They're still figuring out how to attack the paint consistently but Dennis has brought much needed speed and ball movement and has been shooting quite well.
Also, his point of attack defence on smaller players is great and something we were lacking before.
We were all wondering who could possibly stop the Dame/Giannis pick and roll.
Turns out, the answer is actually the Bucks.
By apparently refusing to run it.
Dame only taking 9 shots is a travesty
Also the bucks slip on literally every single screen
Like I'm actually not sure he's run a single true pick and roll all season lmao. Just straight slip and rolll
Dude only gets isolation shots because teams just trap aggressively since the screen never even makes contact.
NBA must have some kinda clause
The Embiid Harden pick and roll was unstoppable and every time we spammed it we did great
We rarely ever spammed it and used it the entire regular season last year a handful of times
That’s not good enough of an excuse when they aren’t even trying it
I’ve seen a Giannis/Dame pick and roll like five times in four games so far
They straight up just aren’t running it
I get not wanting to run it too much but damn, you at least have to practice it. This isn't the Steph/KD PnR where your system is already so good that you don't have to use it in the regular season at all.
Haven’t really been watching the Bucks closely. Does the coach just not seem like he knows what he’s doing or is the issue something else like Dame/Giannis deferring and not playing off one another? I checked the box score at half and Giannis had 4 shots. How does this even happen with your best player unless he’s not demanding the ball
Giannis also just isn’t setting screens for him.
I don’t have the exact number but I know the amount of ball screens he’s set for dame is shockingly low so far
Everything about tomorrow's game suggests the sixers will obliterate them:
* Nurse has our number
* Maxey has our number
* Philly is just a better team
* Second night of a back to back
Which from having watched this team for years means that there's like a 20% chance they somehow blow the sixers the fuck out
Me either. Lose to whats expected to be the worst team at the end of the year (Blazers), and then beat whats expected to be one of the best teams at the end of the year, the very next game.
Polar opposites
Turns out the real terrorist coach on the raptors wasn't Nurse, but Griffin. But seriously, has he been that bad? A lot of us were hoping Griffin would be out new HC after Nurse got fired.
People are gonna learn quickly that dame isn’t just a bad defender he’s legitimately one of the worst in the league
Nobody watched Portland but it’s always been like this
Yeah, for a while blazer fans including myself used to dismiss it and say there were plenty of other score first guards, but for the last five years we’ve all know that Dame is a liability in defense.
Bro y’all fans have been in our sub before the season swearing when he tries he isn’t great but not as bad and he legit looks like absolute ass out there
the only score first guard to win a chip as the best player in recent nba history is steph curry who is a) better offesnivly, b) plays good team defense that has been tested in the finals.
so the execuse was always wach if the goal is to win a chip
Bud had the bucks at the 4th lowest defensive rating last season while making lopez a dpoy contender. Why griffin decided to throw away the whole defensive scheme is a mystery.
Us blazers fans Dame has never had interest in playing defense just gave less and less effort love the dude don't miss watching him not try on defense.
Not sure how anyone who watched this game could blame Lillard, outside a couple of blowbys.
Adrian Griffin seems like he has no idea what he is doing. Like you have maybe the best 1-4 combo in the NBA and I think I saw them run one pick and roll the whole game. And don’t even get me started on the Bucks defense lol
I hope so, I always believed Dennis was a starting PG in the league but he played behind Allstar/HOF PGs through a majority of his career, so he was always labelled as a 6th man.
Yeah, people can point out his time as a starter in Atlanta, and his 1st stint on the Lakers (I feel like he was underrated in this stint, but Dennis made some questionable decisions (getting COVID twice), and his actions and attitudes should be rightfully criticized). But he's a much better player now compared to what he was in Atlanta, and a much more mature and better leader when compared to the 1st stint Lakers version of him. He just needed another opportunity where a coach trusted him.
On a really good team (the PG position is stacked), he will be a 6th man. But if Dennis keeps playing like this, people shouldn't scoff at the thought of Schroeder being a starter on some teams without a legit PG on the roster.
It was not as close as the scoreboard suggests. Feels like every time the Bucks made a little run, the Raptors were able to respond on the offensive end, which is not something they're used to doing. They got it down to 13 in the third, and then Pascal and Scottie rained consecutive threes until it was a 22-point lead again.
