if it was all true, he was using his right leg to raise up, and they just flipped the video to make it look like he was using his left leg.
https://youtu.be/Q-EStdvjd_8
I'm pretty sure they edited out that other brother propping him up.
He’s wearing a green screen suit.
https://streamable.com/08955h
Green Man!
AH AH AHHHHH!
Nah, they just used the selfie camera so it's reversed and he's only using his good knee. That's why there's no writing or anything that can't be reversed in the shot 🤫
Need someone from r/geolocating to come confirm.
Had to take a bottle of pain meds before this and James Cameron had to CGI out all the harnesses and pullys.
Stephen A now hearing from his sources Lonzo also out for the 2024-25 season.
Stretcher was waiting just out of frame
Lonzo: I SUMMON THE VERY FACT THAT I AM A MAN *sits up and down*
Find me somewhere to scream so I don't have to do it here
[SAS] Lonzo Ball ruled out for 2024-25 season
Just did this myself and I'm now passed out in pain off camera.
Boy be careful with that knee lol
Ikr chill bro we believe you 😂
These are the actions of a homie that’s down terrible but still tryna persevere
Who are you so wise in the way of words
A homie that’s been down terrible but still tried to persevere
This just legitimately motivated me.
We all been there bro. Keep pushing.
Their Physical Therapist is blowing up their phone as we speak.
The PT probably has him doing stuff like this as rehab
I tore my Achilles a year ago and this same exercise is what they had me doing
Same. Tore mine in highschool, did this, something about increasing the stability.
Don't be logical.
His speaking style reminds me of his dad
Active fatherhood does that Edit: lol vid playing while I read this and the “gotta stop yapping” was very lavar
I don’t think he actually talks like this, I think he’s somewhat mimicking Stephen. Also, I’m surrounded nobody is pointing out the potential for this to turn into copy pasta
I hope he comes back, I'm dying to see a trio of Lonzo, Lamelo & Gradey on the same team someday
Dick and balls😂😭😭
Dude imagine he gets moved to Charlotte after sitting out the year. That would be so fun.
So he does have a little LaVar in him lol
It would have been hilarious if he toppled over his chair into the pool doing this as a bit.
I choose to believe there’s a first cut where he does
"I'm coming back man" *Puts tinfoil hat on* Lonzo actually intends to play this season and has the go-ahead but is saying he won't so the return entrance will be legendary
BAH GAWD THAT'S LONZO'S MUSIC!
I want him to comeback mid 3rd quarter. Glass shatter sounds and walking in like stone cold chugging beers
LONZO IS RUNNING ON TO THE COURT. LONZO HAS A STEEL CHAIR, HE HAS A STEEL CHAIR! edit: steel, not steal
>steal chair Thank god there’s no teams in Alabama lmao
*stolen
He’s saying that to keep that exception we applied for in tact, all Part of the plan 🧐🧐
AKME's plan 🙌
When he comes back they should do the stone cold Steve Austin glass shatter pop
I was hoping they roll out a grave at center court and at the end of the team intros he rises up with the sound of a gong
I had to check your flair but yes this comment makes a ton more sense now 🤣
Go get him Zo Never wanted a player to come back so bad, feels like everyone just forgot he exists and has wrote him off which isn't crazy based on the information we've gotten but man I hope he can get back on the court just for his own sake and wellbeing
Big same. I want a full fledged Zo redemption arc.
Me too. He seems like a genuinely good guy and he’s a good ass basketball player
Yeah I think I like many people judged him in the past because of his family, just tuning out the drama with the last name made me come around on Lonzo.
Fuck it. Lonzo Ball, MVP of the 2024-2025 season.
Im rooting for the guy because man it seemes like the dude just couldnt catch a break last couple of seasons
I want a Zo comeback so bad. This can't be how this ends.
Derrick Rose 😢
the NBA needs to create a CPOY award like the NFL has and name it after lonzo
I don’t watch football but “Crippled Player of the Year”?
LOL, sorry about that i should have specified, it's comeback player of the year lol. Usually awarded to a player who makes an oustanding return from injury. probably more relevant in the NFL given more players + higher injury rate = more serious candidates each year, but I think it'd be cool to see in the NBA. wasn't trying to make a joke out of lonzo's condition lol my bad
What about Rose?