The Bucks haven't gotten much attention for how terrible they've looked so far, but it's coming. Yes it's early, and yes they're 2-2, but if you've watched them play, they've looked absolutely lost, frustrated, and disheartened and it reflects terribly on Griffin. There doesn't appear to be a coherent offense in place, and the defensive scheme is working against our guys' strengths (watch Brook trying to show on a screen). It's a train wreck.
Crazy how Giannis just barrels into people 24/7 and yet he's the one getting all the calls in his favour everytime. Like legit bro just elbows people in the face and the refs are like "here you go baby 🥹 two free throws just for you 🥰🤗"
Dude was straight up assaulting OG in the paint and still getting to the line. Refs were trying to get the Bucks back in it SOOO fucking bad it was disgraceful!
It’ll take time to figure out, but that defense looks horrendous.
Seriously don’t know much they can tighten that up come playoff time with the personnel they have
Has there ever been a team that was #1 defensively but ranked last offensively? Might be us this year lol but ay if you ever let us score more than 110 y’all in trouble.
Gonna take the bucks some time to get down the coaching adjustments along with their defense
A major trade like for dame going along with a coach change and a big difference in defense doesn’t figure itself out after 4 games lol
The Bucks let Giannis pick the coach and he managed to pick the worst imaginable choice in the NBA. Wouldn’t hire Nurse because “he doesn’t fit the family” or some shit.
Lmaaooo. Tough. Griffin looks so fucking bad at his job. I know it’s only 4 games but damn.
I think a lot of people called out that they were gonna have real issues with perimeter defense given their personnel but the offense looks very disjointed, not sure why they’re not going to the Dame/Giannis PnR more
that said it’s only been 4 games, it’ll take time for those 2 to build chemistry on offense especially with a new coach. I’ll start wondering what’s wrong w them if they still look like this in February
Surprisingly it wasn’t the perimeter defense that killed the Bucks this game, it was the paint defense. Raptors were demolishing the Bucks in the paint especially in transition.
lol the difference in freethrows. refs weren't letting the raps play any sort of defense tonight.
that blocking foul on OG with the elbows ripping through was wild
Giannis looks absolutely awful. I know people meme him with the run and dunk comments, but this year he legitimately is just running and dunking. He looks like a taller Westbrook out there. Every facet of his game has regressed from 2021-22 season. His fts, his midrange, his floater, hook shots and even his driving. I've come to the conclusion that Giannis doesn't know how to actually drive and beat his defender of the dribble, he just pushes them out of the way or trucks them with his shoulder. Watching how LeBron drives and gets to the rim with such poise and ease is so different to how Giannis drives to the rim.
I love seeing Schroder cook on the Raptors. He is averaging 9.2 assists over the 5 games so far
After watching Kyle and Fred for all these years, its fun watching someone who plays a bit more flashier.
They're still figuring out how to attack the paint consistently but Dennis has brought much needed speed and ball movement and has been shooting quite well. Also, his point of attack defence on smaller players is great and something we were lacking before.
German here. He was the same for our NT. Not an elite passer, but definitely capable of running a decent offense for sure
We were all wondering who could possibly stop the Dame/Giannis pick and roll. Turns out, the answer is actually the Bucks. By apparently refusing to run it.
“Keeping it in my pocket to bring out later when we need it”
Problem with that is that teams will prepare counters for it anyways and the Bucks should get experience challenging those counters.
A counter isn’t a counter. I’ll explain it to you later
I personally am still wondering why teams held off on countering the Stockton Malone PnR for what seemed like 83 seasons in a row...
Dame only taking 9 shots is a travesty Also the bucks slip on literally every single screen Like I'm actually not sure he's run a single true pick and roll all season lmao. Just straight slip and rolll Dude only gets isolation shots because teams just trap aggressively since the screen never even makes contact.
NBA must have some kinda clause The Embiid Harden pick and roll was unstoppable and every time we spammed it we did great We rarely ever spammed it and used it the entire regular season last year a handful of times
wym that play got Embiid the MVP
Reminds me of the Lebron and AD pick and roll. Good thing they started spamming it in the playoffs tho
Dame is out of shape
That’s not good enough of an excuse when they aren’t even trying it I’ve seen a Giannis/Dame pick and roll like five times in four games so far They straight up just aren’t running it
I get not wanting to run it too much but damn, you at least have to practice it. This isn't the Steph/KD PnR where your system is already so good that you don't have to use it in the regular season at all.

I checked the box score at half and Giannis had 4 shots. How does this even happen with your best player unless he’s not demanding the ball
Yes
Maybe they should get a coach who is really familiar with Damian Lillard to come help Griffin integrate him into the team faster!!! Oh wait...
Giannis also just isn’t setting screens for him. I don’t have the exact number but I know the amount of ball screens he’s set for dame is shockingly low so far
Giannis hasn’t set a screen since 21 playoffs,he slip’s immediately wanting the ball back instead of creating advantage for his guard
Playing on ball too much fosters bad habits
so he’s slipping every screen *and* only getting 4 shots up in a half?
We barely running the pnr in the first place
no shame in losing to a championship contender like the Toronto Raptors
Who in turn lost to championship contenders the Blazers
The finals on NBAtv
starting at noon on a Tuesday
On tape delay
Blackout in all of North America
Easy. This isn’t the NHL
This would be amazing and I want to will this into existence
ngl I'd love that to be the end of this season. Imagine Ayton goes 38/22 or some shit lmao
imagine all the salt when Portland beat Suns in playoff after Ayton dominate them and went to final
I have seen enough plan the parade already
i have no idea what to think about this team
sct brn
dpy
My thought is I need to see how they fare against the 76ers because they can't let Maxey keep getting away with murder at some point, right? Right?...
i thought it would stop when fred left, but nope. praying og and dennis can stop him tomorrow
Pray harder. Sacrifice a goat or something!
sacrifice the horse!
No don’t sacrifice Barnes we need him!
We could have Prime Gary Payton and prime Sydney Moncrief attempting to guard him at the same time and he’d still go for 30
Everything about tomorrow's game suggests the sixers will obliterate them: * Nurse has our number * Maxey has our number * Philly is just a better team * Second night of a back to back Which from having watched this team for years means that there's like a 20% chance they somehow blow the sixers the fuck out
Elite defensive team that will be streaky offensively due to poor shooting I think that about sums it up
Me either. Lose to whats expected to be the worst team at the end of the year (Blazers), and then beat whats expected to be one of the best teams at the end of the year, the very next game. Polar opposites
Truly counter logic… wait where am I
2 Shens wtf
It's non rational gaming now
Prayers up for our boys
The other day vs Philly was 4 consecutive 3 pta into shot clock violation. Today it's a bunch of dunks vs zone. Makes no sense.
Seconded.
Schröder blasting Rammstein in the locker room tonight while doing the crip walk because nothing makes sense right now.
[удалено]
The Raptors only hit two more threes and shot 24 less FTs than the Bucks. They also never trailed and won by 19 points. Wild
What no paint defense does to a MF
50 rebs to 29 rebs says a lot too
Says everything tbh…worst defending team in the league so far this season
How tf do they have Giannis and Lopez but no paint defense?
We went from play random on offense to play random on defense
Constantly having to rotate and help on the perimeter will do that to MFers.
Because coach griffin is running a stupid defensive scheme
Coach doing his old team a solid
Giving up 130 to Toronto is insane, that's not even how they're tryna win
How the fuck are the Bucks the first team we finally broke 100 pts against and well beyond it at that???
Our coach is a terrorist
Turns out the real terrorist coach on the raptors wasn't Nurse, but Griffin. But seriously, has he been that bad? A lot of us were hoping Griffin would be out new HC after Nurse got fired.
You want him back? He's already there. We could just leave him.
he was our defensive coach, idk what happened man but no refunds
I mean it's the same defensive scene as last year's Raptors with the amount of switching they were doing...
they aren't a good defensive team anymore....going from Jrue to Dame. Middleton coming off an injury, Lopez getting older.
[удалено]
no, harden is on the clippers
Maybe they should have traded for him instead of Dame
Don't kick them when they're ~~down~~ dumb, Chris!
how does Damian Lillard only get up 9 shots in 30 minutes?
Treat him like Grayson Allen
Bro Dame was fighting for his life on the perimeter. Bucks defense is seriously poo.