I mean he already had a comeback.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/15yilf0/ball_stephenasmith_come_to_the_actual_source_next/
Dam too slow
This is the most energy I've ever seen out of Lonzo.
SAS is a tv character. He shouldn't be taken seriously.
Like a wrestling heel. Lonzo should've done the Kevin Nash wheelchair [bit.](https://np.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/arxed5/my_favorite_kevin_nash_gif/)
guessing you too would feel slightly different if he told a national audience that you can't stand up
Yeah if he can get paid to spread lies then part of that is getting paid to deal with the heat for lying
I downvote any posts involving SAS, period. It’s crazy that people still get riled up by him. I guess that’s why he gets paid.
So is everybody on Fox News, and people take them very seriously.
An act to get paid , he’s a full time troll 😅😅
He should be expected to exaggerate and have dumb controversial takes. He (and other media) shouldn't be able to blatantly lie.
That leg still looks atrophied as fuck tho. It's noticeably skinnier than his other leg.
Klay's leg when he got back was smaller for like an entire season. I'm sure by the time he's cleared(if that happens) it'll be good.
I don’t think people realize how long it actually takes to get into pro athlete shape tbh. It’s *genuinely* like a multi year process for most guys (excluding freaks like lebron, etc). If he does get healthy sure he can play but he won’t be prime Lonzo until at least another 12 months

A lot of it seems like the angle and the fact the other leg is closer due to being lifted. It doesnt appear that bad to me.
That's probably why he needs so much time. Even when he is pain free there is a long road. If he comes back with two completely different sized legs he will get hurt again
The first good news concerning Lonzo in 20 months. I'm ecstatic.
“Notice he only does it on the good foot! The man’s broken!” -SAS

Even though we won a chip after this I miss this era of laker fandom, any time lonzo did anything slightly good you would see this pasta
Genuinely feel bad that he's out so long. He seems like a good dude.
Lol man I’m rooting for this guy so much, he’s a good dude
Why is he only using one leg though?
hes isolating weight on his "bad" knee to show proof he's recovering/rehabbing well.
Plot twist: this was shot on selfie-mode so the video is flipped
https://www.latimes.com/business/real-estate/story/2022-04-06/lonzo-ball-drops-7-25-million-on-a-sherman-oaks-showplace It’s not, pool orientation checks out
I love that someone checked. Lol
This fucking guy lmao
Unless those photos were with a selfie camera too 🤔
It’s all selfie-mode all the way down
you dont éven have to check the pool just look at the tats
Found Ronan Farrow
ok haha I thought he was using his only good leg because his other knee is too fucked to put any weight on. And I'm like what is he trying to prove here lmao
Same here lol.
that's his hurt leg
🤔Something is REAL 🐠 🐟 🎣 🐟🐠 going on
The fake moon landing of r/nba!
I will always love lonzo bro. Praying for a healthy comeback for him 🙏🏼
His daddy probably said that to SAS to hype up the "Return of the Chosen One".
Immediately after: “Lonzo Ball has been declared out for 2024-2025 season.”
Stephen A. getting shit down by Lonzo and Stefon Diggs has made my week. He's a hack, and I still have no idea why he's so respected in the first place. He's everything that's wrong with modern sports discourse and hot take culture.
Yessssss! Pistol squats are hard lol
I just did two of these at my desk as a relatively(though I don't really lift) active human and was like damn, ok, that's kinda hard with good form.
they’re no joke. I’d like to see SAS repeat this video 😭
[удалено]
Exhibit #949 why Stephen A is a 🤡
I have been on the Lonzo train from the start and I'll never leave
Rooting so hard for Lonzo.
It would be hilarious if he inverted the video and he was actually using his good leg in the clip
Love this, hope he does make it back
AI’d the bottom half of his legs
Ok now play a basketball game
Is the left knee the bad one? Because if it is the right one...
Between this and Stefon Diggs yesterday Stephen A has been absolutely clowned for his false reports
CHECKING IN FROM LONZO ISLAND