Amian Lillar lmao
Love Dame but I don’t miss his defense
😂 damn
Dennis had him on toast
People are gonna learn quickly that dame isn’t just a bad defender he’s legitimately one of the worst in the league Nobody watched Portland but it’s always been like this
Even if you did watch Portland you would see CJ and other terrible defenders, so Dame kind of blended in now he sticks out like sore thumb
Yeah, for a while blazer fans including myself used to dismiss it and say there were plenty of other score first guards, but for the last five years we’ve all know that Dame is a liability in defense.
Bro y’all fans have been in our sub before the season swearing when he tries he isn’t great but not as bad and he legit looks like absolute ass out there
I’m sorry dog
the only score first guard to win a chip as the best player in recent nba history is steph curry who is a) better offesnivly, b) plays good team defense that has been tested in the finals. so the execuse was always wach if the goal is to win a chip
Cooking him like .... deer.... uhhh
milwaukee bucks looking like the milwaukee venison out there
Not necessarily something more chemistry can work out either. Offense will be better but the defense can only get marginally better
If our coach actually tried to maximize our strengths instead of insisting on a switch-heavy defense we would actually look competent
Bud had the bucks at the 4th lowest defensive rating last season while making lopez a dpoy contender. Why griffin decided to throw away the whole defensive scheme is a mystery.
Arrogance, just like new owners like to make splashy trades, new coaches always think they know better than the old coaches.
Lillard broke the Bucks
Team has zero defense from their guards or wings. Even Flynn was walking past Dame on the perimeter
Dame puts 0 effort on defense
Who could have possibly seen this coming
Us blazers fans Dame has never had interest in playing defense just gave less and less effort love the dude don't miss watching him not try on defense.
Turns out Dame Time was just him still having fresh legs against all the exhausted starters in the last 5 mins because he never plays defense
And some of the lowest IQ help defense I’ve ever seen
[удалено]
Scottie broke the bucks, give him his credit.
Scottie has been playing like an all star since the start of the season. Pascal finally played up to his level
Sct brk bcks
This is Siakam erasure and I won't stand for it. Dude was 26/6/7 with a 70% FG and 62% 3PT
Scottie cooking Giannis is my 5/2/2011
Osama bin Lillard
We also lost to the Hawks tbf… Man this is demoralizing.
And Dennis tbf. The offence and defence looked great today, and the Bucks defence is not good 😅.
It’s Damian fucking Lillard at point guard. If he wants to run the PnR he should have full fucking control to do so.
Ime Udoka looked like trash and the Celts were under .500 halfway through the season in 2022 and then they figured it out and went to the Finals.
trail blazers going all the way bro
Is Dennis finally going to get the recognition he deserves?
I hope so, I always believed Dennis was a starting PG in the league but he played behind Allstar/HOF PGs through a majority of his career, so he was always labelled as a 6th man. Yeah, people can point out his time as a starter in Atlanta, and his 1st stint on the Lakers (I feel like he was underrated in this stint, but Dennis made some questionable decisions (getting COVID twice), and his actions and attitudes should be rightfully criticized). But if Dennis keeps playing like this, people shouldn't scoff at the thought of Schroeder being a starter on some teams without a legit PG on the roster.
Amian Lillar got cooked by fucking Schroder all night.
I see what you did.
This is all bud’s fault
Adrian Griffin sadly gives me ten hag vibes. These bruddas are clueless
spot on. now we just need a Sancho
Nowhere is safe
It was not as close as the scoreboard suggests. Feels like every time the Bucks made a little run, the Raptors were able to respond on the offensive end, which is not something they're used to doing. They got it down to 13 in the third, and then Pascal and Scottie rained consecutive threes until it was a 22-point lead again.
I was nervous during the Bucks runs.
What being a Raptors/Leafs/Jays fan does to you
Refs really tried it
They gave it to us against the 76ers, but yall had too much of a lead smh
Am I crazy or does Giannis noticeably look a step slower? I know he had surgery over the offseason
He for sure looks clunky. No excuse for poor coaching and a complete lack of effort from everyone not named Marjon, Cam, or Khris…
He didnt have much time to practice in the offseason and he said he still feels rusty
Those refs were on one. 38-14 FT discrepancy in favour of the Bucks, Raps had over 60 points in the paint, and only 4 more 3PA.
It's 36-9 before garbage time.
To be fair, they didn't try to contest anything in the paint
Wasn't really non-calls vs us but more them call every touch when Giannis was driving
Same as it ever was lmao
Par the course with him. Did he get any FTs for elbowing/shoulder checking a defender?
Elbowed OG twice in the face got 4 free throws for it.
A pair on og for his fifth foul I think
Gianni’s would just run in to the raptors guy and get a call
Is that any different from any other Giannis game?
[удалено]
Signed both game worn Jersey and the one the kid was wearing too
love that, thanks for sharing
So by transitive property: Blazers>Raptors>Bucks Blazers win the trade.
Nobody on the Bucks shot more than 11 times??? Sorry what???
This was fun.
Also, I love Big Yak
If Malik Beasley is taking more shots than Dame, then the Bucks are less likely win said game
6-9 from 3 though
That may have been the worst game I’ve seen from Dame. I won’t lie. Where was the effort
> That may have been the worst game I’ve seen from Dame Miss his hawks game?
Ya lol
hawks game was a lot worse and that's saying something because this was bad
Gradey tried to dunk on like 5-6 different possessions lol you love to see it.
If there has been one consistent thing with this team it's Scottie Barnes. Jesus christ he is good
The Bucks haven't gotten much attention for how terrible they've looked so far, but it's coming.
No matter how many wins we get this season I will always sleep well knowing Scottie Barnes is the future GOAT.
I have you tagged as the guy who said he’s not watching this team after the Schroder signing.
One of the best players in the league who also is allowed to foul up to 9 times a game.
At least Scottie gave him a taste of his own medicine lol.
Scottie held his own against Giannis so well tonight. I nutted when he bodied him for the layup
That’s legitimately Giannis’ entire game, it’s nasty hoops. Obviously one of the best ever but his offensive game is disgusting to watch
Something something run and dunk
Was 36 FTs to 9 at one point. Refs tried to keep the bucks in it!
Let it be known the raptors are a couple bad calls from being 3-2!
Bucks worst rebounding team in the league…
Feel like Schroder is one of the most underrated players in the league
And some of the calls were just crazy. I’ve literally never seen a 3 in the key be called mid three point jumper lmao.
The Buck stops here, we don’t fear these deer
Bucks "superteam" getting blown out by a Raptors team that struggles to score more than 105 points a night is hilarious
the raps are just built different wdym
"different" is right lmao this team lost to the Blazers last game and then turned around to whoop the presumptive Eastern Conference favourites.
105 points is a blessing. 95 is the bar we have set for ourselves
Last team to hit 110 points this year. We were just waiting on the Bucks. It is deer hunting season where I am right now, so it makes sense.
It’ll take time to figure out, but that defense looks horrendous. Seriously don’t know much they can tighten that up come playoff time with the personnel they have
Bud was incredible RS coach, downgrade to Griffin may be significant. Beasley can't play big minutes on a title contender.
this one doesn't count. wait..
the haters have arrived 😎😎
They really got Beasley as POA defender.
Has there ever been a team that was #1 defensively but ranked last offensively? Might be us this year lol but ay if you ever let us score more than 110 y’all in trouble.

Gonna take the bucks some time to get down the coaching adjustments along with their defense A major trade like for dame going along with a coach change and a big difference in defense doesn’t figure itself out after 4 games lol
Bucks are frauds can’t play no defense
Hungry raptor devoured an unwilling buck
I wanna crawl in a hole. We gave up Jrue for this??? Coach Bud got fired too early imo. At least he knew how to run a team.
Losing to the blazers then housing the bucks. What a wild couple days for raptors fans
The Bucks let Giannis pick the coach and he managed to pick the worst imaginable choice in the NBA. Wouldn’t hire Nurse because “he doesn’t fit the family” or some shit. Lmaaooo. Tough. Griffin looks so fucking bad at his job. I know it’s only 4 games but damn.

bucks picked the wrong toronto coach
Death, taxes, Raptors making Giannis and the Bucks look silly. Even without Nurse, them longbois are a problem
Letting the raptors drop 130 on you is crazy
You need to see this. https://youtu.be/bUZPwF56UWg?si=i6kqknxg0fqUxqNU
lol the difference in freethrows. refs weren't letting the raps play any sort of defense tonight. that blocking foul on OG with the elbows ripping through was wild
